My father-in-laws friend referred me to Nick earlier this week for work on my 2008 BMW x5. We dropped my car off on Tuesday and I picked it up two days later. They fixed my heating and AC issue by replacing the blow motor resistor for the fan and worked on the brakes. I was so satisfied with the price and professionalism and I have now finally found my go-to mechanic! I highly recommend Nick and his business!

I went in for the same day service. THE BEST customer service I could have ever asked for. I just showed up on their step and Nick immediately took in my Cayenne for service in the light. I come back delighted I could get it the same day and at the incredibly reasonable price, and try to leave a modest tip - Nick refuses. That is the type of customer service I’m talking about!Oh, and he fixed an additional light out in my license plate after calling to let me know - no extra charge or hassle. 14/10 would recommend.

Had an Audi a4 i would go to them for a basic oil change. Last time I had service done by them was the last as I suspected they would drive my car around. I had a tiny GPS hidden inside. Turns out my car was driven around Somerville/Cambridge - for what who knows. I asked him why it took all day for an oil change and he claimed were busy!. So I had doubts anything was done - took my car to another shop to make sure the oil change was done and it wasnt. The oil in engine was dirty. This guy Nick will smile in your face make you feel.like you can trust him and hell scam you tell you your car needs a major repair when its basically something simple. Im good with doing business with this guy.

Nick is the best. Ive been bringing my cars to him for over 16 years. He is honest, which is a big deal when looking for a mechanic. He also lets you know about other issues your car has or may have in the future when you pick it up. He and his crew are very passionate about their jobs and it shows in their work.

Not long ago, the vacuum pump on my fiancée and Is car began leaking oil. We took it to our local dealer and balked at the price we were quoted. After searching for other local garages, we were recommended Nick by another local mechanic. We really, really lucked out!Nick is honest, friendly, and beyond competent: I called and explained what was wrong with the car, and over the phone he gave us a rough estimate that was two-thirds cheaper than what the dealer wanted to charge. I brought it in on a Friday morning, and despite there being other cars left to attend to, Nick and his crew turned ours around by the end of the day — while honoring the initial estimate he gave.He explained what he did; showed me his work under the hood; and offered to print off the diagnostic codes his mechanics detected that correlated to a check engine light that was also active, and that I forgot to mention — just in case it ever tripped again.Right now, our car runs smooth. But if anything else ever happens, I know who Ill be bringing it to!

I have been going to Nick for years. Hes always been upfront with me about what hes doing and have saved me from expensive repairs that I thought I needed. He has a very straightforward communication style, which may come across as gruff, but he cares about his customers. I highly recommend him!

Twice I have had an unpleasant experience with Nick. From my experience, Nick has an ingenious unscrupulous trick of squeezing more money from a client. When he was on Prospect Street, Cambridge, he gave me a flat rate quote to replace the belts and fuel/oil pipes. I made it clear to him that he should call me for anything beyond the agreed charge because I was working on a tight budget. Hours later, I got a call from him that the job was done. When I got to the garage, he presented me with a bill almost twice as much and said he had to buy more parts (totally unrelated to the agreed job). Failing to pay would have meant detaining the car. I paid with no qualms. That was in 2015. Four years later, a few days ago, my sunroof opened and got stuck on a rainy day. I drove to a body repair garage and they referred me to 64 Webster Ave., Sommerville. I thought the owner of the shop looked familiar. Remember it had been four years since my last encounter with him. He pulled the same trick on me. He told me to repair the roof would cost between 100 and 150 dollars. We settled for $100.00. I left the car. Walking back home, I remembered him and worried he might inflate the bill. He did! Hours later he called and said the job was hard; that we would need three hours to complete. I ended up paying $300! I am considering reporting him to BBB and Consumer Protective Agency.

Ive taken my BMW 3 series to Nick for the past 5 years, he has handled almost every service, with the exception of 2 emergency services needed while traveling, which were done at two separate BMW dealers. Ive been extremely pleased with the services performed and very fair pricing.Ive worked in dealers as service manager and director for 14 years, and have an understanding of my cars mechanicals. Nick and his employees have all been great at keeping me informed, and saving parts to show me what was replaced. A challenge for every service provider is to help a customer understand whats being done, and that, while working on a job, other issues can reveal themselves meaning a greater expense than originally estimated. I ran my shops honestly, yet there are customers out there who were unable or unwilling to understand how repairs can blossom into more extensive/expensive jobs.Id recommend Nick and his shop to friends and family. In fact, he helped my visiting family members who were in a bind by repairing their car and having them back on the road same day, despite his busy book of appointments. All in all, Nick runs a great shop and hires conscientious employees, all of which have been great to work with.

It is truly with regret that we are writing this review. Nick is personable, highly likable and always appeared to be helpful and interested in taking care of us.We had been using Nick extensively for the care of our Mercedes 560sl and were essentially happy with his work. He did front end work and brake work - expensive but decent. In 2016 he did a nearly $8000 valve job for us, after which bafflingly, our car would exhibit a violent jerk each time, shortly after starting from a full stop. Back to Nick with the car. Diagnosis? A failed differential. Some $1500 later were rolling again -- with the jerk still occurring as before. Nick told us our next act of recourse would be a transmission rebuild, something we werent eager to do given what wed spent to date at Nicks shop. So we drove our car with the disruptive jerk for two years, waiting for the failure of the transmission that would force us to do the transmission job.Last year we left Cambridge and moved to the Cape an found a shop here with European car experience. Their diagnosis? A vacuum hose leak, which was fixed for under $100. Result, smooth, predictable starts, the way youd expect from a classic Mercedes. Not the slightest hint of any disruptive behavior. This shook our faith in Nick. Is it credible that an experienced Mercedes mechanic would so utterly fail to consider the simple obvious stuff before he replaced the differential and then prescribed a $7500 transmission rebuild? Or, even worse, did he know and want to do that costly rebuild as a revenue builder for himself? Either way, the implications were disturbing to us and were sufficient to damage fifteen years of built-up trust and faith in Nick.As previously stated, we regret writing this, but having thought about the matter, we felt that disclosure to other consumers was the correct thing to do.
