Worth every penny. I usually hate paying for haircuts, as half the time I end up just going home and shaving my head afterwards. Not so for the cuts I get here. Every experience has been above my expectations, and I walk away actually thankful that I decided to put down the money. You wont regret putting $12 haircuts behind you. Beard trim is also on point.

I called today to find out if they take walk ins or if theyre appointment only. Their voicemail is either full, not accepting messages or not set up. So their business is not fully running and apparently no one there knows how the phone works or how to answer it. Seems this place is only useful if you want to learn how to NOT do your job and NOT run a successful business. In the mean time, other barbershop owners all over San Diego County are giving sidewalk haircuts and having conversations on the phone at the same time! So the owner of True Dumbfu- I mean Grit, is just full of s***, excuses, or both!

Just relocated from the east coast and I’m happy to say that I have found a barber shop that compares! Steven is great.

Very professional, clean and well kept. Barbers/stylist are extremely well mannered and friendly. Modestly priced, cant wait to go back, time and time again. Jones cut my hair, and will go back to him next time for sure.

True Grit is my goto spot for a Beard Trim and a straight razor shave (of my scalp). Jones is a BEARD WIZARD 🧙‍♂️! He shaped my beard exactly how I described and conveyed the way I wanted to grow it out, but clean it up. Usually it takes several days to weeks for my beard to find its shape again after a trimming, but not after DR JONES trimmed it up. Pix, the owner is also a great barber, but Jones is my new barber now, sorry buddy 😁

My usually barber (another shop) was full so was able to get a walk in with Dougie. Fantastic cut, good convo and great price. Best yet I went home and talked to my roommate who was raving about his cut and he had the same walk in situation with Dougie earlier in the week. Will be changing barbers to him now and doing it by appointment. Great spot great barber.

These guys are true Barbers in the traditional style. Got a Awesome flat top and a great shave! I would recommend these guys everytime for a great haircut!

Ive never had anyone in my life talk to me about my hair, but after I started using True Grit, I actually started receiving compliments on how nice my hair looked. Great haircuts at a great price plus its easy because theres a parking lot out front. The vibe inside feels like an old classic barbershop, and they always offer drinks. I highly recommend giving them a call or walking in.

Gave this place a try yesterday. Chris not only took the time to walk me through different haircut options, but also gave me very useful styling tips explaining the different products one could use. I felt welcome and taken care of and the haircut couldnt be better. I definitely recommend giving them a try. I dont usually get a shave so I cant comment on that. For a neat and clean haircut I highly recommend them. True Grit just became my barber of choice.

Guys in there were very friendly even offered me a beverage. Unfortunately the quality of haircut was very poor. For the duration of the entire haircut including him styling my hair I was turned to the other way in the chair. As a result I could not see the progress of the haircut in mirror at any point. He did not ask did I want my hair styled but still went ahead with it anyway with some gooey cream which felt unpleasant and had to be washed out immediately after. One side of my hair on top has clearly being shaved more so than the other. Simple symmetry surely wouldnt have been too hard. Although I asked to get little taken from the top the hair looks and feels exactly like it did before the haircut. Cherry on top was that he charged me 25 dollars. Never going there again nor would I recommend them, not even to my worst enemy.
