This is an overdue review. I got my car last year right before the pandemic hit. I traded in my Mazda for a Subaru. John and everyone working with him were extremely nice and were very patient with me. My car is wonderful, I have had it for a year and havent had any problems with it! When I test drove it I heard a rattle, and they fixed it immediately and put in a new battery for me. I am very happy with my experience and love my new car!!!

I got my car from John’s auto sales about a month ago. ever since I saw it on the website I fell in love. My 2014 Hyundai Elantra is a beauty. runs great and has been a major upgrade from my former car. I am in love with this car. Rocco is the best he was very helpful with everything. Friendly and eager to please. One problem i put a deposit on a car on 8/10/21, then decided it wasnt right for me, asked for my deposit back, John called said it was being return.it is now 9/13/21 NO RETURNED DEPOSIT VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Sold my car here. The process was super easy and super straightforward. I like talking to the staff and theyre all very professional. They respect the cars and know the true value of them. They even offered an Uber trip to send me home. Its so delighted to talk with them. I would definitely come again in the future if needed.

I will start by saying that the car I was sold overall was decent. I will at least give credit to this dealer for having good customer service at first. I came in with a decent trade in and some money and left out with a decent vehicle fairly quickly. Nothing mechanically wrong, good tires, no issues with my alt, engine, transmission, brakes, etc. However.... once things started to appear on my dashboard the day that I drove off the lot and I made Malcomn and another sales rep aware I received no type of care or response. Before I drove away I had mentioned to the sales rep that the third row handle was broken, he used pliers to put the seat down. I havent been able to put the seat back up since because it is broken. Within a few days of driving my car I had lights on my dash, driver seat that did not heat, and a TECH PACKAGE that did not work. I brought this to the attention of the dealership and it was explained by Malcomn that you purchased a USED car, what do you expect, everything to be perfect? The airbag sensor came on maybe a week into driving the car which prevented me from getting a sticker. When I brought the car back the mechanics took over 2 hours to take apart my seat and then they reset the light which came back on minutes after leaving the dealership. A day later I had my mechanic look at it and he discovered that they had cut the airbag sensor wires completely and I still to this day have no resolution to this airbag sensor problem. I was told I had to purchase my own drivers seat because it was my problem that the seat heater didnt work. My mechanic found a crack in the oil pan which I sent a video and it was never acknowledged. After ALL of this I still referred a friend who was in need of a vehicle there to purchase a car and she made out nice, never got a thank you, $200 referral, nothing. Rocco is a sweetheart and probably is the only reason I am in the car that Im in. He will work with you and help you get whatever it is that you want. I just wished that I didnt now have to go to Acura and spend over $6,000 to have this tech package fixed. Hopefully they let the next purchasers know about what is and isnt wrong beforehand.

My mother got my first car here when I was sixteen, ever since we’ve been referring people in our family to buy their cars at John’s! I’m 23 now, and I just purchased my first car, my DREAM car actually a 2014 Black Jeep Patriot, she runs perfect and they detailed my car. I’m picking it up today and I can’t describe how excited I am to pick up my car. I’m definitely going to be a loyal customer and continue coming here, as well as referring friends and family to buy cars at John’s!

Had us drive from ct 2+ hours for a truck that was less than ready for purchase. When offered cash under sticker price for as is vehicle (needed 4 new tires, some body work and rotors) they wouldnt come down even enough to cover cost of 4 new tires not to mention other repairs. Staff seemed very friendly on the phone but obviously was just a ploy to get us down there. Not as friendly in person. I understand its a business and they have to make money but lying about condition and readiness of vehicle is not a good business model. Sadly we left empty handed and down a full tank of gas and a wasted day. Im sure someone will pay 13500 for that Benz as is but its not gonna be us. Started the day super excited to buy this car from a small family owned business only to end the day with a bad taste in our mouth. Looks like its back to the big car dealerships.

He’s terrific with communication, and reliable with timely followup and follow-through. I still can’t believe how convenient and efficient--just painless--he made the whole process. He was kind enough to tow in my car for an appraisal--something I’m really grateful for--then offered me what I felt was a fair price, given my own research and the condition of my car. The whole experience surpassed my expectations, and I’m more than happy to recommend John’s Auto Sales if you’re looking to sell or are in the market for a car from a fair, reliable dealer.

Terrible place. Do not buy your car from here. Not only did they sell me a faulty car, they’re liars and act like the problems I said about my car happened after the fact I purchased it (of course they would). They sold me a used car that already had transmission issues, and on top of that the breaks were old and they blamed it on me. This place is unreliable.

Great Place to Buy a New Car

DO NOT GO THERE PLEASE!I went to look and test drive a car. He later went for half hour to some garage to get it and when he exited the car he slammed the door. They dont care about the customer so unprofessional. Its sad the car was so messed up from burnt headlights to lights on the dashboard. They say its serviced when the 2016 cant even run right. There are some dealerships near by way better then these scammers they arent good for anything. When u buy a car u deserve a great running car not a piece of trash from 2016 that u have to put more money into.

So far so good!!! My buying experience almost a week ago with Johns auto has been great so far. They helped me get approved for a reliable vehicle and were quick and effective. A friend of mine had a really bad experience with them in the past but the previous reviews online have been pretty good. My hopes are that i will be able to side with the awesome reviews online in the long run instead of the bad experience that my friend had with them in the passed. As I said before, so far so good and I will keep you all updated.

I was directed from KBB for the sale of my car. One of the worst experiences I ever have in selling a car. I started to get text messages about appraising the car. They said that John may give me a better offer than KKB. After a month of getting text messages I decided to give it a try and book an appointment.Once I got there and called the sale office a salesman came out and asked me what year the car was. He didnt introduce himself or even say Hi. He asked how much I wanted for my minivan. I told him my price for a private sale since the car is in mint condition. He open the door and took a photo of the vin number and walked away. He came back and said I am not interested I was shocked since they were texting me every week to come for an appraisal. I asked why and he walked away with no explanation whatsoever, except he mumbled something negative about KBB.They totally wasted my time and treat me like I wasnt a person. I tested the nice lady who was in communication with me and she told his name was Rocco and that I should contact John directly. She is the only reason I gave 2 star.KBB, dont direct people here.Stay away from John autosales.I went to CarMax same day and they treat me like a person and gave me a decent offer.

I Researched trucks for about a month. Learning Makes, Models, Prices, Options, Recalls, etc. When I say Researched, I mean everthing.I found a 2019 with 8k miles at Johns for $36,995. John offered a Free Carfax. Only dealers whom are Not trying to hide something give a Free Carfax. I called and set up a Test drive. He sent one his assistants to my place of work with the the truck. I watched Fernando (assistant) wipe down the steering wheel, handles, buttons and knobs with disinfectant before I got in. They were absolute about safely. I drove it around feeling how it idles and up the highway checking handling at high and low speeds. Everthing was great. I then called John and negotiated a price. I say negotiated but it wasnt. There was No Haggle, No Hassle. He even took my trade. The next day Fernando delivered My new truck to my job and drove off with the old. They took care of Registration, Title,Transfer, etc. They even filled half my tank. After everything original price $3,6995, Total price $3,7600. Your not going get a much better deal. Original price New from the Original dealership $45K. When I said Researched I meant everything.

My husband called these guys to make an appointment for a specific car. We live an hour and a half away. They told him no appointment needed, but come on Monday for this specific car. We arrived on a raw rainy day a bit after opening hours, and no sales staff was there so we had to wait in the weather for them to arrive. When they got there, we were informed the car was sold. No offer to pay for our gas money or anything just a shrug and that sucks dont travel to this place!!

I have been driving and handling cars for over 20 years and John’s Auto Sale has the best service from any car dealership I’ve ever been to. Everyone from John to his son and even the receptionists are always extremely courteous and will help you get the car you’ve always wanted. Just this week we came in expecting to wait hours for a tire replacement but it took them less than half an hour. If you’re tired of getting ripped off and want a dealership that treats you like family then look no further.

Sold me a car that has so much wrong with it, its not even funny. Never should of been sold to me like this.Problems include fuel injector, no heat, broken electrical, leaking tires, front breaks replacement, passenger side mirror falling off.

What a joke of a place absolute trash!

Just had a very good experience at this place. Havent taken delivery yet, but I found everyone from the salesperson Anthony, to the sales manager Joey, to the finance manager Mark, and the owner John to all be friendly, easy to deal with, and straight shooters. Had other cars on my list that I didnt even look at yet, but this car was the right one and I didnt see a reason to keep looking. The price was fair and they are taking care of the issues I raised. Interest rate was very good, too. I recommend it, and I will go there again.

I honestly cannot say enough about how great Johnny & Rocco (and everyone else, though I didnt catch their names) have been. I first bought my 2010 Ford Escape a little less than a year ago & they worked their butts off to get me financed because my credit wasnt too great at the time. They worked fast & made sure I still got a great deal! They said that I could come back after nine months and refinance my loan or trade in my ford, if i chose to. I absolutely loved the car, but i ended up trading in my Ford for a 2013 Nissan Rogue a few days ago simply because i commute everywhere & wanted a car with a little less miles on it. im so happy! I went from a rate of 23% on my loan to 4% through trading in my car (and fixing my credit, of course). Even with the 23%, they were able to help me get financed with a company while not breaking the bank every month.They have been so helpful & so kind, as well as understanding the fact that Im a 20 year old with no knowledge about car stuff 😂 I would definitely recommend Johns Auto to anyone... they are a fantastic dealer that is much more concerned with getting you a great deal then how much money theyre getting out of it. Amazing place!

Everyone was so incredibly helpful! I bought a 2010 Ford with a 23% interest rate (due to my credit), and they were able to bring that down to 4%, so I could get a wonderful 2013 Nissan 9 months later. Definitely recommend!

These guys were fantastic! I read a lot of reviews on Google and there were a few that had me kind of hesitant, I went anyways because they had the exact jeep I was looking for. The alternator had an issue as I was driving back to the cape and they told me to come back. They had it fixed in less than an hour. They made my car buying experience unnerving! I will definitely buy another vehicle from these guys!

Where do I begin. The service here starts off great until they get you in a car. After that the service is a steady decline. My wife and I purchased 2 cars from here and have had trouble ever since. We have brought both cars in to be serviced and left with the same issue. The issues with these cars has only gotten worse. Dealing with this place is incredibly time consuming. There is no internal communication between employees or departments. Paul, one of the employees severely lacks customer service skills. He is completely rude and disrespectful. He hangs up on customers and doesnt relay messages at all. If you call and Paul picks up you may as well hang up before he hangs up on you. The guys in the shoes are OK. Although I brought my car in for a simple repair and it seems nothing has been done. I have heard good things about this place but my personal experience has been the worst. Just this morning had another great conversation with Mr. Paul. Needless to say I will need to calling is pointless in scheduling service appointments. Also be prepared to be with out your car for a couple days at a time. It also takes a couple days just to be able to get your vehicle looked at.

Recently, I found myself needing to buy another vehicle, and the first thought that came to me was, I need a vehicle I will go see Johns. I bought my first vehicle from him eleven years ago and it was such a thorough pleasant experience that I had to go back. I just purchased a Subaru and was helped by a very knowledgeable gentleman named Rocco in sales. There was not a question I had that went unanswered. When I arrived at delivery time, my vehicle was clean, registered and ready to roll right off the lot. If you are looking for a high quality used car, this is the place. You can look anywhere else but you will not find better deals than those at John’s Auto. I believe their sign outside says something like satisfaction with a smile, and I was smiling broadly when I left. I Recommend John and his team wholeheartedly.

I was in a rush because I needed a new car, and it was for work. This was my first large purchase, and Rocco worked with e to get me in the type of car I could afford and wanted! It was clear that Rocco did his best to get me driving out of the lot ASAP!

Just bought my second car from Johns. First time around didnt have much credit so I got nailed on the interest rate. This time around I got less than 6% because I established credit with the last loan. They have always treated my wife and I very well and have always been on the level with me with cars we were looking at.As with ANY car dealer, ask the right questions, look at more than the body of the car. If you dont know about cars bring someone that knows cars.

John is the worst auto dealership I have ever been to . They are unprofessional and they don’t treat customers with loyalty and care. I think there has been fraud going on. They won’t give me back my money and I have been asking for a while now. He is the most disrespectful, unprofessional and charismatic man I’ve ever met.

Had a really good time purchaising a car from this dealership, the staff was friendly and very helpful at the image of their boss john. they took care of all my queries about the car and made sure i was satisfied. There was no low ball or gimmick, they went straight to the point and were upfront. The purchaised car (2015 mercedes benz ml350) drives great and was able to pass inspection. Will definitely recommend this dealership to everybody.

If you deal with this used auto dealers I highly recommend going to this location over the north andover/Lawrence location. The Lawrence location is really horrible and unethical with empty promised. Franklyn the manager at Lawrence branch is ignorant and only cares for quick sales. John is very friendly and willing to go out of his way for his customers. GO TO SOMERVILLE. Changed it to a 5 start due to the fact working with John is great.

I found this place to be unprofessional. When I first walk in I felt so confident but that lasted all 5 minutes and just got worse. I asked to test drive a car and was told I couldnt until it was serviced- okay thats fine I understand, but then they suggested a couple other cars. So I step out to what I assume is test drive cars, and I was wrong. The guy drove us to a parking garage, and didnt even tell us why or explain where we were going which was worrysome. He didnt speak any words until I asked questions. When I asked about test driving, he said Id have to put a down payment first. So now I have to put money down on a car I may not even like? When asking him why, he said its because they dont like putting money to a car that might not sell. From being told all cars are serviced and maintence to going to me having to pay money first: thats not how it works. Not only that, but he was texting and driving!!! Ridiculous. Went in to see a Volvo XC90. They had it listed online with a third row seat, but after going there I found out that there wasnt a third row seat. The people are friendly and willing to help. The low rating is because the car I went to see wasnt the one advertised online.

However if you need to bring a gaggle of people to help you buy a car or you need a full entertainment destination look elsewhere)Long form=====================I was looking for a car and some locals enthusiastically recommended this place. It was very easy to see why.First very friendly no pressure people who listen to your needs and don’t try to aggressively up-sale or condemn you.Secondly the owner John is a mechanic and tells you what he thinks about the cars on his lot. Not from a guy from marketing perspective but from an honest joe perspective of a guy-that-tries-to-help-you-out-while-trying-to-pay-his-mortgage.(That is he tries to do the right thing and isn’t going to rip you off either but he can’t give you something for nothing, like the big dealerships on the occasional insane promotion (which are deceptive and extremely hard to get anyway)).He showed me the car fax immediately (w/o prompting) when I asked about a particular car) and listened to my needs to determine if the car I thought about truly reflected my needs.Third, allowed me to take the car for a spin to see if I wanted the car (with photocopy of ID) of course.I did not feel rushed in anyway despite starting my test drive less than an hour before the dealership closed.When I returned with the car, we chatted and he inquired if I wanted the car, or wanted him to hold the car for me for a few days while I made a decision or send it to an independent mechanic.Again very easy going and sympathetic listener despite being 10 minutes to closing.I bought the car upfront. he told me he could have it done as soon as I needed it, but he wanted to keep it a few days for one last safety check before he handed me the car. He was even able to knock off a few hundred off the total price as I paid upfront.(This is in addition to the fact that they had just recently lowered the price of the vehicle from $6995 to $5995, he reconfirmed the price was $5995 and apologized for the initial misquote).I expressed my tight timetable and he promised to have it done try the next afternoon or he would provide a loaner.He had it ready the next day after making a few final adjustments to the car (the shifter was too tight and loosened for instance).Some people when I told them about paying upfront scoffed that it would take me forever to get my car because “they already had my money”. This was decidedly not the case.Everyone and I mean everyone in the dealership did their best to help out!(Thanks John, Jimmy, Rocco, Paul, Matt and Goku the adorable dog ‘mascot’)This is despite the fact, I was buying the cheapest car on the lot and they were very busy everyone took time to make me feel like a VIP.It only took me 90 minutes to finalize the paperwork. (This included 20 minutes to buy car insurance through someone they recommended)(Again they were happy for me to use my own insurance guy and didn’t pressure me about insurance either)This is honestly the least amount of hassle and most pleasant experience I’ve ever had in buying a car.Of the dozen times I’ve been to a dealership, either buying/helping friends or family buy I’m used to spending 3-4 hours waiting once the purchase is decided upon and this is with much more expensive cars $25,000+ at a ‘new car’ dealership)My friends have said they’ve spent 5-6 hoursafter they decided to purchase a vehicle.My only “complaint” is that John and company has spoiled me with quality customer service and that I hope John stays healthy and in business for at least another 46 years...

DECEPTION IF YOU ARE NOT WISE THEY WILL GET YOU.....I was referred by a friend who gave me a good review the day I was going out to the lot I got a BAD review needless to say the bad review was TRUTH........BASICALLY SAME STORY FOR ME.............The owner John seemed to have a good heart but as I read the reviews I realize everyone is given the same story same offer basically same scam. I pray for the owner of this business. I am still waiting on my money to be returned to my account its been 10 days now and no return I am entering a claim with my financial institute and reporting this action to the better business bureau. I decided Not to buy the vibe I got just wasnt sitting well... went to get my deposit back long story short THEY ARE NOT HONEST PEOPLE. BE WISE TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. John is very relieable and honest. He does the best he can to make you comfortable in a deal the works for you. I have a great car the works well and Johns also does the servicing when it is needed.

I bought a used suv and have had a lot of issues but they are working to get it fixed ...john was very helpful and did his best to help resolve the issues with my car . I would go back again ... all used cars have their issues and at least they work with you .. thanks John

My experience trying to sell them a car was good. The buyers tried to offer me $4k for a car worth over $6k in trade-in, that offer was sill and you could see it in their faces, I sold the car on Craigslist after 1 day posting for $7k. I still think it is only fair because it is their job to buy low and sell high. The team here however is very pleasant. I visited twice, they are extremely patient. Always offer a cup of coffee or water, treat you with respect and unlike many dealers I noticed they respect peoples time. they dont tr to keep you in there for hours, they got at least 4 customers in and out with a resolution to their querry in less than 30 minutes of me being there.The only reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5 is really the offer they gave me on my car, it was not even reasonable.
