Daiva did an amazing facial and was very professional and knowledgeable about what she does. Her recommendations are great. She explains every step of the way during each treatment. First met Himself (Roi) in Milton, De when I stopped to admire his lovely Victorian home and garden. I lived a few blocks up the street. Who would have thought years later, Id be living up the street from Salon Roi. With me in the chair and he the master hair dresser,Roi and I bonded over our shared sorrow of losing a spouse to dementia. His kindness and gentle demeaner sets the tone. Starting with Evelyn at the desk, Salon Roi has always provided me genuine hospitality along with excellent service.

There is no one better than Fouziya. My sister introduced me to her and I drove up from Charlotte for a haircut! I adore her. I’ve never had a better haircut.

Daiva gives the best facials. My skin has never been so happy. She makes great product recommendations and is quite knowledgeable about how to best maintain my skin. Very happy!!

Salon Roi has everything you need and more! I first went because my friend does facials there. I HIGHLY recommend the facials by Zakiya because they’re relaxing, fun, and you feel rejuvenated after each appointment. She walks you through the steps and the importance of each thing that happens during the facial. I’ve also started going for my haircuts here as well since the one I used to go to closed due to Covid. Alicia does a marvelous job each time! I keep getting compliments from the haircut I got yesterday!Even in the middle of the pandemic, I feel safe coming in each and every time. Employees and clients all have masks and the front desk makes sure to do a quick temperature check when you walk in. My only regret is not realizing that could have gone to Salon Roi sooner! (Especially since it’s right down the road). Much love for this place. I can’t recommend it enough.

If youre going to charge for fixing a color that was wrong in the first place after a specific amount of time has happened, and I color I tried to like so that there wouldnt be a need to fix it, you need to mention that before its done and in faced with the bill. I couldnt come earlier because I was out of the country. And no one told me they would charge me because x amount of time had done by. Plus, had I known I was being charged I wouldnt have gotten an additional blow dry. The stylist was great but this is terrible customer service and communication, even if you applied a 20% discount. Im sad because I liked everything. But Im never coming back because of this experience.Plus, its been three days, one wash with sulfate free shampoo and this is my hair today. I asked for ash dark blonde, this was supposed to be a correction. The lighting in the salon tricked me into believing this fix had actually achieved that. But this color is too warm and brassy for only one wash

In one of my first ventures out of my house since COVID 19 became a threat to the DC area in March, I went to a place that has more than earned my trust over for years, Salon Roi. While I had postponed a much wished for a haircut for months, I found the experience to be comfortable, reassuringly safe, even, dare I say, normal? To put it plainly: these people know what they are doing to assure their clients’ well-being, while continuing to offer wonderful services.My temperature was checked when I first arrived, with the same type of “aim and click” thermometer my doctor’s office uses. It took just a moment and did not feel at all invasive. Everyone was wearing a mask, both the salon team and clients. Since I have enjoyed the eclectically refreshing décor of Salon Roi for years, it was a bit strange at first to see the adaptations the salon has made to assure client safety, including barriers and more spacing between stations, however, the same Salon Roi calm, welcoming ambiance still radiates. The salon is limiting the number of appointments being booked, and has intensified its cleaning protocol (of course, the salon always has been spotless).My husband and I have been deeply committed to social distancing and can count the number of doors that aren’t part of our house that we’ve walked through since mid-March. We’ll continue to be extremely prudent and selective in our ventures. That understood, my first haircut in six months felt wonderful, and, looks even better. Any concerns I had about visiting Salon Roi during these unusual times disappeared within moments of my arrival there. I’m very happy that the experience both felt safe and was comfortable and enjoyable.

My wife and I are from out of town and were in D.C. to attend an event dinner. She was very concerned about how she was going to ready herself for the occasion. To ease her mind (and with her permission), I made her an appointment for hair and makeup at Salon Roi, which had excellent online reviews. They treated her like royalty and were attentive to her specifications of what she was hoping for. They exceeded her expectations and she was stunning for the event!

Love this place! Roi has been cutting (and coloring) my hair for 15 years. He is a wonderful person, with a warm heart and such interesting stories to tell! Eva manages the schedule and keeps everyone happy - she is so professional. Blanca is also an excellent stylist. and Marita is prefect for nails. They did all the prep for my friends wedding party - and it was a big success.

I love this salon so much! Blanca is the stylist I use and she is awesome. Everyone is very friendly and I enjoy the space which is a huge old townhouse. The prices are good too ... they fairly compensate for the job done but are not over the top like a lot of DC salons!

I’ve been coming to Salon Roi for monthly facials with Zakiya for over a year and I can’t live without them now! Every experience has been perfect and I couldn’t recommend the salon (or Zakiya!) more.

Have been coming back here regularly for all my beauty procedures for more than a year now since I discovered this salon. Very good price and quality ratio too. Highly recommended!

I did balayage and they messed up my hair completely, in addition to damaging it. I don’t recommend this salon to anyone.

I love the service. I went there for wedding make up and hair look so beautiful, my make up was flawless for my wedding day, they charge me $250 less than other salons asked for and my hair was so amazing looking. My wedding pics look so great!!! Thank you Roi and Staff!!!!

I’m from out of town but travel frequently to DC. The humidity here makes my hair difficult to style, so I’ll often get a blowout during my stay. Salon Roi was near my hotel so decided to give it a try based on good reviews. Alicia did an amazing job...I’ll definitely be back next visit!

Had my hair done with Fouzia today! She is a BRILLIANT!!! Ive never had such a perfect color in my life! She did full highlights and i almost got compliments not only for hair color, but also for hair style she made! Go to Fouzia if you want to get high quality service! Totally recommended.

Yesterday, Friday, I had my hair highlighted by Alicia and cut and styled by Roi. The next morning I was at the gym pedaling on the stationary bike when another client of the gym passed by. I had a fabulous facial with Zakiya. It was thorough and calming and I came away with a really clean and nourished face and skin, and so much more relaxed than when I arrived.

I found salon Roi when I arrived in DC 2018 on Groupon. As we all know - not all groupons are good...but I totally hit the jackpot with Blanca! First the historic Iconic Marilyn Bldg and the staff that treats you like family - then the products (I was specifically looking for aveda) and then the magic! My hair is dyed, dry and hormonal oh! Also grey resistant to color! lol. My style isn’t old - but I like longer hair. - I never even said what I wanted, Blanca just did it. Oh did I mention hair is Red? The hardest color. She’s amazing. It last forever, looks young and healthy - bouncy- she never uses heat tools except blow dryer - and I get hugs and smooches when done all in 1.5 hours! I love her and will get to keep her another year before we move :/ - so I’ll just send for her.Love love love my experience with Salon Roi, it’s been 14 months of happy hair😘

I arrived in DC with no idea about where to find a hairdresser and was fortunate enough to find Salon Roi online and, on turning up out of the blue, to find that they were able to squeeze me in. I travel all over the world and have been to hairdressers in many different cities: this is one of the best. It also turns out to have a 47 year old history with a wonderful story and, judging from the conversations around me, a clearly very loyal long term clientele. Thank you Salon Roi.

I came here the first time because of a Living Social deal for three facials and I have been very impressed. Although the building is old, the service is great and thats what really counts. I have had many facials over the years for my trouble-skin, and Zakiya does some of the best. She really knows what shes talking about in terms of what is good for your skin and what it needs. Lucky for me, I got a half-off coupon to go back now that my three facials are done otherwise I wouldnt be able to go.

Daiwa is amazing! She is a Nurse and Esthetician and is genuinely concerned about your health holistically. I guarantee she wont disappoint you. It is located in a three-story house and the parking is the worst, but if you can get beyond that... make your appointment today for a massage or facial!

Roi understands curly hair and always does a great job. He is also quite accommodating in fitting me in. These are just two of the reasons Ive been coming to him for many years.

I was a bit scared by some of these yelp reviews, but I had a really nice facial with extractions by Daiva. No breakouts or other bad facial aftermath. She answered my questions about skin care without being pushy and trying to sell me products.The salon itself is not particularly polished or swanky and things look a little old, but it was clean.I would gladly come back for another facial with Daiva.Note that I used my groupon without any issue whatsoever.

Bought 3 facials though Groupon. I must say it has been the best Groupon purchase I have ever made. Zakiya is amazing. My face feels and looks like someone 20 years younger. You have to check them out. Also they are literally steps from Woodley Park Metro, so it is very convenient!

$55+tip gel manicure lasted exactly one week. Wouldn’t go back here.
