Great process up to the point of trying to leave. Not sure what the problem was, but with only one person checking cars out, it was 10 minutes sitting in line to get out. Counted 10 or more cars in line to go through the one lane. May be a problem getting employees, but with that exception, everything was great.

Only gave 2 stars because the staff at ramps airport accommodated me well. Went thru multiple car swaps to be in vehicles with problems every time. The Yukon I was in had a wobble that started @ 75mph and when I got in the car obviously someone knew because there was a limiter set to that speed(also broken sensors and empty fluids that we were notified about every time starting the car) After a week driving I was able to swap into a Tahoe that had a horrible alignment and pulled to the right aggressively. After driving 1000 miles in that vehicle I swapped once again into a vehicle (Ford Escape) and after getting on the wet road in the middle of my road trip I quickly find out that it has balding tires and does not feel safe to drive in the rain at all. Hertz car fleet is aged and not maintained correctly. I did about 4500 miles between these 3 vehicles and did not feel safe driving any of them.

My husband had to go to Florida for his dad funeral so when he got the car, he didnt have time to check the cat condition.After a couple days, he noticed that the tires were bad. Luckily there was no storm or heavy rain otherwise the car would totally slip.Also the car constantly needed to be jump start. Everytime he turned off the car and try to turn it on, it needed to be jump start.He couldnt complaint to hertz when he returned the car because they have a long line and not so many customer service.

Very difficult to pick up car bc getting to concierge was difficult but after finding it it was easy breezy! Definitely would recommend this location. And drop off was a breeze, however it’s been 2 days and I’m still waiting on charges to hit my credit card

Typical day at Hertz TPA. One exit lane open and awful customer service. No wonder the one competent manager,, Shu, quit this week.Thursday 4/29/21 from 830 to 905PM. Emplotees just walking around the parking lot pretending to be busy. Just add another 30 minutes or more to your travel plans. Defeats being Gold or above. Nice work Hertz TPA. Second pboto is line ofcars behind me. People cannot even pull out of any gold sections into the line. Tbis is a routine occurance here.-President Circle member

I get the joy of joining all the other non smokers here charged a 400 dollar smoking fee. Stay away!!! Also please contact me management. The phone to their location for one day has not gone through. Really disappointed in Hertz I’d come to trust them.Edit: Forgot to mention a Hertz employee vaping in the return line. Wonder where all this smoke in the rentals is coming from!

Horrible experience. Booked online for one price and when I went to pick up the car they wanted twice as much. Didnt take a debit card, even though we had a return flight. Stranded looking for other cars. Feeling very scammed. Wish they had mentioned that you needed more than you actually booked for. For someone who has never rented a car before I will never even think about using this company again!

Easy to get in and out. Bright, clean and spacious facility. Had a BMW 5 series that was a nice car but had a few service required messages. They pop up very obviously on engine start. They definitely should have been caught by Hertz personnel before rental. One of them was new brake pads needed. Seriously? The car only had 31K miles on it. How badly do renters treat these cars?I know I should have swapped the car out, but I was tired, first time out of the house in a year, and didnt want to deal with car rental administrative hell. I was only going to do some light local driving. Stayed off the highways,kept it mellow and lots of following distance.

I am very mad. When you rent a vehicle. Call in advance that the specific vehicle is there for you and then are given a lesser quality vehicle is completely bad business. Bait and switch!!! Oh it is sort of like what you wanted……But a Kia is not a Chevy Tahoe!!! And I returned the vehicle today before our flight. Filled the tank this morning and drove only to airport :30 away!!! And they are charging me $27 for returning the tank 7/8 full. Complete BS and this is totally a scam by Hertz. And I have no recourse because I didn’t save my gas receipt. When you drop off your car, no one looks at it. No one verified it when we were there. But a receipt showed up in our email 20 minutes later after we had already left the area. And they so graciously helped themselves to my credit card to put gas in. I will never use hertz again. Poor business practices.

Our family went to Clearwater, FL and our flight arrive a little later than expected. Other than having to stand in line just to pick out a type of Van. Everything else was easy in and out. Just walk to your car with the keys inside and pack your belongings. Drop off with hertz is always simple. Just park and leave the keys, take your stuff and off you go. Simple pick up and drop off. Car was clean as well as the rented car seats for the kids. Thank you Hertz.

Avoid at all costs. The car is terrible and roadside service doesn’t even exist. Been on hold for over an hour because our car died causing us to miss the pirate cruise for kids. There’s $161 non refundable we just lost due to hertz. Your better off getting an Uber or walking.

I’ve read some scary reviews for this Hertz so I was pretty nervous for what was in store for me when I got off the airplane for my trip. Thankfully I had a great experience. My plane landed, I followed the instructions to get to “the train” (aka sky connect) to get to Hertz. It was confusing at first but I went to the counter and spoke to two very nice Hertz representatives who told me to go down to the garage and find my car type zone and hop in. That’s exactly what we did. Easily 20+ cars to choose from in the car type I paid for. All different makes and models in the class I paid for. We literally jumped in a car and drove off. When we left the garage we checked in at a booth. They did run my credit card for the amount I agreed to pay and also an additional $200 HOLD (which I wasn’t really prepared for) so be ready for them to run your credit card for the amount of your car PLUS an extra $200. Then we drove away. The return was sooo easy. Follow the signs, leave the keys in the car, jump out and roll. I had a receipt emailed to me within an hour charging me for the original amount I agreed to. The only reason I didn’t give a five star is I did try to contact the Tampa Hertz directly a day or two before I left for vacation just to confirm everything and nobody ever answered (tried to call a few times). Other than that my entire Hertz experience was awesome!!! *Note* join Hertz’s Gold Plus member plan (it’s free), you won’t have to pay an additional driver fee.I paid for a Small Sedan and chose a cute Toyota Corolla!

I don’t normally leave negative reviews. This deserves it! We rented a car (7 passenger suv-Nissan Armada) for 7 days. We arrived in Tampa FL for a family vacation with my wife and 3 kids - 10, 7, and 7 months. I have spent a total of 4hours and 56 minutes trying to get a working vehicle and at the time of this review been on the phone waiting for “emergency roadside assistance” for more than an hour and 20 minutes. I have called back 3x, the first time was told that we would get a call back in 30-60 minutes from a manager. Never got one. The second time was disconnected during a transfer. And this is my 3rd and final attempt before I voice my opinion on my social media platforms as well. The first call was made at about 4:30pm, current time is 9:45pm.

This car rental claims that your rental is through them but actually it’s through thrifty, pack a lunch if you go to Tampa and end up in the thrifty car rental line. It is very long and very slow and only has one person working the desk. Amazingly poor service representation for Tampa’s airport . Tampa, get involved in these poor performers . Thrifty and hertz should allow you to go to both counters to get the cars out, I waited over 90 minute in line, poor customer service poor representation for Tampa !!

The lady at the counter by the pickup garage was the best, the guy at the rental exit garage was helpful with providing directions and the lady checking in my rental return has a smiley attitude! I havent seen this kind of excellence in quite some time. Thank you Tampa International Airport Hertz!

Without a shadow of a doubt the WORST experience Ive ever had traveling in my entire life. 2 hour wait to get to the desk. With a line literally wrapping around the terminal, they had ONE attendant working the rental desk. The only other employees there was a self described 57 year old with hot flashes that sat in a chair and used a hand fan to cool down. The best description I could even come up with for her role there would be the sole rental attendants hype man.

We have rented from Hertz at the Tampa Airport twice now, and have had an easy experience both time. This last time Jose helped us when we were in a pickle. Another car company overbooked rentals by -22 cars, and left us in the dark. I quickly ran to Hertz, during Sprig Break. I am so thankful for Jose helping us. We were in luck here, we were in and out quickly, he assisted us with an excellent Range Rover. We should have never tried to rent from another company to begin with. Jose was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. Thank you for the excellent service. Returning the car was also a piece of cake too. I have such a piece of mind doing business again with Hertz.

Do not rent from them if you do CAREFULLY LOOK AT CONTRACT FOR HIDDEN AND EXTRA FEES!!Also trying to contact the local desk at Tampa International Airport almost IMPOSSIBLE!. When you finally contact someone (not in Tampa) they are always foreign speaking and very difficult to understand. This is a great Hertz location. You have to take a short tram from the main airport terminal but it’s not too long and the view from the tram is nice. The staff were very friendly. The garage was laid out very nicely. You can grab your car and go. I prefer to pick my car over being assigned one.

Man, I was in and out quick.. both checking in to get a car and dropping it off when I was done upon my return.This whole car rental portion of the airport was the best I have ever seen all over the world. It was simply incredible. You take a free short train shuttle ride from the airport over there.It is the cleanest, brightest, and roomiest car rental area I have ever seen!!!

Socially distant renting is more efficient. No counter, no touching. Just go to the garage and pick your car. Good luck finding one that doesnt smell like smoke. My biggest ding on this experience was the rental rates. They are extremely high. High enough to cancel putt the benefits of that $37flight. Shame on you rental companies.

In a word: DISGUSTING. My family and I came in on an 11:00 pm flight. It was dark. We chose a Dodge Durango. The following morning, in the light of day, we realized that the vehicle had not been cleaned AT ALL. There was a used bandage (with BLOOD on it) and an old eyelash in the cup holder, dried liquids everywhere. I plan to file a formal grievance with the health department. This is not only gross: it’s a health hazard.

Quick and easy. We got a car last minute. Their service was first class. We booked with Thrifty and it was a 2 hour wait at Atlanta airport. Also, there was no guarantee we were going to get the car we booked. We went stairs and got a car right away from Hertz!Thank you

Absolutely terrible terrible service I received. Here for vacation and had to switch out my car 3 different times because the car had malfunctions. We called roadside assistance and they got us back to the airport where we were supposed to get a new car but they never gave us a case number and now we are sitting here not being helped because it’s on our end, being that we paid so much money for a simple request of being able to drive safely on vacation and had to inconvenienced so many times is beyond upsetting and it’s just so frustrating. Will never rent from hertz again and I wish I would have just got Uber’s honestly will never be coming back again DO NOT rent from here at all.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I don’t typically write reviews but this deserves one. I spoke to 4 representatives and received different information. I was looking to book a reservation from the airport, I’m flying in for the weekend. Rentals is expensive and granted I waited to the last minute. But all I wanted to know is if I could pay with a debit card and pay the deposit with my credit card because to pay it al on my debit card would be 500$ deposit plus the 250$ For the rental. I asked the first young lady to speak to a manager and she kept me on hold for 30 minutes to come back and say none is available then hung up on me. The second young lady I spoke to when I called back preceded to scream at me and tell me the reason I keep having to speak to multiple people is because im not telling her my question(which I told her was in regard to payment) so after going back and forth about my request to speak to a manager she cuts me off and puts me on hold. While im on hold for 45+ minutes she would come back to the phone not say nothing(checking to see if I was still waiting) and when I would go to say something she but hurry and put it back on hold. She eventually came back to the phone to tell me all the manager can’t speak they are all busy(not even a wait time or anything). After that call I called one more time to see if I can reach a manager and this young lady also just gave me excuses of why I can’t speak to a manager. I never been on the phone with any customer service representatives that was so nasty and made it so hard to reach a manager and a potential customer it trying to basically give you their money

What an absolute nightmare. 2.5 hours to get a car even with a reservation. No line instructions hundreds of people standing not knowing what to do. Do better! Some customer just bought lots of water bottles for all the elderly in line. Perhaps Hertz shouldve thought of this. 😔 Lady working the line was hollering at people to not be frustrated at them,, that they had enough cars, just not enough spaces, however they were sanitizing and washing cars as they pulled them up. Our car was wet inside and out.

These people are useless extremely un professional left me stranded on the side of the road with one of there vehicles that broke down for almost 10 hours then had me come to there location twice to pick up a replacement vehicle “I had to take a Lyft twice” out of my own pocket. Never gave me a replacement because there roadside assistance never got to the vehicle. They couldn’t give me a replacement until they had the old one. I will never use hertz services ever again truly disappointed in there lack of professionalism and there common disregard for there customers. Hertz = rolling trash cans

I loved this whole experience. Tampa International Airport is a big factor there with the efficient layout, but Hertz really delivered. Short wait for the counter, very professional and courteous staff, short paperwork process, and you get all the time you want to go pick a car, and the selection is pretty good. I got a black Chevy Malibu and check out the average fuel economy I was getting while driving to Atlanta in the picture. Its hard to see, but its over 50! Gotta drive a little slower to get that, but it shows how well Hertz maintains their cars. It was super clean. Returning the car was very easy as well. Thank you for making what can normally be a stressful experience anything but that.

This rental place is inefficient. We rented the car online and the check-in process was fine. However, while trying to get the car we had to wait about 10-15 minutes in a line outside. I was informed that they are basically waiting for cars to get dropped off and brought up to the parking lot. Once we got the car we had wait ANOTHER 30 MINUTES in the car line to exit the parking lot. Hertz has 4 check out stations but only 2 were open. I give this location 1 star for its INEFFICIENCY, LACK OF PLANNING AND PREPARATION, AND FOR WASTING MY TIME.

Horrible experience. Broken bumper was previously broken and jammed back into place. Within minutes the bumper was hanging off the side of the car on the highway. Customer service was nearly impossible to get ahold of. Once we finally got through they were unwilling to have someone come swap the car out and said we have to drive to the nearest Hertz 10 miles away with our bumper hanging off flapping in the wind. Representatives were rude and not helpful. Exchange car had half a tank of gas. Representatives unable to answer questions on whether or not we would be charged for gas or for the bumper damage since it wasn’t discovered before us. Will never get a rental through here again.

Our flight didn’t get in until 11:00. They had 1 person working and about 15 people in line in front of us. It took at least an hour. Once we got to the desk we found out they were out of cars! So we got a pick up truck. After we got the car in the garage it was another 30-40 minutes in line there to wait for someone to “check” the car. It was a horrible experience after a very long day of traveling. Do not recommend!

Used hertz many times before as a gold member at other airports. This is the worst experience. I have a late flight. Not able to get a rental car because they close before our flight lands. We arnt the only people that can possibly land with a late flight. Now have to cancel everything and will now consider other companies in further travel.

We landed 2 hours late and despite the short hours, Andrew Moran was waited for our arrival. He went way above and beyond to ensure we got situated and our car was perfect. This person is the type of employee that every great company should have on their team. We are so completely happy with our selection at Hertz and even more impressed and happy with the extreme level of care demonstrated by the branch manager Andrew. Hertz uses a service called platepass that cost customer approximately 9× the amount of toll charges. My toll charges were 1.66, but Hertz sent me a bill for 13.58. Where is the convenience in this service!!??

Worst rental car experience. I will never rent from them again. They failed to honor our reservation and we were without a car of our entire trip. I had prepaid for the reservation and still have not been refunded. The staff came out to say they had no cars left and then went back to the back room. I called the next day and they wouldnt answer their phones. I called the national number and was informed they had no cars and would issue me a refund.

5/1/21 craziest long wait Ive ever seen. Waiting over 50 minutes in first line after having reservation then sent downstairs to parking garage to wait in a line that appeared to be about 2 hours long. Shout out to the only girl.working the parking garage line who got us out early with a SUV. Kudos to her for not quitting as Hertz is a terrible place to work for or do business with.

A model of modern (IN)efficiency!Apparently Hertz owns Thrifty and Dollar and rather than staff those counters, funnels all comers into the Hertz counter.Rather than maintain staff to handle the customer volume, Hertz has brilliantly opted to put a larger queue in place instead.12 customers in line in front of me, at least six behind at 15 to 20 minutes each... yeah, were all enjoying this start to a trip!

Stopped in late last night for a Car Rental from Thrifty which Hertz handles. I am going to tell you I was super impressed with the team that helped up. People of course are impatient by nature and especially at 11:30 at night. The gal, Sandra if I recall correctly and Mr. Red Hair :) were very accommodating. An hour wait at Tampa airport. Beware. They had everyone around waiting for car rentals all shuffled and waiting in line at Hertz. I bet they had over 80 people in line when we finally got through. Was told to go down to level 2, the gold booth. Guess what? Greeted with another 15-20 min line. Finally make it inside and she looked at the paper and said to pick any car out in the 5 star lot. 2. TWO. ONLY 2 people staffed on a Saturday evening. Mind boggling! Learned my lesson.

The worst experience ever Ive had with Hertz, showed up for my car reservation to find there are no cars for Gold members. Had to wait in line for 30min, for Gold service. As a Gold member I would expect to receive the services on my profile.Upon the completion of my rental I received my receipt electronicly to find that an additional charge was added that I did not request. Contacted Hertz Customer service and was told, I see on your profile that this is not an option that you select, but in this case because of yiur signature on yiur gold orofile you have to pay for ut even thou you didnt request it.Not sure if customer satisfaction is at the firefrint for hertz, especially with gold members. Thus exoerience has left a very bad taste for me to look at rent8ng with hertz in the future for any of my travels!

Even with COVID going on and everyone flying down to Florida for the holidays, the staff was very helpful and didn’t let their frustrations show. READ NOT MY REVIEW BUT ALL THE OTHERS IT WILL PAINT A CLEAR PICTURE. They manage Dollar and Thrifty and the service is terrible. Was over charged and it has taken over 24hrs to get no where. Pay the slight higher price for Enterprise as the time and headache it will save you is well worth it. Or just rent outside of Tampa if you can. Will be flying into SRQ or ORL in the future. UPDATE: Trying to get a manager was told have to go in person which is a 2hr drive. Looked online and saw a Hertz rep state you can reach out to us on social media. What a joke. Again what a waste do not bother with them. Donna is a joke you will see why if you read here responses.

What a nightmare! Booked the car for 11:30pm arrival. We could see our name listed for Hertz but no one at the counters or anywhere around the cars. No answer when we called. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!They don’t even know how to take care of their customers! We booked our reservation with a price and came in to pick up the car and the price was totally different. The lady “Maria” has an nasty attitude. She acts like she’s nice but she’s faking everything. If you don’t love what you do then quit your job. The other African-American lady with glasses was so rude and unprofessional and very loud. I felt like she was yelling. Also, the person in the pic was so unprofessional. We flew from a different state. Missed our event that we came in for. Very unsatisfied.

If I could give it no stars I would. I got a letter from a Collections agency saying I owed $300 after I already paid Hertz. Now its taken over 2 weeks to get ahold of anyone after numerous phone calls and emails. I am still on hold now to speak to an investigator for >40 minutes.

Horrific experience with Hertz for the second time. My husband rented through dollar not realizing that it was through hertz because we have nothing but terrible experiences with hertz. The truck we got smelled absolutely horrific when we got in it the next morning. You could tell no one had actually cleaned the inside of the vehicle either. When we called to see if we could switch vehicles they said they couldn’t help us. Now here returning the truck and asked to speak to a manager and have been waiting over a half hour to be seen. The woman at the front desk has been extremely rude and not helpful at all. The woman we handed the keys to was the exact same way. Safe yourself the hassle and DO NOT rent from them!

I got there after we landed and they were closed and on my voucher it said 24 hours so I canceled my rental. Im not going to be stuck for 6 hours for them to open. Worst experience ever. If I dont get my refund I will escalate it.

Rental on April 15th, Tampa International, 2nd Floor Gold office, 6:30 p.m.Letter to Hertz:My wife and I had such a horrible experience recently at Tampa International, that I’ve decided to go beyond your survey and try to capture what actually happened on our recent trip to Florida. For reference, my confirmation number was J69201488C0.Prior to disembarking from our flight in Tampa, I received the following email from Hertz:Upon arrival at Hertz, go directly to the Gold zone, where you can choose any vehicle in that zone and go!Since this is your first time using Gold service, please be prepared to show your drivers license and a credit card at the exit gate to complete the activation of your Gold Plus Rewards account.We did exactly that. But upon arrival at the Gold Zone, there were absolutely no cars on the floor. So we went to the Gold office on the second floor, adjacent to the rental cars and I asked where to find the cars promised in my Hertz email. The woman behind the counter (dark hair, young) said, “There are no cars in Gold. Try the Five Stars area. (or something similar). So we followed her direction, found a car and got in line for the exit gate. When we finally arrived at the gate, your Hertz employee took FOREVER to laboriously type in each letter on his screen. It was painful to watch. He tried three different credit cards and failed to get one to work. (Footnote: all three cards worked subsequently during our trip. He lost one of them during the frustrating process). After more than twenty minutes of trying, he simply said “I can’t process your paperwork. You’ll need to go back to the office.” This was definitely not what you want to hear after a full day of traveling and rushing to meet family.Back at the Gold office, we met a second employee. She was in her twenties, caucasian, dirty blonde, plump build, small braid on the side of her hair. Her co-worker was a black gentleman in his forties. It was now almost 7:00 p.m. I told her right away, “you have one very upset customer here. We’ve been in line almost a half hour and were subjected to an employee who clearly had no idea what he was doing.” Instead of treating us with respect or using even the most rudimentary customer service skills, she snapped back, “Well, what do you expect? He doesn’t normally do that job. I pointed out that that wasn’t our problem, it was hers. She then said, “Well, if you don’t like working with us, you can find another rental company.” At this point, my wife had been pushed over the edge and said, “Just do your %^$# job!” This employee then told us “I’m not going to work with you, and her co-worker threatened, “leave now or I will call security.” Even though my wife subsequently apologized, your employee refused to accept it.We then tried a number of other rental agencies and were told at each, “We’re completely out of cars.” Fortunately we tried Hertz again on the 4th floor and a kind female employee took care of us immediately. I asked if it might be possible to bypass the office on the 2nd floor. She said, “yes, but you’ll need to purchase an upgrade to do that.” We gladly paid. At that point, we would have done anything to avoid your nasty employee in the Gold office.This was a horrible, frustrating experience and certainly not what we’d expect from a top-tier rental company like Hertz. It was an egregious experience that we can laugh about now. If you’d like more detail about the specific employee, we’d be glad to cooperate. I’d suggest reviewing a number of changes, from emails sent to customers, to customer service training. Clearly, the latter was totally missing during our trip.Jeremy & Emily

August 27th 2020 between the hours of 1:00pm -3:15pm I got to witness a hertz employee be rude to numerous customers . The only people she was rude to were BLACK OR OF COLOR . You could tell she spoke another language other than English . We had a couple of issues renting had to end up sitting on the side where the seats where To make a few calls . As we are sitting waiting I hear a lady getting loud with the employee so we listened in and the employee was acting as if she was not concerned about what was going on with the customer she had in front of her . She was quick to get the next guest before even making sure the guest in front of her was taken care of . About 10 min went by a couple had to go to the side and make some calls they were dealing with the same rude employee so we watched her interaction . When the couple came up asking questions she acted clueless and they had to repeat several times they were looking for the rates she gave them a rate she was being rude once again and can tell they were agitated after leaving from the front because she gave them such a hard time she definitely did not care . When the couple went back to the front to finally pay she said a totally different rate she first told them Even after them not being gone for more than 7 min . I don’t fully know the situation but sitting here waiting HOURS and going through the trouble just to rent through a company with rude employees is not okay . There was a point where it was only her back there and we had questions we waited until someone else came back because we didn’t want to encounter her rudeness . She was the only one without a name tag so couldn’t even see her name. One of the other employees said her name think it’s Mariam or meoriam . She was a older lady and she wore her hair in a ponytail she had on a white and blue or black blouse with grey slacks and black heels . I’m not sure if she worked for hertz, thrifty, or dollar but they all where pushed together so I’m not sure which company but it was at the hertz terminal .

They now dont let you use debit cards got a car rental we had reservation already and they didnt agive us a minivan nor refunded us had to waitwith a family of 7 in the airport and the other rental place we went to gave us the truck no problen and with a debit card national go there no wait and morgan the lady that took care of us did an amazing job tha k you Morgan

I recently took an unexpected trip to Tampa for a funeral and once I arrived on 4/5 the nightmare began. I reserved a Suburban in order to transport my family to & from the services and was shocked to find that the vehicle was completely trashed inside. It’s as if they returned it, gassed it up and through it back in the lineup to go out again. No sanitization, vacuuming or dusting done to it. Completely unacceptable. Once I brought it up to the rep in the office she was quick to apologize and waived the gas for my return which was cool and even sent for another truck for me. She reached out to Victor who was in charge of the vehicles that day and had him bring up another one. Unfortunately that one was worse than the first. She attempted to clean it up with some napkins and hand sanitizer but to no avail. I was taken back by the experience so asked for a manager. Once she was on the phone the manager, Jessica or something with a J asked to speak to me. I asked that she come down to speak to me so that she can see for herself the condition of the vehicle but she was hesitant. She told me that because I was a prepay customer there was nothing the much they can do for me and that I was lucky they would wave the refill. When she finally came down she ended up taking the truck back to clean it herself but never returned. I ended up taking a different vehicle all together and was still charged for the gas upon turning the car in. I’ve been reaching out to the 1800 number since I returned and they keep giving me the runaround. If I ever speak to someone they say they can’t help me cause there’s no notes stating the gas fees were waived. They tell me they can get ahold of the TPA location to verify what I am saying which I find hard to believe. I even sent an email to corporate on 4/9 that I have yet to receive a response to. Now I’m stuck having to pay $230+ in charges that were to be waived. Unnecessary and unacceptable considering the experience and lack of concern for safety and COVID protocol. I need to speak to someone immediately. This shouldn’t happen to anyone and this is my first and last rental with this company.

Nothing but issues with this airport. No cars with under 35,000 miles. Will not swap out hazardous vehicles from different locations because they will “lose the vehicle”. Was told this by a manager. Second time I have dealt with it. With the climate we are in I would prefer not to be pulled over on the side of I75 but Florida state troopers due to expired licenses plates but hey, I would also hate for them to lose a car to a different location. The manager was of absolutely no assistance. Made a complaint to corporate about the previous experience months ago with no reply still. Save your time and rent from somewhere else if you can. You’ll thank me later.

What happened to Hertz ?? I waited 1-1/2 hours in line to get my rental car. Contacted customer service 2 weeks ago and have yet to receive a reply. They used to be the top dog for service but certainly not any more. Guess it’s time to make a transition to Enterprise.

Today Feb 3, 2021 at 7:30pm Joe the LIAR has a bad attitude and pretends to be a manager in the evening with No professionalism. He stated Hertz charges double for a Thrifty car rental reservation pick up and he could not check me in tonight. I may appear young but I have rented cars for decades from Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty. I did not call him out on his lie because he was in a rush for his lunch break. I can understand.After a 40 min wait in the Dollar/Thrifty Line. To my surprise Joe screams that the Dollar/Thrifty counter is closing and the line should move to the Hertz counter which caused major confusion regarding line placement. Huh, Joe I thought Hertz could not check in Dollar/Thrifty customers even though Hertz owns the two. After waiting another 20 mins. Hertz customers were separated from the Dollar/Thrifty line. Joe checked in everyone in front of me but when it was my turn he called the Hertz customer that was there for 5 mins at that point I was waiting for an hour. Joe have the courtesy to know that you saw me before your lunch and after your lunch which means I have been waiting after the lie you told. If you want to play manager and work in customer service fix your bad attitude, find another profession because you clearly dislike what you are doing!

Worst company ever. The Hertz here manages Dollar and Thrifty and treat the Dollar and Thrifty costumers terribly, the rest of the reviews back this up. The manager here refused to make an exchange from the dirty vehicle we were given at a different location to a clean vehicle because they have issues with that location and then she proceeded to walk away from us and said she wasnt going to change her mind when we asked her what we should do. How personal issues with another location became my problem I have no idea but thats the kind of professionalism you can expect from this company. When we called Hertz costumer service best solution (literally thats what I was told) was that we pay to get the car cleaned and then we could get reimbursed later. After 2 hours on the phone and 12 phone calls later Dollar costumer service we were told that we had to go to Sarasota Airport 2 hours away to get a CLEAN VEHICLE! Your time is more valuable spend the extra $200 at Enterprise.

Pre pay gas is a rip off.....We were asked if we would like to get the gas ahead of time at $2.59 per gallon making it sound like we would only be charged for the balance once they filled the tank. When we dropped the car off we had over 3/4 tank of gas so it would have only taken $10 or less to top it off. We were charged $38 dollars as if the tank was empty. This was the first and last time I will participate in pre pay for gad as it was clearly a RIP off.In my opinion they should have sold me with would you like to pay $38 dollars for gas when you drop it off? It will not matter what the gage says as we will charge you $38 dollars no matter how much gas is left in the car?Very disappointed in this service as they are allowed cheat people out of money.Never agree to pre pay for gas......Hertz I would be happy to remove this post if you refund me $28 dollars.

This was my first time technically renting a car on my own. Im 23 and originally we had a car picked out. We ended up having issues with putting it on the original payment card (on our end) and made it very complicated. Our associate, Leo, was phenomenal! He was very patient with us during our little hiccup and offered the best deal and guided us through another process that made things a lot easier.Long story short, we ended up upgrading our original ride, a Nissan Pathfinder, to a beautiful, brand-new Chevy Camaro SS (the car I originally wanted). Needless to say that car lived up to its hype and experience. I had zero issues with anything during our trip and upon returning our vehicle, the process was super easy. The only downside I can point out is that the car had some spare parts or covers in the trunk that took up a lot of space and made it difficult to throw our luggage in (not there is much room to begin with anyways).Overall, had a great experience - despite having our personal issues in the beginning - Leo was the true MVP during this time and definitely made my experience enjoyable!

Tampa Airport - AnnoyancesBooked through Expedia. $13/day up charge at the airport to add a 2nd driver. Instructions to locate car in the dispatch garage were confusing and no help available in the garage. Car is high mileage older model. Long queue (understaffed) to exit the garage through the contract verification gate. Avoid.

With prior reservations had to wait in line for a 1/2 hour to check in. Came down to the lot after being processed to another line of approximately 150 people wrapped around in circles in the parking garage. Would highly avoid using this rental company unless you have several hours after landing to obtain your rental.

This vehicle had every service engine light on… heck engine light, oil light, tire pressure light…this company obviously neglects the maintenance of their vehicles and puts their customers in harms way. Then when you ask for a replacement they have the audacity to try to charge you.Mine you I’m renting a Q50 Infiniti
