We have a Geothermal dual unit, which was having issues with water flow. Mr. Gildersleeve came out with another tech and cleared the line, fixed a collapsed pipe, water vacced, and labeled our unit which had no labels. They went above and beyond for us and were fairly price. They are awesome! Also, a big thank you to Emily! We were struggling to find anyone to help but she assured us Mr. Gildersleeve would have a look and get us back in working order! Thank you! We WILL be repeat customers!

GIldersleeve replaced my old second story HVAC system with an efficient Bosch heat pump system. The price was competitive - but the quality was superb. We are extremely satisfied with the new system, and particularly the installation team - led by Micah, Shawn and Zach - they were very professional, clean and thorough with every aspect of the job. They provided two temporary window air conditioners for the three day job. Every step of removal and installing new was explained and done with the highest level of quality.

I have used Gildersleeve for over 15 years and with 2 different homes (formerly with geothermal heat pump and now with Bosch inverter systems on my new home). I have always found Gildersleeve easy to work with. The owner personally comes out to spec any big replacement projects, and Chris is really one of the best techs around. I always use their Annual maintenance program (I think they call it an ESA) and truly feel this is one of the better proactive services one should pay for. Having worked with Chris many years, not only do I know he fix anything, I also feel safe with him working in my home even when I am not there. I am now a big fan of the Bosch air-to-air system after 2 years and 2 units. I plan on converting a third old unit soon. Gildersleeve has my full endorsement.

This company was my hero today! I woke up to no water and called Gildersleeve. Within 10 minutes, we had an appointment for today! As it turns out, my well pump broke and Stephen, the gentleman that came out, was able to install a brand new pump! We have water again. A very professional company with very professional employees. Gildersleeve Geothermal, Heating, and Cooling installed our Geothermal system several years ago. This company has provided annual service checks on our system. The service technician is efficient and professional every single time. I highly recommend this company.

We have a two-zone HVAC system and the lower furnace failed. I choseGildersleeve Geothermal to do the replacement as the owner gave me more confidence than the other bidders. Because of the original construction of our house, the new system had to be custom built and he warned me it would take three or four weeks. Right on schedule the new system arrived. Gildersleeves installers worked all day for four consecutive days to install the new system. The new system works perfectly and, not only is the product great, but having the additional 3-4 guys in the house all week was a pleasure. They were very pleasant and my wife and I felt really comfortable with their work ethic and habits. In addition, as the lower part of our house was cold for almost a month, Gildersleeves loaned us three electric heaters at no charge. I highly recommend this company.

We had Gildersleeve install 3 units, a mini split in my shop, geothermal for the main house and a traditional hvac upstairs. Very happy with the people and products. I’d definitely recommend. I was not up sold on anything and got the three units for what I believe is a very fair price. I try to support local businesses when I can and Gildersleeve is great!

We put a new GeoThermal unit in back in November. We have had a couple of issues come up with our system over the last 7 months. Today, I called first thing this morning and Emily was able to get us a technician out asap. I have also spoken with Rhonda in the past as well and she was just as helpful. The technicians that have been out to service our system have been on point and solved each issue. Today, missed his name but a Redskins fan for sure, fixed the issue in no time. Customer service has been nothing but thumbs up for this company. Keep up the great service!

Have been a customer since 2009. From the first phone call that scheduled a meeting to discuss geothermal to the most recent semi annual service visit, Gildersleeve employees have exhibited professionalism in all their actions. Preston, the Technician that preformed the latest service visit was: on time, courteous and knowledgeable. His post service summary explained well and his answers were given in clear, understandable terms. Gildersleeve continues maintain the Gold Standard.

Called today and when person picked up she seemed to not know what I was calling about. She asked if I was a client before and I told her I was not and that I just needed my well pump repaired. She stated someone would have to call me back to arrange and appointment. This has never happened before, she seemed like it was her first day. So i give her all my information and then get put on hold and another lady pocks up asking the same questions the previous lady asked. Lack of communication appeared to have occurred. So i stopped her and asked if they do residential well pumps because the last lady appeared dumbfounded when i asked her told her i wanted mine fix. I explained that the answering service was subpar and she told me that the lady who picked up her phone was the book keeper Nd that she was on the line with another customer.Line ended. Lesson - If you staff someone ti answer the phones, make sure they know what they are talking about and how to do it; otherwise let it go to voicemail.

The geothermal system installed in our home by Gildersleeve is wonderful! Last night when the temperature dropped, our house was so warm and comfortable. The system was so quiet. We are really looking forward to the much lower electric bills because of the efficiency of this system! As for the installation, the Gildersleeve crew was polite and worked efficiently. They arrived on schedule and when they finished the job, there was no mess left behind. If you are considering going green, I would highly recommend this outfit for your geothermal system installation!

Gildersleeve completed a repair of my water to air heat pump. My tech was Kevin who did a very professional job. I could not have ask for better service.

I cant rate the quality of their craftsmanship. I never had the opportunity. I scheduled an appointment in January and thank heavens I called the day of the appointment, because they cancelled and didnt notify me. The nice lady that answered the phone the morning of the scheduled appointment said they would work me in that day some time after 2. Well 2 pm came and went, so did 5pm. I called the very next morning to see if someone was going to come by. She said the technician had gotten caught up at another job (a simple phonecall wouldve been nice). She ensured a technician would be by... Well its been over a month and I still have yet to hear from anyone at Gildersleeve. Thank goodness Im a salary worker, I wasted 1.5 days waiting on a technician. I was able to get a competent, trustworthy company to come out on the day they said they would and finish the job. I dont know how this company has been around this long, if they treat customers this way. If youre unable to make it; say so, a little communication goes a long way! Not impressed

Ten years ago when Jake Gildersleeve installed a new well for me, we discussed geothermal and how his company was installing units in this area. Four months ago when I needed a new downstairs HVAC unit and decided I wanted geothermal, calling Gildersleeve was an easy decision. After talking with one of their competitors who sell the same type of system, deciding on Gildersleeve for the install was an even easier decision. Jake came to my home and thoroughly explained the system and how it works plus its benefits. He sold me a quality unit and guided me away from something with more bells and whistles than I needed. The Gildersleeve techs did an excellent job with the install and setup and met my additional demands. We were able to put the unit in the crawlspace to free up garage space which was Jakes suggestion after I asked about putting it in a closet or elsewhere. With the anticipated tax credit, I was able to get an extremely efficient geothermal unit at a lower cost than a high efficiency heat pump. I couldnt be happier with the install and the performance of the unit. I believe this will be a long lasting, efficient unit and that it was a good investment for my home.

We just had an initial visit with Gildersleeve to discuss the installation of a new geothermal system. Our existing system is quite old, 20 plus years and we are getting to the point it needs to be replaced.Jake arrived a few minutes early and aside from being professional, knowledgeable and experienced, he was just an all around nice guy.

Have been a customer of Gildersleve for many years for my Virginia Beach Home. Geothermal is an excellent system that is efficent, quiet and low operational cost. My home remains comfortable year round regardless of outside temps due to the systems design & efficency.Six years ago, Gildersleve retrofitted my 50+ year old beach home with not only a geothermal system, but also redesigned and installed all new ductworking throughout the home.Recently one of my geothermal circulation pumps failed -- Emily & Rhonda were on top of it and within 5 minutes had scheduled their technician to assess the issue the SAME DAY as I called. The technician (Chris) was the same person who originally installed the system in my home so he had an excellent working knowledge of where all the system components were located (and what parts they consisted of).After a detailed diagnosis by Chris, Emily & Rhonda were back on the case ensuring the right parts and technician (Brooks) was there 24 hours later to properly fix what had failed.Brooks, a no-nosense and focused tehnician was able to expeditiously get the system back into full capacity in a very short period of time.Due to the potential of not being able to repair it that day, the front office staff was standing by and presented me with a backup plan to provide standby AC while the system was down. Although it turned out to be not necessary, it is nice to know the Gildersleve team thinks about customer comfort during infrequent downtime. (This was the first time my system had ever had an oeprtional issue since install)I might add one other datapoint: Gildersleve had offerred an Energy Savings Plan which includes several benefits including reduced technician rates, semi annual tuneups etc. I had taken advantage of this program and am very happy that I did.Whereas geothermal may not be for everyone, I love not having outside devices that are exposed to the elements, are loud or unsightly. The long term economics coupled with energy savings and environmental considerations make a geothermal system perfect for my home well into the future.I highly recommend the Gildersleve team.

The owner, Jake Gildersleeve, came to our house and discussed our options to replace our aging Heat Pump with the far more efficient geothermal unit. How often does a vendor ROUND DOWN to the nearest hundred when quoting a system - but Jake did. He simply explained how our investment would be offset initially by the federal tax credit, and then annually by less electricity usage. I can only say, the house has never felt better.The day we were supposed to have the unit turned on and completed, a computer board was discovered to be faulty, and I thought the crew were joking be back in 45 minutes. They drove to get the new part and were back in 45 minutes, and we shook hands after an hour - we were fully operational. We feel that we have been treated 100% professionally and the staff all seem to be able to handle our situations. How a firm handles a problem is a good sign to me, as to how they handle their customers. Gildersleeve simply provided me excellent service and value.

Fantastic company. As a property manager, we have multiple homes that we manage, only ONE with a geothermal system. We had two other companies over the course of 4 days look at it when we had a problem in the heat of July and no one was able to get it fixed! We called Gildersleeve since they can work on wells and are experts with the geothermal systems and within 20 minutes, they had found and resolved the problem! We are contracting with them for a service agreement on this home and HIGHLY recommend them.
