My sister got Acrylic nail & facial treatment & eyelash done, my dad got pedicure & haircut, my mom got gel manicure, and I got Dip powder & Brazilian wax. We are so pleased with their services. Horrible!!!!!! The owner was extremely rude. I asked if he could fix one nail and he told me it would be $20 to fix one toe regular polish!!!! The nail salon was empty and it looks like it’s falling apart— for a reason. I’m surprised this place is still in business. There’s no way it passes the sanitary checks and the customer service was beyond rude. He ended his comments with “go back to the other nail salon you came from” ????? Absolutely worse experience and the male had no mask on while I was in there. MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE DO NOT GO!!!!

REVIEW FOR HAIRCUT - I didnt want to write this review, yet I feel I have no other recourse. I would also like to make others aware of my experience. I found Tommy through Groupon about a year or so ago, and he did a fantastic cut and color for me. I then returned to my less expensive stylist, who is reliable yet not spectacular. I decided to return to Tommy when he sent notification that the salon had reopened after the pandemic and that discounts were available. Im flabbergasted that things went so awry during this visit.He told me that the full amount would be $210, with $75 for the cut. That seemed a bit on the high side, especially as discounts had been offered, yet I agreed to it as I was changing my color. Together, we decided that his cut would follow the U shape that the ends of my long hair were already in, and that he would cut off as little as possible. He even held his finger and thumb about an inch and a half apart to show me the amount, and I agreed to it. Oddly when compared to my previous experience, he began cutting my hair while it was dry, before applying the color. I dont remember the cut coming before the color or having a cut done when my hair was dry during my many visits to several salons, including my previous appointment with Tommy. I felt like he was cutting a little high in my length of hair and cutting too much off, yet I naively decided it was probably fine. When he was finished, he used a hand mirror to show me the back of my hair while I was in the chair with the cloth cover still on. In that position, it was difficult to tell the length. Just as I told him it was fine, I caught that the strands were asymmetrical from one side to the other and had been cut too sharply, into more of a sloppy V shape than a smooth U shape. When he left to mix the color, I felt my hair and pulled it forward, discovering to my horror that he had cut off roughly THREE TO FOUR INCHES instead of the agreed upon about an inch and a half. Looking in the mirror, I also noticed that the cut was very choppy and the ends were flyaway.I immediately went to him to request the hand mirror and used it myself to look at the back of my hair. I sadly confirmed what I thought I had seen before, that the cut was asymmetrical, sloppy, too short, and more of a V shape than a U shape. I was very sad and disappointed, yet anger hadn’t yet surfaced. As such, I told him what I had seen and that I would pay for the cut, yet I was no longer interested in the color. At first, he tried to tell me that he hadn’t cut that much off. When I was firm that I was leaving, his position changed to that he wasn’t done with the cut and that he planned to shape it up after he was finished with the color. He implored me to sit back down and allow him to fix it. I did so hesitantly. His scissor strokes seemed unsure and he kept repeating that he wasn’t cutting more off—hmmm, if you’re taking scissors to my hair, what else are you doing?! When he was done, I let him know that I was still very unhappy. I again offered to pay for the cut and declined to continue with any further services. I wish I would have asked him for a price reduction at the very least, yet I was close to tears and I didn’t want to argue with him. I even gave him a tip as I know some folks will fight you if you don’t—at least I made it smaller than my usual tips!So, congratulations to Tommy for making $85 for a few minutes of hacking my hair into a mess. My most recent experience indicates that if you have long hair and want to keep it, go to Hai Gloss and Tommy at your own peril!

Tommy is amazing. He has done my brows and nails for years - Tommy and his team are experts at both. Tommy is efficient, professional, genuine, and makes fabulous recommendations (like my latest manicure in pic - my first dipping vitamin calcium color powder). AND he is kind enough to stay open late, if I cant make it before closing. Thank you, Tommy!! :)

This place will never see my business again. I should’ve known not to go in when there wasn’t one other customer. He does not know how to smooth out acrylic. One of my nails was super lumpy and I made him fix it. I called the next day and asked could he fix two other lumpy nails because I didn’t have the time the day before to stay. He tells me he’s already fixed one nail and the rest he had nothing to do with. He’s unprofessional. His technique needs work. He clearly doesn’t accommodate customers. Won’t get another dollar from me. Horrible.

DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!! The nail technician threw water at me.I came here to remove SNS from my nails and to get them redone. It was my first time here, but I am trying to find a nail shop close to the job and it had good reviews so I figured I would try them out. In the process of taking my nails, the nail technician was using a false nail tip to peel the powder from my nails. I asked him if it would break off my nail and he replied no. He broke the second nail he did this on all the way down to the nail bed. I came to get a French btw. -_- he tells me that he will just put a tip on. I told him I did not want anything added to my nail. He then proceeds to take out his gel system and I again tell him that I do not want anything on my nail and that I would prefer that he cut it. He ignores me and continues to the SNS system. I asked him what is he going to do and he said he was going to try something to sees if it works. He gets through the first set of powder and all of my tips are different sizes. I asked him if he was going to make the white tips equal. He tells me that I should just get a color because he can’t make them look even. I then told him to just forget it and that I would get my nails done somewhere else. The technician begins to take the powder off and then stops midway and tells me I need to pay him now before he finishes. I told him that I would pay him after he removes the powder from my nails. He told me to pay him now or to get out of the shop and told me that I broke my own nail and that he didn’t do it. I told him I would leave. As I am walking out of the door, he threw a glass of water at me. No exaggeration. Literally threw the water at me. I wish I was kidding. I have never been treated in such a manner. I was going to call the police and file a report but I have had such a long morning already. Save yourself the headache. A business that partakes in such a level of unprofessionalism should not be patronized.

It was horrible and I would never go back. Not the money’s worth. I’m concerned with the hygiene also as the lady who did my mani and pedi dropped the tools on the floor a couple times and every time she dropped she would take out used ones from the drawer in her reach and used them on my nails. The coloring is not even and the polish is not smooth. she left something stuck underneath but wouldn’t redo it. She didn’t clean the side cuticles after the coloring is done as shown in the pic.

Tommy and his assistant gave me a wonderful foot massage in July of our COVID epidemic. The massage was fantastic and his assistant was great. I would recommend this locally owned business!

I’ve been coming for about 2 years now and I always have a good experience.Massage chairs, wine, lots of spa services, super friendly staff, and most importantly: OPEN LATE!I literally just walked up at 10:45pm and they let me in and gave me a pedicure.I’ve not had an over cut nail or cuticle, and while they ask, they don’t give hard or sneaky up sells.They take cash, credit, or Venmo, so super convenient!

I came in right before closing because I got off of work so late and Tommy was so kind and patient. He did a fantastic job on my nails and even offered to do my eyebrows afterwards. This is the best spa experience I have had, and I will definitely be coming back! Great place!

Visiting from Detroit area. I am typically salon loyal but took a chance with coming here. Visited 12/22/17 as a walk in for eyebrow waxing and pedicure. Gin was awesome! She did a great job waxing my eyebrows and shaping them to fit my face- couldnt be happier with the outcome. My pedicure was so relaxing and comfortable. She took great care in working with my feet- nice shaping and clean up of nails. Outcome was wonderful. I would visit here again. Side note, a customer was not happy with her service and the staff attempted to correct to her satisfaction and when they could not, in my opinion, they handled the situation very professionally, I hope she felt so too.

I am a reviewer fanatic and I was skeptical about using their services because of the reviews I read. However I decided to give them a try because it was a Sunday and the hours of operations worked for me.Services I received, gel polish (I was satisfied), pedicure (I was satisfied) eyebrows (okay), and lashes (dissatisfied). I never get lashes, but I decided to on this day for a special occasion. This was a horrible experience. Glue was applied to my natural eyelashes, as well, the strip was too; and I had an allergic reaction to the glue. I literally had to apply vitamin E and petroleum jelly to my lashes to separate them and that still did not separate them. It’s been three weeks and the remainder of my lashes are still glued together leaving my eyelids sore and sensitive when I touch them. As I continuously work on separating my lashes they are coming off in chunks. I was told by a friend that hair bonding glue may have been applied to adhere the lashes. Never again!!!

I saw about 4 mice during my visit; so awful😩their colors are not up to date...never going back there!

I used this salon for an eyebrow, underarm and half leg wax whilst visiting DC and was very disappointed. It took several minutes for someone to come and speak to me when I arrived and they seemed to have forgotten my booking even though I had made it via email the same day. The room used for waxing is extremely cramped and there is very little privacy if someone opens the door to walk in and out. The waxing services took almost double the amount of time it would have taken my usual salon back home. It was uncomfortable as the therapist went over some parts of my skin several times and even after that the attention to detail was terrible - there were several patches of hair left afterwards. When I made the booking I was offered a 10% discount for booking several treatment, when I went to pay the discount was only available if I paid cash! They also had the cheek to ask for a tip. Unfortunately I cannot recommend using this salon.

Ive been going to this nail salon for about a year and it seems like the place has a revolving door of staff/employees, theres a reason why. I usually get a gel manicure and regular pedicure, this time there was something wrong with the gel they used on my manicure. After about 5 days almost all of it flaked off. I chalked it up to a bad batch of nail polish and asked to have it redone, manager/guy on the phone agreed and asked me to come in same day. That day I went in, had the gel manicure redone in about 30 minutes and then was asked to pay a $25 repainting fee. Website clearly states that within 10 days you can get your gel redone for free as a gel-guarantee, a very vague promise but its there on the website. Both the manager and the woman who did my nails both back peddled and gave me some excuse as to why that wasnt applicable to this situation. Not worth the headache. Go elsewhere where they care about their regulars.

I HIGHLY recommend this place. I was in a pinch today and had to come in at the last minute. They were so nice and professional even though Im sure they wanted to go home considering its Valentines Day. Ask for Kim if you want a great wax or pedicure. She worked super fast so I could make it to my dinner reservation on time and I am eternally grateful :)

In town for a conference and stopped by, they did an awesome job with my gel - AND they have a 10 day guarantee in case there is a chip! Great service, clean salon, and they use sterilized tools.Only downsides - smells like a nail salon and you have to tell them you want to tip before they run your card otherwise you need to have cash to tip (and who carries cash these days?!)I would go back in a heartbeat - highly recommend!

I was looking for a salon last minute especially since all salons in the area close at 9, but I was lucky to find this place! I called and the nail tech tommy was very nice and helpful and I was able to come in at 11pm to get my nails and toes done! Love this place! Mani/pedis are top notch. Prices are great for DC, and they will give you a discount for paying cash and also for coming during the week. They are open really late, so its even convenient on a week night to take advantage of the special price. Tommy always takes care of his customers and makes them feel like VIPs. Many times I chipped or smudged a manicure doing dishes etc and he will let me come back and fix it for me, even a few days later. My husband loved the hot stone foot massage too. Im going to try the hair services next.

Another service I need to encourage you to do is the eyelash extensions. Tommy gave me the amazing look with eyelash extensions, eyebrow waxed, haircut & color. My Gel manicure lasts really long & he gave me the Guarantee Certificate if anything happens with my gel color I can come back to get it fix but I never need to come back because he always does great job. Their hours are great which are until 9pm. Free wifi & alcohol are big plus. I will come back with friends. Thanks Tommy and friendly staff.

Definitely give this place a zero star. Was in the dc area and 1 of my nails fell off so I decided to get a new set put on. What a joke all my nails were uneven. Looked like a bunch of 3 year olds did them. The only thing they wanted to do was reshape them. That would of made them short. Spent at least 4 to 5 hours at the salon to walk out with awful nails. Showed another salon in the area and they laughed couldn’t get in anywhere else do to my time restraint as I was leaving the next day. Now I have to pay again to have these taken off and a new set put on. Oh not to mention my thumb nail is already lifting off. Please don’t waste your time with this place. Zero stars

DO NOT GO HERE! Ive received a manicure/pedicure at this salon twice. Gave them a second chance, after being disappointed the first time. And OMG! horrendous...the towels and equipment were dirty, the soap in the sink where they asked me to wash hands had been refilled with water. As I sat in the chair to receive a pedicure the lady next to me was complaining that she had paid for a callous removal treatment and he had only scrubbed for 1 minute, likely removing nothing. When I took a shower after getting home the polish coating removed and my nails were incredibly sticky, attracting everything! Im so frustrated! $60 down the drain!! Avoid!!!

I came across this salon in a crunch and was so thankful that Tommy could service me before going out of town on vacation. I had a gel manicure and pedicure that lasted well past my vacation. Clean shop and excellent work. Would def recommend to anyone, I will be visiting again!

After I moved to DC, it took me a long time to find someone I trust do cut my hair. Now I dont go anywhere else! I could tell Tommy was an experienced hair stylist because he didnt make the mistake of cutting my hair as if its straight- its wavy- and giving me a broom head. Ive tried twice before at other places to get a short haircut and the results were horrible. Tommy was the first one to get it right. I got so many compliments at work and from my family. I loved my haircut so much I brought my boyfriend here as well, and Ive never seen him get better haircuts either. He has the same problem where hair stylists dont understand how his hair grows and dont cut it accordingly. Its also pretty neat that you can get your nails done here too and they usually offer your drinks. Nothing like sipping wine while getting a pedicure.

They are conveniently located for me. Everyone has always been very nice and Ive received quality service. However, tonight I found it irritating that since the last time I was there they have established a $20 minimum to use a credit card. This was not made known before I got my eyebrows waxed and the only notification was a small note written in pencil on the one paper on the front desk. Conveniently, they have an ATM on the premises which of course charges money. Im now fairly annoyed because theres nothing I hate more than being charged to access my money and had this been made known to me I could have come back when I had cash. Anyways, its great, but make sure you have cash.

Though the people are very nice, the manicure was not good: bubbles and dust in the polish, which was applied in thick, goopy layers that took forever to dry. No long lasting “cold gel” options, either. All in all a disappointing experience for $16.

I am in DC for a conference. I needed a manicure. Their posted hours indicated they open at 9. I waited until 9:20 when the receptionist arrived & said the staff hadnt showed up but did I want to wait. She thought they might be there by 10. I left.

Very disappointed, it was my first time at the salon today. I was rushed picking the nail polish . As the employee was given me a pedicure . I had to constantly look over because she didnt take the nail polish off correctly I had on. After putting on the nail polish I waited ten minutes asked if the polish was ready. I was told yes .She quickly asked me to make the payment . As she brought me the receipt she was holding on to my card. I had to ask for my card. She told to take money out of the atm for the tip.I go back to my office . I check the pedicure the pedicure was messed up.I had to go back again the same thing happen . I was rushed again send out the door . I get home the pedicure was messed up. I will never go back to that salon. I paid and tip to get a horrible service .sometimes its best to stick to your regular salon when you give other places a chances. Turns out to be a bad service and waiste of time. Will never return or recommend it.

Amazing Service. I ran in last minuet to acrylic re-fill & a pedi. It was near closing and I was worried they would be annoyed a customer came by so close to closing. They were very understanding when I showed them my broken nail. Tommy & Tony are the ones to ask for. Tommy staid late for my acrylic refill. He has a gift! 10/10 & 5/5, Im not joking :).

This is the worst nail salon I’ve ever been to in my life. I will never go back. The service was awful, they had some boy doing my nails who was improperly using a tool that damn near punctured my nail and I made him stop. I was in there for 3 hours just for a mani and pedi. My actual gel nails look lumpy and awful. Thankfully there are plenty of other nail spots in DC that are way better.Sadly I was not the only dissatisfied customer. One girl asked the boy who almost punctured my nail to please stop doing her nails and they had to swap him out for someone else. She also said she would never come back again, partially because of awful service and partially because of the exorbitant length of time in which they take to get the job done.

Im so glad I discovered Hai Gloss. First of all, the location is super convenient. Even more important than that, Tommy and the team are so lovely and can do everything: not just manis and pedis but also massages, hair, waxing and more. They always have great deals and really value their customers. I definitely recommend it!

Really liked the manager here and thought they provided great service (I had a gel pedicure) and tried to get me done quickly in time for my event. One star off as it was a bit pricier than I would have hoped but the staff are kind and attentive.

If I could give zero stars I would. I bought a groupon for a foot massage. I printed the voucher and showed up hoping for a walk in. Nothing available despite staff sitting around. I asked if I can make an appointment. They said no. Why cant I make an appointment in person? They said I have to make an appointment online. I did. Showed up with my printed voucher and they said I needed to provide the voucher number in my email and they turned me away. They are lazy scammers and/or idiots.

Ive always felt pampered here and have been given rockstar treatment without paying salon prices. I recently used a Groupon deal for partial highlights and cut and am thrilled with the results. Nail services are also great - I highly recommend Hai Gloss :-)

Excellent service. Tommy the manager and his team are beyond hospitable and my mani/pedi was perfect. They even gave me a birthday mimosa! Next time Im in DC I will definitely return.

Tommy did such a great job trimming my hair, and hiding the grays to give me that youthful edge for business. The atmosphere is so relaxing its like being at home with friends.

Tick Tock Tick Tock... this is the annoying sound you would hear over your massage session rather a relaxing music!!!! This is actually the sound of the old clock which counts your massage session time!Do not expect a luxurious room: candles, relaxing ambiance, flowers and plants, ...Most of staffs cannot talk even one sentence in English! The therapist even could not tell me take your clothes off in English!The manager (the only person who could talk in English) was so rude and greedy!

Nails look great! Tommy was open during Snowzilla and made my three days being stuck downtown a lot better.

Over priced! I came to get a mani-pedi and told them i had to leave by 4:30.. by time i was ready to leave they had gouged me for $120.00! I noticed that on their price list that they also did massage, so i told them if o had time i would want to get a hot stone. Well, they ended up doing it on my legs, instead of my back.. and after i told them i wanted my back, they still charged me! and it was such a damn waste ! This place gouged me and Ill never go back!

I never write reviews but my full set was ridiculously bad. Please, choose another salon yall. I broke a nail and was on the hunt for a nail salon near me. Came in & waited about 20-30 mins as there were only 2 men in the shop. Im used to this & it was late so I didnt care, I was just happy they were open. One man was working hard on 2 clients while advising the other man (Ill call him Tony). Tony did my nails & from jump I told him I just wanted a replacement nail & fill in, dont file my nails to much. My acrylics were applied so thick & my replacement nail was ridiculously uneven, bevels everywhere, thick and wild looking. I was continuously telling Tony to fix certain things bc I wasnt going to just sit there and pay for bad nails but there was only so much I could see with no polish on my nails just yet if you know what I mean. So he applied the polish and sent me to dry my nails. As Im drying them I notice theres acrylic on my cuticles, under my nails, on my fingers, my coffin shape was a oval and the filling was so uneven you could see the bevels.Never had a set so bad yall. Usually nails arent this serious but this was bad.

I got FUNGUS they reuse towel, so dirty .Dont go there lo l,I am WARNING YOU GUYS DONT SAY YOU DIDNT READ ABOUT IT

Disrespectful Manager. The towels stink, they smell like feet. They Need a better manager and also a price list posted instead of the manager making up prices off the top of his head. I will never go back.

One of the most hurried, least thorough mani/pedicures Ive ever gotten. I should have known this when I was presented a menu that included only the express mani/pedi for what everyone else charges for just a regular mani/pedi. The $40 mani/pedi doesnt include scrubbing off the rough parts - thats extra. Pushing back cuticles consisted of three cursory swipes.Aa if that wasnt enough, the manicurist seemed to enjoy causing pain - cutting nails too short, filing too much, sanding the tops of my toes instead of the nails, buffing like she was trying to start a fire.Avoid this place.

Went in and went right out of there. Place looked like a mess and the one person there looked like she didn’t want to work. It just gave me a bad feeling
