Brandy was so awesome helping me find an apartment. I recently relocated to DC for work and she made the whole process painless. She even recommended a great moving company. It’s hard enough finding a home during a pandemic but I’m so happy I landed here. If you’re looking in the area, definitely make a stop at Ora! The building and amenities are beautiful and the location is super convenient.

Extremely disappointing apartment showing. It’s raining cats and dogs out, and only when I get to the showing am I informed that the website is incorrect and NEITHER of the listed Junior One Bedroom units are available. No attempt to contact me ahead of time and let me know that the unit type I listed on my request won’t be available until mid-June. Do NOT tour this building without calling and confirming availability... they’re certainly not going to do you any favors. Ridiculous.

I have to commend the staff at ORA for their prompt resolution of issues and for maintaining a spotless and well-kept environment. The cleaning staff in particular has been top notch as well as friendly.

I’m so glad I found this place! I don’t think it’s possible to check out the rooftop and not want to move in the next day. I moved to Ora during the pandemic and have been completely taken care of throughout the moving process thanks to the staff’s diligence and hospitality. My move was totally smooth thanks to the attention to detail that Brandy, Kevin, and the entire staff bring to their work. Moving during a pandemic could be stressful, but I was at ease throughout because I was so reassured by their commitment to seeing that my apartment was thoroughly cleaned and ready, even though I moved in soon after the previous tenant left. I’m very grateful to be here and to call Ora home :)

My partner and I recently toured some units with Brandy who was incredibly attentive, friendly, considerate, and informative. She walked us through the entire application process as well. The finishes in the rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are fantastic. Rooftop has an amazing view and the gym has everything you could need.

So far living at Ora has been great. Even while moving in during the pandemic they made things easy and seamless. All during this they’ve kept us well informed, and I appreciate the cleaning in the public spaces.

Rarely write these but I had an exceptionally rude leasing agent today while touring the building. Not only was she curt and unfriendly, she insisted on lying multiple times by saying that all the floor plans are identical and, therefore, there is no need to see anything other than the model unit. When I politely pointed out that (a) this could not possibly be true both because the website clearly shows that there are multiple floor plans and also because they dont all face the same direction so the windows/lighting would be different (which is important to me); and (b) I noticed they had quite a few empty units on the website and it would be nice to see at least one other; she got angry and defensive and gruffly told me that they prefer not to show other units for COVID-19 reasons (why not just say that in the first place then?!), but then proceeded to show me another unit anyway. Beautiful building, but if thats the service prospective tenants get, no thank you.

Going on month two without a working air conditioning and Ora management says it won’t be fixed until the Fall… but hey someone from management (Crystal) offered a gift card to make it right, because a Starbucks gift card or whatever fixes all… especially when it’s 95 degrees outside. One of the most unprofessional and embarrassing employees that Gables could have hired to represent this property.Long story short, move ANYWHERE ELSE but Ora, unless an overpriced sauna for an apartment is what you are looking for.Btw the appliances are just as bad, as my dryer is broken and ruins clothes. Going on month two of it not working right and management offered for me to wash my clothes in my apartment and then dry them in a vacant unit on a different floor… another “solution” of Ora’s.

The staff at ORA is incredible and very good at what they do. Kevin, Brandy and Justin are all extremely personable, attentive and welcoming. They promptly reply to any question, problem or concern. I cannot say enough good things about them!!

One of the most attentive and caring and hospitable staffs out there. They ensure every question is answered and make you feel like you are more than just another resident. Brandy was half the reason we went with ORA and upon move in, the rest of the staff was exceptional as well.

It’s been a wonderful and welcoming experience at the Ora! Looking forward to when the world is back to normal! All the staff are super friendly, helpful and the building is clean with amazing amenities!

I just relocated to Washington DC from the UK and after painfully searching for the right apartment I came across ORA. Brandy greeted me at reception and I loved her right away, she was bubbly and knew what I was looking for. She understood my budget and didn’t show me anything I would like, but couldn’t afford. She found me to perfect apartment with a balcony - the dream! Since I moved into ORA it’s surpassed my expectations, the building itself is great, very modern but with a classic feel. It’s the community that really makes it though, the management team Brandy, Justin and Kevin put on awesome events all the time for residents and they can’t do enough for you, always responsive and ready to help. You would be hard pushed to find any better apartment home in DC!

Ora is a beautiful apartment community. The leasing staff was super responsive and their attentiveness made all the difference in our leasing process. Ora is brand new and the apartments are well done with amazing closets! Brandy was incredibly helpful and because of her and the great property, wed recommend Ora to anyone!

I love living at ORA. Its so close to my office, safe and most of all staff here are friendly and helpful. Brandy, one of staff here, can remember my not-easy-to- be-pronounced name but pronounce it correctly. Im so impressed.

Justin, Brandi, Kevin and Maria are amazing. Not a day goes by that I don’t regret my decision to live at Ora. All the residents are lovely people. I love going to the social events and seeing my neighbors around town. Great experience!

Surrounded by mansions and embassies, this building is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a smaller boutique building, but the amenities are great and the layout makes sense. You must meet Brandy and Justin! Sure, they have a job to do- they need to sell you an apartment LOL but they seem to genuinely care about you as a person, not just a resident which is a 5 star amenity in and of itself. :)

The units at Ora are modern and spacious, and building amenities are a definite plus. Brandy and the staff are warm and helpful and made our decision to join the community easy.Would recommend Ora to anyone looking for a great apartment close enough to but not in the middle of DC nightlife.

This is a renovated completely new and modern building in a great DC location and neighborhood, it is nearby my office (5 Minutes walk !) and I particularly love the wonderful panoramic view I am lucky to get on washington DC monuments, the gym and especially the cozy luxurious and comfortable lounge on the ground floor available to residents. Despite being expensive and the apartment units relatively small, I recommend this building for future residents. I was one of the first residents moving to this new building and i would like to thank all the staff and particularly Brandy for the excellent service, availability and warm welcome.

Ora is a beautiful building but is over priced. The floorplans are small, what there is of kitchen storage is not practical, and the management company will squeeze every penny possible out of each lease. We transferred our lease into a new unit and had to pay $5,900 in fees to move from a Jr 1 bed to a full 1 bed.

Going through the process of finding an apartment virtually could have been incredibly stressful, but Brandy made it easy. We were able to do a FaceTime tour to get a feel for the building, amenities and a few different floorplans, and Brandy helped us to ensure we knew everything we needed to know prior to submitting our application. She also helped us to set up a no contact visit to ensure we were comfortable with our floorplan decision but maintained social distancing guidelines. As an added bonus, Brandy was an absolute joy to work with and was quick to answer all of the (many) questions that I had re: floorplans, dimensions, etc. Were looking forward to moving into ORA in just a few weeks!

Ive been living at the Ora since it opened in September and have had a great experience so far! Its a very quiet street and quiet, newly-renovated building with top of the line amenities. As another reviewer wrote, a big difference between the Ora and other buildings is that since its a gut-reno but not new construction, it has the buildings original brick walls so you really dont hear anything from your neighbors.The fitness center is great (love the Peloton) as is the beautiful roof deck. Cant wait to use it even more this spring.And last but not least, I have to praise Gables for the quality of their management and communication. Lots of other buildings have constant turnover of building management - not so here. Brandy has been with us from day one and is a ray of sunshine. Shes super responsive via email and in-person and plays a big role in making everything run smoothly.Also shout-out to Justin who has been a great Community Manager from the beginning, plans lots of events, and even brings us homemade macarons! You can tell that the Gables staff really care about the quality of the resident experience.

Best place to live in DC! Brandy was extremely helpful and responsive

I was among the first residents to move in to the Ora when it opened during the fall of last year, and every day Im reminded how great of a decision that was.First, the apartments themselves. Everything is brand new and top-of-the-line, from the kitchen appliances (including the all-important dishwasher and garbage-disposal), to the in-unit washer & dryer, to the pristine floors and countertops. Even though my apartment technically has fewer square feet than my previous place, it feels larger and more spacious, thanks to the huge windows and open floor-plan.Next, the amenities. Everything in the Ora is straight out of the future: automated package lockers in the mailroom, digital front door so you can buzz people in with your phone, etc. Theres also a small but modern and fully-featured fitness center just an elevator ride away from the door to my apartment. But the real stand-out is the rooftop -- with grills, fridges, a fire pit, and a near-360 degree view of the city. You can see the Capitol, the Monument, and the Cathedral completely unobstructed.The location is also really prime. California Street is quiet and charming, and the building is nicely set-back from the busier Connecticut Ave. Its then just a ten minute walk from the Ora to the Dupont north metro, which makes commuting and getting downtown a breeze.Lastly, the community. The community managers (Brandy, et al) do a fantastic job making the Ora a comfortable and fun place to live. They organize events practically every week (e.g. game night and wine Wednesday) that almost invariably include catered food, a bar, and a bunch of games for the residents. The staff has done a great job making the Ora feel like a true community rather than just a typical apartment building.If youre looking for a high-end apartment upgrade in a fantastic location, definitely check out the Ora!

A magnificent place. I came here by chance because it was closer to work, but I wanted to get an apartment here because everything is extraordinary. Located in the most exclusive area of ​​Washington DC it is on a quiet, clean and safe street. The building is practically new, the perfect gym, the intimate rooftop, with all the comforts and above all a magnificent view. The staff are very kind, absolutely nothing to say.I am happy to live here.
