Gym is always super clean. Other Gym goers are respectful to one another. Doing a great job coming back from COVID!!

Best value gym, great for the average person. If youre someone looking to seriously get into fitness, look elsewhere. Planet Fitness is missing some basic heavy lifting equipment, eg. dedicated bench press, squat rack, or anywhere to deadlift. The only barbells over 60lb are on the Smith machines

Not bad. The crowd meter helps. People are separated by designated machinery. Oof you go to use free weights you may be crowded. But not a bad experience overall.

Im a new PF member an been dissapointed in the tanning units shutting off before minutes are up on numerous occassions....Some units buttons dont work....Another issue thats paid for an included is fitness training ....Only available 2 days a week an the only day i could get there to set up a workout plan was Sunday an he was supposed to have my plan all written out come Monday for me an there was nothing there ...Not only for me but my daughters wasnt either.....

Went in to cancel my membership but it was put on hold 30 days later I am getting charged again so have to go back in to put it on hold again because it seems they do not want you to cancel your membership you have to make the cancelation of the memberships easier and stops siphoning money out of peoples bank accounts

For the value, I would say that it would be hard to beat. I mean come on...10 bucks a month for a basic membership. Realistically, if you are looking to get in shape they have all of the equipment that you need to accomplish this.The equipment is up to date, clean and all very good quality.The one down side that I would mention is if the only time that you have to workout is between 5-7 pm the place will be very busy.Fortunately I am able to workout mid morning and early afternoon so it is wide open.Also there motto is judgement free zone so you can workout comfortably.Just Do It !!)

I actually love PF. The variety, availability and cleanliness of the equipment is satisfactory. My only complaint is that for a 24 hour gym, they close awfully early; Friday at 9, and 7 on Saturday and Sunday. I work 6-6:45 on the weekends so going to the gym before or after my shift isn’t even an option which is upsetting.

Cheap membership, a lot of good machines, pretty clean and staff helps in anything you need. Only cons is no free weights, just dumbbells and only to 75 witch I think its enough. Lockers and showers are very clean, overall its it not bad for what you pay.

Planet Fitness of Amsterdam is a fraud...Only gym that I know that takes money out your bank account several times a month and takes an annual fee more than annually as well. My bank warned me before I signed my teenager up that Planet Fitness had a lot of complaints for this very reason. Good luck trying to cancel your membership-You will have to do a Stop Payment because this gym doesnt like to see you go.No Thanks...Ill stick with the local gym where I dont have to worry about being extorted

I have to say this is the first time in years, that I have stayed with the gym. Jamie is the best manager. She is always there to listen to what you have to say and try her best to help you out... If she cant help that day, she looks into and gets back to you. Jamie is like a mom to the gym. She always has a smile on her face and jokes around. When you are having a bad day she can pick you up. Jamie know that person inside and out. I could go on and all day about her and the help that she gives me.. YOU NEED SOMETHINGS she is your lady...

Great place. Love the new equipment. Some of the machines are dusty and so are the floors around those machines. The bathroom counters are alway wet or have water stains. The staff is wonderful. Overall its a nice place.

Great Gym, its bigger/more equipment than the typical planet fitness with lots of space to move around. This gym can obviously get crowded at peak hours (thats every planet fitness though), but you can still find available quipment even during the busiest times. Its an All around great gym.

From the parking lot to leaving overall impressed. Such a clean gym and what great staff. Ive been to a couple gyms and I have to say this one is my favorite around here. I recommend it to anyone

So far I am impressed by this chain gym. Very friendly&helpful staff, clean environment, other patrons just as friendly&helpful&always wiping down the machines. They have tanning, classes&personal time with the trainer, lots of machines&equipment!! No complaints about Planet Fitness.

I didnt want to cancel I actually liked the gym but now I will never walk in another PF again. Im sure its my fault because I didnt read all the fine print but 50 bucks to down grade my membership? A membership I havent been using for quite some time. You could of held on to me but I wasnt important enough for you. I guess there are plenty of other suckers out there. See ya!

Great place to workout. Its not a meat market and theres no muscle heads. Dont waste your money elsewhere.

The facility is larger than many and has all the equipment. Locker rooms are clean as are the tanning beds. Not sure why somebody commented about lazy staff as they are nearly always attentive or cleaning when I see them 2-4 times per week.

Good place to work out. You can get a workout done. You can work the basic muscle groups but if you are looking for a more specialized workout, there are freeweights or some calisthenics areas. Needs official pullup bars and more than one. The place is clean by using the spray and paper towels and each machine is in good condition and working order.

Very small and staff had their faces in their cell phones. Not clean at all. I was greeted by a sock laying by the front door when I entered. Staff member just grabbed my keytag, checked me in, and said “here”. Both were in their phones the whole time. Bathroom wasn’t very clean and neither was the facility. But no one cares and staff are too busy sitting on cell phones to notice. Bathroom had dirt from shoes all over the floor and remnants of paper towels and toilet paper. It’s similar to the Rotterdam PF but the Rotterdam one has more equipment and is bigger. Staff didn’t even acknowledge me when I left or say have a nice day. Still on their phones lol Management is lacking here

I wish I could give this place a 0 star review. I have never said that about another business. In less than a month I am beyond disgusted with this place.To start : I signed up online and was told I was getting a trial and I wouldn’t be charged until 5/1.Now when you sign up online you are asked to come into your “home” gym to grab your membership card as well as to get a tour of the gym and have any membership questions answered.I however, was barely greeted and I was given only my membership card. The next three visits same thing no outgoing customer service, no care for anyone who wasn’t 18 and flirty, no tour of the gym, no questions answered, so I reached out to corporate and my local store. I spoke to a woman named Jaime who is the manager at my local gym Amsterdam NY. She seemed eager to fix the dilemma. She set up an appointment for me to meet her and one of the fitness trainers for this past Tuesday (yesterday).However, I was called into work to cover someone’s 12 hour shift and couldn’t make the appointment. While I’m at work I happen to check my bank account, I’m showing a charge for Planet Fitness! The charge overdrafted my account (remember how I said in the beginning I wasn’t supposed to be charged until 5/1?) I call my bank we go through the usual they tell me to try to get it worked out with Plant Fitness. I call corporate and they immediately try to fix it but can not because it has to be fixed by the “home” gym. So I call the home gym. I get Jaime (the manager) on the phone and start telling her what’s going on only to be cut off and told that I’m being charged my monthly dues. When I try to explain further what information was given to me via the website, I was kindly hung up on.I call my bank back and let them know they can go ahead and file the claim.I’m over this gym. This is insane. Without us you do not have a business. I really wanted to give this place a chance, in spite of some of it’s horrible reviews. Don’t be like me, BELIEVE THE TERRIBLE REVIEWS!!! I will pay more than double to go to another gym. One that cares about their customers.

The gym is nice but environment is horrible the staff are a bunch of high school students that are rude and arrogant when you ask them questions 4 people at a desk and still completely useless. If you need to get in shape just be prepared to get dirty looks right when you walk in!!!

Your logo is “judgement free zone,” and “no egos,” etc. but women are allowed to work out in only sports bras and leggings? With no shirt? Come on! A lunk is described (by your company) as someone who wears a “body building tank top”...what about no shirt and just a bra? can girls be lunks too? And the managers/workers allow it! Seems like a double standard to me!

I will try to keep this as succinct and short as possible. I recently upgraded to a black card membership less than two weeks ago. I regretfully had to stop going to the Newburgh, NY Planet Fitness because I relocated to Amsterdam, NY for a new job. The service and attention that I received in the Newburgh location was always amazing and excellent. I was always greeted with a smile and a hello. If I had any questions at all, the staff was more than happy to help me. I loved my gym so much that I bought them munchkins and a thank you card before leaving Newburgh.Upon my first visit to the Amsterdam, NY PF, which was on Sunday, December 2nd, the staff member did not greet me at all when I checked in. I wasnt even acknowledged. The worker behind the counter didnt even glance my way since he was too busy chatting with a customer. When I went the second time, I was happy and felt hopeful when the worker behind the counter greeted me with a hello and a smile. Unfortunately, my third visit, which was yesterday, was not very pleasurable since I had a man rudely talking about me to his friend and how could I possibly read and use the elliptical at the same time. He made me extremely uncomfortable so I stared at him until he finally manned up and asked me in my face. I had a similar incident occur in the Newburgh PF and the staff took it very seriously. I didnt say anything this time because I knew deep down inside that they wouldnt care and that they would do absolutely nothing about it.The event that transpired tonight (Wednesday, December 5th) will make me never step into the Amsterdam Planet Fitness ever again. Like I mentioned before, I have a black card. I noticed that I was no longer accumulating points like I used to in the Newburgh PF so after checking in at approximately 7:00 PM, I kindly told the woman working behind the counter that I had a question about my card. She immediately retorted in a very rude way that she couldnt tell me anything regarding my membership since this wasnt my home gym. I was a bit taken back by her attitude and I immediately felt uncomfortable, not to mention completely unwelcomed. To make it even worse, she didnt believe me at all when I told her that I used to accumulate points at the Newburgh PF. Her words, verbatim, were no Planet Fitness does that. She was basically calling me a liar and at that point, I was disappointed, angry and saddened. I suffer from severe anxiety so going out to public places is extremely difficult for me. The way this worker treated me made me feel horrible. It was the complete opposite of the amazing, welcoming treatment I received in Newburgh. I even had to show past email receipts of the points I garnered at the Newburgh PF to prove that I wasnt lying.Thankfully, the manager of the gym (or at least the manager on duty at that time), Joe Wignot, was much kinder to me and he was at least professional with me; he explained to me that not every PF participates in the points program. If the rude, unprofessional woman working behind the counter had kindly said that to me, I wouldnt be writing this email. But the interaction I had with her was so horrible and negative that I ended up leaving the gym, crying. I have worked customer service for ten years and I have never, ever treated a customer in such a manner, no matter how I am feeling. Please keep in mind that I suffer from severe depression, anxiety and PTSD so achieving this feat is extremely difficult but one that I always accomplish.I was hoping to enjoy my workout at the Amsterdam PF despite waking up at 4:00 AM to get to work but after this horrid experience, I will have to go out of my way to go to a different PF. One that is more professional, respectful and has the common decency to treat all their clients right, no matter if that is their home gym or not. I am extremely disappointed in the Amsterdam PF and I hope for their sake that they hire more friendly, professional and respectful workers and create an environment that is welcoming, not hostile.

As far a the place goes its a decent place to work out..... But beware of the contracts they make it so that after ur year expires if u dnt personally go in and cancel ur membership they can keep billing u. I just got taken for 80 dollar because I didnt go in and cancel. Even tho I called them a week prior to my expiration to find out when it expired during that conversation I stated that I wasnt renewing. NEVER once was told I had to come in and sign a cancellation agreement. Just another shady way of doing buisness.

When I was leaving today, a newer girl with dyed hair told me “have a great day!” To which I replied “you too!” She probably did not hear me because what she did next was subtly ( except not really) say “oh have a good day, oh you have a great day too ! Why thank you !” Just flat out rude

I have been working out at this Planet Fitness for a while now (almost a yr, off and on). I find the people at the desk to be kind. They do say have a good day to people as well as hello. When they dont, it is typically because they are busy talking to another customer. Additionally, I dont need them to stroke my ego to feel good about myself on a daily basis.I have been in many gyms. I do find this to be a judgement-free zone and appreciate the fact that it is large, clean, and I have a sense of privacy while there.However, if I ever get to the point again where I am in very good physical shape, I may hv to leave. If I am hot while working out, I actually feel nautious. Additionally, like many people who workout, I get inspired to see the changes in my body and the pump I get while working out. If the policy is not to wear sports bras or a string tank top, I may hv to go to a diff gym.

Ive been a Black Card member for 5 years now . As of today I have been to 14 different Planet Fitness Gyms . Such a great workout everytime I go !

Thos gym is not for serious lifters or anyone wanting to get in shape. Its suppose to close at 7 on Saturdays but closed at 6 tonight unexpectedly because theres an inch of snow on the ground. Like come on this is New York. We should be used to operating bussinesses hours during snow fall by now. So that was a workout and day cut short. Plannet fitness has no free bench press when the Schenectady location has one. Why this is makes no sense to me. Also the dumbbells only go up to 75lbs so once you reach those you cannot progress anymore. I will be joining Alpin Haus Fitness very shortly.

Its nice depending on the time of day. Usually packed in late morning, later in the day is usually quite.

This gym is in a good spot, I shop before or after, I work out. The workers are very friendly.

Workers are soooo lazy, they should have beds instead of chairs their. The place is new and large. Cleanliness is always a problem. You have better luck finding sasquatch than trainer on the floor helping people...

Good place to work out. You her your moneys worth with the black card, but sometimes they dont wipe the tanning beds down as good as they should.

Monday through friday around 6:00pm the gym is close to full, but theres almost always at least one spot open on the machine of your choice. Its a nice thing to not have to wait, one of the main reasons why I had at one time quit gyms.Now while the main workout area is kept pretty clean and free of clutter, the locker rooms are a different story. The mens locker room usually has trash strewn about, with the worst of it being in the showering area. It wouldnt kill the staff to clean the showers out every few hours during the day, would it? Often times I feel I could actually be getting dirtier by just stepping into a shower, and that is not what a feeling you want when you go to clean up.My largest gripe however has to be with the weekend hours, where you will find the 24 hours sign (which will still be lit) to be very inaccurate. The Planet Fitness in Amsterdam closes at 7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, which is a rather early time to lock up since many businesses that are open on those days keep the lights on until 9:00pm. Is it because the gym is understaffed? I am unsure. But what I do know is that when you are getting out of work at 5:00pm in Albany, it makes things very difficult for you to get back in time for a short jog on the treadmill.Compared to other planet fitnesses Ive been to, this one is pretty large but not the largest. The staff are nice, but not the most motivated. The cleanliness is below average in some areas, and the hours during the weekend are strangely short. So while the Planet Fitness in Amsterdam is not a bad alternative to braving the cold of winter or rainy weather, Id still recommend you seek your exercise outside during the warmer sunny days.

This place has really gone down hill sonce Chris left. I dont know whats going on with the place but it seems like all the new manager does is run the employees like cleaning slaves. Ive never seen her clean a thing in that gym either! Also, would love to use the free fitness training but refuse to do so because they have a kid as a certified fitness trainer who is rude and nasty to employees and gym members. Why is a teenager working at a place like this when every time i see him, hea cussing someone out or throwing a fit bad mouthing the manager? Chris would never allow that...BRING CHRIS BACK!!!!!

The workers are the laziest people Ive ever seen working at a gym. Most are on their personal phones every time I walk in, and Im lucky I get a greeting or smile from certain ones. Why are they allowed to be on their phones at work? Theres been times the paper towels are empty or garbages are over flowing and they are on their cell phones ignoring it. Theres one female worker Ive literally never seen doing anything but be on her phone, sitting behind the desk. Ive read responses to complaints on here how management would love to sit down with you and talk about your concerns. I think the management and workers need a lesson on how to run a business, and that shouldnt be coming from customers. I am obviously not the one who is noticing your workers are not doing what they should be doing...so maybe its time to do something about it before many go elsewhere.

Buyer beware. Cardio equipment is regularly filthy, of poor quality, and uncomfortable. Staff is apathetic and unhelpful, and membership charges an absurd $58.00 to cancel a membership after receiving poor service. Do yourself a favor and go to the next gym, and dont get scammed by these crooks.

A large amount of equipment so no waiting for treadmills, bikes, etc. Helpful staff. No lunks is a nice policy. Could use free Wi-Fi for connected fitness apps and music streaming. Updated so they added Wi-Fi! Now if they only had a place for kids to chill while you work out.

Great gym, very large with a good variety of machines. The locker rooms and workout areas are clean and there is a large parking lot.
