I will start by saying that I have Executive Elite status with National Car Rental, as a business traveler I use them exclusively. Unfortunately this is one rental I am quite disappointed with. Reserved a full size SUV for family trip, two weeks in advance. Upon calling morning of pick up, was told no full size SUVs available. After informing agent of my status, they magically located a Nissan Armada. Nice vehicle, yes, but not this one!!! Asked the agent to accompany me to vehicle to review condition, he reluctantly agreed, stating all issues are noted on file. Then at the vehicle as we looked it over, and I pointed things out He says yeah, last renter drove it up a chain link fence. You get the picture here? I take the car with its issues including chipped front windshield, warnings on start up for oil and filter require changing and low washer fluid.Very, very disappointed here, will follow up with Corporate!
This car rental which rents Enterprise, National and Alamo has a highly corrupt Manager Z..k. I rented a car in Dec 2020 and he confirmed that it comes with unlimited mileage. I confirmed multiple times before picking the car. Nowhere in the contract was the mileage charge mentioned. But when I returned it I was told of $1700 mileage charge. Even after leaving message to the National customer service multiple times and to this location half a dozen times, he never called back. Every time I called to this location and talked to him and other people there, they all tried to fleece money and not agreeing to refund the illegal charges. Finally the area manager removed the charges and refunded my money but they gave me a very hard time. This manager is corrupt, dishonest and should be terminated, unless everyone in National is Corrupt. He gave me a week of sleepless night!The car Hyundai Kona they gave me was bad, the thread on front right tire was so bad that I was afraid throughout my travel.
I walked into a rental car. No one was wearing a mask. I approach the desk and spoke with Zack. He was very curt aunt not very personable. Definitely felt uncomfortable renting a car there. They advised me to go to Avis and Avid was a five star review! I definitely recommend renting from Avis!
Without question THE WORST location that National has. the selections are terrible customer service is non existent. They charged me triple the amount that the other location charged me that was only 5 miles away$1,837.49. OF COURSE they didnt tell me, but when I found out they told me the other location was closed. I rent EXCLUSIVLY from National and I have never seen such BS. The downtown Tampa location SHOULD be avoided at all costs!! The Tampa locations in general leave a lot to be desired but save the aggravation and a TON of money and just rent from the airport.
I would give 0 stars if I could.Called Tuesday morning. Spoke to a branch representative. Asked for 7 passenger vehicle.Was quoted $86 per day. Gave my first and last name. When wanting to provide my national membership number was told system is down. To enter all of it the morning I arrive for pickup. Asked for reservation number and was told can’t provide right away, because system down. To call back and confirm the number.Called just now and asked if everything is ok.Was told there is no reservation, no car. Was told I may get a 7 seater for $300-$400 per day!I am now going to have to scramble to find a 7 seater somewhere because we cannot afford $2,400 for a weeks rental car. Or maybe I just tell two of the kids coming they have to stay home now for our trip!Was very concerned on Tuesday when I was told there was no reservation number because system down but was glad to have found an option to take extended family with us. But I made the mistake of trusting somebody that they would in fact not lie to me.Beware of this location! I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I will now go find which of the kids we won’t be able to take!What a JOKE!
There is a reason why I only use national. Even when they make a mistake they take responsibility and they take care of you. Good job guys!
The lady at the counter did something wrong when she ran my CC and had to cancel itThen she re ran the card but the hold she put on the card the first time wont be released for 48 hrsSo now my card is over the limit and the lady at the counter acted like it was my faultI should of just went somewhere else!!!
