TERRIBLE TERRIBLE LOCATION. Even worse staff. When I called them, they pick up the phone and then hang up again. MULTIPLE TIMES! It took so long to figure it where they even were and the Embassy Hotel staff is the one who helped.
Never will I rent from budget again.. they reserved me a car and when I went to location they did have the car. Went to 3 different places plus airport and they still didnt have my type of car.... Budget is the worst place ever ever to rent from
Beware of returning after hours - Valet will charge you !! This location does not have an after drop off service even though they are in the Embassy Suites. If you need a car downtown that allows a late drop off then book with Hertz inside the Marriott. The Valet will take Hertz cars back without gouging the $40.00 or so Valet parking fee. (option with Budget is to use the Airport to drop off after hours) Wont even discuss the condition of the vehicle...
Showed up after making an online reservation. No cars available. Waste of time. Now paying for an Uber to get to the airport for a car. Budget and this independent dealer need to get their act together. Card was charged. Now need to make sure they refund.
After completing the reservation online (meaning: I paid), we were told that they had no car. I then called customer service and spent 45 minutes over the phone to get a refund. in the meantime, my wife called Avis (which apparently is a sister company of Budget) and made another reservation at the same location. She explained what had just happened and she was reassured that a car was available at the location and given a reservation number. As we proceed to pick up the car, an older man and younger woman rudely tell us:we called you and told you that we are sold out. We then explained that 1) they called after we made and paid for the reservation and 2) we then called Avis and were reassured that a car was available. They told us to go elsewhere and that they could not do anything, acting extremely rude and frustrated. Not one apology, not a single effort to fix the situation or to help. Bottom line, I spent half a day dealing with rude and incompetent employees of a very poorly organized company. Avoid at all costs. Hertz is right across the street. Pay a few buck more for a better, headache-free experience.
If I could leave 0 stars I would.The only positive was the 2 girls working. They were awesome. The company was horrendous. No support for their workers. Pickup was at 11am. I arrived before 1030. Didnt get car until 120 pm. When I called Budget they said they were sending assistance which never arrived. Stay away. Rent from the airport! Ruined our plans for the day
Most inefficient car rental I have ever experienced. Stood in line for 1.5hrs to rent a prebooked vehicle. Printer was broken and apparently they had no other cars other than minivans, which is what I had requested but still took forever. At least they were nice but would definitely not recommend using this location.
They don’t even deserve 1 star.We waited for 2.5 hours, were 14th. in line standing in a compacted corridor with little air conditioning.Those in front of the line were not getting the cars they ordered and had to make do with what they got.Cannot really blame the counter staff as all they do is hand out the cars that Budget supply but it could have been organised a lot better, we have computers now so there should be no problems.I will avoid Budget from now on as I cannot waste my holiday time waiting to get served.
Booked a reservation, prepaid, showed up on time. NO cars available. Man working there was very unapologetic and acted like it was my fault for booking with Budget and getting screwed over. Made me call the reservation hotline for customer service, which tried to tell me they couldnt do anything until I forced them to switch me to customer service eventually, where they still tried to do nothing to rectify the situation. Then they told me it was my responsibility to go to their competitors to locate a car last minute and they didnt want to pay for anything above what I had prepaid. So basically made me do the work and then give me nothing in return for their major mistakes. The biggest waste of time and energy.
Terrible experience! They gave us a car infested with little bugs that were crawling all over us (Chiggers) and the kids’ seat belts. And they said the tank was full but it was half full. The lady said take a picture. We found another location the next day to exchange the car and he said that it was still marked as full tank and that they haven’t changed it on location! Terrible service! And so much hassle caused on our vacation. If I could leave zero starts I would!
I went to return a vehicle during regular business hours and not one employee in sight!! Unbelievable!!!!
Very disappointing experience. We ordered 2 cars via phone and were promised 2 cars however when we arrived, no cars were yet available. This is not my poor rating because I understand cars do not always show up. The assistant manager, Kyle Saltzman, promised us he would call us back before closing to let us know the status of the car. The rental shop closed at 1pm and after not receiving a call until 12:30pm, we went to check in person the status of the rentals. Unfortunately, the shop was dark and nobody was there. Kyle Saltzman never called. I absolutely understand your phone service guaranteeing a car but inventory us short. However, the overall customer service was very upsetting and disappointing as half our day was ruined. Very unhappy customers. Hope this experience makes Budget change and helps consumers know they are not to trust their word.
Brutal return. One miserable lady working in a cubicle, everyone had to lineup outside. Very unfriendly, unhelpful, and annoying. Worst rent a car experience in 55 years.

Car and service provided by Budget are a disaster.• The tank was not full, only about 4/5 full.• The window cleaning water was empty. The man at the barrier was of no help, said we can buy this at any petrol station. Great service and information.• There was no remote control to open and close the car. The central locking system was broken in the first three days. When opening, the alarm went off every time, with every stop you had to open and close 4 doors by hand.• The third row of seats is loose in the car, not screwed / anchored. Had a huge shock on the first rough bump and all corners, not reliable.• The rear tire is defective and had to fill up with air every other day.• Car not clean, window had film and could not be cleaned without window cleaning water.We havent had such a bad car since 2000, Budget / Tampa is not recommended.
