Awesome new building in an area that is dramatically improving every month. Im so glad I moved in, this is easily the best place Ive in at in Seattle and Ive been here for almost 10 years. They currently have one month free when you sign the lease, and if you say I referred you (Tim Kruse) Ill give you $500.00 of the referral reward that I get! If you talk with the front office in the building and ask to speak with me I can give you more information and the true perspective of a tenant here. Also, the staff here is awesome! I have no clue how much they make but they definitely still deserve a raise.

Batik felt like home right away. The management team has been helpful and responsive. The place itself is convenient to locate, convenient for friends and guests to park, has amenities that are convenient and simply gorgeous. The roof top has a beautiful view all day long and is a great place to hang out. I cannot wait to fully utilize it. My apartment is beautiful. The view is gorgeous, the space is clean and the appliances look new. Its very comfortable. Also moving all my stuff is was pretty convenient. If I could make any recommendations it would be to have a better dolly or push cart to help when someone is moving. But it wasnt a big deal.

Gisella was an amazing resource to me, not only helping me pick out an amazing deal on an apartment (2 months free!!!), she helped me get the lay of the land in a new city. I loved the new apartments open floor plan, roof top, and the close proximity to the colorful international district with all its great shops! I also love how I can take the light rail to different places in the city and and even the street car to where I work in Capitol Hill.Gisella, really helped me get a feel for the city, a great deal with the free rent, and spot away from downtown, but close enough to public transit where I can easily get to where I need to go. Im very excited to call Seattle home and move into my new spacious digs! 5 star experience so far so good!

Recently moved in the year of 2020 and have had a good experience! The staff is helpful and kind! I have been working closely with Alexis and she is awesome. Shes honest, gives a good tour, and follows up in a timely matter. The move in process went smoothly and all information and logistics provided at the beginning were documented and have been followed thoroughly. Residents are also welcoming and friendly! Good location and good amenities!

I love living here. The amenities are fantastic and my apartment is fabulous. The free coffee from the big machine in the lobby/entry is wonderful! But even though I love it here, I have some minor qualms. Biggest one is the hospital helicopters. Heard one on my tour, so I knew how loud it was going to be. It may be easier to hear in the north-facing units. I’ve gotten used to it, but for anyone with kids/family who are sensitive/disturbed by loud sounds, be warned- you can see the helicopters fly low, right over Fir St. (north side of the building) and land on a helipad not too far away (you can watch them descend behind some trees from the rooftop deck). And naturally, you’ll hear a lot of ambulances too since Batik is a couple blocks away from Harborview.I also think it’s weird that the charging locations for electric cars are simultaneously handicapped parking spots that are assigned to people who don’t have electric cars. Seems inconvenient for everyone involved, but I don’t have an electric car, so I don’t know. And I am sad that the commercial spaces at the bottom of Batik/Cypress haven’t filled out as fast as I’d hoped. I’m dying for a convenience store (because I was spoiled by my last building!). Coffee shop downstairs is awesome though. But these things don’t matter a ton to me and probably won’t to most people. Just a little heads up in case someone has a baby/kid on the spectrum or an electric car.Haven’t noticed a supposed uptick in crime or had an issue with people’s dogs or construction quality. I’ve lived here a couple years now and still love it. Everything else I could say about the building is 100% positive!

We stayed there for a year. Recently had to move to another place due to personal reasons. However, Batik is a lovely community. I was fan of their rooftop and reception’s coffee vending machine. 😃We did not raise any work order request throughout the year as the apartment was new and never needed any fixing. This place is very close to FirstHill car stop and bus stops where you can get Rt27 and 60.They were also fair enough to return our security deposit on time.

New management and staff tries hard to be friendly and accommodate everyone. Most tenants are friendly and warm. Aesthetics are great but building construction isnt as quality and sound as it appears. My water pressure is very weak!

Scheduled a tour but when I arrived they said they had a different earlier time for me on the calendar in spite of their having emailed me confirmation. I didn’t receive a call or anything at the earlier time either, which was frustrating because it affected the rest of my schedule.

Decent amenities, but their sales tactics are ethically questionable. They pretend to be somebody in an apartment looking for a roommate, and its really sales staff trying to sell 3 people a 2 bedroom apartment with cubicle style walls in the living room to house 3. Way overpriced for what they deliver. Plus advertising a rooftop garden that tenants arent allowed to garden in is depressing.

Incorrect hours. Hiked all the way to the uphill location, but leasing tours ends one hour earlier. Was not even allowed to see the common areas. So if you plan to actually get a meaningful visit and not waste your time, probably best to call first

This place is fantastic! The people here are so friendly you might want to move in the day you arrive a lot of amenities in this building including a rooftop deck heating lamps a garden pet friendly TV rooms you name it on the expensive side however well worth it. Dont be swayed by the yesler Terrace name it is much better than it used to be across the street is a community center along with a Park where kids can play and the streetcar from the International District to the Broadway Light Rail station goes right by.

Everyone in the office is very accommodating! I made a really good choice of moving into this apartment. I can honestly say that their customer service is well put together. And when it comes down to them having to solve any problem that you may run across their quick to help you. The enironment is very friendly & you’re close by major resources (i.e library & train) i love it here!

Every day I live here, I feel so thankful! We are in a great unit with lots of light (and we even have air conditioning-BONUS)! The staff is very friendly and so quick to help. The maintenance team is over the top! Everyone feels like family. The common spaces are incredible (except for some echo issues in the 2nd floor kitchen area). Since we do not have room for a kitchen table in our apartment, it’s wonderful to have nice spaces to go to. The rooftop is the best I have ever seen! Huge fire pit, grills, plenty of sitting spaces. They even have a huge garden that is fully maintained and any resident is welcome to pick from it! The staff provided and cooked a community meal for everyone living here, just to get to know our neighbors! The washer and dryer are FANTASTIC. (I’ve lived in many places that I have disliked the washer and dryer so much that I have wanted to move.)The trash/recycle rooms are even kept impeccably clean! The mail area is easly accessible and I really appreciate the package concierge. There is fantastic on-site storage which has been very helpful for us.I am hoping and praying the rent does not go up ridiculously. I don’t want to move from here. There’s no place like home!

Incredibly Great Location, Home, and Management . I am so happy I decided to reside here. The staff is incredibly friendly and responsive, management does a great job of keeping the place clean and in order by treating residents respectfully. Location is great, you can get to cap hill easily or work on SLU in 10 mins or less. The area around is being gentrified quickly and there is a part across the street with a coffee shop attached to be opened soon. Inside the quality is very high with modern design and high quality appliances and fixtures. Very generous move in incentives make it almost a no brainier.-Wes Oliver

Batik was a great place to live for the first year I was here, then as soon as I renewed my lease things began going downhill.First, the units are overpriced for the neighborhood, which is filled with crime and homeless encampments. The building was designed without any guest parking whatsoever -- and of course charges over 200 for resident parking spaces -- so any time you have a guest over they are forced to park by homeless encampments. Ive had guests cars broken into multiple times in the past few months, items stolen and severe damage done. I even had a guests car broken into and peed in. Its disturbing to pay over $2000 for a unit in such a neighborhood and not be able to have visitors.Second, property management cares very little about enforcing the rules and ensuring that the community is a pleasant place to live. Residents constantly use the roof for smoking pot, drinking, and screaming at all hours of the night, disturbing many of the upper floor units. Reporting any such lease violations to property management accomplishes nothing, and in fact results in the reporter being treated dismissively and with annoyance. After living under tenants for a year without incident, I began having issues with my new upstairs neighbors that kept me from getting any sleep. Instead of dealing with my concerns, my reports were ignored and/or dismissed and treated with annoyance, and I was accused of banging on the ceiling (likely another neighbor annoyed by the same elephant neighbors). Despite my track record of not having issues with previous neighbors occupying the unit, I was essentially told that I had to just deal with inconsiderate neighbors slamming and banging, without making any noise of my own.Third, property management overcharges for everything and is super shady about trying to rip its residents off -- parking, pets, storage. They even increased the pet rent for my cat from $30 to $50 per pet on my lease renewal, a curious development since this charge is still listed as $30 on all of their current internet advertisements. Id certainly be interested to know if Batik is charging different prices for pet rent for different residents. Finally, the building is not set up with sufficient package lockers for the building. This wouldnt be a big deal except that the overflow packages are sent to the office, which has limited open hours, returns packages if they arent retrieved fast enough, and treats residents with severe attitude and annoyance any time they attempt to retrieve their packages. Ive actually had Batik staff roll their eyes and tell me I have no idea when I ask them if there are any packages delivered for me instead of getting up and looking. Again, paying over $2000 for a unit to which the simple act of receiving packages is an ordeal.... is ridiculous. In summary, for all of the reasons detailed above, Batik is not worth the price tag. If you can afford this, you can afford a better building with staff who at least attempts to provide polite customer service.

Units are nice, staff turnover is quite high for the past 2 years Ive been here though. Utilities are quite pricey compared to previous places Ive lived (my habits have not changed).
