We found this place online after deciding to leave the cold Minnesota winter behind. They always were on top of our needs, requests, ect. The grounds were always being tended too, which was nice. Staff and maintenence were always kind and friendly. Our apartment was decent but could of used updates and better windows and blinds and a bit pricey (rent). We were disappointed that both pools werent heated, plus the one pool that was heated was only for a short time.Otherwise we would recommend checking them out and take a tour to see if its the right fit for you

So many other things. Nothing special. They say I’m in an upgraded apartment lol. Yeah okay. To par maybe. Again. They wish they were special.

A SUPERIOR place to live. I just signed for a 2nd 12-month term. Great friendly knowledgeable attentive staff. Great views of Mt. Lemmon and a property-surrounding golf course. Amazing QUIET friendly neighbors. 2 pools, main pool heated in winter and has TV, gas grills, and ambient fire pit. Living here will grant your children access to #1 school district in Arizona (CFSD). Only 1 mile from grocery, banking, pharmacy, posh shopping, fine dining, and more. I could write more but come check it out for yourself.. I LOVE this place...

I lived at The Legends for 3 years and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. The apartments are clean, well kept and very safe. I worked overnights for my entire stay there and I was never woken up. The complex is so quiet and my neighbors were sweet and inviting as well. The prices are reasonable and the community amenities are also fantastic. I would recommend this living environment to anyone!

We lived at the Legends for 2 years and would say that the apartments are beautiful. We also liked the neighborhood and the fact that rent was affordable. We however disliked how they treated us when we were about to move out of Arizona. They tricked us by using verbal agreements and at the end would say that we never gave them a notice to vacate. When the time to leave came, they started charging us money and Lisa (The Manager) was very disrespectful to me when I called to inquire what was going on.My wife conducted the apartments inspection with a certain McKenzie and she was told that she was good to go to later receive a bill of almost $1800.We had to pay for a carpet which we left very clean. We sent a carpet cleaner to see what was wrong and he told us that it had a stain caused by dog fisces...and we dont own a dog or have a friend who owns a dog...All this happened weeks after we had moved. In summary, any time you talk to those guys, make sure they give you a written proof otherwise they will charge you for no reason and say that they dont know what you are talking about. As they say in French,À bon entendeur,Salut! You are warned if you plan to live here or already live here with the intention of moving in the near future.

Great experience living here for the last year. The unit was very clean, maintenance was prompt and office staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Perfect location if you want to be away from the chaos. Our only complaint would be some loud landscaping early in the am every now and then. Pools and workout room are awesome, clean and welcoming! Overall, very happy with our living experience here and would strongly recommend (and have) to others. Thanks Legends! :)

Luis was super helpful in finding an apartment for my friends from out of the country. He was professional and had great communication. The apartments are nice, some are more upgraded than others. It would be nice if they replaced the old carpets with wood laminate flooring, but the views and location make this complex a worthwhile stop if you are looking for a place to live in the Tucson area.

PROS = The location is great. You are in a safe area and they keep the grounds really nice. I lived in a one bedroom apartment for 3 years. I loved the layout and all the storage of the apartment. They do put money back into the complex by repainting, new roofs etc.CONS = They RAISE THE RENT EVERY YEAR!!!! At the end of my 3 years I was paying a couple hundred dollars more than when I first moved in. They are not small rent increases but large rent increases that happened every year. They do not care if you are quiet, nice, pay your rent on time, dont make any complaints or dont have a lot of maintenance calls. They are a big business first and only care about coming out on top. So be warned. Also, DO NOT TRUST ANYONE IN THE OFFICE. Everyone from Lisa, Talon, to whoever they have in the revolving door front office does not care about you. They are there for NALS-the company. I had a big issue that went on for 2 months. I respectfully and nicely came into the office every week for 2 months straight asking for updates trying to get my issue resolved. I continuously got the brush off from both Lisa and Talon. It was only after 2 months that I broke down crying because I was miserable and not receiving any help that Lisa (the manager) finally took me seriously because she didnt realize it was so important to me before that point, even after me coming into the office for 2 months straight about the same issue. Furthermore, BEWARE OF HIDDEN CHARGES. Keep records of everything...every bill, every charge, every email or correspondence from them. When I moved out my apartment was clean and really well cared for. I expected to get my full deposit back. They found no fault with my apartment but yet still did not give me back my full deposit. Instead they found a hidden water charge from 3 years prior that they said I never paid. They did not talk to me about the charge during the entire time I lived there nor notified me that I had any type of outstanding balance. In fact you can go online and view your monthly charges and see what you owe. The hidden charge was never on there and I always paid in full and on time.Overall, I loved my actual apartment, the grounds and the area. However, I had multiple bad experiences with the office staff and they completely lost my trust in them to do the right thing. So rent at your own risk.

I have lived here for almost 9 years. I chose it when I moved out after finishing up at UofA because it was close to my first job and had all the amenities I was looking for. I have stayed because I have always felt safe and loved the beauty of the Foothills. Management has changed over the years and I was on the verge of leaving the complex when NALS took over. They have made a world of difference. The community has been extremely well maintained and managed under their watch. The staff is friendly, competent, and helpful. The facilities are beautifully maintained. And the maintenance - they do just an amazing job. They are quick to respond and get things fixed in one visit. They are also all extremely courteous and friendly. I have loved living here and it will be bittersweet when I buy my first home and leave this community.

The Legends may be more on the expensive side, but its a nice community. They have good facilities (2 pools, fire pit, bbq, spa, gym, office). They offer 1 covered parking space and there is plenty of other parking spots. The grounds are nice. The management is great. The downsides are that the in inside of the apartments arent especially nice and if you live on the bottom floor, sound from upstairs neighbors can be loud and annoying. They also dont have any type of playground for children.

Everything is great until you need maintenance in you apartment so you decide to address the issue to the office. They tell you a handyman is going to be there but he/she does not show up ever. You have to constantly rant about your problem for it to be fixed. I called about an issue at my apartment 2 weeks ago and I was told a handyman was going to be here the next day but didnt show up. I called again a week ago and nothing. THIS IS FRUSTRATING. Other than that, great.

My mom Delia has been living here for about 7 years and she really is starting to enjoy it. She has a down stairs apartment with a gorgeous Golf Course view. It is getting harder for her to get around these days, and ever since the new company took over they have been so great to her. They were able to get new saftey bars in the shower and around the toilet for stability, and keep the proerty much more lit at night. They have even cut down some trees that used to bang into my moms car in her covered spot. They seem to really be putting some care into the property. The new manager Jenifer really seems to know what she is doing. I used to want my mom to move to assisted living, but now I think she will be just fine for a few more years.

Kevin, did a great job this afternoon fixing my air-conditioning system. I was lying in bed last night and the air-conditioning came on and I heard a knocking about every 21/2 seconds and as soon as it went off the knocking went away. I called the office this morning and within a couple of hours Kevin was knocking at my door to fix the problem. He did a great job and the knock is gone. Thank YouTom

My boyfriend and I had been so excited to move to The Legends, the space, location, gated community were such an upgrade from our first place together. We were really happy there for about a week - that is when our neighbor, below us, started to complain about the noise that was coming from our apartment. The noise was due to loose floor boards that were creaking. I actually had the chance to go into our neighbors apartment and hear my boyfriend walk around above us. I felt so bad! After hearing just how loud it was - no one could live that way (Keep in mind we were just walking, like you should be able to do in your home). The craziness with her didnt stop but you cannot fault The Legends for a neighbor, but you can fault them for the LACK of help they gave us and her in order to fix the issues. They secured ONE floor board when they were numerous floor boards that needed to be fixed, which we pointed out to the manager. In numerous emails we expressed our concern for the rest of the floor boards to be fixed so our neighbor below could stop complaining, and we could stop dealing with her harassment (she called the cops on my boyfriend for playing acoustic guitar at 6pm!!!) Along with a huge list I will not bore you with. The manager ignored most of our emails, and the ones she did reply to gave us no solutions, we were giving her solutions and she ignored them. She even replied once that she was sorry she had not responded yet, but a family emergency took her from the office and that she would be in touch shortly. She was never in touch again. After that final email from her she would not even look at us when we came into the office, and it goes without saying she wouldnt speak to us either. We tried to go over her head to her boss and we never got a response from them either. After the manager made Talon handle all things regarding us we realized if he had been helping us from the get go, we wouldnt have been so angry with how The Legends had treated us. Talon is the only one I would recommend in that office. If you do decided to move to The Legends please only deal with him when expressing issues or concerns, or else you will be shrugged off.I think a lot of rental companies forget that, we the renter, are who they work for. Once you get locked in a lease they stop treating you like you are human. This was our home! You should never feel threatened or uncomfortable when you go get your mail from the office because the manager is immature and unable to say hello. Our downstairs neighbor has since moved out and so have we. I sure hope before anyone else moves into our former home they fix the floorboards! It was such a nightmare for both parties and we truly believe that it could have all been avoided. Instead we were avoided. Please NALSs (the management company), replace the entire office staff at The Legends, except Talon. Oh the kicker, manager of this property is also the district manager.More cons:the place randomly smells like sewer, cockroaches in and out of the apartment (I read about this before moving there and thought it wasnt true - luckily we only had two encounters and that was after they flushed the sewage or something).I try to keep all of my reviews positive unless something really awful takes place (see my other reviews). Just beware of management.

I have lived here for 4 years. The new management has been less than friendly, or down right rude in some cases, since coming in a couple of years ago. Since Ive been here, we have the following issues: water gets turned off often - sometimes without notice; electricity goes off often - never with notice; they have to bomb the water pipes for roaches 1-2 times a year which means you have to plug up every source of water for 3 days or you get a flood of roaches or chemicals flooding through your apartment; the whole lower half of the community is a communications black hole - you cant get cell reception, Centurylink internet is abysmal, and you are forced to use Xfinity and use a cable running the length of your apartment to get internet to the master bedroom; they closed the gym and heated pool for an entire winter for repairs and upgrades without recompense; its a gated community and yet the gate is often broken for weeks at a time. And now, to top it off, they have a policy that if you or your property gets hit by a golfball, of which I find daily, they are not liable. They will only cover if your apartment window gets broken. They say you have to go after La Paloma golf course, which of course, ALSO has a no liability contract with its golfers. So, in reality, if you get hit, once you pick yourself off the ground, you have to go to the golf course, track down the person who hit the ball, get their personal information, and then take them to court for damages. Right. Like thats going to happen.

Location is great! Staff members are usually courteous, but often unavailable to answer the phone. Messages left with answering service receive no reply. Apartments, appliances & amenities are standard at best. Current management remodeled ameneties with assurance that lease rates would not increase. However, the first time we renewed under this management they suggested we pay $100+ more per month. Prior to signing our 2nd lease under NALS management, they suggested we pay another $50 more per month. The office provides inconsistent information and tried to increase the rent again after printing a proposal with only a $25 increase. We have lived in the same apartment, paid every month ontime, take extremely good care of our unit for over 4 years. We even referred to occupy two additional units. When it comes to the lease rate to renew, this management uses current market value regardless of previous rate. The Legends at La Paloma provides average amenties and service. We love the location and we will recommend the area to the numerous newly arrived service members that inquire. However, unless new management or policies take over, we will vacate and recommend AGAINST signing up for the financial roller coaster offered by NALS.
