I have had a wheel alignment twice at Drive Auto Care. Each time they were friendly and professional, and the service was provided in a timely manner. I will be a returning customer when I have the need. I definitely recommend Drive Auto Care.

I highly recommend Autocare in Solana Beach. Paul and his colleagues provided a first class service on my Cadillac Escalade. They diagnosed the suspension system problem, replaced the part to fix it and did various other checks of the engine. They provided superior service at a better price than Hoehns dealership in Carlsbad who are extortionately priced rip off merchants. I will continue using Autocare for all my future auto needs.

I was in town from Phoenix and my car was not doing so well. The sparks and coils went out the day before I was suppose to drive home. The team at Drive was so nice and accommodating and got me in immediately even though they seemed booked and busy. I was shocked when I got a call at 7pm because they stayed late to ensure I got my diagnosis and my car was ready to go the next afternoon. They took the time to talk to me and my Husband a couple times (he was home in AZ and Im somewhat clueless about cars). They have very fair prices, and a nice clean shop. I wish they had a location in Phoenix because they would be my full time mechanic if so.

I did a smog test. Welcoming reception, professional and efficient. Work was completed on time, while I could take a little walk through Cedros and look at the Ocean at Fletchers Cove.

Took an hour and a half to tell me they couldn’t smog test my car because the idle was slightly too high. Charge full smog test price for this service. Rude about trying to fix an “old car”. (1988)

Needed an oil change last minute so I could go out of town for a family emergency. They were able to accommodate me the next day and I was able to leave on time. I had gone to a couple oil change chains and they were unable to do an oil change on a Porsche. I found them online, they had great reviews, stopped in and asked if they could accommodate me and I had my oil changed and ready to go in a couple hours. I will definitely be using them again.

Wow this place is amazing! Really nice people that know what theyre doing. My sister said to come here with my BMW. I usually go to the BMW dealer but never again! This is by far the best experience I have had at an auto repair shop. They took me in at such a short notice and took care of my car very quickly. The team was generous and welcoming and the environment was very positive. I highly recommend coming here for any of your car needs!

Made appointment two days in advance to drop car off mid morning for 75k-90k service with the main item being spark plug replacement and check engine light diagnostics.Was advised that service would be relatively quick.After a few hours, called several times to get a check on status with each time a promise to call right back..Finally get a call back stating car was ready.Upon pickup, find out that the check engine light was not checked, none of the 75k, 90k maintenance items were checked/done. The only thing that was done was spark plug replacement.Nice and friendly, but felt pushed in and pushed out. Not comprehensive or thorough.Couldve saved a few hours and went threw a drive through service for what I got.

These guys are awesome. My car was due for service but, after a year in isolation, I was worried about getting it done in the usual way. When I asked about no-contact service, DRIVE really delivered, and I mean that literally. They scheduled the service, picked up my car and returned it to my house. They kept me informed throughout the process about when to expect them, what service was needed, and the cost, which was better than reasonable. I wont forget the kindness and consideration. Ill be a loyal DRIVE customer even after all of this pandemic stress has passed.

Paul always takes great care of me and my 2003 BMW 5-Series wagon when Ive brought it in to have the front struts replaced and for the buy one get one free oil changes. Always professional, always communicative and never pushes services or items that arent necessary. I trust them when they tell me something really needs to be done.

On my most recent visit to Drive, I was only there for a smog check. I arrived a few moments early and was promptly checked in. The procedure was done quickly and my vehicle was returned to me. DRIVE performed a smog test, and adjusted the suspension stiffness for my 97 Porsche. On-time, friendly, and I appreciated the shuttle service.

I previously had written a negative review, but have removed the review. Not because my feelings on the experience changed- but because of the extreme professionalism the owner (Mike) displayed to rectify the situation. I had posted the review and within hours Mike called me to hear what happened. He immediately offered his apologies and did everything he could to make things right. I am sorry I had the bad experience, but I can say that it really meant a lot that Mike cared enough about me as a customer and the reputation of his long standing business to reach out and correct the situation. Knowing that he stands true to customer experience gives me assurance that this is a reputable business. Kudos to Mike for exceptional customer service!

I’ve been taking our cars here for many years whenever we receive notices from the DMV to get a smog check. I like that the smog notice electronically goes directly to the DMV so no mailing or anything that I have to do at my end. Great area especially since you can walk down the street to Claire’s for a coffee! Highly recommend!!

Quick easy smart test with an appt

We have taken our car to Drive for several years when Paul worked there. When we referred our visiting daughter there to get her oil changed, they told her that the front brake pads needed to be repaired. Okay, fine, seemed reasonable since the car has 44K miles on it. Then the estimate came in....holy cow. Unfortunately, she was not quick enough to stop the oil change, an air filter and cabin filter..cha ching. ($ 250.00!!) But we were fortunate enough to stop the brake job ( $700.00 for 2 front brakes on a Toyota Rav 4 btw) and went to another well known shop in Encinitas and we were able to get the work done for under $300.00. That is crazy. Im convinced if Paul were still there it would be different, but what do I know. Im also suspicious that if it were a male with some knowledge of cars that walked in, instead of a 25 yr old female, the cost would not have been as outrageous. So disappointing!

I have been taking three of my vehicles to Direct Auto since it was North Coast Alignment. The service is excellent and quality beats all others I have used over 30 years. Our 4Runner has a lot of off-roading, wifes car is a Prius, and daughters Scion. All have received great service.

Id heard about the great service at DRIVE from friends for quite a while. I always bring my car to the auto dealer for service. I had a tail light that needed to be repaired, so I thought Id give DRIVE a try. I had an appointment at their shop on N Cedros at 8:30am. They were super friendly, professional and courteous and checked me in quickly and efficiently. When I asked how much it would cost to repair the tail light, they said it would be max $30. I thought that was very reasonable. They drove me to work in time to make my 9am start time. They called me at 11am as promised and said the car was ready. When I asked how much the repair was, they said it was no charge. Yes, NO CHARGE!!!!!! OMG! Not only did they drive me to work and not charge me for the repair, they delivered my car to my office. YES!! Amazing. DRIVE, you guys are awesome! Ill definitely be back to you again for service!

I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia with about 128k miles. My running lights would stay on when I turned off the headlights and ignition. I took my car to 2 other shops to get quotes to fix it. I got 2 different diagnostic results and 2 very different prices.Then, fortunately, my Uber driver told me about Drive Auto Care after I told him about my car problems. He said he’s had many of his passengers praise them for their excellent service.After taking my car to Drive Auto Care, Paul came up with a solution for me temporarily so my battery wouldn’t run down from my running lights not turning off. When I had time to bring my car back they diagnosed the issue for me, which turned out to be different and hundreds of dollars less than the other 2 auto shops. The running lights are turning off properly now.Paul and everyone I met at Drive were very helpful. They sincerely wanted to resolve my car issue as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. I found an auto shop I can trust. Thank goodness!

Drive AutoCare performed Star Smog Test and oil change in time estimated and called me in restaurant as arranged. I was satisfied with the work and the efficiency and friendly rep I dealt with. This was the 2nd time I had these services there and will return the next time they are needed.
