Kind and efficient with good vehicles!
Never rented a car in so little time, I was in and out in less than about 5 minutes, and there was another guy in front before me when I came in. The guy I talked to was super nice and very efficient. Price was very good too (~25$ for the day for a compact), with no surprise fees after returning the car. Will come back no doubts!
I have never had a good car rental experience until today. Awesome service, flexibility, and convenience
This place was by far the most affordable place to rent a car in San Francisco. I also appreciated that nobody tried to upsell me on add-ons or insurance.
My favorite rental place. Owners are very friendly. Best rates. Well worth the trek out there. Only wish you could leave your own vehicle there...but I understand what a logistical nightmare that would be to staff.
The easiest time Ive ever had renting a car. I just called, made a reservation for a rental, walked in a few days later and picked up the car. Customer service was great. It was a great price even with the young driver fee. I would definitely rent from them again.
Dont be fooled by the name. You will get a decent vehicle at a decent price here. We had a Nissan Verso that had a couple of minor dints and scrapes but was otherwise perfect and did the job for us over 5 days in San Francisco. Staff were very helpful and explained everything concisely without being pushy on the extras.
Rent-A-Wreck in San Francisco is the best rental company out there. They go above and beyond in service. They’re friendly and willing to work with you. I’ve rented several vehicles from them and have never been dissatisfied.
Good experience. Inexpensive rate. Didnt nickle and dime me on little scratches on the car that are always there so didnt have to worry about taking tons of photos before hand. Highly recommend these guys.
I was a bit nervous before I rented here, but just because Id never heard of them before. My experience: the best rental experience Ive ever had in San Francisco. Period. I will 100% be renting from them every time Im in SF.The most difficult part of the entire process was...finding the building because it didnt show up properly in my Google Maps, but by looking at the street numbers, it was easy enough to find. And once I got there...it was the most low-stress, easy going, straight-forward process Ive ever had.The car was great - there was a dent on one panel (and, honestly, that just made driving in San Francisco that much less stressful). And it was really clean. The only charge you the amount for tolls, and you get the FasTrak price (no extra $15 administrative fees, and no hoping that if you register your credit card on the FasTrak websitebeforehand that you wont have to still hope your credit card gets charged rather than the rental cars FasTrak account and you STILL have to pay the $15 fee...Im looking at you, Fox).No uncomfortable upsells, and there really is a Shell station just down the street - with gas prices that are below the SF average.I wasnt sure if I was going to need my car for an extra day or not, so I asked if it would be a problem and what Id need to do, they just said - leave us a message on the machine if no one is there, and well just change your contract.I did, and they did.Seriously, the best car rental experience Ive had. What they say is what you get.Keep it within 150 miles of the rental location, understand there might be a dent or some scratches on the car, youll be charged a more-than-fair price for the tolls, and let them know if you have to make any changes to your rental contract.Perfect!
Fantastic experience. Affordable, friendly staff and convenient set up. The car was in great condition as well.
Such great people! They are super laid back but also very helpful and informative. After talking to many other rental companies that were rude and unhelpful we finally found these guys; my girlfriend and I are both just barely under 25 which makes renting a car very difficult especially when you want to have more then one driver on the contract. Their under 25 fee is only 5 dollars per driver per day which is much less then every other company that we talked to. They gave us a 2014 Hyundai Accent with less then 50,000 miles that ran perfect the whole trip. They ended up charging us even less then we originally expected. I rarely write reviews but I would seriously recommend this company to everyone and will rent from them in the future whenever I have the chance.
A great place for inexpensive car rentals with no hassle and friendly service. Despite the name, the cars are actually in good shape, but may have small scratches, etc. Ive been using Rent a Wreck for 14 years and always go back after trying another rental service.
Ive rented everything from 14 ft truck to a compact car. Its always easy, no hassles and they are very speedy! Dont rent at the airport rent from these guys!
Best place to go.that way you realy dont have to lock it .
Many options of vehicles large and small. Easy access
Very reasonable and great service. Nice cars to rent.
Great and efficient service; good quality rental, really easy to work with. Would work with them again next time we move.
Easy, no-wait and affordable. They didnt try to upsell us on stuff and everything was straightforward. Theres a Shell gas station to refill right down the street.
Great service, inexpensive car rentals without all the hidden fees. We took an economy car down to LA and back (5 days) for around $200.
I would seriously recommend using literally any other car rental company.I rented a car for one day to head out to the Napa Valley, which was a pretty straight forward, enjoyable experience. However, this was over ONE YEAR ago, and I am still reminded of what a terrible company I chose to deal with. For five months after this one day rental, my credit card was charged relatively small amounts from these guys which I did not notice on my statement right away. This added up to a total of $1367 in unauthorized charges. It took many phone calls to Amex, and multiple emails to rent a wreck to finally get this corrected. They did give me my money back eventually and a rather poor explanation of my account being confused with another (reassuring right?).I write this today, 15 months after this one day rental as I have just been charged another $129.87 on my current statement. Seemingly forever haunted by a dodgy car rental company in San Francisco...how I wish I just spent the extra $14 to get a car from Budget or Enterprise
Very helpful, very polite and really good prices. The cars are in a pretty good shape and the service is outstanding.
Great experience and it is affordable. Thanks
Rented for week in Sept. Good car, Great People.
Great for getting a car on a budget.
Decent rental under reasonable terms and cost
Helpful and excellent customer service
Only downside is that they dont have disable access
Always someone there to answer my calls and help me schedule a truck for whatever we need whether it be furniture moving etc.
So far this place is 👍
Commercial trucks and vans when you need them.
