He did exactly what I asked him not to do and grind my natural nails too much, left gel polish all over the cuticles and the gel manicure didn’t cure. Two days later and it is a mess. Don’t waste your time or money.

Very precise and good attention to detail. Never have cracks during the week too. Also, they have a wide range of OPI and Essie colors, which is hard to find.

Hoosick plaza has wayyy better and they dont spaz on u for not tipping. Solar nails need to be closed down not clean at all!!! Shes crazy!He didnt do what i wanted he did what he thought was good. After i asked him to cut them because they were to long several times and still didnt listen and they over charge. He cut the side of my finger and said ill be all right. Never again will they get a dime from me. Very unprofessional!

They did a awesome job! I made an appointment, they took me on time. I jad a mani (ANC) and pedi done. I was in and out in 55 minutes 😎

Went in ti get my eyebrows done and she did a great job. I also decided to get a 10 min chair massage which was amazing. If i had the time, i definitely would have paid more to go longer. I would :r33 definitely return

Went here today for a manicure and pedicure because my favorite spot Pretty Nails was packed. The price discussed before I got in a chair was $35 all together. The toe paint job was mediocre at best, but I only got a nude color so I wasn’t that concerned. As I was in the chair for my nails, I asked for ANC with a stiletto shape following up with the question “will this be an up charge?” They replied no, so I said okay. She finished up, and I was really impressed with the work she did for the price being so reasonable. I asked how much I owed her and she said “$65”. In shock I asked how that could be possible, I only brought a specific amount of cash not knowing this would be an issue..she then had the audacity to explain to me that stiletto is an up charge, as well as ANC. I explained I was under the impression I was only going to be paying $35, explaining to her that she should have let me know ahead of time when I asked her about upcharges..had I have known I wouldn’t have gotten them. Anyways, she got her money with no tip for trying to be shady...As I was outside waiting for my ride, she had the nerve to come outside asking if my ride could bring me money for a tip. At this point I lose it on her..after embarrassing me the way she did in the salon, and not letting me know ahead of time what she was going to be charging me. Don’t get me wrong, by no means do I EVER mind spending a little extra at the nail salon, I’m a huge nail girl and always like to have them done. However, I do always like to know what I’ll be paying for in advance just to have a mutual understanding. Out of all the nail places I’ve gone, the miscommunication of pricing has never been as issue. This was my first time ever getting my nails done at Solar and most definitely will be my last. I thought this was all very unprofessional, and will not be returning.

I got my nails done ANC here and the people are very nice to me. My nails looked great at First! I ended up getting 2 infections on my fingers and getting cut and half of my nails chipped within 3 days. I will NEVER return here again

I only come to this nail salon due to it being close to my house. But each time I am ALWAYS disappointed with the turnout. On my last visit, the woman who helped me was very nice. After I paid and it was time to leave a tip she became rude when she didn’t receive what she thought she deserved. I don’t believe you should just get a tip to get a tip - your service warrants the tip. These people are more worried about making money than making sure their customers are happy. It’s really disappointing. When this nail salon first opened it was great, now it’s a train wreck and I would never recommend anyone to come here.

This is my favorite place around... I’ve gone many times and always had a great experience. Everyone is very kind and does great work. My favorite is Trudy but everyone I’ve had has been great!They’re really good about actually keeping appointment times too- where other places seem to make you an appointment but then you end up waiting with all the walk-ins anyway. They’ve even opened early on a Sunday for me, when I called to ask for the Sunday hours. They offered and assured me they were happy to do it, when I tried to protest because I felt bad! Can’t recommend them any more highly.

The service is okay, the people are very nice and attentive. However, they dont know how to do some of the designs you may want. I went in for a pink ombre nail for prom, and the woman I had was nice enough to try multiple designs until I found something I liked. She just didnt know how to do the ombre I wanted.

The lady put hand sanitizer on my eyebrows instead of aloe. My eyebrows burn so bad and i can’t even touch them . they have a red mark under both my eyebrows. Although it was an accident, i’m never coming back.

I asked for gel instead the lady there gave me anc which i did not ask for. I asked her if it would be extra becAuse with gel i usually pay 35 she said no. When everything was done i was charged a price that was higher than 35 (45) for something i didnt ask for then they had the nerve to ask me for a tip as well and she tried to get crazy when i should of decked her in her nose. Point is if didnt have to go pick up my kids she would be in the emergency room right about now. The whackest place in troy please go somewhere else

When they first opened they were great but now not anymore. ANC was terrible....customer service is lacking.

Went in for a mani/pedi. I figured Id let the quality of foot work be my determining factor on if I trusted them with my nails. I went in asking for a pedi and requested no massage (makes less time right?!) and emphasized that I needed very smooth feet, no calluses, no dead skin. Right before polish, and after foot filing, I saw a whole mess of dead rough skin on my feet so I pointed it all out and told him it needs to go. He said I will take care of it. Then polish comes, and still dead skin is left on my feet. Then at the end, dead skin is left on my feet. I had to explicitly tell him that people suck on my feet and toes so they need to be SMOOTH AND NOT ROUGH. He trimmed it off, but theyre still rough as he didnt smooth out where he trimmed. For $40, not worth it! And no, I definitely did not tip! If its not custom to take off calluses and remove dead skin, then its not custom to tip! I do better pedicures myself AND this is why I dont pay for them. Thank you for restoring my confidence in my own work!

Went to get my eyebrows done the lady was very forceful on me giving her a tip I asked my daughter did she want her nails done and the lady automatically charged me for my daughter nails which where 5 dollars so I didn’t care much but the way she painted her nails there was as if my 7 year old daughter did them but worse they was so sloppy and I asked her to clean it up and she proceeded to tell me that’s it’s okay that should of been a red flag giving them the benefit of the doubt I went to get anc which is 55 the guy did them thick and uneven as you can see the wave in my nail he alsotook off the nails I had on with a fake nail not even with acetone which hurt I’m so upset they didn’t do my daughters nail over and my nails are a wavy thick mess please do not go here this is the worse experience I feel they need to be shut down they have the worst customer service the only thing they got going is a clean looking salon

I was in the area and decided to check the place out. The salon seemed clean and put together so I figured it wouldnt be a bad experience. I have naturally long nails so I only wanted ANC color. The lady who did my nails was polite but did a horrible job. The ANC was thick and globby. She didnt paint the color onto the entire nail. It was as if I had fake nails and was in dire need of a fill. I asked her to thin out the ANC. She proceeded to tell me it was fine. She barely shaped them and barely buffed them so they looked as if I had thick acrylic nails on. Even after I asked her to fix them she didnt and told me they were fine. Eventually I asked for the file myself and shaped, filed and thinned them myself. Super rude. I know. But I wasnt walking out of that salon with jacked up nails. I paid the $40 for the services provided and still tipped the lady for her time. But I will never return again. They did a horrible job. Also I am big on sanitation and they used old worn out files and buffer on me. I do nails. And normally do my own. I wanted to treat myself and ended up really upset and $50 poorer! Never again!!!!

Absolutely terrible service the man I had working on my nails and toes was messy and pushy when it came to the tip very inconsiderate and rude. Will never return due to extremely rude customer service

This was the worst experience at a salon i have ever had. My nails looked horrible afterwards, and i asked for someone to fix them and they only fixed 2. It has been less than a week and all of my ANC nails have fallen off. Will never go back. They gave all my friends a lotion and didnt give me one.

Good luck here, no one speaks English!.. I didnt know where this place was and I asked the man where they were located and he kept saying that he didnt understand what iv ad saying. Reproved and over and he still had no clue. Needless to say, I found the place A, had my nails done and 3 days later 2 fell off! Never again at this place !

Had ANC done on my nails and they did not do a very good job. Had it done yesterday and today it looks like they have been growing out now for a couple of days because they didn’t go back far enough to the cuticle. The lines are uneven. Very messy overall.
