Cash only, but fantastic prices and the results speak for themselves. Four haircuts here so far and never one issue. This is my go-to haircut in OB.

Had a great clip with Holly after growing out my hair for months. It was a lot to work with! I left looking really really sharp. She listened to exactly what I wanted for my style. The protocols have things very clean, almost too clean as the poor girls are dousing the place after each cut on the patio. Felt safe and Holly was a peach. Definetly recommend to any dudes needing some length cut..

As a guy Id rather go to a barber.My neck was cut up here. Stung like crazy after for a couple days. Haircut was okay, definitely some inaccuracies than Im used to going to mens barbersLady was nice though and she did try. If youve been going to supercuts all this time then youll be fine here

Coming here every 3-4 weeks for over 2 years now. It’s one of the highlights of my month. They serve beer like a good barber shop, but they also do color and other salon work. All the staff do top-notch work. Great prices, too. So do yourself a favor and book an appointment!

I am from germany staying in OB right now and i always get my hair cut in the area i am staying in. i chose jays spot by the way the place look like and i can tell you that all the details in this store tells a different story. its worth a visit and the hair cut combined with a good talk! i also got to the chance to taste a great mug of IPA! good spot - better people!! thank you 1502!

Genius, magician... Whatever you want to call her, Julianna is fantastic! My hair is this thick wavy mess that I like to keep trimmed really short, and handling it successfully can be a real bear. Julianna was able to fit me in and give me exactly what I was looking for; shes incredibly good at what she does and was a real pleasure to chat with. Mix that with very reasonable prices for services and a very unique, beachy shop and how could you possibly go wrong? Highly recommend! Ill definitely be coming back :)

I am newer to the area and after my original spot closed down I figured Id given Sunset Clipps a try. What prompted this review is now that Ive been somewhere different, Im confident that I will not be returning. The first experience at Sunset Clipps was fine, the stylist was nice, knowledgeable, and experienced however when it came to working their computer software, she had no idea what she was doing. Apparently the owner switched over the software and this stylist was either uninformed or unprepared to use it come her next shift. All things aside, I can overlook that problem as it didnt play into the actual cutting of my hair. The cut overall was ok, nothing worth noting other than it was a basic cut and I was in and out in 30 minutes. The second visit to this establishment was again, ok, no real issues, I made an appointment online and everything went smoothly until it came time to pay and the credit method (likely 4 square device) for their cell phones was not working.The stylist had to have me go to a bank, take out cash and pay her that way. Again, the hair cut was decent but I cant get over the inconvenience of having a business operate in such a way where technology is such a problem. No backup way for your stylists to have a customer payer with a debit/credit card other than their phone... that or your stylist isnt aware of what to do other than to go run to a bank and take out money. Fortunately I wasnt in a rush and Im an easy going guy but some people might have handled that differently. For me personally, maybe I was just unfortunate with my experiences. In a pinch Id maybe go back and just be prepared to pay cash and be on my way.

Very disappointed with my last three cuts, and brought a friend there and J was in a rush to have a function with his daughter (hey, I understand about familia, but dont take the appointment, if youre going to do a 1/2 assed job). Just saying, Man.Not my fault if someone knows five people whether customer or friends with the same first name, and he tripped up due to not listening on the telephone. Perhaps, you shouldnt answer the telepone whilst cutting hair.That was what I went through THREE times.He was on the phone, making appointments whilst I was in the chair, and my hair was not done right, by the standards that I was accustomed to for 3 years. (Glad I didnt spend the money 8/5/16, b/c I would have been very disappointed anyway.Im disgusted by the owners argumentative stance.Owner: Figure this one out: The more you harangue customers, and ignore them, the honeymoon is over.Thanks for nothing and wasting MY TIME. Incidentally, my last hair cut was so atrocious that I thought I was at a haircutting school as a guineas pig.NO need to respond, youre in over your head. Later.By the way, I never walked out, I went to the ATM which was mentioned before my scheduled appointment (I checked the time on my phone and your clock is at least five minutes ahead. There was another person in the chair (which I understood), and I went next door to the Smoke Shop to kill ten minutes. Didnt matter to me, I desired a later appointment, not an earlier one! You had the wrong person with the same name as four others. Dont even attempt to put the blame on Me.I turned in an ATM card that was left there, was in a cheery mood, and then, nothing. Not even a goodbye, or please call later for an appointment. Completely RUDE.Not worth the money and attitude. Want attitude? Piss off. I hope that ATM card is returned.
