This afternoon was my first time visiting Velvet Nail Lounge and I will FOR SURE be back! I had an absolutely amazing experience, sipping on an iced Vietnamese coffee while Sidney gave me the BEST pedicure! The location was clean & beautiful, the coffee was delicious, and the conversation was great. 10/10 recommend!

Linda did such an awesome job! I got a shellac French manicure with a twist, and she nailed it (pun intended). It has been almost 2 weeks and my nails are still looking great. I definitely recommend this place.

I love VNL, and have been a client for years. I cant imagine going elsewhere. :) Not only do I love the staff, but their entire space is literally ALWAYS SPARKLING CLEAN. Like, immaculate. Its always nice to walk into that! OK, so the more exciting stuff: Ive recently started seeing Mandy for my dip manicures after my previous nail tech switched careers, and I couldnt be happier each time theyre done! She is so friendly; both the dip and the almond shape have looked perfect each time. (See pic!). Never in my life have I gotten gel or dip nails, without them chipping/cracking almost immediately. But Im convinced Mandy might be a nail sorcerer?!? And Jennie is the only person Ill ever trust to touch my brows. Period. They always look amazing. Also, they take appointment times seriously there, which Ive always appreciated. Yes; VNL is a smidge pricier than other area salons but 100% WORTH IT, and worth the 30+ min drive it takes me to get there. They are true professionals. Thanks, yall!! :)

Ive had my nails done by Aspen along with extremely relaxing pedicures.I also had an eyelash lift & tint treatment done their by the owner Jennie.They also have a little cafe inside with amazeball drinks!I will go no where else to get my nails & eyelashes done! Let’s talk about finding a great manicure with fancy art. I am a big fan of nail church, Fingerbang PDX, best nails club, and more. I am a detail girl and expect my hands to look amazing. This place delivers.

Good customer service and thank you, Mandy. I love the colors. I will be back. Please make sure to call and make an appointment. Very important! Make sure that the time works for you. Theyre open until 7pm. I went in on a Thursday night. It was quiet and the atmosphere was nice. Clean place and the tools were new from its package. Prices are available online at their website. There were so many colors to pick from. Update: Im a regular there and the staff is still great. My first appointment there was for shellac and the last 2 appointments were dip powder. It cost more $55 for dip powder and $45 for shellac. But both includes polish, shape, soak off, lotion and cuticle oil. There is no additional charge for how many colors you can pick. They dont do fancy designs but do talk to the nail technicians. They could probably do it. Communication is key. Have a good day.

Called randomly during my work day to see if I could get in after work. The lovely receptionist was able to get me in on my lunch break instead!Barabra, my pedicurist, was waiting for me promptly as soon as I walked in the door. Excellent service in under an hour. They asked that I wash my hands once I came in. I really appreciated the extra step to reduce exposure. Masks were worn the entire time as well. Will definitely return in a few weeks.

Mandy was great! Fast and great service. My feet felt wonderful after my pedicure. Mandy suggested services and disclosed prices before I agreed. This will be my goto for pedicures.

I was very pleased with the services. I was in from out of town and walked in to see if I could set up an appointment after I had chipped my polish job. Nick was very personable and was able to accommodate me with an appointment. The pedicure was done very well. I now have an in town nail salon when I come to visit.

Reached out for brow microblading, and was told that the best shape for my face wasn’t her “style”. So all her customers are walking around with the exact same eyebrows even though face shapes vary between people. Lol. The audacityEdit: In response to “artist”: I sent a long message advising that I over plucked and was trying to fix what I messed up but apparently since you have your assistant respond and didn’t speak to me directly, you must have missed it. I sent photos showing the actual fullness of my brows and mentioned that I was trying to achieve symmetry and she just shut the conversation down and said that because we don’t see eye to eye, she not right for me. Wasn’t open at all to what I wanted for my face, not that she took the time to actually find out what I wanted. No one asked you to compromise your artistry for money But you compromised your professionalism when you weren’t even open to speak with me. given the other reviews here, I see the atmosphere around your salon has changed and I won’t be returning. 😊 Thank you

Extremely bad service. Employees argue back if customers want something done.This place doesn’t respect the customer. I would have given 0 star if I could. Employees doesn’t scrub extra for removing extra dead skin. I can’t rave about this nail salon enough! The owners, Jenni and Nick are truly phenomenal, and the way they run their business should set an example to every other nail salon out there. The Velvet Nail Lounge is the best salon I’ve ever been too! Always on time. Always. My nails never grew on there own until I started getting “the dip” at their recommendation several years ago. They are always cutting edge - they were doing this long before anyone else.Always professional. Every one is so nice And they always put the customer first.Also Jenni B does an amazing job with both waxing and Microblading.Jenni and Nick are very proud of the family business they’ve built. And it shows! This customer won’t even think of doing anywhere else.

The most expensive dip manicure Ive ever had. My manicurist unfortunately seemed rushed to finish mine quickly and that was disappointing. She was nice and did good work, but please do not rush your staff to finish someone, it is poor customer service.

I’ve been going to velvet nail lounge for years. I won’t go anywhere else to get my nails done. The salon is beautiful, they have a really good coffee bar, the salon is spotless, and most importantly the nail techs are all wonderful! I see Mandy regularly and always get compliments on my nails. She pays very close attention to detail and always has great tips on what to do to keep my nails looking healthy! I’ve seen other nail techs here as well and they truly are all great at what they do. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

The only good thing is the company.They are very nice to talk to... but the service was horrible. We got the Lux manicure...My sisters hands are dyed a red color from the color they put in the water, her nails are all choppy and bubbly. My lady didn’t even get all of my cuticles so I still have skin hanging in some places, and my nails are see through in some areas, I still have nail polish on my HANDS (not nails, my actual hands). I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Also, with COVID going on the manager WAS NOT wearing a mask at all!! I wish I could give negative starts!! Not to mention the lady dumped her drinking water into my bowl for my hands!!

Today was my first time at velvet and it was awesome. I had a pedicure with Anna and it was so amazing! I opted for their special pedicure that comes with a coffee drink, so glad I did it was worth it. Anna was very sweet, the service was great and the coffee was so good! Ill definitely be back.

I have been going to Anna for years and she is the best most accommodating person ever. Her ability to adjust her schedule to meet my needs when life gets in the way is amazing. Her talent is perfect for me as I was a nail bitter for 50+ years. I still do it sometimes and she Moms me so I acknowledge that I need to stop. She is friendly and communicative so it is a relaxing experience when I am there. Everyone is right, Jennie is the most talented eye brown guru every. The entire environment is the best experience.

Velvet Nail Lounge is my go-to place for my mani/pedi. Mandy does an excellent job with my mani dip that really lasts. Her pedi is outstanding. In addition, Jenny B is the only person I will ever let touch my eyebrows. She does an amazing job with my micro-blading. I get compliments on my eyebrows all the time from complete strangers who say they love my brows and can’t believe they aren’t just natural. Velvet nail lounge is the best place in Troy. The owners truly care about their customers.

This is my go to place to relax and spend some me time. For a bit more than a year, I have been enjoying manicures and pedicures with Mandy. She always does an excellent job with my nails and is spot on with recommendations and helping to choose colors. The place is very clean and bright and everyone is very pleasant to be around.

Awesome salon. The technicians know so much about their trade and you can tell they really do care about both the health and look of your nails. Brittany has been working with me to get my nails back to a healthy state after years of going to salons that didnt care and just cranked out customers. My nails are now so much thicker and stronger than ever! They also provide other things besides nail services. While I have only tried the eye lash curl and tint service (and loved it) I have never once seen someone leave unhappy. Definitely a salon you should go to if you want both health and trend!

Neat place. They have a coffee bar and my tech did a great job. I just wished the had asked if I wanted shellac. Other than that I will go again.

She is so sweet- I have a long history of bad nail salon experiences and Aspen made me feel so comfortable in the chair. She is a joy and has a true natural talent for nails!!

I prefer the Dip process manicure and standard pedicure procedures. I was so pleased with Aspens work on my nails I also had her start doing my brows. I had been burned by several other salons both on my nails and brows; tired of Dips that chipped within the first week of wear and brows so super thin you could barely see them! Aspen leaves my brows the width I want and I am getting 3 - 4 weeks on each Nail Dip process. Aspen is always waiting for me at my appointment time; at other salons my appointment time seemed to mean nothing. I have purchased gift cards for my niece to get her nails and brows down with Aspen. Great work; very professional and fun to talk with! Not the assembly line so common at many salons these days.

Whenever I come visit family, first thing I do is make my appointments at The Velvet Nail Lounge. I was so thrilled to not only find a location that offer so many beauty services; but the employees are always such a delight creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Among the services I get done there, one of them is the lash lift with Jennie. You can see the passion and meticulous efforts she puts in her work - and I must say, Ive become hooked with the lash lift! As someone who used to wear lash extensions, the lash lift offers a more natural, flirty look and if cared for properly, lasts much longer.In short: HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

Velvet Nail Lounge is a beautiful modern nail salon. Since moving back to Michigan, I have been going there on a regular basis. The nail techs there have mastered the art of the calcium dip nail and are all fabulous. My nails always look great when I get the done there.Jenny also does an impeccable job with brow grooming and microblading. I won’t go anywhere else for my brows!

Today was my first day coming to this salon, I loved my experience, the lady who did my nails was so sweet and easy to talk too. However, my only complaint was the 25 dollar cancellation fee I had to pay because I couldn’t call to cancel my appointment due to my Brocken phone. I was told I’d get a warning, but they charged me anyway. I ask the employee if she’d talk to her manager, she didn’t and charged me anyway. I mean policy is policy and it was my fault so I didn’t make a big deal about, but it would’ve been nice if she removed it, oh well. Other than that the places was so clean and everyone else was so friendly. The girls were beautiful and they are so great at what they do. My nails never looked this good and even tho it was expensive I can honestly say it was worth it. I will never go to another salon again.

At first I was very happy to come into the salon and see the smiling face of the guy in front of the register. But unfortunately the girl giving the service was rude. I was very happy to hear that they can take me right away with an appointment. When the girl was taking off my old shellac she was complaining how bad it is and it takes long time to take off. But excuse me it was on my nails for three weeks, while the work she did couldn’t even last for a ❗️week❗️Further more for this poor service they charged me $45. Just a regular plain shellac. Is it only me paying that much???

VNL is always a great experience! I have been going there for 7 years now and they always have the best service and client care. I love going to Anna for nails and Jennie for my eyebrows. There is no one who does a better job then them! 10/10 would recommend!

Giving this place a 3 instead of a 2 because I have had my nails done previously and they turned out great. Had a pedicure yesterday and the pedicure itself was alright but the finished product is very messy. I had to take all of the polish off today because its annoying to look at. $60 pedicure.

Jennie is the Queen of eyebrows! She is the best PERIOD! No need to argue the facts, your eyebrows will speak for themselves! I love her work, professionalism, and consistency! I have been to a few eyebrow artists and they have all fallen short in one or all of those areas. This kind of perfection does not come cheap but its worth every penny +tip! My eyebrows have never looked so GOOD!

Came here with a group to get our nails done for my sisters wedding, and the staff is so fun and courteous, it really was a great experience! What really sold me though-- I had been growing my natural nails out intentionally to have them long for this wedding. They looked amazing after I got them done... until I promptly broke one of my nails two hours later. Few things are more frustrating than ruining a great manicure, especially when you have a big event coming. Turns out, VNL will repair your damaged nail FOR FREE within three days of your appointment. I like my regular salon, but they certainly dont offer that. I only wish I lived closer so I could come here more often. So if you live or work in the Troy area, definitely check them out! Im sure youll want to be a regular too.

I visit this salon every time I’m in town to see my family. I decided to try this place out when I read an article in Nail Magazine and realized it was near to where my parents live. I actually make my appointment when I book my plane ticket! I look forward to the specialty pedicures they offer and wish my salon back home in Florida offered these. I couldn’t believe they now have a cafe in their place. Love the staff, love my pedi, and now love the boba tea! Definitely should be on every travelers list of things to do when visiting the Detroit area.

They were amazing everytime i went except this time. They made me go to another nail salon because they were appointments only (which theyve never told me before) the thing is, they were pretty much empty! They caused me a ton of embarrassment because i ended up seeing two other girls from my school at another nail salon and now i want to die. This couldve been avoided by just letting me get my nails done when they clearly had no other business. This used to be my favorite place. Now its dead to me.

Been seeing Mandy here for the past three years! She’s very talented, attentive, and accommodating. I’ve been to other nail salons in the area but none of them compare to VNL.

Spoke with Nick, the owner, and tried to schedule an appointment. He puts me on hold to take care of another call and when he returns to my call after making me wait, the date he told me was available is not anymore because he gave it to the other caller. He didnt care that I was the first caller not did he care that Im a repeat customer. I guess business must be good to turn away customers. Poor customer service by the OWNER! Thanks Nick.

I absolutely LOVE this place! They so accommodating to my busy schedule, very personable staff and excellent work! They offer all kinds of services, my favorite is the no chip; as a RN, I wash my hands OFTEN, pull up pts., etc... the polish lasts 2 or more weeks and they guarantee the no-chip polish for a week. Ill be a faithful customer!

VNL is the best! I went in for a consultation with Jenni for microblading and she takes you through every step of the process! Went in a few weeks later for the actual procedure and it was great! She makes you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the whole experience. I would definitely recommend her for microblading and any other services they provide!

I walked in at 11:55 my appointment was at 12. By 12:55 I had asked her please hurry and put clear in my nails before my interview. I go to pay I’m sorry I had a shellac take off and a mani w REGULAR polish. My nails shouldn’t have taken that long. I had to come back at 4:30 to get them painted. Bless brittneys heart but I JUST woke up and my nails have all types of indentations in them because I’m guessing her top coat was old? Cute place nice staff but wayyyy too expensive for the basic!

Ive been going here for about 5 years now, and despite moving 30+ minutes away, I still happily make the drive for my manicures/calcium dips, pedicures, and eyebrow services every few weeks. Everyone at VNL is super-duper kind and extremely professional. Anna does my nails—and not only is she a true artist (and crazy perfectionist, which is great), shes honestly one of the sweetest, friendliest humans around. Also they make yummy lattes at their VietJoe coffee bar. So make yourself an appt and go there! Cant recommend Anna and VNL enough. :)

Very poor customer service. I had a broken nail and they refused to put a tip or acrylic on my nail because I was getting shellac. There is no law against getting both, as Ive had this done numerous times at other nail spas. They offered everyone water except me and I was a new customer. They made multiple prejudice comments against Asians in front of me...p.s Im Asian. I will never return. The worst experience EVER!

When you can get in its nice. I was hopeful that when they moved to the new location they would have more space, but still, they never seem to have availability.

I was there about 1 week ago & I have never been so happy. I called last minute on a Saturday and they were able to fit my daughter & I in. The energy of the place was positive, pleasant & uplifting. My daughter & I had the Royal mani & Pedi & were completely satisfied with everything they did. Jennie the manager upgraded my daughters polish to no chip polish for free just because she had to wait a few extra minutes. How thoughtful was she to do that for her? How about VERY! We felt so pampered & appreciated, we are definitely going to make this our new spot. Every one of the staff members here were so cheery, friendly, polite, just so wonderful! I cant complain about 1 darn thing thats how awesome they all are! Both of our nails are still chipped free & hands & feet still soft as ever.About 7 months ago, for the first time, I checked this place out & was not satisfied with the nail tech. She had no personality, she didnt ask me any questions about the services I was getting and didnt even smile. It was like she was just going through the motions to get her job done. I just couldnt wait to get the heck out of there. I later visited a new place to get my nails done & ran into the same nail tech. I was praying she wouldnt recognize me. She went on telling me about the place she worked at before this place she was at, talking bad about Velvet Nail Lounge & I had to stop my service & I walked out of the place because I could tell she was just lying. When I found out that she no longer worked at Velvet, I called & booked an apt. I gave Velvet another shot & thank God I did because Im happier than ever that that nail tech no longer works there.
