Excellent place to get in shape or try to get in shape

I love the place...it offers the hard core Rockey Balboa like gym atmosphere. I BELIEVE THOUGH THAT THE CLUB HOURS ARE MORE GEARED FOR THE ELDERLY. Some gyms offer 24/7 access. I personally find myself wanting to go to the gym sometimes at the spare of the moment. Not to put anyone down but to close at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon is rather ridiculous. Yes, many of us like to take it easy or go out clubbing on a Saturday evening. But on the other hand, some of us use trips to the gym as a sort of therapy for themselves, their bodies and their minds. I am currently thinking about changing gyms and hours will definately play a part in my decision. As far as Unique Physique is concerned...I find only one problem (hours) and in all actuality...thats not too bad at all! I still give U.P. at two thumbs up...

I finally found my way back into working out after a long long hiatus. I was looking for a low key environment with a good mix of classes, equipment and personal training. I am impressed with the kind, nurturing attitude of the entire staff. Highly recommend.

I love it here!! Where do I even start?! First, I love the lineup of fitness classes (if thats something your in to). They have a lot of the Les Mills classes here (not to mention the ONLY gym in York, PA to have BODYATTACK) and their non Les Mills classes are a blast too! On top of offering these awesome classes, all of the instructors are extremely friendly and always willing to help (or eager to answer questions)! Second, they just repainted not too long ago and that just makes the inside pop! Before, it was just dull white walls, but looks so much better now. Third, they have a wide selection of dotFit products to help supplement your workout! I am a big fan of their products and so glad that Unique Physique has them to offer their members. Finally, they are a very family oriented gym!! Childcare is part of your membership (whether you are there for classes, machines, or weights) and that really sets it apart from SOME other gyms in the York area. Would HIGHLY recommend to a friend! :)

This is a great gym, so long as you are ok with the aesthetics not being ultra clean/modern/glitzy. Its a small family run gym, so the equipment isnt brand new and they dont spend tons of money on the looks of the place. Its functional.The atmosphere is wonderfully friendly and fun and accepting. Good range and schedule of classes and equipment, and everyone there is helpful and welcoming. Child care is included in the membership, and they have a sauna and eucalyptus rooms that are coed.I read a separate review that voiced a concern about nutrition advice, and I cant comment on the expertise of folks at this gym. However I think talking to your family doctor and/or a dietician is a better plan than seeking out advice from any retail establishment or gym, so for me its a non issue.
