Total RIPOFF!! I have a senior dog who has been having health issues and have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at Sabino pet clinic this year. Some questions about meds came up and they said doctor would call me. Guess what. No call. My other dog developed a ear problem. I called and got an appointment only to get a call back 5 minutes later informing me there would be an extra $100.00 for seeing him. Yes $100.00! in addition to office visit. These people dont seem to care about the animals. The only thing that seems important to them is your money! Got an appointment at emergency vet same day and visit was $97.00. Dont get ripped off by these greedy people. There are plenty of good vets around.
The very best pet clinic or doctor visit I have ever been to. Dr Susan Stofft was so much better than last pet clinic we had been going to for 10 years. Information and care provide was great.
I called to make an appointment as my elderly dog was not feeling well and was told that there were no appointments available for several weeks unless I wanted to pay extra above the standard fee...so I guess there were appointments available you just had to pay more...fine my dog is sick and I need to have her seen. Went to the appointment today and was told they had no record of it (with a shrug)...there was not the slightest hint of apology or concern for my dog...just nope. No offer to reschedule an appointment or questions about how my dog was doing, a total lack of concern. Very unprofessional.
I recently have had to call the clinic on two separate occasions for urgent care for a couple of my dogs. Each time, the staff and veterinarians were always professional and compassionate. I like having peace of mind that I have the doctors and staff of Sabino Veterinary Care handling my pets’ health (routine and urgent care). I have recommended, and will continue to recommend, this clinic to other pet owners.
We have 3 dogs and a cat. Dr. Jim and the team always make us and our pets feel like family. Thanks!
Past experiences have been better. Dr Jim has been our Veterinarian in the past and has great bedside manor. Today it was get a blood test if you care about your pets quality of life. All we got out of it was a voicemail saying the results came back positive. Upon arrival I was greeted with a credit card device and a few minutes later our pet was handed over. From check-in to discharge no face to face with Veterinarian.
We love the entire staff at Sabino Canyon. They were absolutely amazing when our dear Stella passed away. They want above and beyond to help us. Look no further if you want compassionate, kind and expert care!
While the staff is great, the prices are astronomical. I am used to spending quite a bit on vet care for my fur kids, but the pricing here is just not reasonable whatsoever. Was told surgery would be $700 by the vet who would be performing the surgery herself. I then receive a quote for $950-$1300. The add ons, charging for services before pricing is discussed, etc. it’s just out of hand and I will have to find a new vet unfortunately. It’s disheartening as so many of us are experiencing financial hardships at this time.
Dr. Jim and staff provide exceptional, compassionate care! Dont bother trying to find a better vet in Tucson. Also, Cassandra is truly the nicest office attendant youll ever meet. We owe the health of our fur babies to Sabino Vet Care, including our dogs recovery from valley fever.
We needed veterinary care for our beloved Izzy as she began to suffer a decline near the end of her life. It was obvious to our family that the Doctors at Sabino Veterinary Care are experienced and very compassionate. We appreciated their treatment of both our cherished pet and also the way they treated us during a difficult time. These are wonderful people you can trust. Thank you, Doctor Radtke!
Our Lab was injured in the dog park, and they gave us an appointment quickly. Everyone was professional and friendly. The Doctors exam was rigorous, and he explained everything clearly. The Doc and staff appeared sincerely interested in his well being. The cost was reasonable. We recommend highly.
Dr. Radtke and all the staff are terrific! My pup gets very nervous at the vet, but they do their best to make her comfortable. I highly recommend Sabino Vet clinic.
I love this place. I usually feel vets always nickel and dime you on tests and services that aren’t needed. At Sabino Vet they are honest and extremely sweet. Very grateful to have found them.
The entire staff is friendly, courteous, professional, compassionate and highly competent. I’ve been a pet owner all my life, and lived in several parts of the country so I’ve taken pets to various vet practices over the years. Sabino Veterinary Care is among the best practices I’ve ever worked with.
Such compassionate care of our cats - the doctors and techs are thorough, but very gentle and caring in working with sometimes very frightened animals. The facility is lovely. The staff not only give great care to the animals, but are also very thoughtful about making sure that their humans are taken care of, too. I highly recommend Sabino Veterinary Care.
Ive never experienced this degree of personal care from a vet. They called weeks after my kittys checkup to make sure she was okay and they take my calls whenever I have questions, always handling them with patience and knowledge. Whenever I visit, all the staff are friendly and offer me thoughtful ways to make my kittys life as good as it can be. Very happy to have found this vet and Dr. Susan Stofft.
The doctors at Sabino were so nice. The first thing we loved was the welcoming atmosphere and the open friendly hearted staff. Really a great thing when youre looking for a caring and compassionate practice. The next wonderful thing we noticed (after visiting 3 other vets with no diagnosis) was that they were willing to offer the x-rays and / or ultrasound services for about half the price of the other veterinarians. This seemed like a sign to us that they really cared and werent just in it for the money. While discussing options, we expressly voiced concern over any biopsy being done because of the likelihood that if our cat had cancer, it would logically cause it to spread. The vet we spoke with said she understood our concerns and agreed and would definitely ask us and give us the opportunity to discuss the necessity and value of doing such a thing before ever attempting it.We were told we needed an appointment with a different doctor there at Sabino (we assumed more knowledgeable about his condition) to get the ultrasound. We met with her and she insisted that the only way to really know what was going on was to do fine needle aspirates. We allowed it and the tests were done and sent out. She called us on Saturday, which we thought was very kind since she was probably not working, to inform us that our cat had small cell lymphoma. We were both saddened and relieved to have a diagnosis and admittedly, confused on how to proceed since weve never had a cat or any animal for that matter get so awfully sick. During the phone call on Saturday, she said that she really thought it was too late for chemo or radiation to do him any good and that he was too weak to survive it. She recommended that we call a holistic vet for further treatment and gave us a couple of recommendations. While we waited for the holistic vet to answer our voicemail and call us back about a possible appointment or treatment options, we became concerned that our cat was dropping weight much too rapidly and he could hardly walk. Sabino told us if he began to pant we should bring him in because it meant trouble breathing. When she hung up the phone after referring us away, she just said good luck with him!.We found a liquid product online in a dropper that was supposed to help cats with lymphoma hold weight and had vitamins and minerals supplement to help him fight. I ordered it with 2 day shipping and by the time it came, he was gone.We held his feet and head when he went into seizures in the evening. He cried out and died in our hands. It was the most awful thing Ive ever been through in my life, watching him suffer with no way to help ease his pain.I really wish Sabino would have had the foresight to supply us with at least supportive medicine while we waited. No antibiotic, no nutrutional supplement to help him with his rapid weight loss... no pain medication to ease his suffering at all.So in one way, I loved Sabino and everything they helped us accomplish and in another way, I feel like after the diagnosis was beyond their expertise, they just dropped us like a hot potato.Very mixed review.
One of the best decisions my husband and I made in Tucson so far was switching to Sabino Veterinary Care. What an incredible and caring crew. I thank each and every one of you for the love and care you gave to our cat Princess, and to my husband and I as well. xoxo
Absolutely love all the staff! They have so much compassion and really take the time to care for your fur babies! One of the best vets in Tucson if I may say so myself! ☺️
I have used these Doctors before they started this practice. They are the most caring, helpful and knowledgeable Vets I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They have taken care of our current two rescue dogs and two cats as well as a previous cat. Dr Susan also successfully treated my mothers dog as well. You cant go wrong with these two!
What a wonderful visit! The vet (Dr. Susan Stofft) and the tech (Courtney) answered all of our questions, took time to explain our cats behaviors, and offered great recommendations for enriching her life. Our cat also had the benefit of a quiet, low-stress environment, and a clean and comfortable exam room. This is definitively our vet for life!
Weve had the pleasure of working with Sabino Veterinary Care for only a short time, but we have been so very pleased with the quality of care, compassion and true concern for our four legged friends. We had the very difficult choice of having to put down our 15 year year Dakota just recently. From the minute we pulled into the parking lot we knew we had made the right choice in that days visit as well as Sabino Vet. The true concern for Dakota as well as myself and family was paramount. Dr. Chelsea Radtke was wonderful. She never made us feel rushed and as Dakotas life came to an end Chelsea continued to stroke Dakotas head making her comfortable. Our task that day was extremely difficult as all dog lovers know, but our experience with Dr. Radtke and staff made the horrible experience bearable and memorable.Thank you all for what you do. It made it so much for comfortable for my family.Sincerely,JEFF MILLER
Excellent all around. Very comfortable waiting room for humans!! Most importantly, Dr. Radke and the entire staff was wonderful with our kitty!
One day my dog started limping and was wincing in pain with every step. My usual Vet couldnt find a same-day spot for us, so I tried Sabino Veterinary Care; and they said they could squeeze us in.We were the last appointment of the day, and except for me noting that my watch showed a time later than the hours printed on the door, youd never know that I was making everyone stay late. The entire staff was as friendly and fantastic late in the day as they would have been at noon.Instead of launching right into troubleshooting Dr Jim first took the time truly get to know my dog. He crouched down to her level while petting her and saying soothing words (my dog is pretty high strung). He made the excellent point that she was in a strange place with someone shed never seen before and he wanted to put her at ease before starting an exam.It turns out that the issue was only a deeply embedded thorn that my dog had stepped on. Dr. Jim was able to remove it with little problem.I had only intended to go to Sabin Veterinary just this one time, but Dr Jim and the entire staff was so amazing that I decided that he and Dr Susan would become our primary Vets.Since then Ive mostly worked with Dr. Susan. Recently weve been facing a more serious health issue during which Dr. Susans caring and compassion for both me and my dog has really shone through. Dr. Susan worked very hard to provide us with options and alternatives that balanced possible positive outcomes with financial considerations. We ended up having to go to a specialty care Vet, but I was most impressed and appreciative that Dr. Susan still followed up with me to see how we were doing and if there was anything we needed.I have also referred 2 of my friends to Sabino Veterinary Care and theyve both shared with me similar stories that highlight just how wonderful both Dr Susan and Dr Jim are. Just to give you an idea of how much my friends like Sabino Veterinary Care they each drive close to 30 minutes to bring their pets there (in Tucson thats a long way).Thank you both so much for all you do for our four-legged friends!
No words can adequately describe the kindness and gentleness of Dr Jim who helped me make the decision to let my Frankie go. The extra time he spent with me, the detailed description of what to expect, his compassion and empathy were amazing and went far beyond any experience I have ever had in my 50 years of owning pets. His doting staff also went out of their way to ease the loss. They are truly dedicated to caring for both animals and their owners in a professional and expert fashion. and supporting their patients during the most difficult of times..I simply cannot thank them enough.Susan Freud
Sabino Veterinary Care was recommended to us by a friend who is very particular about her dogs. We brought our 8 month old puppy to see Dr. Susan. The dog was suffering from a case of Giardia which another vet was unable to control. We were very pleased with the entire experience from the first telephone contact to the front desk staff to the technician and doctor. The care has been extraordinary. Our puppy (now 10 months old) is happy and healthy. We have become regular patients at Sabino and were grateful for the genuine concern and professional expertise offered by this fine office.
Thor was in such bad pain from an ear infection when we brought him in, he would whine at just the thought of itching his ear. Just one day after having the vet put an ointment in and putting him on antibiotics, he is a brand new happy pup! Thank you so much for the excellent care you gave to our new dog! We couldn’t ask for a better vet to take care of our rescued baby :)
Quick service and very knowledgeable. Helped get my dog’s weight issue taken care of
I can always count on them to take care of my fur babies.
Drs. Susan and Jim Stofft have cared for both our aging cat, Samantha and our dog, Belle for many years before becoming owners of Sabino Veterinary Care. They are caring, thorough, professional veterinarians. We feel confident that both Samantha and Belle are getting the best most professional care possible when either Jim or Susan treat them. We are impressed with the caring and efficient staff at the clinic.
Because we are new to Tucson, our dog is too. Based on the reviews we could find on line we chose to try Sabino Veterinary as our regular vet. Between the time that we made the appointment and we went, our poor dog had to go to the emergency vet twice. When we saw Dr. Susan my wife, myself and especially our dog were vet weary.Dr. Susan and her staff could not have been more caring and concerned for our 15 yr old dog! We were made to feel at ease while being impressed by the professional care provided. We are selfish so dont go to this Vet care ...We Want them all to ourselves ! Charlie
I take my two dogs to Dr. DellOrto at Sabino Veterinary Care and Ive received excellent care for both of them. The staff is kind and knowledgeable and Dr. DellOrto is thorough and meticulous in her care for my dogs. .
We received excellent and compassionate care from the entire staff
