First time visiting! I went on a Wednesday morning around 830am for new tires. Very helpful and friendly service. Got me in and out under an hour for all 4tires replacement. Prices were affordable and they give him you options so you can choose what fits your budget. I highly recommend.

Great place. Adam & Nick took care of us. Found 3 nails on my tire, fixed it at no cost. Very thorough, they even polished the tires while I was there. Took time to explain the process to me. Michelin didnt have the tires that I needed for my vehicle so I ended up settling with the second best tire which I was not happy with. When I wrote a review Jeff immediately called me and told me that he had already talked to Michelin and ended up getting me the exact tire that I needed. The second best tire that I originally got was about $50 cheaper for a set of two and Jeff didnt even charge me the price difference for the better tires. When I arrived at the store there was a line out the door and Jeff called me right up to the front, he got my keys I wouldnt be surprised if he actually pulled a car out of the Bay to make sure mine got in there first. He really took care of me. The whole experience only took about 25 minutes. When discount tire says theyre going to do a free replacement they really mean it. Im very happy with the store and Im very happy with Jeff. Thank you!! I would recommend this shop to anybody.

In and out under 2 hours, only because they were backed up when I arrived. A good place.

I had an emergency and needed to get my tires changed asap due to damaged tire. Jeff and Caleb were able to help me. I called to learn to see if they had my tires. They had the front ones in stock. Affordable tires and too quick of in and out work I guess. Lug nuts loosened up, spent all week stressed about trying to get in for a brake appointment at a shop. Finally got my hands on a floor jack to find lug nuts removed with the flick of a wrist. I was able to put the wheel back on, fixing the intermittent grind, and when I went back to spend more of my time while they double checked everything... I was told it happened because they didnt buff the corrosion off my hubs well enough the first time. I was treated like because my wheels are so corroded they performed poorly. My stress and hassles were met with the request that I find a solution.

On the road for work and got a flat. These guys saved my work day by fixing my flat (for free) and getting me back on the road fast and with a smile. It’s always good to get treated like a high paying customer even if I’m not.

I’ve been a customer of the Solana Beach Discount Tire location for almost 10 years. I came in for a routine tire rotation and Jerry informed me that the tread was very low on one of my tires and getting close to being low on the other three. I hadn’t noticed this because my tires were rated for 50,000 miles and I only had 30,000 miles on my Yokohama Avid Ascent G/Ts. These tires perform so well on mountain roads as well as in snow. He offered me significant credit toward getting a new set of tires which I gladly accepted. I’ve always had superior customer service at this location and I’m happy to write this review. Has always been a decent place to buy tires but the attitude of the employees its strange. I got barked at for stopping in the wrong area of the parking lot. All the guys mounting tires stopped working to come out and yell at me for parking. Their time would be better spent concentrating on the tires and they heavy equipment theyre using. Although their pricing is good my wheels have been damaged almost every time the amount of tire. Small chips scratches things that can be avoided. Management needs to step up.

My low pressure light came on in my Lexus. The dealer wanted $1,100 to replace the TPMS sensors on the tires and the spare. Discount Tires did it in 45 minutes for under $400.😀🤑

200 miles after getting some tires rotated, noticed a strange sound/friction on front tires - turns out, they did not properly tighten lug nuts, and 3 of 4 wheels were minutes from completely coming off my truck. Had to jack it up and tighten everything on my own. Upon my return to Discount the following week, they were less than interested in the fact this had happened...Word to the wise, double check their work

Schedule your rotation ahead of time, and theyre great with getting it handled. Professional, answers questions, and even gets things done faster than their estimates if you show up on time. Walk ins always welcome too. Highly recommend this site for any tire needs.

My girlfriend got her tires changed at another location earlier this year and has since developed a slow leak in one of her tires. She went to the Solana Beach location and was assisted by Store Manager Gerry, who proceeded to inform her that she did not have a slow leak (despite not running any diagnostic tests or conducting a proper examination of the tire) and then told her she needs a new boyfriend that understands cars. Now one week later, the tire is almost completely flat and I will need to have it towed to another location to actually have the issue resolved.

Went in for a flat tire and the service was fantastic. All of the staff were super friendly and got me in and out in no time. One of the best Discount Tires I have ever been to. If anyone is looking for great service these are the guys!

I came in about 15 minutes before closing with a low tire after working the election polls all day. Tire was clearly leaking air after I filled it the day before, and I was extremely stressed because I need to get up early to work it for the main election tomorrow and would most likely have another low tire when I finished late that day. The attendant took the time to patch my tire so that Ill be able to drive despite them wanting to close for the night. Super greatly appreciate the service I received in this high stress situation! Will definitely go there again after excellent service.

I got a new Porsche and eventually the tires ran down and I needed new tires. After my research I ended up at discount Solana Beach. I was hovering over the parking lot trying to keep an eye on my car. One of the technicians noticed me and walked up to me and asked me if I had any concerns. I said yes I want to know if theres any issues with the installation as I feel you guys are having trouble. He explain to me that the valve stems were too long and that he needed to rebuild the existing valve stems. Therefore the new tires needed to be removed and replaced one more time. I felt relieved. and then another technician came up and started talking to me about my car as well. These are good people up there. If you need tires give them a try.

Im disappointed the way Discount Tire handles business and existing clients. Not the first time they are trying to force me into buying a new tire whenever Im trying to get a repair. Long story short, a few weeks ago I came by to get the tire repaired as shown in the attachment and after 3 HOURS WAITING they told me they cant repair and need to get a new $300 tire (they didnt even have the same tire in stock). If you look at the image, it is punctured from the bottom not the side and tread on the tire is still in good condition but yet, they decline to repair because they are not making money on FREE repairs. Guess what Discount Tire, I went to a different shop, got it repaired for $19 Same b.s they do when I tried to rotate tires on a different vehicle, they told me they cant because tread was too low and I need to buy all 4 new tires.

Great job and they put all four tires on in about an hour when I came in with out an appointment. Brain was super helpful and loaded my old tires in the back of the truck and gave me some tips for alignment and keeping the tread even on the tires

Warning! Not honest and not honoring protection plan. Fernando tried to call my tire bald and showed the tire tread gauge with 0 measurement. Therefore, not covered by protection plan! I complained and I measured (properly) using the exact same gauge and it had 5/32 left! Heading to other Discount Tire location.

Been going to this Discount Tire location in Solana Beach for almost 20 years. Consistently good, fast service, usually easy to get in without an appointment. Quality Tires and you cant beat the free tire rotation and care if you buy your tires from them. Why go anywhere else? Also recommended to me by my trusted car mechanics.

Tommy was SUPER helpful and got us in and out really fast. We were very thankful since we started our road trip up the coast only to find our tires werent balanced after they had been rotated at another place. With a 3 year old and 18 month old ready to be on vacation, stopping to have the tires balanced was not ideal timing. Their phone service is rude. Once they know you are shopping for the best tire price, they are not helpful with your tire needs. I suggest you go elsewhere for assistance with your tire pricing needs.

We always have a great experience coming to discount tire, we have bought tires for our cars and they are very fast doing the work, the latest experience was pleasant when I stopped to have air put in the tires of my car, is a courtesy service offered at some discount tire locations and it’s free.

They did mission impossible! I called them at 10 am telling them I needed very specific snow tires within 48 hours. They did not have the tires in stock, but they ordered them and they arrived within a few hours. That same day, they installed the snow tires within an hour. Amazing experience and customer service and love the tires!

Tech installed the spare tire upside down on the hanger assembly under the rear of my 2010 Chevy 3500HD, which didnt allow for the wheel to hold securely. The wheel hung loosley undet the truck, and broke the hangar assembly. This would have been obvious to the kid doing this. This company has really gone downhill since the owner died.

HistoricallyI have had really good service, BUT...today went off the rails. I made a rez on their (new?) system. When i got there, there was no record of the appointment. The service guy insisted that it was my error and so on...and that they could not do anything about it. No help, no solutions that fit the end of day time slots. Still rolling around on mini spare in the rain..think I will try another shop for a while.

I live within walking distance of Solana Beach Discount Tire but always avoid going there, unless I have a flat. Repeatedly, when I have come in for a simple rotation, they try to sell me a set of tires. NEVER has this been when I have asked their advice or when my tires are low on tread. They must think every woman, whatever age, is an idiot about tires and has $800 to blow that day. I know when I need tires, I know when they should be rotated. This has also happened to my husband a multitude of times whose trucks have about $1300 of tires all around - they see him coming and dollar signs must flash. which is what happened today when all he needed was a rotation. My prime example was when I went in for 2 tires in my small vehicle and the manager told me it all was too unsafe to buy only 2 at a time. No, I said, I want and need only 2. He went on and on about how his conscious would not allow him to sell me any less than 4, that it was my safety at risk. I left there, went to the Discount off 78 and they found me 2 tires at a good price, and I drove for another year and a half before needing anything more in the way of tires. Why is it that they think the customer is always wrong? They need to respect the customers wishes..

PHENOMENAL SERVICE and they fixed my tire problem for free. My wife and I moved to Solana Beach just a month ago and I still had a nagging problem with the front left tire on my 350Z deflating considerably when I made a trip long enough to get the tires hot. The Michelin pilot sport tires were very new and the tire pressure sensor was working fine and I couldnt find a dreaded nail anywhere. I phoned Discount Tire on Wednesday morning and Gustavo greeted me very pleasantly and answered my questions with an interested and concerned attitude. He suggested I bring my Nissan in and they would run some tests to find the problem.I walked into the showroom / front desk area about 10.30am and asked for Gustavo but he had gone on an early lunch break so a guy called Aaron offered to assist me. I explained the weird issue with the tire pressure going down and he said to leave my Z with them for about 45 minutes and they would run a water test and check for an air leak. I was waiting in the showroom about 20 minutes when a technician named Omar came in and said the tire passed the water test but he would check where the tire pressure sensor and valve are connected as sometimes there can be a leak if it is not a secure connection. A few minutes later Omar brought my car around to outside the showroom and explained he could not find an air leak anywhere but to be on the safe side he replaced the nut that secures the valve in place. I thanked him and asked what do I owe you? Omar said I owe nothing. I really appreciated that though I was certainly not expecting anything for free. At this point I would have no idea if the front left tire pressure leak was solved until I went on a decent trip and got the tires hot. After checking the tire pressure later that afternoon and going for a reasonable drive the tire pressure on the front left held up but I still wasnt sure how it would hold up after a long drive to Balboa Park. I made the trip last night and after 21 miles each way the tire pressure was perfect. I really cant thank these guys enough for their can do attitudes and very helpful service ....with a smile. I know where we are buying our next set of tires ...for sure.

Went to their website. Ordered my tires. Set up an appointment a couple of days in the future. The staff was courteous, installed my tires quickly, and I was on my way. The waiting room was comfortable and clean and had WiFi. This is the way Im buying tires from now on.

I was visiting from New York City and I was driving from San Diego to San Francisco. Just when I reached Solana Beach I got a flat, but I was lucky enough to have been only 2 miles away from The Discount Tire Store. When I got there I was treated like a friend by an associate named Ian. He told me they would fix my flat for free but then came back to tell me the tire was too badly chewed up to save. What he did next was totally unexpected and unheard of in NYC. He replaced my tire for FREE! Granted it was a used tire but the car was a rental and he stated he wanted me to get to my destination safely. The used tire was in better shape than all the other tires on my rental. I want to thank Ian and the Discount Tire Store in Solana Beach California for putting the safety of a stranger before profits. I am so glad I met Ian and was introduced to this amazing store. I highly recommend this place. I will never forget what they did for me and I promise I will Pay it forward!!

I do not recommend this place to fill up your tires with air if your have a trailer or motorhome. Not easy to maneuver around. We pulled up to see where they wanted us to go and immediately got yelled at that we couldn’t park where we were. Cesar was incredibly rude right off the bat. Thankfully Jesus filled up our tires and not Cesar or they wouldn’t have 3 stars. Jesus was very helpful and knows how to treat the customer. Cesar can take lessons from Jesus.

They helped me out by changing a tire after hours. I had a flat and limped into the shop just after closing time. A couple of the guys stuck around and put on a new tire. I really appreciated that.I have also had no trouble with their guarantee on tires. Replacements occur with no questions asked.

If you denounce and scorn unethical business practices, know that Discount Tire of 2242 Palm Ave. is guilty of such conduct. On the 12th of January, I took time away from work and my very busy schedule to have one of my tires patched (I explained my time constraint to the technician, MY VULNERABILITY, and later Discount Tire would try to take advantage of that and the PERCEPTION that I was made of money).The evening prior, I had plugged a hole that was well inside the repairable area of the tire (a run flat) and the tire held its air just fine. I was one of the first customers the next day, and after explaining what the problem was (and after they inspected the tire themselves) I was told that the repair would take about 45 minutes to an hour. They dismounted my tire, pulled the plug that I had inserted and then gave me the sad news (in a pseudo consoling manner) that they could not repair my tire because I did not insert the plug through the entire channel of the original puncture.My question is **DID THEY NOT KNOW THAT THERE WAS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF THAT?** COULD THEY NOT EXPLAIN THIS TO ME BEFORE THEY PULLED THEY PLUG? Their solution was that I should buy a new tire from them for $484 (I later found the exact tire online for $210). Discount Tire then refused to return my tire to its original state, and even to put air in it if I replugged it myself. A one hour repair and time away from work and my busy schedule turned in to a four (4) hour ordeal all because Discount Tire assumed that because I drove a BMW 650i and that Im a Service Member (I was in my uniform), Im either rolling in money or stupid or both. They even offered to extend me credit to buy the tire (which offended me a great deal).After waiting on roadside assistance for what seemed like forever, I decided to limp my run flat about one mile on the other side of Palm Ave. to Magic Tire Shop. They dismounted the tire and inspected the sidewall (it was good), patched and plugged the hole in about 20 minutes and I was allowed to observe the entire process (THEY GET FIVE STARS LIKE ALL THEIR OTHER REVIEWS). A professional and courteous little mom and pop spot. It only cost me $20. I later called BF Goodrich (my tire manufacturer) and they said I should be good to go but they cannot guarantee the W rating of the tire (speeds up to 168 MPH). After I drive to Vegas and back in the coming weeks, I plan to have the tire dismounted and reinspected at Magic Tire Shop to make sure all is fine.My final question is **WHAT MAKES DISCOUNT TIRE SPECIAL** Their prices are ridiculous, their customer service is poor and above all else, THEY ARE DISHONEST. What makes them special is that they lure victims and prey in with their promise of free tire repairs and... THEY ARE PREDATORS. There is no such thing as a free lunch.I almost forgot a few details. I kept my decorum throughout the entire ordeal, never once raising my voice or using profanities, except for my facial expression and refusing to be RIPPED OFF. They however, thought it fit to reinstall my tire with an old valve stem (loose on the inside) like a bad surgeon to a patient (who knows what sort of damage that could have caused (had i decided to replug my tire and have roadside assistance air me up). They also managed to lose my BMW valve stem cap in the short span of time we interacted (which I insisted needed to be replaced).

Ive been a customer of Discount Tire for years. Every set of tires Ive purchased over the last 15 years has been from Discount Tire. Except one. Trying to save some money, I bought a set of 80,000 mile tires from Tire Rack 36,000 miles ago. Those tires are shot, and the installer is out of business. Checking my records, I couldnt find the installer invoice with a record of the odometer reading at the time of the installation. Discount Tire offered to intercede on my behalf with Tire Rack. I provided other documentary evidence of the approximate odometer at install, and Discount Tire provided the tread wear measurements. They called Tire Rack and worked out a prorated warranty claim that got me 60% credit on 2 tires and 30% credit on 1. One tire didnt pass the prorated warranty test, so nothing on that one. I bought a set of Pirellis from Discount and they installed them and took care of shipping the old tires back to Tire Rack.Also, I had a flat on the Tire Rack tires about 1.5 years ago. Discount fixed the flat FOR FREE. I reminded them that I didnt buy the tires from them. Didnt matter. They did it anyway.Also, I called them recently to check the price on a tire rotation for a car we bought last year. The price? NO CHARGE. Didnt matter that didnt sell those to me either.These guys have always been a stand up company. No more TireRack for me, just to save a few bucks. Thats a false economy anyway.
