Ive gotten a couple of lovely gel manicures here with nail art. The end results look great and both the technicians I went to were very committed to making the end product look good. I would advise not being afraid to ask for more coats of polish or touch ups where you see the need. Mild downsides are that the manicure tools did not come in sanitary bags and the price was a little steep ($50-60).
Great salon wether you are just stopping by, birthday, just any occasion really they get you right as soon as you walk in from the lovely receptionist and her energy to the nail technician... young and older they do a fantastic job !! Love it. I got a short/medium gel full set in a mint. ITS A VIBE HONEY✨
BEWARE, HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Do not waste your time going here! I had an appointment for 8:30am and they had me waiting in a chair for 40 minutes past my appointment for service. Not to mention, they took several non-minority patrons before walking up to me for service. You are better off spending your money at The Pearl Spa in Columbia, MD where they provide top notch service.
The ladies at Mimosa are very kind and they make sure you are comfortable. On top of that, you get mimosas! You cant beat that... The place is very clean and everyone is professional. Highly recommend.
I wanted to relax and have mimosas while getting pampered. That’s exactly what I got. The staff was very lovely and provided everything I needed. If you don’t want a mimosa, they also serve champagne. Both were refilled very often and I left a little bit tipsy lol. As far as the pedicure, it was very nice and relaxing. We got the VIP fresh jellycure. It was very in depth. The facility was very clean also. Can’t wait to return.
I came in for a fix from a salon that did a horrible job and they took great care of me at Mimosa. The staff was super sweet and I was out the door within an hour, though Lynn took great time end care with my nails and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you!
I love coming to Mimosa ever since it was referred to me about three years ago. It is sometimes hard to find a technician who is consistent with the level of service and professionalism but not here at Mimosa. I have been serviced by a few technicians over the years however of all the technicians, I love going to Jenny. She is thorough with the service, commits the appropriate amount of time for the massages include it with the service, and the finishing is always on point. If you are looking for a professional salon with a very nice atmosphere that caters to patrons of all ages definitely check out Mimosa. Additionally the salon is open until late in the evening so long after most salons have stopped excepting clients, you can be sure to be serviced at Mimosa. PS I can’t forget they offer a choice of champagne, water, or a mimosa with your service.
I got a gel manicure only 3 days ago and my nails look terrible. The gel is already peeling and my cuticles are disgusting. The woman rushed through my manicure and it shows. They were out of almost every color I wanted and had to settle for this. Do not recommend this salon, especially with cheaper better ones so close by!
Jenny did my nails and she was wonderful. She did a thorough job and didnt rush at all. I would go back to her again!
I’ve been visiting Mimosa for several years and always have great experiences — the ladies are very talented and friendly. However, a woman in the salon tonight who appeared to be some sort of manager or owner was extremely abrasive toward one employee in particular. The employee was new and clearly learning the ropes of the job, but was very gracious and sweet and just did not deserve the treatment her boss was giving her. It will be hard for me to go back knowing how this woman treats her staff.
My favorite nail salon around. Highly recommend! Feels very safe during covid times. 100% masks. Always a good experience.

It was a busy weekday evening before Memorial Day and a lot of people and couples were waiting for appointments. It got kinda crazy at one point with the number of people coming in, all chairs were full... One couple even got upset. I have to commend Nikki in the front for maintaining a kind, assertive, and respectful air while also maintaining a fun and low-key vibe for all of us were receiving services within earshot. It made the experience much better for everyone. I have to commend her for her professionalism!

Update: 9/14:***scheduled an appointment for a gel manicure and pedicure. The service was ten times better than my last visit, updated my 1 star review to 4****My last visit to Mimosa Salon was not the best, at all. Technicians along with the front desk will confirm appointments just for you to wait 45minutes - 1 hour after your “scheduled” appointment. Unbeknownst to me, Mimosa Salon changed their payment policies…again.My last visit, they only required Cash App payments. While checking out, there was a hand written note that now says “credit card only”. Of course while checking in, there was a crowd surrounded by the cash register, so how could anybody see a small “hand written note”?The receptionist was borderline rude, short in words and tone, and just not professional at all. After stating over - over again why a hand written note on the corner of the desk could be missed, she finally let me pay via Cash App. Overall, it wasn’t the best experience.Super shocked seeing that I have been to this salon numerous of times. On top of the subpar customer service, there wasn’t any mimosas to be served along with other issues (salon was filled with flies which were on my drink) An actual A for my manicure and pedicure, but my last visit shall be just that.. my last visit.
4 stars for the nails 1 star for the customer service.So I visited the Connecticut ave location Tuesday June 22nd around 2:30 with a friend for pedicure. Pedicure went great we paid and left. Later in the evening I noticed that my debit card wasn’t in my wallet so I dumped my purse and work bag card wasn’t there. I logged into my bank and since my last transaction was at Mimosa I’m like oh it must be there. SoThis was at 10pm and I knew shop doesn’t close till 11pm I decided to give call just to confirm it was there so I could go pick it up the next day.I called and told them I was there earlier in the day and I think I left my debit card there and was told to call back in 15min no at problem I’m sure they are doing closing tasks and needed a min to look.I called back 20 min later phone rang and rang till it was sent to voicemail I did it a few more times and was annoyed but it was late at night so I understood.I tried to call again today when the shop opened at 9 am and that’s when I realized the number posted on the website is someone’s cell phone cause whoever answered was clearly asleep when I called.Literally the same conversation as last but this time I would have wait for this person to get the salon.So instead of engaging with the “run around” I was getting I decided to just eat the Uber charge and head out to my credit union and get a new card before I fly out for my work trip.I am aware it was clearly on me for leaving card behind but like all I wanted was confirmation that I did or did not leave it there.I’ve been coming to Mimosa’s since 2012 and as soon as the city reopened salons I came in masked any ready to give them support because I know it was very hard to be shut down for that long but I think I’m gonna find a new salon to spend my money at.

They are great when youre getting full services, but if you have to come back to get poor work corrected, they are terrible. I really wanted to like this place. Ive been a couple of times. Costs changed but it wasnt bad enough to complain. I just am not happy the way the Male technician yelled at me and embarrassed me in front of the other customers because he had to fix my nails that the other technician messed up. Unfortunately I wont be back.

I purchased a gift card for my girlfriend to use at this location, per the recommendation of one of her friends. She went in to get her nails done on 2/18/21, but she was not allowed to use the gift card because “no one knew how to do it”. I understand that it was also snowier day and road conditions may have made it difficult for some staff to travel. However, how do you train your staff to where not a single person could do a simple transaction? Why would I purchase a service to not have it rendered?To make matters worse, after calling and asking to speak to a manager, one was not available and I was hung up on while asking when a better time to call would be. She still has the gift card obviously, but we are hesitant to use it due to the lack of hospitality and customer service.
If I could give zero stars I would. They had me waiting five hours just to get my nails and toes done. Then they still wanted me to pay full price after taking up my entire day. They told me they don’t have anyone to do acrylic but an hour later, I saw a nail tech doing acrylic on someone else. Then my nails look bad. Never again!!!!!!
I’ve been going here for over 3 years for manicures and pedicures. I’ve gone twice during the pandemic—in July 2020 and in January 2021. They have done a great job of adhering to CDC guidelines. I have always been happy with my nails. Really hope others can support this local business!

My acrylic nails looks terrible. Terrible experience with (Miya). Tomorrow I’m going to need to go to another place to get them fix but, why there is people that doesn’t know how to do nails and they charge 65 dollars ???Alina did my mom and my sister nails, Alina does a very good job.
They do decent nails here but I’ve been coming here since I was a highschooler years ago. There’s always some discrepancy between the price that I’m told and the price that I pay when I leave. I make a lot of money I don’t penny pinch when it comes to my nails but I don’t like when the price is different than what I’m told. I specifically picked a $30 pedicure off the menu and by the time I checked out it was a $40 charge. I didn’t even bother arguing because I was just so over the whole experience. The champagne is cool but service wise you might as well stick to a hood nail shop there’s literally no difference.
After scheduling an appointment at 2:30 today I walked in and was asked what I was here several times by numerous people despite the fact that I made an appointment online for that time for a certain process -- dip gel with tips. They only had two nail techs who were familiar with dip gel however they were both busy, so they had to call in another tech from their salon nearby. I showed the tech the design I wanted and was assured it wouldnt be a problem. She brought tools over in a bag and they did not look clean or sanitized whatsoever. Fast forward into the process, my pinky was sliced TWICE with a nail file as was a cuticle on another finger -- super rough. She was also unable to complete the design i wanted (a thin colored tip) as she was not using the right brush that another nail tech was using at the same time so it was clear that it could have been done. The low stars are for the roughness, dirtiness, and inability to do a simple design. While my nails look fine, I will not be returning.
The ONLY place where I can consistently get my gel nails specifically, and basic mani/pedi generally, done well and done right! Every time I drive in from Baltimore to get my hair done, I make sure to make an appt to get my nails spruced while being pampered. ) Recommended!
I always come to this location for manicures, pedicures and eyebrow waxing. They do a wonderful job with manicures (esp. Gel and Dipping). Their variety of pedicures are great and at a good price points. I also am happy with how safe and clean the location is. Theyve taking good measures to make sure employees and customers are safe. Would highly recommend!
Horrible service. I made two appointments - they were over an hour late on both, rushed, and when I asked about the delay they shared that their reservation system isn’t connected to their store system so they are invalid (even with a confirmation). Plenty of other quality salons in the area- don’t waste your time.
I had previously been serviced by Mark and he provided the best full set I had ever received last year so after quarantine I kept him in mind for my services. He informed me that he did not do gel manicures and would suggest Daisy do my gel manicure and pedicure. Her service was outstanding and my manicure had never looked better. It was a pleasant experience and it was extremely clean. She was truly outstanding. I also had a phenomenal experience with Nicky. She made sure to greet and service everyone in the salon with kindness and also held the staff accountable. She made sure all stations were clean and hygiene standards were maintained. Kudos to Mimosa for having such a great staff. I’ve been back every week since and have even brought friends and family.
The services (manicures/pedicures) that I receive here are first rate from my regular manicurist. But the ongoing loud chatter between the operators is very annoying. And today, masks were out of place on several employees.
It’s small but the extended hours really help you find the time thats right for you and your schedule. Giao was my nail technician and she did a great job and made me feel safe with her precautions and also made me feel at ease with some nice polite conversation. Her attention to detail was fantastic and she continued to check in with me to make sure I was getting what I wanted when it came to nail shape, length and color of the polish.
Of course, I love the bottomless mimosas! Can’t beat the pricing either. Excellent service, especially by Nicky who greeted me at the door and stopped by to make sure I was being taken care of while I got my nails done (dip powder with a matte finish). Definitely will go back for the atmosphere and service!

I wouldn’t even give 1 star to this place if I had a choice. The service was very bad and the owner was very rude to me and also with the employees. They obviously don’t know how to treat the customers right. If you don’t want to have a bad experience please avoid this nail salon, do not recommend it at all.
Best manicure ever - went here with my friend the other day for the first time and we both got a dip manicure. Fast, efficient service with fair prices and my nails look better than ever will definitely come back

I been going to Mimosa for 4 plus years. The service has always been A1 no matter the location but my home location is the one on Conneticut ave nw. Vivian is the best, always nice to the customer and extremely personable. Even fills in and helps her workers out. A true boss. Zara is who does my mani and pedi... SHE IS AMAZING... she does it all and shes the sweetest... love it there
Ive had my nails done here countless times, starting years ago. Went to different places for a while, trying to find something closer to home (live in Maryland, work in DC) and ended up returning to them when someone else botched my nails and I needed a place I could trust to fix them. I get SNS and like my nails looking as natural as possible. Not sure Ill try finding another place anytime soon.
I dont recommend this place to anyone. I walked in received horrible service I wasnt greeted, offered a beverage and was assaulted by the owner. The owner sat me down to do my nails while she was doing another persons nails its Covid she didnt even wash her hands as she switched from person to person. I asked if she can get someone who was free to do my nails and she called a gentleman over. He didnt greet me at all. My nails are uneven and not done. They demanded I pay prior to my service being completed no other guest had to do and they never mentioned that to me. I demanded my service be complete prior to me paying and they refused I contacted the police to resolve the issue and was punched in the face by the owner of the salon where I had to go to the hospital. I highly recommend you go elsewhere. Terrible for business .
I am very unhappy with the poor service I received today. I have never been so upset with this establishment before. I will not be returning. I left with one foot gel polish removed and the other with aluminum foil still wrapped. The owner refused to service me because I explained that I had never been charged for the removal of gel polish . She explained to me it was in the book but couldn’t show me in the book so she refused to service me . I never said I wouldn’t pay the additional $5, I was already paying $75 for a pedi, what’s $5 more? 😭
They are not the same as pre-pandemic. I’m really disappointed in my first experience getting my nails done again. My friend and I had an appointment but we were clearly treated differently based on the amount we were going to spend. If you are getting multiple services, you will be given much better customer service and shorter wait times. My gel acrylic full set broke the next week and I came in for a repair. This location stated they had no one who could do acrylic and I needed to walk a block to their other location. When I arrived, I was told to go back to the other location and get the color. So I did that. When I returned I sat for 20 minutes before being told that everyone was busy and it would be a very long wait. I asked why the woman who told me to get the color started another client when she knew I was returning with the color for one nail repair. No one could answer that. They just didn’t want to do it and I left. I won’t be returning after being a customer for the past 4 years. The quality of work is not the same and they keep changed locations and manicurist it’s just not worth it.
Amazing service, this by far has been one of the best pedicure experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the bottomless mimosas they don’t cheap out on the quality of the champagne. The owner was super attentive making sure our visit was was amazing.
We made an appt at 6:15 at this specific location and we got a confirmation email and everything. We get there and they wave us off telling us they didn’t have the technicians to help us and that they were too busy to deal with us or check the other location if they had spots for us.......barely anyone was in there. The staff was extremely rude and should be fired truly.

The service was bad/ poor. What I asked for was completely different from what I received. Completely dissatisfied. This will be the last time I come there. It looked like I needed a refill. There were so much nail space undone. They did not fully paint my nails. Very poor job. The tech was an amateur. I paid 90 dollars for a full set. It was extremely shorter than I asked for. The design looked awful. I would highly recommend a different place. I asked for a dark pink color and I received clear.

First time visiting, everyone was professional until I sat down for my full set with Anthony. He was extremely tough to the point that I had to pull away multiple times. He was moving extremely fast and couldn’t stay off of his phone. I felt very uneasy leaving the establishment.
Nikki at the front desk of the 1623 location was soooooo amazing, she was very professional, respectful, fun and followed covid guidelines . She is every costumers best friend . I CANT WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN BECAUSE OF HER !!!!!
I’ve been going here for years and every time I go to another salon that isn’t a Mamosa salon, I regret it. The Mimosa salons are the best nail salons in the area. There always consistent with quality and give great massages.

This was my first time there. The people are very nice. I had a set removed and a full set done. The owner removed my nails, and I love how they soak the nails off not force them. I didn’t get the lady name who finished my nails off, but she did tell me that she was doing nails since she was 17. The atmosphere is wonderful and I would go back, but not to the same lady. The first thing is I had to tell her that there were gaps between my nail and the tips. Which was one of the reasons I had them removed. I feel like the filing on some of my nails made them not straight. There was a lot of produce buildup under my nails, and she cut me twice. On two different fingers. And she didn’t stop, she kept filing and then had me wash my hands. After that is when she applied alcohol to the two cut fingers. When I told her how long I wanted them she told me that it was too long for me to have with my 2 month old baby and I told her I didn’t think so( I’m use and comfortable with long nails and my baby, I know she won’t get scratched because they are not sharp). Needless to say at the price that is charged, I’m not that pleased with the work that was done.

UPDATE: I have sense my bad review revisited mimosa on their behalf and they took very good care of me! Vivian scheduled for me to be seen by her but with some schedule conflicts Iona I ended up being seen by Duncan. I am not disappointed he took very good care of me. He took his time despite my time crunch (has to be to work not to long from when I arrived). He was detailed and completed an entire full set service cuticles and all! He took his time making sure my nails were even and all snapped the same. He also worked extra hard to make sure my nails arched a particular way do to how my fingers are angled (the tops of my fingers point upward 😭) but all in all he was amazing! I recommend him for all future appointments. It’s been about a week since I got my nails done and I put off the review to see if my nails would hold up this time and they did. All still in tack and still very sturdy. Very happy customer. Thank you guys for taking care of me.
I just walked into this place to use the bathroom and I instantly had to sit down to get something done a hang nail😂, feet, brows, ANYTHING! Because the atmosphere was EVERYTHING! They actually serve you a wine or mimosa for FREE! If youre getting service. It is clean and very modern! Its a bit more than Im used to spending but Im definitely going back!🥰

HORRIBLE. UNPROFESSIONAL. DISRESPECTFUL.I booked an appointment online. I arrived and was greeted with signing a waiver of liability agreement, I declined. The hostess proceeded to take my temperature, I immediately declined. At this point, she waves for the manager. The manager approaches and starts taking my temperature, I immediately declined again. He begins to talk about what DC says he has to do to operate and I ask him to see the DC Law that states every customer entering must have their temperature checked. I went outside and he soon follows and wants to explain further about everything except showing me the DC Law staring that every customer entering must have their temperature checked. He begins to raise his voice so at this point I walk away.I went to a nail salon within walking distance and was greeted and not forced to take my temperature.
I hadn’t had a haircut in the whole first year I moved to DC. I was down and felt I was letting myself go. I booked an appointment with Nikki and she did such a beautiful job. She was so welcoming and friendly. The place is nice, clean and quiet. Awesome costumer service and great prices. I feel pretty again and so happy I found an awesome hair stylist in the area. Highly recommend Nikki to everyone looking for a great haircut and blowout.
Philip did such an amazing job on my nails!! I absolutely LOVE them. He was friendly, gentle, and took his time shaping and caring for my nails. Asked for a soak off, full set acrylic and designs/gems. While he works efficiently, the quality of work was not compromised. Please ask for Philip when you go!!!
I was very happy with my experience here. We came in on New Years Eve and it was very busy, but we were still seated right away and given good service. I would maybe try to pay online next time, since apparently youre supposed to get a discount. Excited to come here again!
They stay open super late even on Sundays. Its crowded but you never have to wait. Im pretty sure they have every nail polish color in the entire world. The customer service is really awesome and the fact that they offer champagne is definitely a bonus. I highly recommend going on Sunday nights since there is always parking

I got a manicure and my significant other got a Brazilian wax, pedicure, and eyebrow wax. They ended up cutting my skin during the manicure, they did clean it up & fix the nail though. We asked about prices because they were different online and the owner got very hostile when telling us how he owned so many stores & defending his prices. They ended up burning my significant other when she got her Brazilian done, she had skin lifting up from the burn. Her pedicure & eyebrows did turn out good though.
I booked my appointment online given COVID-19 and the phase 2 reopening requirements. I booked for a milk and honey manicure and pedicure as well as a deep tissue massage. Ultimately, I only received the manicure and pedicure but was charged more than what I was told through the website. When I inquired about my massage I was told the person had not shown up that day, which I wasn’t informed of when I checked in. The hostess even went as far to suggest I don’t book online but call to schedule because the pricing and services online are incorrect, which makes no sense given the details and updates on COVID-19 they make sure are present on the site. I would not recommend going to the Connecticut Ave. location.
Amy is such an angel! She made sure I was happy every step of the way, and when my shoes messed up my pedicure (my toes weren’t completely dry and I didn’t realize it) she had no hesitation in helping me by fixing it
This is my go-to relaxation spot. As soon as you come in you choose your color and had to your chair where youre offered either I Mimosa, champagne, wine, or water. For pedicures they put rose petals and oranges in your water which just adds a little Special Touch to the Ambiance of the pedicure. Everything is sterile and clean which is something I look for in a nail spa. I recently tested out the dip for my nails and it last pretty long as well as takes very little time for them to complete. Also if youre a woman on the run like myself they let you eat while they do your pedis.
I love going to Mimosa! You are always greeted warmly and immediately made to feel welcome. You can make an appointment or just walk in and they always seem to be able to take you right away. They offer champagne and mimosas while you are receiving your service. The workers are very friendly and nice. The woman who did my nails was very gentle and my nails came out beautifully. I dont want to go anywhere else for my nails, even though its a bit of a distance from my home!

Mimosa over at Mimosa Beauty Salon is so talented at cutting and coloring my hair! I first came in to have her fix my color and fell in love with her work ever since. Shes very attentive in what you want done and never tries to push you to do otherwise. My hair has been way healthier by going in for trims with her every 8 weeks. If you need a cut and color, you cannot go wrong with booking Mimosa Beauty Salon! :)Side note to all the brides to be: she also does up-dos! Perfect for your engagement / wedding day. My photos turned out so well thanks to her styling!
I made an appointment days ago and when I got there they said they couldn’t take me because they don’t keep track of their appointment system. If you’re a busy person, I’d take my business elsewhere.
