So my nails came out well, but it wasn’t what I asked for. I wanted tips and then a dip french manicure. What I ended up with was tips, smoothed other with dipping powder, then a gel manicure. It’s not that different except I hate gel and how bulky/fat it makes my nails, not to mention is doesn’t last as long. I’m sad because they put so much time into them and they cost so much but they really aren’t what I wanted and wish I had gone somewhere else :(

I came to this salon because it’s on my commute. However I really like this service. I had to come a few months back because I had gotten some nail work that was poorly done at another place, the staff there was able to get me back on track and my nails have grown tremendously. I would recommend the salon to anyone and will continue to go there as long as I am living in the district. I love supporting a family business and it’s even better when you are treated like family too.

Super disappointing. Less than 3 days after my appt the top layer of my dip nails is peeling off. Also, it just looks sloppy. The nail tech didn’t cover the entire nail on some fingers, it looks like I already have new growth on some because of this. It honestly looks like someone attempted dip powder for the first time at home- which for $55 is frustrating. I considered going back and asking them to fix it but I don’t really trust their work at this point with how quickly my nails are falling apart. Also disappointed because I found them to be super nice and it’s convenient to me, but there’s too many other options in DC/Arlington to settle for super basic and sloppy work.

My go to nail salon in DC! The service is always clean, friendly, relaxing and high quality. Ive received many compliments on my nails after going to this salon with many people asking if I do gel, that is how good even their regular manicures are :-). You wont be disappointed!

Dont go here.I went to get my gel manicure removed and they didnt know what they were doing. They didnt even get the manicure off and told me they were done so I had to point out to them the left-over manicure on my fingers. This process was repeated multiple times. When they couldnt get my nails off, they told me to dip my fingers in a bag filled with acetone. What in the world is the purpose of going to a nail salon if youre going to be sitting there dipping your fingers in acetone? I had to pull away during the session a couple of times because they were grounding my skin. Although my gel manicure is all gone, so are half of my nails. Thanks to this place, Im now left with thin, chipped nails.They also charged me $12 instead of $8 for gel manicure removal even after leaving my nails in a mess. I would have never stepped a foot in this place if I knew the quality of the service was going to be this bad.This place doesnt even deserve 0 star.

I have been in the area a while, but was being a bit picky with finding a good nail salon. I came across this 4 ⭐️ location. Easily made an appointment online, arrived early and they had no trouble starting me before my appt. I got gel mani and pedi done at the same time - greatly appreciated to save time. Especially since it took a little while longer than expected for toes (perhaps he was new). And they let me sit for 20 mins while my toes dried since I didn’t have sandals. I would definitely go back again!

I came here because it was close to work and got the worst gel manicure. It was so rushed and I had to ask before she put the first coat on if I should pick a color because I was rushed to the chair the second I walked in. Not to mention I got sass when I asked to correct the shape of certain nails. My nails look sloppy and slanted and I will not be coming back and not recommending this place again.

Ive gotten my nails done 4x in a row here and can confidently say its the best nail salon Ive been to in my 6 years in DC. I get gel manicures, and each time the nails have lasted (no cracks, no breaking, no nothing) until Ive had to get them done again. Ive also never had to wait. The technicians are friendly and have great attention to detail. Its not the cheapest nail salon Ive visited in DC, but for the service and quality of work - I happily pay a couple dollars more! They also accept tips on credit cards, which I know some salons dont.Tip: Come later in the day or on the weekend when theyre not as busy.

I visited Patsys on my lunch break as it is a few blocks away from my work. I was hoping on the off chance of going in around 11 there wouldnt be to much of a crowd. I walked in and they were able to start me right away as there was only about 2 or 3 other people in there at the time. I asked for a gel full set and I had NOTHING on my nails at the time. Jessie, was the woman who started me. I showed her a picture of the shape that I wanted which was just narrow square with a little length. By the time she even started putting the tips on almost an hour had passed. When she finally started to put the powder on for the acrylics I asked her not to thick as I like a thinner more natural nail. Once she was done with the powder they were to think so I asked her to thin them out. At first they looked ok so I went ahead with her putting the gel on. Again, let her know I dont like a thick coat for the polish. Once she was finished it was not about an hour and half of being there my nails were terrible. They were EXTREMELY thick and no where close to the shape they were to be after the polish. Another woman had to come over (not sure her name) and fix them. They had to buff out the polish completely and almost start over to fix the shape. Once she was finished the shape and thickness was much better but still not what I wanted. At this point I had already been here for two hours. The worst part about the experience is they were not very apologetic for the fact the service took two hours but the fact they had to re do them. Lastly, when I went to pay they basically were charging me FULL PRICE for them. She offered to take $5 off and tried to charge me $70. I persisted that that is terrible customer service and there needs to be more of a discount. Ultimately she took 15% off but it was still over charged. I was really hoping I would have a good experience here as I have been searching for a nail salon since I moved to DC and it is so close to my work but I unfortunately will not be back to this place.

I have been going here for several months now and overall it’s much better than anywhere else I have been in the area. My manicures always last a week and I tend to be hard on my hands.I always use my own polish - but they seems to have a good selection.The one consistent challenge that I gave is that even when I have an appointment and they are not busy, I have to wait between 10-15 minutes before someone starts my manicure. Keep this in mind when scheduling appointments.

I went there for the first time last Wednesday. Nina did my pedicure and she is amazing. All the ladies are very friendly. However my gel manicure (done by a different technician) started to lift after couple of days. Six days later gel on almost every nail is lifted which is very upsetting. If I do go back I will request Nina to do my nails.They do serve champagne which helps to unwind when getting your nails done🥂😊

Really horrible experience at this place.... would rate zero stars. I have been getting my nails done all over the country, and this place was the worst I’ve ever been too. The nail tech was insanely rude, didn’t communicate with me, physically moved me around instead of vocalizing, yelled at me to hurry picking my nail color, and refused to give me the nail shape I asked for. I just left because I couldn’t handle the rudeness and lack of professionalism.

Booked online the same day. They were running behind, but they called to make sure that was okay and gave me the chance to get some other stuff done. Great pedicure was the result!

I just went in for the very first time and got my eyebrows waxed. It cost $13, which is a little more than I usually pay, but I walked in just after 10:30am and they were able to see me immediately, which was so convenient I couldnt pass it up. The space is very clean. The woman who did the waxing was AMAZING. She is sweet, friendly and gentle. I finally have two eyebrows again--yes! Honestly, her work deserves five stars. However, I feel obliged to take one away because of the snotty receptionist. She actually seemed nice when I went in, but she asked for my phone number while I was paying and I apologetically told her that I only have a cell phone and Id rather not give the number out.Its fine, she replied, rolling her eyes; dismissive. Her attitude let me know that it was definitely not fine. So for that, four stars.Just a quick note--they let me tip, begrudgingly, via credit card.

I was in DC and really needed my nails done before a conference the next day. Patsys had great reviews on Yelp and I was expecting a lot considering the raving reviews. Unfortunately, I was not blown away. A gel manicure cost $40 and did not include removal of previous gel. The actual salon was a little off putting, it was a three story building that definitely needs renovation. Beyond that, my technician was nice and did a good job.

Very clean. I didn’t have to wait. The tools are sterilized and packaged. I felt very comfortable and welcomed. Will definitely go back next time I’m in DC

Probably the best pedicure Ive ever had! Going on three weeks and its still perfect, and not even gel.I walked in without an appointment on a Thursday after work and they fit me in right away. Mai did an amazing job!A little pricier than some of the other places downtown but since it has lasted this long I think its worth it.

I absolutely love Patsys, Ive been coming here for the past few years and have always had pretty great experiences, but today was outstanding. Id managed to hurt my finger pretty badly the other day (didnt break a nail though, thank goodness!) so it was still sore when I came in for an SNS removal/new SNS today. But the technician (Viet Hung Nguyen, I think) was so careful and so nice! Plus he gave me one of my top 3 manicures. I am so happy with how my nails look. I highly recommend Patsys!

Saw so many positive reviews and was disappointed to not have a similar experience. I walked in and was told I could have my acrylic set removed and put back on. An older woman was working with me but when I asked her questions she would not respond at all. It was clear that she did not understand what I was there for because she then proceeded to abandon my nails and start with another customer, who she offered a drink to immediately and then offered me one as a side note.I will say that the woman who appears to be in charge was wonderful. She came over and was very friendly and explained that they wouldnt have time for me today but we could make another appointment. She took off my acrylics and I paid $12, but had spent well over an hour there. Im sure my experience was an anomaly, looking at the other reviews, but I will not be back and would not recommend being treated by the older woman.

This place is WORTH IT. The service is fantastic. Shortly after I left, I went to lunch and ruined one of my nails and all I had to do was call, and the woman assured she can fix my mistake FREE OF CHARGE. They are truly a wonderful, caring group of women and I will definitely come back.

They have two stories and they do manicures, pedicures, eyebrows, waxing, massages and so on. Lucy did my mani/pedi and waxing. I am very satisfied with the results. The place could be a little cleaner though. But they do serve drinks ☺️

First time i made an appointment for gel removal I walked out. I called around 9am and made an appointment for 5pm. I arrived promptly at 5 and saw there were no available techs. I asked the receptionist if she could see my appointment on the books and she avoided confirming that it was there. She said they would see me in 5 minutes. I waited until 5:20 and walked out. Decided to give them another chance because its right across the street from my office. Made an appointment for 3:30 and was not seen until almost 4:00. it was hard to be upset when Necole did just an amazing job and she is completely thoughtful and sweet. they need to allow more time. They also need to either make walk-ins wait or hand off when appointments show up. Timing is terrible but the do great nails.

Honestly, one of the most terrible experiences of my lifetime. This place doesnt even deserve 1 star. The service was extremely horrible and they were very rude to my friends and I. One of the women who worked there threaten to call the cops on my friend because she asked for LOTION! Are you serious? Also, my friend finger got cut by the woman who did her nails and the manager was very unapologetic. She started to raise her voice to my friends and I and all we were trying to do were talk to her about to issues. She also walked over to my friend and snapped In her face and said she will call the cops because she is not a customer, which we all were. Overall, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON EVER!

I paid top dollar based on their recommendation that I try the new SNS nails that were supposed to be stronger and last longer than gel. I usually get pink and white gel which never breaks. One week passes and every nail is snagging on my clothes and 7 nails are either chipped or completely broken. Seven out of ten! A waste of time and money!

Me and 3 friends came in here tonight 10/25 and the women treated us HORRIBLY. My friend was getting her acrylics filled in and the tech cut her finger. Instead of apologizing, she barked at her and tried to overcharge her for basic services. The manager threatened to call the police after we asked her why she raised the price. Because we werent getting any services done, she yelled at us and said she didnt want to deal with us. We asked her why she was calling the police and she got in our faces and literally snapped at us. We left the salon with her yelling at us and making us feel very unwelcomed. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD.

I set up an appointment over the phone with the receptionist letting her know that I had to be out by 5:30. I requested a pedicure and full set. Upon arrival, no one was expecting me. The acrylic was not done well. I spent nearly two hours at this salon. My acrylic nails were done very poorly. 6 days later 3 of the tips are already separated from my nails. The polish on my my nails and toes chipped IMMEDIATELY. I spent a total of $96 (including tip) and while both ladies were extremely nice I will never go to this salon again.

I had the worst experience in that place last night, I went to get a gel manicure the receptionist told me to wait 30 minutes which was fine for me anyways was less than that but the receptionist told me to choose a color three minutes before they do my nails & I was looking for a navy blue she told me they didn’t have that but I could look for one similar like that but the lady who was doing my nails she got mad when I asked her for two colors to try making faces in front of me which is unprofessional & bad service I ending getting a color on my nails that I wasn’t even looking... totally unsatisfied I wouldn’t recommend anybody to get their nails in there... I read the reviews before going there I saw a few bad reviews but I was like let’s give it a try but I totally agree with all people that has come there bc the staff is very rude.... it doesn’t even deserve one star!

I am in town for work this week, and have really wanted to try an SNS manicure. Ive only ever had a basic polish manicure, so I wasnt sure what to expect. I read reviews of several places in DC and decided to try Patsys. They were able to take me right away as a walk in, most likely because it was pouring rain and the first thing on most peoples mind was probably not getting their nails done when theres a monsoon. I was assigned to Lucy, and she was great!! I did not tell her it was my first time with SNS, but she was very gentle and meticulous, which tells me she is probably that way with everyone. The entire process took just over an hour, and the tools she used were sterilized in their own sealed package. The total price was $50 before tip, which is about $15 more than where I live in a suburb outside Philly (according to my research), and thats the only reason I knocked off one star. However, the experience was great and my nails look fantastic! If you dont mind spending $50 for a manicure that should last several weeks, and you happen to be in DC, I definitely recommend Patsys.

I knew that going into Patsys was going to cost me a little bit more than what I normally pay for my nails, but it was worth it. They treat you like a special guest, and my nails were done exactly how I wanted them done. Very happy to know there is a place close to my job, just in case a need a my nails done, and cant get to my regular spot.

Wow! I tried this place while visiting D.C. this summer and I have to say im a happy customer. I had a shellac manicure and a pedicure and they both turned out beautifully! They pay great attention to detail. Its a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Will come back next time im in town.

Worst Experience I Have Ever Had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I walked in to get a fill-in and asked the receptionist how much would it cost. She told me $28, I took that to be a good price and waited to get service. I was eventually taken up stairs to get my nails done where I constantly was being asked to switch from chair to chair. I moved back and forth between tables the entire time I was getting my nails done, which was annoying and strange to me. In the process of getting my nails filed and shaped my thumb was cut with the file in several places. While she shaped my nails, Inobserved that my thumb nail was shaped differently from the rest and asked for a new tip for that nail. The nail tech agreed to it and did the process of filling, shaping and filing for my thumb. When that was complete I was told to go downstairs and pay. I went down stairs and the same receptionist who told me $28 upped the price to $33 because a tip was added on my thumb. I did not agree with the up charge and explained to the receptionist that I would not pay $33 but I would pay the original $28. She argued with me about the price and I finally said “My thumb was cut up by your nail tech, I should not be paying anymore than I was told”. The receptionist got upset and attempted to snatch my card from me; she charged me the $28. I went back upstairs to get my polish put on and to dry. When the nail tech finished she left and went downstairs without any mention to me that she was leaving. About 20 mins have passed and I hear a yell up the stairs to come down and dry downstairs. The nail tech put me under a UV light in attempt to dry my nails and then she disappeared. I realized the light was not drying my nails and asked another nail tech can I get a fan. This nail tech look confused and told me to ask someone else for a fan. So I went and sat at a chair where a fan was so I could dry my nails. By now I am completely annoyed with how these women treated me during my entire time there. So the lady who knew nothing about the fan comes and sits across from where I am, and begins to check my nails. I ask her for lotions and if she could finish me up so that I could leave out. She pulls out the lotion and squirts it into my hands and begins to walk away. I asked the lady can you lotion my hands in and she responds “no” and laughs then begins to speak in her native language to the receptionist. The receptionist then comes over to me and tells me that “lotion does not come with your service”. I was confused because every other customer that got serviced, without asking got lotion and a hand massage. So I explained to her how everybody else in the salon got their hands lotioned and she begins to get very rude with me. She responded “you only paid $28... you got a little cut”. I paid for a service regardless of how much I paid, I should be getting the full service that I paid for. As I was explaining this to her, the receptionist threatened to call the police on me. She seriously threatened to call the police on me because I asked why I could not get my hands lotioned like every other customer. The receptionist began to get even more rude and said “I do not want you here”. So I left with my friends and as I was leaving I told her that she will never have to worry about my service again. I was disgusted with the entire situation. I believe that everyone should be treated equally no matter the race, ethnic group, etc. Patsy’s Nail Bar does not display that they value fair treatment.

One note on old reviews: this place was purchased by a new and wonderful owner sometime in the past few years. So I recommend looking only at reviews from past year or so (not sure exactly when purchase/flip occurred). Staff and service is wonderful, appointment times are honored, results are great (I have done mani/pedi only but know of a few very happy waxing fans). The owner is a delight. You should go! Get a drink too -- icing on the cake. And their massage chairs are actually comfortable. :)

I was in town for work over Mothers Day weekend and wanted a pedi so did some Google searches for a salon within walking distance. The sweet lady let me know that they could see me. I was greeted and made to feel ssssooo welcome! She offered me a drink so red wine it was! My pedi was the best one of my life and I even sprang for the additional 10 minute foot massage which was uh-mazing! I truly enjoyed my experience and would love to come back one day if im back in town! DEFINITELY recommend Patsys!! Thank you for making my day special!

They treat black people different from their white customers. Serving their white customers wine and their black customers get nothing. Also their overall attitude towards their black customers is without patience and a hurry up and buy type of attitude. It’s sad. Won’t be returning here at all.

I deeply believe that if you are not 5 minutes early, you are late, so being 25 to 30 min late and no explanation given what so ever is a DISASTER!! Will not be coming back any time soon nor recommending it ANYMORE!!

We found Patsys by accident when our appointment at another salon fell through - it was truly serendipitous! Patsys is reasonably priced, well-located, and the quality of the services is excellent. Plus, you cant beat the free champagne and lovely customer service! Within my first 10 minutes at the salon, I broke my champagne glass, spilled my complimentary snacks all over the floor and shattered an entire bottle of nail polish. I assumed my idiocy would render me persona non-grata, but no! The staff were so gracious and forgiving - they worked hard to make sure I was comfortable and have always welcomed me back since. Patsys is also great for group appointments, just be sure to make reservations ahead of time if you want to have your mani/pedis done at the same time.
