The actual manicure experience was fine, however the nail dryer was set too warm which caused the nail polish to shift away from my cuticles and caused a ripple/wrinkling effect on my nails. I wish I would have realized it sooner and hope they fix the dryer or set it to a cooler setting. Not worth the money because my nails wouldnt dry even after 15 minutes and got messed up after I left. The staff is very friendly and quick, though.
I walked in for service with my African American friend. A lady came to do his manicure/pedicure right after he sat on the chair a white man walked in my friend was told you must wait until the white man that came after him was serviced. The racial dynamics/optics are troubling. My friend left without the service!
I got a staph infection on my feet, from this place. I reported it to the DOH CosComplaints line. I cannot believe this. This is so nasty.
Tracy is my girl!!! She’s amazing. Took my horrible liquid gel manicure mess up from another salon and turned it into the most beautiful perfectly shaped manicure. I’ve also gotten a pedicure here and it was great!
I kid you not these reviews are not lies ! I thought everyone was being dramatic worse place ever ! Recently moved to the city and wanted to try something new it was not for me
My favorite nail spot in DC. They are courteous, attentive and very clean. I’m always satisfied with my nails as well as my pedicures.
This nail shop is the worst place to be they charged me $125 for full set powder gel and pedicure gel and the nail tech left my nails very thin easy to break. She also left my toe nail crooked and did not want to fix it. However she still charge me for that crooked nail. I still wanted two designs on my engagement fingers and she charge me $20 for two designs and did not have a clue on how to designs my nail. I was extremely disappointed and angry because they took longer than what I expected. Do not ever go to this place, they do not know how to be nice to people.
Im VERY disappointed with this place.Ive been coming to this business for a long time. The Tech Ive been seeing will schedule me and forget about our appointment or Ill come in and shes delayed up to an hour late. Tracy is a HORRIBLY irresponsible Tech who does not value her clients.Im looking for a new nail shop!
The guy there kept filing down my nail bed until it hurt. I literally had to keep pulling my fingers away from him because my nail bed was getting so sensitive. I went in to get two nails fixed and a polish change which somehow took two hours to do. The fake nails lasted 3 days before they started to break and I discovered that my pinky nail has a fungus growing underneath it. I won’t be back to get my nails done ever. The staff is very friendly but it’s not worth getting your nail bed destroyed and getting a fungus
I go to V Nails for their nail and waxing services. Its a dinky neighborhood shop, but the prices are the best Ive seen in DC. I get my eye brows and a Brazilian and Ann does a great job waxing every time. The pedicures and nails are hit or miss depending on who you get. I recommend Tracy. She does a great job and does not rush through the process regardless of how busy they are.
I love Ann! I only go for eyebrow waxing but Ann is the best! I always tip her face to face so she knows how much I appreciate her services & her conversation. She has a lot of great stories.
There is much to be desired by the owners customer service... but if you get past that ...Wow!my tech is Qand she is exceptional. i have used others due to my schedule and lets just say, the ladies rule that place. i have Finally found my nail salon. Amen :)
I wanted a French manicure. While the manicure itself was OK (had an air bubble on one nail right at the white border which looked bad), I could not understand my nail tech at all. She kept saying something every few minutes but I just stared at her blankly, I had to ask her to repeat 3 or 4 times, and I finally realized she was trying to upsell me to a wax treatment of some kind. I agreed just to end the struggle. Also fox news was on the TV the whole time which was very irritating. So great job guys, you got an extra 10 bucks off me and I will never be coming back
Im not really a complainer, but Im so ticked that I had to leave a review. I think the place is under new management and Im not sure thats a good thing. Went today for a full set and pedicure. It was terrible! The polish was so thick and I told him several times it was too thick. My full set is not good as well because so many ridges left underneath, that I will have to cover them until I get a new set. In their defense, one employee did step in and repainted my fingernails... but my toes are still damp after 5 hours.
Ive been going here for over 2 years now for my eyebrows. Anne makes them look gorgeous, natural, and fierce each and every time! She is so skilled and I am happy to have her in my arsenal. I seriously dont know what Id do without her!A few pointers:- Its cash only for eyebrows- Tip Anne directly- Stop hesitating and go get your brows done already (youll leave feeling like a million bucks)! Please note, I have not used V Nails for other services.
Got a full set and a pedicure. I couldve done a better job doing my own pedicure. The lady doing my pedicure also did my full set and was rude along with many of the others employees. Never again going to this location. Nothing special.
I recently visited V Nails in Columbia Heights for the first time and had a great customer service experience. I called on a Saturday morning to make a same day appointment that evening. When I arrived, though busy, I was promptly seated at the time I had made my appointment. My nail tech was very friendly and personable, and as far as I am concerned she did a great job.I rate this nail salon 3 stars because I was NOT pleased with the end product. I received a gel manicure for $35. As I said, my nail technician did a great job as far as the overall appearance of my nails. However just 3 days after my visit the polish on one of my nails started to peal. How does gel nail polish peal just 3 days later? At the end of the week, I went back to show the owner what began to happen to my nail. He was kind enough to redo the nail with no fuss or charge. My satisfaction however was short lived. After 9 or 10 days of a gel manicure, half of my gel nails started to peal and chip off.If you know what the results of a good gel manicure are, you know the longevity of the manicure when done correctly should last for up to 21 days with no pealing or chipping. My guess is that they do not invest in a great product (unfortunately I dont recall the name of the gel brand) OR the polish had gone bad. Either way, Ive never had this issue before with gel nails, a service Ive seeked out dozens of times at other locations. To be in a prime location like Columbia Heights, I would expect better and I can not say I will be returning. Again, great customer service, perhaps their other services and products have a better end result.
My girl V always on point
It has been a month since I got a gel manicure there and today has been the first day with signs of chipping or wear. This is saying a lot because I took multiple pottery classes which I expected to destroy my nails immediately and theyre still flawless. Ive never gotten more compliments on my nails before. Will be back!!
This nail salon gets 2 stars for customer service. I have never known a nail salon to turn down service as simple as a pedicure on one occasion or eyebrow waxing on another a hour before closing. The man greeting customers in front is very rude and quickly tells customers to come back later! I have decided to never return to this establishment!! Cust
They are in a hurry to finish up with you! They did my pedicure and manicure in less than 20mins. Would not recommend this place unless you are in a rush to spend your money!
I asked for a male pedicurist, of which, there are two. There were two in staff when I went in at 5:15 pm. The salon was not busy and several manicurists were sitting around at the time. The owner rudely denied me service with a male manicurist. I asked for one because they have stronger hands and can do mans feet better. Especially, the removal of dead skin and calisus on the bottom of feet.I was told only women do mens feet - its 2017 DUDE!!!Will think twice about returning.
I go to this place almost every week! They are fast and my nails always look great.
Dont get your nails done here. They rush for no reason and their nail job is sloppy, would’ve done them myself.
Love this place! They are the best in the area.
Awesome manicures and pedicures! Busy little spot, but awesome service!!!
Busy, but fast and efficient. Clean. Will go back!
Nails was perfect. The lady just messed my eyebrows up thats why I give 3 stars dont get your brows done
I asked for my toes to match my nails I thought the color would match it was a dip but it turned out the nails were bad and not pink didnt like it very much didnt even suggest that I change the color if I go back I wont get a dip snacks that is bad with that
This place is the most convenient nail salon in columbia heights. It provides good quality mani and pedi services, cheep waxing services and an extra treat with a complementary hydrating treatment .
The guy gave nice massages but mess up my nails. He gave me a refund thou, probably wont go back
Local and efficient service.
I use to really like this place but now i hate it..the techs are arrogant and rude and my nails are always basic looking..
