Dana was absolutely amazing! This was my first salon experience in San Diego and I am beyond pleased. She is so friendly and funny. My whole appointment was amazing- start to finish. The color is perfect and the cut is just what my hair needed after a year lf quarantine! I am so, so happy! This is my and my boys first time experience in Billys Haircut Place. He is little shy But the stylish Helena was GREAT at her work. She somehow managed to cop with him and finaly my son liked her and this salon. We will sure come again and they really deserve a 5 star.

Beware!!! They use cheap dye products and when you ask for a certain type of hair color or do they deny you and tell you what they wana do and talk in they language so you won’t understand!!! What a terrible hair place they clearly lack knowledge and DONT KNOW HOW TO TOUCH UP ROOTS WITHOUT DESTROYING THE balayage!!! What a joke and waste of money I won’t ever come here again. Please go to another place.

Got my haircut here today, my wife said these ladies were terrific, and that’s an understatement. All I can say is wow. This was the best haircut Ive had in San Diego, PERIOD. Sign in, grab a seat, and wait for one of the many terrific ladies to cut your hair. I was asked what I wanted, the lady took great care to ensure it was what I was looking for and gave me a great haircut. She took an obvious great amount of pride and squared away some bushy eyebrows as well. Bring some tip money because these folks are going to earn it.My wife goes here and Im glad that I stopped by. Recommend you not only shop local, but these folks are doing things absolutely right. Super customer service, very clean and unparalleled work!ONE OF THE BEST MILITARY CUTS I HAVE HAD. If you are on active duty skip the exchange lines and get a great haircut here.

Nice place for a good haircut. I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes and have never been there longer than 30 minutes. It’s usually a different stylists every time. The cost for men is $12. It’s contently located about 5 minutes west of the 15.

This place is fantastic! I came in for a haircut and a shampoo they did an excellent job. They cut how I wanted and theyre the nicest staff. My shampoo was very nice and relaxing. I loved how my haircut turn out. I highly recommend to everyone!

Seriously the best haircut I’ve had in a long time. She actually listened and did exactly what I asked her to do. I will be back for my regular trims. It was also only $36 for a wash and cut, so much less than most other places for much better quality.PS: They know how to cut for the “curly girl method”.

Id like to give 1 star for my haircut today, but thats unfair to all the other stylists who are good.I gave instructions and showed pictures. By the time I realized where she was cutting it was too late. I just let her finish what ever she was doing because it clearly wasnt what I asked for.Luckily hair grows back.

While staff was nice/friendly and they seem to be taking propersafety precautions, I wouldnt recommend going here if you are a woman with hair past her shoulders. Even though the window says $16 for womens haircut, I was told mine would be $55 after I said it was my first time in, because my hair was long and layered. This did not include a shampoo/conditioning, just some serum, which the hairstylist slathered on everywhere, including my roots. I imagine the upcharge was for the amount of time spent, which was excessive compared to other places Ive been. Also, while I was getting my cut, I overheard another stylist tell another client that her cut would be $35 because of Covid. I get that this pandemic has taken a toll on small businesses, but it has been hard on families too - the least this Place could do is put a noticeable sign up saying there is a Covid upcharge more than doubling the advertised prices. Arbitrary assigning of prices on the fly does not seem like an proper business practice to me.

My husband is usually picky. But overall it was a great experience. His hair is very hard to work with but the staff here was able to handle it very well. You can tell hes got plenty of experiences and can adapt to any type of hair and style. Im very happy they were able to fit him in!

Me and my boyfriend came here the other day so he can have a haircut! I think he really like it! He said that the guy that cut his hair was so talented and he has great eyes! The guy know which hairstyle fit my boyfriends face the most! Highly recommend

I really had my color done here and I would say that I was a little bit nervous but thanks to the staff here they changed all of that! They are simply amazing! The way they listen to what I was wanting and then explaining everything through me to what they were doing to my hair! My hair came out perfect exactly how I wanted it!

L I want to warn anyone that is thinking of getting a haircut at this place because I had the worst haircut in my life! I am in my mid fifties and had my haircut for many years by different places but this place has been my worst experience ever for a haircut. I was given to a very green hair stylist that just ruined my hair by trying to fix her mistakes throughout my haircut. Finally I had to stop her from continuing and asked for her manager. The manager try to fix my hair but then realized it was to late to do anything but wear a skin head look? That was her first suggestion, then her next brilliant suggestion was to wear my hair this way until the shorter area grew out. Lastly, I was not offered any compensation but charged full price. I strongly suggest any other place to get your hair cut but avoid Billys Haircut of horrors!

Although the staff is very friendly, I had a terrible experience there. I clearly said that I want my sides and back short, but keep the top and front for a natural looking. However, the woman, never used scissors, there just trimmed my hair way too short and only left not even half inch on the top. Now I have to live with this terrible hair style for at least a month.

HORRIFIC Haircut Experience!My mother LOVES this place, and she always goes to one stylist. I went to the same stylist and asked for layers and bangs. I got my layers but I noticed that she was finishing up and my bangs had not been touched.She finished and I paid... then told my mom about the weird experience. She told me that I should go back, so I did. I told the stylist that she forgot to give me bangs and she told me to take a seat and grab some hair where I wanted my bangs to be... while she worked on another customer.I was getting a funny feeling, but I parted my hair at the front as neat as possible. Then the stylist comes over with straight scissors, takes the hair chunk and SNIPS STRAIGHT ACROSS. She patted my shoulder and sent me on my way.Great for generic mens haircuts but not for womens styles. You get what you pay for.

Ive been going here for about a year every week now. No problems up until about a month ago. 3 out of 4 of the last times have been terrible cuts. No idea why the sudden change, but its like they dont know how to fade hair anymore. If you arent in the military this may not be an issue though. Every time theyve messed up my hair I explain to them what Id like then to do to correct it but they always fail to. If someone asks for a fade and the person cutting their hair has no idea what to do they should tell them rather than screw it up. Incompetent hair cutters, on top of the fact that a lot of the girls working there barely speak English well enough to communicate thoroughly.

I dont appreciate being gawked at by staff while Im getting my hair cut. I also dont appreciate my stylist telling me Ill look like a boy and refusing to give me a short cut.I asked for the back and sides done, she trimmed the sides a bit, buzzed the back into a sort of shelflike thing and started cutting my cowlick rather than wet and comb it out.They also dont take cards; its cash or check only. Theres no way to know this until you get to the register. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Spend a little more and get a haircut you dont have to wear a hat over.

Asian females that dont know how to cut hair. They ask how you want it cut, then totally disregard your answer. They just slap an adapter on a clipper then run across your scalp. NOT a real barber shop!
