I was referred to Drive Auto by Torrey Pines Collision, the owner of which I know well.When I called Drive Auto, Brian the manager was very welcoming and made an appointment quickly.When I arrived for my appointment, Brian explained everything to me and told me they would look at my problem (stuck hood latch) and get back to me soon.I got a call the next day that the latch on my hood now could be opened, but they could not get a replacement part because it was no longer available. They said they could continue to try to get a used part if I desired them to, but since I could now open the hood, I decided that was enough.When I went to pick up my truck, one of the mechanics showed me what was done and made sure I could open the hood.I asked how much the bill would be, but they said since all they did was bend the hood latch a little, there would be no charge. I was so grateful!In these times when costs are so expensive, it’s so wonderful to work with people who don’t “nickel and dime” every chance they get!I will certainly take my business to Drive Auto and send my friends there as well in the future!

Brian has excellent communication and explains what needs to be done to me in layman‘s terms which I really appreciate. GreatExcellent, friendly service. I dropped my car off for routine service first thing in the morning and I was on my way again before 10am. Brian took the time to carefully explain the dash warning I was getting after fixing it and the bill was very reasonable. We have taken our cars to DRIVE before and have always been very pleased. Years of 5-star service from Drive is what I have had, and now finally, this review.Like most of you reading this, I have a BMW, in fact I have had many. The last 3 have all been serviced by Drive in SB. Best decision ever. This review is prompted from Drive, and especially Brian for going not beyond, but WAY beyond.Let me say that if you go to Drive, you will get fairly priced (not expensive, not cheap, fair and affordable!) service. You will get the best customer service experience you have ever had, and I can promise you, IF by some chance something isnt what you want, they WILL work to resolve it. There is never a need to put a negative review for them, I know for a fact, they will go to the end of the earth to resolve anything, they are on your side.Case in point, my 2013 needed valve cover gasket, new radiator and other things. 3K of repairs. But I have a purchased warranty. So in all cases your mechanic has to call them and get the repairs approved. They approved the radiator but not the 2K for the valve stuff.Brian called me to notify me about this.. Remember he was on the phone with them for quite some time, on hold, then the adjuster, etc..So I called, same answer. Urghh!!! Brian suggested another way to approach it and offered to try. Guess what, another 1K towards the repairs. That is the kind of thing Drive will do for you.I go there for every single thing for my BMW. I have never ever been anything but 100% satisfied. I never have to worry, or stress. What more can you say.

I had a hard knocking noise when I made a u-turn and they correctly diagnosed the problem and replaced the parts at a very low price. Checking around, they were the most accurate, fair experts for car repairs.I give them 5 out of 5 stars rating!

Our Audi car battery died when we were on vacation in Solana Beach and this was the closest place that came up on Google. We felt very blessed because they came within minutes to jumpstart our car to take it to the shop and two hours later, our vehicle was ready for pickup and we were back to vacation again. We were very pleased with the fast and friendly service.

We had a positive experience at Drive AutoCare yesterday. As we drove in at 8am to drop one car off for a smog check we realized our other car had a headlight out. They quickly checked what type of light was required and said they could get the bulb by the end of the day. When we came to pick up the smogged car around 4:30pm they switched out my headlight while my husband payed for the services. Quick and simple! They also wore masks and were respectful about social distancing. Would definitely go there again!

After the repair on my car ended up being something silly (which some mechanics would have been dishonest about), I am certain that I can trust the people at Drive. 5 stars is not enough great advice great service

Ive been coming to these shop for over 10 years now. Ive never had a bad experience, which shows just how customer focused Drive is! I have the most inconvenient work schedule and I still get serviced there without missing a beat! Ive had oil changes, brakes replaced, catalytic converters (two of them, ☹️) tires replaced etc and never had an issue. Brian S. Is the true gem of this shop, he makes sure I understand everything from service to price before it happens and he always goes the extra mile where Ive learned most auto shops do not. Example I bought I used vehicle from the Mazda off Cannon in Carlsbad, turns out the interior lights were out, went back to the dealership and they wanted to charge me $120 per light that needed to be replaced!! I went to Drive to have the vehicle checked out and told Brian about the lights and he had his crew swap them out free. And this is one of many stories about how Brian and his team go above and beyond and I will always go to their shop. Customer for life! Plus big thank you to Drive for creating a better customer experience year after year, you guys keep improving upon greatness!

They kindly offer their advice on what’s worth replacing and what’s not worth replacing given the vehicles age, helping my car and my wallet. A+ Autoshop!

Brian and the guys have been taking care of all the cars in my family for several years now. We know that they will be honest about what our cars need and always provide a fair price. Most recently, I reached out to Brian when my tires were unable to be rotated due to a damaged lug nut. They were able to see the car right away, got the new part, fixed it and rotated tires while they were at it. Best part …. I was not even charged!!! Brian and the team continue to take care of me and my cars with quick appointments, courtesy rides back to work (when needed) and trustworthy service! So happy to have a place and a team I can trust. When my battery failed, I had my car started by AAA and drove straight to DRIVE on HWY 101. They were able to replace the battery and get my car back to me in less than an hour!! Great fast service!

I have been coming to this shop, originally California Import Auto, for more than a decade, with multiple vehicles. They have always taken great care of me and my vehicles, so much better than going to the dealerships! They even give you a ride home if your car will be in the shop for most of the day, and then come and get you when its done. I highly recommend them on every level.

My husband and I have taken our BMWs here since 2001. Now a widow and living in Arizona, I still drive to Solana Beach to have my car worked on by these marvelous gentlemen. I trust them completely and consider them to be family.

Im so glad my neighbor told me about this shop. I usually go to the BMW dealer but Ive always thought they were shady and expensive. Brian at Drive is the greatest guy and the team is so helpful. Their prices seem to be about 2/3 of the dealer and they have a much longer warranty.

I broke down outside of town and was already familiar with the friendly faces of this place having already had them check a small suspension noise that i had when i first started my vacation out there.Fast forward to my 3rd alternator in 2 months. I get this letter after requesting a refund due to their warranty coverage they offered (or dont offer? This letter makes that confusing). I only seek to reconcile this through them as they were in charge of all payment matters between the second shop where they replaced the 2nd alternator coming back home through Mesquite, NV. This cost me towing, hotel, and two days of work. Nevermind that I never actually requested they pay for any of that. Just the work done. A month later, the 2nd alternator goes bad. Signs of these alternates going bad happened the day after in both cases. I attempted to contact and they claim theyre not responsible. This letter says it again. As if the other shop had anything to do with the failure of the same Bosch alternator.2 stars for the polite staff at the location that tried to help me.0 stars for dishonest business ownership. Beware of their warranties.They stated that they are under NO obligation to cover them so youll be at their mercy as to whether or not theyll help you.
