We’ve been going her for our 13 year old chihuahua Daisy since they saved her life over a year ago. She needed an emergency surgery for pyrometra and they took her in on a Friday afternoon and saved her life we would’ve lost out little girl. At the emergency vet nearby it would’ve been an 8 hour wait in our car in July. Daisy and Mary are best friends now. Mary is always so kind and helpful and answers all questions, Dr Kiesel is very knowledgeable. We highly recommend Camino Seco Pet Clinic.

Called Monday morning 7/19 and spoke with a very nice receptionist that made an appointment for me and my dog that following Thursday. I believe my pup got kennel cough from her groomer, and the receptionist was very nice to set up an appointment so soon!BUT… I was informed I would be receiving an email soon with a form that needs to be filled out before the appointment to confirm my information that I never received. The day before my appointment I called the clinic to confirm my email to ensure I could receive the form and fill it out prior to the appointment. A man answered the phone, not giving his name but I was able to deduct it was likely the vet Dr.Ed, and while trying to explain that I haven’t received the email he interrupted me and said I would receive it later this evening. He DID NOT ask to confirm my email, he DID NOT ask for my information to look up dog, he DID NOT ask me when I set up my appointment. He did nothing to help me. He interrupted me and gave me a pointless answer that didn’t help or answer my question. I asked again, “I made this appointment two days ago, and I was told I’d be receiving the email shortly, so I just wanted to confirm.” He replied with attitude, “Well, we don’t send them out until the day of your appointment.” So he changed his story, first he said I was probably going to receive it “tonight”, and now I guess I’ll be seeing it “the day of the exam”.Immediately I knew this was not the type of vet I want to take my puppy to, so I started calling around to other vets in my area to make an appointment elsewhere. I also looked on google to check the reviews to see if this was a one time occurrence, but NOPE! Multiple reviews specifically name Dr.Ed for being unprofessional and rude. A previous review actually states that they had troubles and didn’t receive the email either, but Dr. Ed refused to work with them or check to see that the email was not received.Obviously this is a repeated issue for this vet, and I didn’t appreciate the attitude. I called back within 20 minutes after making a different appointment and canceled. Same man answered the phone, didn’t ask why I was canceling, but I’m glad I didn’t take my puppy here. My family will definitely not bring our other animals either. No one wants their best friend to be treated negatively and that was definitely the vibe I got from this vet.Office staff - very friendly, I probably would have kept the appointment if I worked with them again to resolve my issue. Now that I’ve seen what the vet is like, I don’t want that attitude around my puppy. Dr. Ed - should have just listened, been understanding, and tried to actually help instead.

I never actually made it to the vet. I called and attempted to make appointment and the lady asked why I needed one. I attempted to provided the info but she didnt let me get out much more than a sentence and sighed and put me in hold. Im not sure why shes annoyed but she seemed very annoyed. Ive been on hold over 50 minutes (at this point Im just curious if shell ever return.. Im making lunch 😳) and per her attitude combined with this Im not comfortable taking my baby there. So this review is for the unprofessional person answering the phone. Really bad vibe 👎🚫Do better

He shakes his head shrugs and walks off. I then proceed to call the clinic and asked for a doctor or someone else in charge. He said HE WAS THE DOCTOR. Didnt know the doctor answered phone calls. He refused to put someone else on the phone and proceeded to argue with me. I told him just cancel the appointment and I will never come here again. Exceptionally happy with the care of my pets ( 5 dogs and cats) from Camino Seco Pet Clinic! I can honestly say I had never encountered a clinic that put such care, patience, and dedication to every pet. As a pet lover and rescuer, I have probably gone through half the clinics In Town, and since being fortunate enough to find this clinic, I have not looked back. All my pets go here now for anything from routine checkups/shots, spay, to complicated diagnosis. It is truly comforting to leave your pet in the hands of professionals that care and go above and beyond for their well-being! Absolutely would recommend this clinic, your pet could not be in better hands!

I took my 8 week old puppy here for a well check and shots, within 15 min they brought my puppy out without a receipt. I paid $90 for shots and a check up. The day after I left, I drove my puppy to the emergency clinic because he was lethargic and unable to breathe. Turns out he tested positive for parvo, and could not breathe off the ventilator. THE DAY PRIOR this clinic claimed to do a well check and didn’t see the sign?? Not reliable. Don’t take your animal here. I’m not sure how they have good reviews. My baby died a day after seeing them.

DONT DO IT! Go anywhere but here. I took my sick dog there since I couldnt get into my regular vet during COVID. Thought it might be better and less expensive than the emergency vet. I couldnt have been more wrong. The communication was lousy, everything was done via some over complicated online process. I never got good information, understandable results nor did I ever get a receipt of what my $500 went for. The emails they sent could have been written by a 5 year old. On top of that, they kept her on the meds for only four days. So, when she became lethargic again after she came off the meds, I took her to my regular vet. Turns out she needs to be on the meds for at least 6 months for her valley fever.

Took my cat in feb because I was concerned about my cats rapid weight loss and excessive water drinking. They took almost 2hrs from drop off to pick up. They only check him over from the outside then did a glucose test to test for diabetes. They signed him off as healthy and didn’t offer any other tests. My gut said that was wrong. I took him to a different vet for a second opinion. This new vet was so informative and went over everything they can test for based on the same info I provided camino seco pet clinic. We chose to have a full blood panel done. Turns out my cat is in is the high stage of kidney failure. And we’re devastated to say the least. I’m disappointed that the camino seco didn’t even try to diagnose my cat. I feel robbed of the $68 I was charged for basically nothing.

Recently had a Labrador that required surgery (tumors removed) and attempted visiting a vet closer to our home and was quoted nearly $1000 - didnt have that in the budget so visited here and they were able to help and performed same surgery for around $400. Dr. Kiesel has been my vet since 1999. He has taken care of my dog Trixie since the age of 7 weeks to the present 6 years old. He also treated my prior dog Sheba all of her 16 years. I have always felt that he did procedures that were necessary until I got pet insurance for Trixie and suddenly Trixie needed his teeth cleaned every six months and lots of blood work. I became very disappointed when he recently charged me a mandatory $5 fee before he would call in a refill (Trixie has epilepsy and is on Phenobarbital) and then took days to call in the refill. I have since moved Trixie to the VCA Animal Hospital at Golf Links and Harrison. I had Trixies records transferred and my new vet pointed out many curiosities in the records that they couldnt explain. For example, a blood test that she had to send out for analysis (Phenobarbital level test). They had to wait 3 days for the results to come in; previous tests for the exact same thing at Camino Seco yielded results in a couple of hours but with no blood level reports in Trixies chart. I am so glad I left Camino Seco Pet Clinic for VCA Animal Hospital where I beleive my dog is getting REAL care now! VCA also suggested Trixie might have had valley fever which could be the cause of his seizures/epilepsy. Turns out he did not have valley fever but I really appreciate the in-depth care of my beloved pet and the search for a possible cure. Lots of care and love at VCA!!

I have called several times before they supposedly closed only to get an extremely poorly recorded answering machine offering only an emergency number and saying to leave a message. There was no beep. My only clue the message was over was the vet (Im guessing) saying ummmm for a long time and then getting cut off. I had a horrible experience with them 20 years ago and was only calling in desperation to find out about nail clipping for my service animals. Not only do they not offer information on their message and are closed hours before they supposedly do but they dont have a website. If I wasnt scheduled for double carpal tunnel surgery Id trim my service animals nails myself. I guess this place has gone from bad to worse, especially based on the reviews. Im actually glad they didnt answer. I made all those call attempts before reading the reviews. Im glad they never answered the phone. The receptionist are incompetent and never know whats going on when I or someone I know comes in with our pets. Payment plans have been magically lost, paper work screwed up, misquoted on pet food prices its a mess and the biggest problem for me is the amount of time I or other people that have come in had to wait. Whatever woman receptionist says theyll be right back and i end up waiting 20-40 minutes. This was my decision. I loved my boy, Ozee, and knowing that his heath would only worsen,n from this point forward, I made the choice to prevent undue suffering of my friend. I wish the best for all the people working there, and am greatfull for their care and concern for my friend, and toward myself. Camino Seco was originally our primary care vet for our first 2 dogs after we moved to the east side for a few months in 2017. When we got a new dog, he had gotten into a bottle of medication and we had to take him to emergency animal care elsewhere because it happened on a weekend. They instructed us to do a follow-up a week after he was released from intensive care. When we took him into Camino Seco Pet Clinic for the follow-up to re-run blood work and test his liver enzymes, Dr Kiesel came in, took one look at his blood work when he was released from intensive care, and without even running more recent blood work, told us that our dog who was only two years old at the time, was in liver failure and he would only have a few months to live. He told us to extend his Time by feeding him a diet of chicken and rice, and a special Hills Science Diet. Of course we took his word because we had no reason not to believe him. After three months, our dog lost 20 lb of weight and we were getting concerned because he seemed healthy otherwise and not lethargic like Dr. Kiesel said he would be. We decided to get a second opinion, and took him to Spanish Trail pet clinic where they ran a second panel of tests to find out that he was PERFECTLY FINE. We began to feed him a normal diet again and he put all the weight back on, he is now 4 years old. This misdiagnosis could have shortened our dogs life. Needless to say, we decided not to go back to Camino Seco Pet Clinic.Fast forward to 2019, we now have a new puppy, 10 weeks old. On Groupon I saw Camino Seco Pet Clinic had a coupon for microchipping service, a good deal for 50% off. I thought to myself, its just microchipping and not any medical service so I bought the coupon. When I first called to make the appointment to get my dog microchipped, the person on the phone said they were no longer running that specific Groupon even though I had just bought it a day before and it didnt expire for another 6 months. She made the appointment anyway after she checked if they were still doing it. Then, we got there for our appointment time (8am, April 26, 2019) & Tech said that she had no recollection of the Groupon existing. Had to wait for 1/2 hour while it was verified to use it while we waited for her to get on the phone with Groupon support even after I showed the voucher on my phone. While we were waiting, a dog came in with what the owner said another vet diagnosed as sebaceous cysts that got aspirated. Dr. Kiesel came out to look at the dog and after the owner told him some of the cycsts had been drained he immediately said, and I quote well now its cancer! Vets that aspirate like that cause those things to turn into cancer, but dont worry Ill remove all of them with their sacs!I ask you - HOW can a vet just KNOW without taking samples and running tests that cysts just turn into cancer when drained?! My boyfriend and I just gave each other looks. When the tech finally confirmed the Groupon was valid, she said she would take our puppy to the back to get microchipped. After what we had just heard and saw, plus past experience, we asked to be present for the microchip injection (to see if they would sanitize the skin area, etc), tech tried to say we didnt need to, but we insisted, so she said OK, and said wed need to wait for Dr. Kiesel in a waiting room (another 15-20 min wait, while the tech made small talk and mistook our Doberman puppy for a Daschund). Once it was finally done, we got the hell out there and vowed wed never go back no matter what. And just for reference, weve owned/rescue/fostered many dogs in our lifetime and worked with several vets/ clinics. Im extremely disappointed in this one.

I do not recommend bringing your pet here if Dr. Keisler is still practicing

If you care for your PET then dont go to this VET.After a few years of service with no complicated illnesses, we finally had a sick dog. How i wish we would not have ignored all of the signs pointing to an inadequate doctor.Doctors with ethics speak to thier customers, arent afraid of thier actions, know what prescriptions they prescribed historically. Dont prescribe wild amounts of steriods and put the dogs health first.Oh, one more thing- they should have accurate records....Not here.

Dr. Kiesel is the fifth vet that l had taken my dog, Peanut, to see. Peanut suffers from lnflamatory Bowel Disease. He has been in the emergency hospital twice due to excessive bleeding. Dr. Kiesel changed Peanuts medications. It took a little time, the bleeding episodes have stopped. I cant thank Dr. Kiesel enough for giving my precious little dog a chance to live a long healthy life 😂

These people over anthestised my dog during a routine dental cleaning, he died. Thanks for compensating the 70 dollar cremation. Use at your pets risk.

Horrible! Picked up rescue kittens from being spayed /neutered and vaccinated before being rehomed and they were covered in fecal matter and vomit. It was stuck in their fur, on their surgical incisions had to wash the poor things up before infections or irritations occured. Not something animal lovers would do. Ill never be back.

Ive had family members come to this pet clinic and ask US what should they do. They did a botch spay on a female dog of my families. Ive heard them let dogs run around because they got out of the cage and the doctor yelling and trying to assert dominance on a dog. This is NOT the place you want to go.

My lab is a big baby, the vet realized how uncomfortable she was so he got on the ground and sat with her for the entire exam

You could not ask for better pet care. The entire staff treats you and your furry friends like they are family.
