Made an appointment and they were ready for me when I arrived. Great selection of colors and plenty of chairs for a busy weekend. My tech, Sam did a great job! She didnt rush and my nails turned out great

Jessie is a true pro. The nails she did for me today are absolute perfection, even after I was 20 minutes late for my appointment and they were super slammed and running behind. This is my second time going to her and I highly recommend her. She is fast but does incredible work. The woman at the front desk was also extremely kind and professional, even dealing with the throngs of people waiting for their appointments or just walking in. This place is busy, but worth the wait!

I got a pedicure here, and it was an excellent service! They were able to take us right away without an appointment. The nail techs were very professional and attentive. The overall salon was clean and well maintained. I totally would recommend this salon to anyone! I will definitely go back.

I finally decided it was time for a pedicure. I’ve walked past this place several times and decided to finally give it a try! Booking was super simple, I was able to make a same day appointment and got right in at the time of my appointment. The person that did my nails was efficient and did a great job. It was pretty packed so I’m glad I made an appointment. I got a basic pedicure and the standard is ~$40. The salon was clean, quiet and has good music. I will definitely be coming back for pedicures!

Last week I visited this salon for the first time to get a mani pedi for a wedding. My experience was okay, but the results are awful. I am glad I made an appointment, when I arrived so did several others who had to wait. I saw one person who had an appointment though get turned away and asked to come back the next day because they were short staffed.They started with my gel pedi, which came out okay. It’s been a few days and the polish looks kind of lumpy on a couple nails. My gel mani was bad (they were out of the color I wanted so they substituted with another shade that was kind of close), the guy accidentally cut me when he was trimming my cuticles. He didn’t even apologize and just kept wiping away the blood. It has not even been a week since my visit and that nail has bled a couple more times, and two nails are chipped. I do not recommend this salon.EDIT: In response to the owner I visited on 6/3 at 5:00pm.

Would not recommend. Theyre expensive and my nails look terrible. The nails are uneven and there are dips in nearly every one.

If you want your appointment time honored, don’t go here. I called around 5:45 pm to book a 7 pm appointment for a gel manicure. When I arrived they told me they were running behind. After waiting 20 minutes, they took other customers ahead of me, and informed me it would be another “5 minutes.” On top of this, they made me wear a mask, despite other restaurants throughout the entire city, bars, full on concert packed venues, and even other nail salons NOT doing so. If you want an appointment where they actually honor your call ahead and follow CDC guidelines, don’t go here.

I have been to this salon 3 times and every single time the staff is friendly and promt. I love the way my nails come out every single time. Booking appointments online is fast and efficient.Only giving this a 3 star because I did notice they do not use new files or nail buffers with every client. Consideing how porous nail buffers and nail files are it is concerning they are reusing these tools on different people without disinfecting.

I really wanted to like this place, but I can honestly say it’s the WORST experience at a nail salon that I’ve ever had. They either overbook or don’t balance the appointments/walk ins effectively so the wait times are beyond ridiculous. Even if you book an appointment you’re still at least waiting 30 minutes minimum to be serviced. Then, even though you’ve requested a certain nail tech, they pair you with whoever is available. That person may or may not be working on other customers at the same time, so they leave to go complete another service and eventually come back to you. The customer service is horrible, certain customers are disregarded and the staff all have a nonchalant attitude. Only when one of the privileged customers make a complaint do I see any management actually step in. Today I waited over 2 hours to be serviced and the only reason I didn’t walk out was because I had foil on my hands and feet, that had been sitting for over an hour while I waited to receive service. Save yourself the headache and find some place that values and your time and business. Extremely disappointed and I will never ever return to this establishment.

This salon is clean and the staff are friendly, however, I have had 3 manis here now and every time the nails are no good in in under a week. Ive never had this issue at any other salon I have been to... at most other places they have to soak the nails to get the gel off... but at Cosmopolitan Nail Lounge the polish just comes off like stickers!! Do not go here for gel or SNS.

Don’t do it. Like many of the others mentioned, the service and quality is subpar. My SNS manicure lasted 6 days and the discount offered to re-do (not replace) was a joke. It’s unfortunate given the convenient location. But not worth the money nor the time.

So I always go to this place for my spa pedicures! They all do such a good job! I’ve gotten my nails done here in the past but it was just okay(I get dip powder) HOWEVER, my girl Chau is there now!!! I’ve been seeing her for a couple of years now and I will follow her WHEREVER she goes because she is just that good! She does beautiful nail art and her shaping is ON POINT! I can literally show her a picture of what I want and she can recreate it! Not to mention Chau is so down to earth and easy to talk to. She is honestly like a friend to me now😁 who would’ve thought! So she’s the reason I’m giving this place 5 Stars haha without her.. a solid 3.5 !

Great experience here! I am very particular about my nails and tech. I like to go somewhere where I know coming back for regular appointments is worth it. If you want SNS definitely see Sunny. She did a great job, paid attention to detail and makes sure you are getting something you like!

Got a full set of acrylics here, and its perfect. Nina did a great job, was very thorough, and Ill be back for sure!Edit: Ive been back to Cosmopolitan Nail Lounge twice since my first visit (with the beautiful acrylics), and I have been underwhelmed. The pedicure I got was unnecessarily painful (and didnt even begin to take care of the callouses I wanted removed), and the manicure began to chip and crack after just 2 days due to the top coat not covering the entire nail. I think it 100% depends on who does your service how it will turn out.

This was my second visit to this nail salon in a year. After returning to work recently, during the pandemic I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi. I booked with Jessie (after reading a few reviews about how great the service is with this tech from other reviewers). Let me tell you, Jessie has a dynamite personality but was way too rough with my feet. I literally have cuts all over the bottom of my left foot because Jessie used way too much force with the pumice bar. Literal cuts. The point was pretty toes that I can use to walk on. I would not recommend this salon to anyone who needs their feet. Such a painful next day. Very disappointed.

I was surprised with a visit here for a mani and pedi. I do not like trying new nail salons as I am extremely picky about who does my nails, the cleanliness and the overall technique but I was pleasantly pleased with my overall experience. My nails looked great and my color was a hit. I would definitely visit them again.

Staff is polite and attentive. Enjoy a mimosa or wine while getting your nails done. Depending on the person who does your nails it’s either great or not so much. Pick wisely depending on the service you want (SNS, gel, etc).

Got my french gel nails done on a thursday and they started to chip the very next day, so I decided to use the refund and take my small daughter to get them done too. Her regular cosmo nails got damaged after 4 hr of having them done.For what is worth, I much rather do it myself at home and safe me the trouble and spending that money on nails that it would only last us 1-2 days.Btw, the ladies are nice and the place spotless but the end result is sadly questionable.

Had a wonderful experience today with Jessie! I enjoyed a Deluxe Pedi and SNS Nails with acrylic tips. So many fun colors to choose from, a friendly staff, AND complimentary champagne. Clean, modern atmosphere means I will definitely be making another trip. Highly recommend!

This is my 3rd or 4th time visiting. I visit occasionally due to the cost and it is a little out of my area. My first time, they did exceptional and I was offered drinks. I recommended my friend sand they enjoyed themselves. Now this time around, I asked for a full set with no added tips and no color. I usually spend about $45 with tips and color. No this time I was charged $60. I am utterly disappointed and I couldve used my money elsewhere for better service and less money. They rushed it and told me that he had another client. Unprofessional. save your time and money please!!

I live just down the street but had put off trying this place because of the reviews. The space is beautiful, modern, and spotless. It is busy so there can be a bit of a wait, even with an appointment, but Sam did a fantastic job. He really took his time and I got a great pedicure and SNS manicure. I will definitely be back.

I’ve been going to Cosmopolitan nail lounge for about a year. While I’ve had the occasional off experience, like you would anywhere you go to long enough, they’ve always fixed any issues within those first few days.Overall the service has been excellent and my nails usually last FOREVER, versus other places. The drinks are a nice bonus, but sometimes you do have to ask for one and aren’t offered upfront.

My new favorite nail place. Jessie is great! Its also COVID safe. They check temperatures of all guests and have the plastic guards up.

After almost two weeks my gel manicure is STILL totally intact! I dont love the color but Im the one who chose it so not their fault. I think he was a little stingy with the coats of polish but he did do a third coat when I asked so really Ive got no complaints! Everything was very clean and everyone I interacted with was super friendly. Easy online appointment booking too!

Got an SNS manicure and pedicure. My SNS lasted less than 5 days. I took my receipt back and they refused to fix it. They told me it was against their policy so they don’t guarantee their services. It was ridiculous that I spent so much time and money on this service that was poorly done. I also had an appointment and after checking in at the desk, I sat in the lobby. The front desk then called me on my cell phone asking where I was...after I already checked in.

Jessie was everything!Let me say I go from every 3 weeks to once a month and I am rough on my feet and nails.Jessie treated me like royalty. Feet smooth as ever. Nails are sculpted, shaped and done with care. Nice but simple set up (no private pedicure area). They serve Champagne and other drinks.I will definitely be back!

I had a really awesome experience working with David today. I have some special considerations with my nails due to my line of work and he took the time to discuss options with me and even tested the process on one nail to make sure it met my expectations before doing the rest of my nails. It might seem like a minor thing, but I had tried a few other places and never left feeling like I got what I needed for my nails. Cannot recommend David enough!

I was weary to try because of some of the reviews but I had a great experience with Jessie! I got a fill, pedicure and eyebrows and am really happy with each service. She fixed a botched job by another salon and was super friendly and helpful. They were really busy so my appointment was a must but overall I really enjoyed my experience and I love my nails!

These guys were amazingly thorough and made for a wonderfully relaxing pedicure experience.I would give them 5 stars but for having to wait over 20 minutes to get started when Id booked an appointment online ahead of time, but Im sure theyll work out the kinks there as they establish themselves.Ill definitely be back!

I went in for a gel manicure. I thought it seemed really rushed, but I did understand it was close to their closing time. One day after my manicure, and 3 of my nails are completely chipped! It was a $40 gel manicure! At other salons, this has always lasted perfectly for 3 weeks. What a waste of time and money. I will never, ever go back there.

I live close by and have been coming consistently for a while now, but Im looking for other options since Ive had repeatedly bad experiences lately. At first they were great but the busier they get, the worse the service is. They constantly book walk-ins over the clients who actually call ahead to book time. The staff can be unfriendly and make you feel like youre a burden - not a paying customer. And several times theyve actually been rude to me - once because I booked an appointment at 7pm and when it ran up against their closing time they scolded me for booking too late, not the receptionist who did the booking. I also had a male nail technician who told me long nails were sexy and with the acrylics he was putting on me I would definitely get a lot of action that weekend. Totally inappropriate. They also often cut me when filing my gel nails and my friend recently had an infection from the same thing happening to her here. Overall my nails generally look really nice which is why I keep coming, but the customer service is severely lacking.

The nail service was good but I asked for a sns polish change. I even wrote it on the sign in sheet when arriving. They overcharged me more for getting a “manicure”and said I was suppose to tell the nail artist if I only wanted polish change. They also charge for take off which is required in a polish change. The front desk girl is unhelpful and doesn’t communicate properly, double check before you start your service or she will over charge

Unfortunately, six months later, I can still remember how underwhelming this mani-pedi was. Im not particularly hard to please — I think this may be the only bad review Ive ever left, either here or on Yelp — but this was the Lindsey Graham of spa/salon experiences: weak, puffed-up, and disappointing.

Do not go here for any type of wax but especially ones of a personal nature. The room for it is a glorified coat closet (literally with coats hanging on the door). There is a table pressed against the wall that doesn’t offer room to properly position for the services creating excess pain and difficulty. I should have run for the hills when the tech asked me if I wanted her to wear gloves. Yes. Yes I do. I even had to school her on positioning to make areas more accessible and painless. My experience is that this should be basic knowledge. I love this place for pedicures but this was officially the worst waxing experience I have ever had. At the least painful and unprofessional at the most a health hazard.

Great customer service. Regular pedicure lasted. After a week the OPI gel manicure began to lift. The two nails painted with ESSIE gel are perfect. I read some of the other comments about gel and I’m wondering which brand was used. Will return, but will only get ESSIE gel manicure.

On 9.26.18 I had such a fantastic experience at this salon. Jessie made me feel comfortable and relaxed while getting my mani/pedi. I was excited to try Cosmopolitan as I just moved to the Navy Yard, but the entire experience was one of the worst I have had.I made an appointment online, and when arriving at the salon I had to wait 15-20 min since they had all overbooked the techs. When I was helped, the tech assigned to me said the color I chose wasn’t good since it “regularly chips/peels off for clients”. I was confused as to why they would carry this brand if it’s mediocre, but chose a different color/brand anyway.After choosing my color, we headed over to the chairs and I was instructed to sit in the pedicure chair when I said, I was actually just doing a gel pedicure today. The tech let me know they were all out of chairs at the nail tables so this would have to do.At the end of the service, and the worst part of all, the tech cut my cuticle so bad on my pinky finger that it began bleeding and was very sore. He apologized and used cotton to soak up the blood. He also insisted on placing a strange yellowish powder in my cut and I refused.When paying for the service, the front desk associate asked how my service was and I informed her it was one of the worst nail experiences I have ever had. I let her know the tech cut my cuticle and it was still bleeding and he was very unorganized. She apologized profusely, which I appreciated, but let her know I would not be returning. The tech approached me and again tried putting that strange powder in my cut when I was asking her for a bandage.When I returned home, I had to clean my cut with hydrogen peroxide and used another bandage to stop the bleeding.I will certainly not be returning to this location nor providing any referrals.

I really had a hard time with this because I wanted to be excited for this new place.I kept telling my techinician I didn’t want the acrylic to be thick, because it can begin to lift near the cuticle.. she brushed me off and said “don’t worry I know what I’m doing” So I watched in agony as she slapped acrylic on and moved quickly to f** it up some more. When she started painting my nails this chalky pink I said, ok see this is what I don’t like ids too thick. She says, you can’t see it.If a customer is telling you how you can improve your work, shut up and listen don’t go back and forth.

I went a few weeks ago and they kept trying to talk me into doing SNS and I got irritated and let them do it. Well 2 weeks later my nails are so thin and brittle and I’m extremely upset because I had really wanted French acrylics with sparkles on my ring finger and they kept insisting that the SNS was way healthier for my nails. That’s bologna because the acrylics have never made my nails brittle and have helped tremendously in growing out my nails. The staff was nice though and they had free champagne, wine, etc., which was a really nice touch. The lady that did my nails forgot to put the sparkles on my ring finger, which wasn’t a huge deal but I ended up paying over $100 for a gel pedicure and they charged me to take off my acrylics. They also took forever to get my acrylics off and the lady was joking that I was going to burn out her grinder’s battery.

Rushed service - one of my nails has half see-through gel on it! Great location but terrible service for the price. Do not recommend.

Good customer service but one day after I got my nails done I had to go back because my pedicure was chipping. It’s now 2 days later and my gel manicure is chipping. I always get gel and never has it lasted less than a week! Very upsetting.

Walked-in and didnt have to wait long. Up front was hectic and two techs were sitting in waiting area. One looked like she was asleep on the couch. I came with a friend and while getting pedicures the tech kept interrupting our conversation. Not the worst mani/pedi but not a place I will be returning to unless left with no other option. The whole process felt rushed and polish left on my skin. I wish I left my two week old pedi polish on. It looked much neater. Highly disappointed. Customer service isnt priority here

I had gels put on here and they came off within 3 days. The nail technician didnt use a bond (clear coat before putting on the color), told me not to use soapy water to wash my hands (even though every other place does), and was generally dismissive about how long to keep my hands under the light before bringing them up for another coat. In addition, she was more interested in checking her phone and talking to the receptionist than she was when working on my nails. Because she was so inattentive, she cut my cuticles way too short (they are naturally short) and one bled pretty badly. Instead of apologizing, she blamed me because my nails and cuticles are too short. In addition, we had an appointment which we made online 24 hours in advance and still had to wait. When we finally did get our nails done, we felt more like an inconvenience than customers.

I went to this salon a few times when it first opened and had good experiences but my last few trips have been terrible. On my second to last visit I booked an appointment for a gel mani/regular pedi at 7:30 and was left waiting for over 30 minutes while they took walk-ins ahead of me. When I was finally seated in the pedicure chair the technician walked away, allowing the tub to overflow. She then spent the next few minutes mopping up the mess and further delaying the service. She then sped through my pedicure and manicure in less than 40 minutes. The paint was streaky, she left a lot of cuticle still on the nail, and she filed unevenly. While my nails were drying I had asked to speak to a manager about the bad service but they had already left for the day so the receptionist called the manager. The receptionist came back to me to apologize and rescheduled me for free re-do services the following week which I was happy about since my gel manicure peeled completely off within 2 days and the paint on my toes had already started chipping.I returned the following week for a re-do gel mani/regular pedicure with the same tech. I arrived about 20 minutes early for my 5:30 appointment. There were a number of techs outside on the bench and sitting in pedicure chairs on their phones but I was told that I had to see the same tech for re-do services and she was currently with another client. Finally, at 6pm (30 minutes after my scheduled appt) the tech was available and I was taken back to the pedicure chair. At that time, the tech pulled the manager aside to have a conversation. The manager came to me and tried to tell me I wouldnt get the pedicure for free since they dont guarantee regular paint wont chip, they only guarantee for gel paint. I argued that I was promised a free re-do on the night of the service due to the long wait, rushed service, and poor quality. The manager argued with me that I didnt go straight to her with my complaint but I reminded her that she had already left for the day and the receptionist contacted her via phone. The manager then stated she remembered the phone call but said then that I would need to see a different tech. So after all of that waiting, I could have been seen almost an hour earlier by a different tech!This new tech did a better job. However, during the pedicure she gave me a salt scrub which I didnt think anything of. Later, as I was leaving, they told me I had to pay an extra $10 for the salt scrub!I will never go back and I suggest others dont waste their time. Its unfortunate because there are very few nail salons in SW but I will have to go elsewhere since they clearly dont care about their customers.

Poorly managed. I walked in at 6:30 PM. I was told there would be a 25 minute wait. After 30 minutes they said a chair was opening soon. When I went up to check in ten minutes after that, they said it would be at least 25 more minutes.
