On August 20th, 2021 I went to this salon as a highly recommended place from a co worker. The gentleman that sat in the far left hand corner did my ANC. He rushed through the process and as you can see my nails are uneven and lumpy. I asked him to fix them and he said okay no problem and they still looked terrible. Instead of saying something to the owner Kevin right then and there I called the following day requesting to speak to Kevin. I told him what happened and he told me the guy could fix them. I expressed to the owner I did not this guy doing my nails because he messed them up then tried to fix them and they still looked like garbage. I asked him if someone else could fix them and he said no next time I come in to ask for someone else. I am completely disappointed in the service I received as a first time customer, you think the owner would want to make things right by fixing them, refunding me, or giving me a credit for my next visit…but no. I will not go back here and I do not recommend this nail salon to anyone.

Great place!!! Very clean!!! Very personable and friendly!!! Made you feel relaxed even when very busy treated you as if you were the only person. My 11 year old daughter was thrilled with everything as well. She is not an easy pleaser!!! Definitely will be back!!

This was busy on an early Friday afternoon. I had an appt at 1pm but didnt get serviced until 130.I am happy about how my nails turned out :)

They were so great except I was getting pedicures with my boyfriend and they assumed he wasn’t getting color and ended the pedicure abruptly. Just a bummer

I’ve been a couple times and always had a very positive experience. I went today after breaking one of my nails that I had gotten done recently. They took extra care and time to ensure that they matched the exact color and design

I’ve been going here since they open,,, I stopped going during. COVID. And when I returned last week. I had the worst customer service ever ! I had a 2 pm appointment,, they started soaking myNails around 230 and let me sit there soakingFor an hour and 45 mins !!!! They eventually did finish my messy nails around 5:00pm. !! Couldn’t believe that experience. I probably will never give them my business again :(

I went to Venus nail spa a couple days ago. This was my second time there as my sister dragged me there two weeks prior to get my nails done. I ended up getting a gel manicure and pedicure abd was satisfied with the results. My nails technician at the time was Angie. Shes the only caucasian person that works there which I thought was inclusive and progressive. I usually only see Asians techs at nail salons unless under a manager of a different ethnic background. Now, I come from NYC where there is much competition and many nail salons. Angie was great, we talked a lot and got to know each other which was nice.Fast forward to a couple days ago I wanted to get ANC with a tip. I call the salon as soon as they open and ask to schedule an appointment with Angie and for ANC with Tips. They told me to come at 11:15am and she would be ready. I get there early and wait in my car. I walk in and Angie greets me and ask who am I there for and what am I getting done. I thought was strange she didnt recognize me because I received a $50 service last time and tipped her $20. You would remember someone that over tips. But maybe she didnt because of the mask. Idk. Anyway, I told her what I was there for and she said, Oh, I dont do ANC with tips. I said, I called earlier and was informed that you do. Mind you, I dont live in the area. I live downtown Albany. 20 minute drive away. She said that she would speak to the person who answered the phone. She goes in the back and doesnt come back out. So 3 men are standing there and 1 asks me to pick a color. I asked which person was doing my nails and the guy pointed to another guy and said him. I asked was he any good because sometimes they stick you with new people. He shakes his head No and walks to the back. The other men walk to the back and I just looked at them and walked out!I wish they had black owned salons up here and/or folks that speak the language.Not coming back and they just lost two customers and great tippers.

The work was great and quick! Only giving 4 stars because they had the news on their TVS. With all of the negativity going on in the world, the last thing I want to hear when trying to relax and get pampered is the news.

1st time there and now will be a customer for life. Kevin is amazing at what he does. Im very pleased with my ANC and pedicure.

Service was okay a bit pricey compare to nearby shops. Theyre constantly talking which can be irritating when youre just trying to get pampered. The place overall is well maintained and cleaned. Although, I do believe they could make an effort to replace the lining in the trashcan regularly instead of letting it overflow. Then again that was my observation and simply an opinion. Otherwise Id recommend...

Im not really sure what all the nasty reviews are about. I have seriously never had a bad experience here. Every time I leave, my nails look stunning. Nowhere North of Troy could make my nails look this nice. Every nail tech has evenly cut, shape, and filed the nail perfectly. If you dont want to wait around just call and make an appointment ahead of time! You will enjoy the service Venus Nail Spa brings to you.

I like this place quite a bit. I’ve been several times, sometimes when it’s very busy sometimes when it isn’t too bad. Every time I have been serviced very shortly after I walked in. I’ve had manicure and pedicures here and they are always good. It’s super clean and new which I really like (best massage chairs ever!). Between all the positive service experiences, the quality of work, and the overall nice feel of this place I will definitely keep coming back.

My friend and hair stylist recommended Venus, and I told Kevin that when I went. He also knew these nails were for my wedding. I booked an appointment the week before, but both my pedicure and my manicure were rushed. The pedicure left my feet feeling rough and so dry that they were cracking and painful but the nails came out good. One trip to my old salon and my feet are baby soft, she even said something about the state my feet were left in! The pictures of my manicure speak for themselves. One is a picture of what I got and the other is what I asked for. I was really disappointed in my experience. If this is how customers are treated knowing it’s for an important occasion, I can’t imagine what kind of job would be done for an every day occasion.

Cindy and Anthony are the best in the business... They take so much pride in their work and are especially talented using much detail and time in their creative nail work. Venus is a very nice nail salon, everyone is friendly and accommodating....Sip on a glass of wine as you enjoy a spa pedicure🍷

On two occasions with the same nail technician the service was awful ! ANC with tips and they pop off . Went back to have them fixed and they pop right off again. He was mad that we came back and cut my finger with the sander. Definitely done with this place !

I’ve been going to Venus for quite a while. When you observe how inconsiderate customers can be, it is impressive that any business maintains professionalism. Venus does a good job.

I picked a pink color, “party time” ANC 132 and the nail tech brought over ANC 133, which was a black color. I thought maybe the color was just different than what it looked like on display. However, as it was finished being applied, I knew there was NO WAY, that the color I picked should look Black... who wants black nails for New Years?! sure as heck, checking out, paying.. I looked at the display and she gave me a color TOTALLY different than what I asked for. She agreed to fix it. Then passed me off to a male tech. I asked what he was doing for the evening, and he said, going home late! Like I’m sorry your tech screwed up, but that isn’t my fault or problem. He was rushing because he wanted to go home, just put the pink over the black in a hurry.. did not redo it correctly. He was annoyed and cut me with the filer a couple times. Between the two of them they made me bleed about 4-5x. My friend Jordyn recommended me.. I was hoping for a good experience, but I will not be back! It’s hard to find a good nail salon, I get rude or mediocre treatment every salon I go to. I’m about to call it quits on nails for real. If I am paying for a service, I am entitled to what I ASKED for! Not whatever color the nail tech felt like grabbing and some attitude for her screw up. From here on out I will pay close attention to what color I picked vs which one is brought by the tech. Didn’t realize it was such a hard task.

My wife never gets good service there. The last time was last night when they rushed her hand and toe nails having two people do her nails at the same time. She had to twist her body over so that one girl could do her hands while the guy was doing her toes. It suppose to be a fun experience, not a factory line. Plus it came out bumpy, rough and unfinished. After she showed me we went right back to get our money back but they refused. They said they dont refund anyone, but will redo them. Well after a 25 minute wait someone finally came and fixed them. They still look awful but what are you gonna do? My advice, dont pay them until you are completely satisfied, and if youre not then refuse to pay, see how they like it. Bad Business!!!

Wife loved her nails and got a pedicure myself. cleanest nail salon around the area. Happy wife happy life

Just got home from my first visit here, would not return again. Never wanted this short. After getting an ANC manicure with no care to the cuticles or hands at all and voicing how much I didnt like the shape. Nothing, no response other than she could reshape the thumb as it was crooked. I said no as they were already to short. Of course its my word against hers, but why would I get that service to have them filed down to stubs? I wouldnt. So now Im headed out to vacation with ugly nails. I was recommended here by Ivy Nails. I wouldnt ever go back, so disappointed.

This place is so good. I got the ANC manicure today and the woman who worked on me did amazing. My nails are also short right now so it was probably a pain to do but nonetheless came out beautiful.

I came here and had a horrible experience. I was cut 2 times with a nail filer.. My gel manicure looks like a child did it work experience ever! Definitely not worth 30$ .

This has been my go to nail place since they opened up in North Greenbush. Anthony and all of his employees are awesome! Very welcoming and fun atmosphere. Always makes you feel at home when you go in for a mani/pedi. By far the best nail salon I’ve been to in the capital district!!

1 Star is even too much. Worst service ever! One of the manicurists literally looked right thru me when I asked a question about sparkle for my girls and walked away. I assumed she didn’t speak English but when I asked the front door host he said she does. It happened 3 times when I asked direct questions for assistance or guidance.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve been coming here since they opened, the staff is amazing. Prices are good.

Its an average pedicure for am average price. I like the parrafin pedi the best. Today i made an appointment with a friend and they ended up taking a walk in and her small daughter ahead of us. My friends pedicure started 15-min before mine. Our plan of catching up during the pedis didnt happen, which was annoying because I had made appointments. If we were walking in, i would have understood but this was just poor management. Its about volume not customer service.

Absolutely amazing. Two pedicures and anc ..also acrylic fill with gel polish. Anthony is amazing..I am so picky its not even funny, he did the shape of my coffin nails perfectly. Pedicures were amazing too!!!

Been going here for 2 years. Beautiful and affordable. Lots of pampering options. I moved from Troy to Albany but I will still go here.

I’ve been going here since they opened and it’s the only place I’ll go! I’ve never been unhappy and they all do great work. Everyone’s so nice, it’s very clean and I consistently receive the same service every time!

They all speak English really well which is a major plus. An ANC removal/application and pedicure w/wax, takes about an hour rather than 2 hours or more. Savina really gets in and digs out the hangnails also a major plus.My only suggestion is to have a better organization of the ANC colors so when the customers says a certain number it is easily found and is the right color. I have yet to have the color I chose on the samples actually applied to my nails. Its no big deal, but I do like to have the colors coordinate with the seasons or holidays. Organize them on a rack on the wall in the back if it is more convenient, but for Gods sake, get the right color for your customer.

Kevin is great! He was recommended from one of my daughters friend now my daughter and I always ask for him .

Service was not what it used to be. First couple of times it was great. Today was not. Both of us got the deluxe pedicures and there was minimal massaging just wrapped in hot towels twice.did good job on the nails themselves but could not understand that I wanted no polish, no color. Must have told me 10 times to pick out a color. And at the end said again where is your color... I said no color no polish but can you put my socks on for me? He had a very hard time putting .my socks on my dry feet. My partner also was not feeling very pampered. They did not even take her toe protectors out she had to, And she had to ask them twice if we were done as we were just left to sit in the pedicures chairs....

I have gone here several times and have received consistent service. Great pedicures, and great selection of ANC colors. Several different staff members have worked on my nails, they’re all good, butCindy is my favorite and I think she does THE best.

Worst service I have ever experienced. 5 people working. I sat there soaking my nails while I was the first person to come in and other people were being helped before me who came in after. Do not go here. I have never been more disappointed in a nail salon. Now my nails are destroyed from having them soak for 20 minutes while I waited for someone working to actually WORK.

They girl I had did a nice job on my nails but the guy that had asked me what I needed when I walked in sounded annoyed. He told me it was a 30 minute wait and when I told him I didn’t mind waiting, his response again sounded annoyed, almost like he didn’t want my business... Anyways, the girl that did my nails did a nice job but she seemed uninterested and kept sighing like I was an inconvenience. I understand that these people probably work long hours all day every day but they made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them which made me feel uncomfortable to be there.

Walked in on a Saturday... Regardless of if I walked in or not, I sat for over an hour waiting for them to start my ANC nails. Kept being told it would only be 5 more minutes several times, multiple people were in and out before I was even called to get my nails done, and the staff knew that I had been waiting since they kept telling me I would be next or just a few more minutes. Ended up leaving without a manicure at the 1hour and 30 minute mark. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

This is by far the best nail salon in the Albany area! Kevin did my mani/pedi and he was awesome. The salon itself is very clean, modern, and everyone there was so friendly. They use high quality products and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back here.

Kevin did amazing work!! A little disappointed that I couldnt get exactly what I wanted but we found a beautiful compromise! The four is because Im not a fan of compromise.

The laziest techs ever. I had ANC done and it was thin. 2 nails broke from doing absolutely nothing within 3 days. Charged me 5 for a nail fixes.... are you kidding? Go elsewhere!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My nails fell off in less than a week. They were all different shapes. I waited for a solid 25 minutes after getting my hands done before anyone ever notcied that I also needed a pedicure. They are extremely disorganized and only care about rushing you to move on to the next customer.

I had an appointment with the owner waited an hour for the quickest crappiest ANC job ever. I would have changed my appointment if I knew they were too busy to take me

I paid $10 to remove my ANC myself. I went with a friend for ANC manicures and they forgot about us. While I was soaking in remover they kept taking more walk-in customers until more than 40 minutes passed and I had to go. I wound up scraping it off the best I could. I explained to the manager how long I waited and thought they would apologize. Instead they stuck me with a $10 bill for twenty cents worth of acetone and my own labor. I will NEVER return here.

My granddaughter was thrilled with her ANC

So I’ve been to this salon 3 times. Got my nails done once. It’s a shame too cuz nick did a great job. But the other two times it was so freaking HOTT Inside, that I left! So hot I was sweating just sitting there. Rediculious! So annoyed. I’m not gonna sit there and sweat the whole time I’m getting my nails done. That’s not relaxing at all 😕

Two visits now. Disappointed on second visit, inconsistent service. I was made to wait for the next nail tech who was not even at work yet. They finally decided to have someone else do my nails. They turned out ok but they were done in a very rushed manner. Not at all professional here.

I just had my nails done there for the fourth time. Normally it turns out well but this time the anc came out bad. The clear coat polish is all rippled and and looks awful. I always give a 10 dollar tip over the 30$ price too. This is definitely not worth the money.

Very clean, did a good job on Mani/pedi, loved the fact I didnt hear many conversations in a different language.

Worst service ever. They do not clean properly their instruments. My wife got nail fungus after visit with them. Would not recommend to go there to anyone.
