They’re open kinda late which is a lifesaver, great atmosphere, amazing quality of work, and the entire crew is top notch. Best haircut I’ve gotten in a very long time.

Excellent experience absolutely a 5 star barbershop. Savan was super chill, so friendly. He did such a good job. They finish with the nice neck shave here which most places are skimping on. Highly recommend. They even have beer in the fridge! Loved it here.

They have re-opened following the stay at home orders being lifted. Everyone there does a great job cutting hair. They also have taken plenty of pandemic precautions and are being diligent and safe.Excellent barber shop!

Barbers are excellent at work! Got a really good fade going for myself, very lite on the pockets too.Would have given 5 stars if not for the for the long wait times. You have to physically sign-in in a sheet, no over the call appointments. But good thing is its open till midnight.

Had my hair cut here before, great place. Tried to go back again today, listed as open until 5. At 3:15 when I went in. All but 1 barber had left, and the one there was on his last cut of the day. If you’re not open until 5, don’t list that you are.

Great place. I have had two different barbers do my hair. Both did a really good job. The haircuts I have gotten there are worth the price! They also have nicely adapted there space because of COVID-19.

Go support a local business. It is a great place and experience. I go two or three times a month. My schedule also forces me to get my haircuts late as hell. They have always been professional, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. All the barbers are experienced and well trained/educated when it comes to cutting your hair. They work with you and help you sculpt that next great cut and style youve been looking for. Its cash only so stop at the atm first. It also has a great aesthetic with antiques, that they still use I might add (the shaving cream dispenser is my favorite). This contributes to the overall vibe and environment that the place cultures. The feel of a classic barber shop complete with banter amongst customers and employees. This is all headed by the head honcho. Go once, you cant miss him. Great guy with great skills. The best place Ive ever gotten my haircut. A place you dont mind spending an hour plus relaxing. Plus a free beer while you wait. This whole experience is topped off with my favorite part, the no cellphone rule. Which helps people focus and engage with each other. People have face to face interpersonal interactions. Something thats becoming rare in todays world.

Finding a good barber is difficult. I was visiting and through a Google search found Barber Side. The crew there was incredibly professional yet down to earth. Each barber was talented in his own way and not a single customer left with a complaint. I highly recommend.

Old School barber shop with great folk, superb haircuts, relaxed vibe, and an attention to detail second to none. It may seem chill, and it should, but they have the experience on lock. You learn about your head from a third party, straight up, no BS, and they have a plan for you immediately. You will leave feeling much better than when you got there, and isnt that the point? Great service but be prepared to wait this place is super popular and trendy and very very busy. I thought how convenient theyre open until midnight do i went at 10pm unbelievable!!! There was still a line and 30 min wait. But worth it!

The barbers make you feel like family every single time you arrive, they care about the craft, and the prices are reasonable. The shop feels like a man cave, as a real barber shop should. I been here a few times. Every barber here gives a great cut. Really nice and fun people. Each time I have gone in they are attentive in deciding how to cut your hair. If I feel the wait might be long I will sign in and come back later, they are pretty flexible.

Best cuts in all of San Diego. Dino especially never fails to satisfy the highest of expectations, but every barber there is top notch and wont disappoint. At 20 bucks a cut, the price is higher than some cheaper shops, but the finished product is well worth it. Can be busy at times if you dont have an appointment, especially Saturday morning.

Ive been going here for about five / six years now, with a few other side barbers when I lived in North county or was out of state for awhile. Cant say nothing but great things about the guys who work here.

Great 80s rock on the radio, lots of interesting memorabilia on the walls, interesting conversations. Not a big place but they do a good job keeping the flow in and out.I had a great haircut there yesterday by the business owner. He assured me that if he is busy next time I come in, all the other barbers have the same high skill level. Wow! I will come back in three weeks and hopefully have the same great experience.

Place is chill have gotten many good cuts from many different barbers but this last guy just messed it up BIG TIME. I just asked for a fade and was left looking like Lloyd from Dum and Dumber, he offered me a free haircut next time. Why would I get another messed up haircut? Disappointed

First time in shop. Sat in Fadinchair. Worst hair cut in my 44 year old life. Should have known as he really didn’t seem like he was listening as I explained what I wanted. So bad, couldn’t be fixed at all.I saw some good haircuts while there. So not whole shop. If you have curly hair, avoid completely. And make them really listen to what you want.Will wear a hat for 2 months

I was there for 45 minutes with about 8 people in front of me waiting in the chairs. After 45 minutes not a single one of us had been seen while a continuous stream of men, who were not on the list, or even waiting for a haircut in the chairs, simply walked in from outside, sat down, and skipped ahead of everyone there. This happened at least 10 times. I asked one of the barbers if it was still first come first serve. He said, yeah. Well why hasnt anyone from the sheet been seen or crossed off yet? Well (flips through the sheets) these people were seen. Ok, that still doesnt explain why me and the same guys Ive been sitting here for 45 minutes with havent moved (all of the chairs were full now, about 12 people deep) If you dont want to wait then you can leave. Ok. So I did, and thats the last time I will be visiting this establishment. Ive lived 2 blocks down the street for years, I really wanted to like this place but out of the 6 or so times Ive been here about 2 of them has been pleasant. Do yourself a favor and go across to Adams Ave barbers or dinks down the street. These guys are clowns.

I feel like one dapper son-of-a-gun at this classic barbershop. Their beers are cold, their sense of humor is hilarious, and their cuts are for the pros. Lately, the place is getting more and more packed, which makes me wish they took reservations. But I get the appeal of a walk-ins-only sort of place. Five enthusiastic stars, gentlemen.

Found this place not long after I moved here a year ago, and Im glad I did. It is hard to find places like this in my hometown but what a cool spot to get a fresh cut. The walls are lined with cool kitschy memorabilia, the barbers are nice and detailed oriented. There is also a fridge with a free drink per customer.

This place is right on Adams ave but you can almost miss it if you’re not looking for it. My girlfriend goes here and sees Dino. She really loves it! She had a different spot before. She liked it as well but they were charging her $25 just to shave her undercut! This spot is charging $12 and gives free beer. Let’s just say she won’t be returning to her previous place. Lol.

Absolutely the best barbershop in San Diego. Everyone there does a great job. Dont think Ive been to any barber in there that doesnt hold themselves to an extremely high standard. To all the people that say the hate the long wait times, its because they dont want to rush on any of the cuts or have a time limit. What I normally do is go in, write my name down and then go get some lunch. By the time Im back I wait maybe 15 minutes. This will definitely be my only barbershop in SD.

I see why the reviews are so high. Its not just the complementary beer and soda, or the cool throw back theme of and old tyme babershop, it is the exemplary attention to detail and skill of the barbers. I had the best haircut Ive ever gotten. Ive paid many times more for a cut and shave from trendy places and they did not hold a candle to barberside. Theyre worth every penny.

This place is pretty dope. Im a college student who has been described as one who loves his hair like a child. All through high school I had the same guy cut my hair, so I when I got to San Diego, I was not about to go to Supercuts or drop $50 a great haircut--you know how it is out here ballin on a budget. I looked around the Yelp reviews and decided Id try this place, but didnt want to wait in the 2-3 hour weekend lines that fans of Barberside described in their reviews. I thought after work at 5pm on a Tuesday would be fine, but when I showed up, there were literally 15 people in line and so they were booked until closing. I was bummed, and thought to myself if they really get this many customers they must be focused on getting people in and out the door, not so much spending time on giving me a great haircut. A few days later two friends and I went back, and we all were able to get in the chair in about 30 minutes after enjoying our complementary cold beer. If there is one rule to remember when trying new businesses, whether it be restaurants or barbers, FOLLOW THE LINES! If a ton of people are always going there, it must be pretty damn good. Im glad I didnt decide to pass on this place, because its awesome. This guy Marvin, with the boss mustache, youve probably heard about in the reviews by now, or seen being interviewed in the CBS news channel 8 video about this place, spent about 45 minutes cutting my hair to perfection. Id never had the edges of my hair cleaned up with a straight razor, that was pretty cool and felt great. This place is a totally unique haircutting experience, go there with a few buddies, youll have a great time and will most definitely be going back. You should go there with a good idea of what kind of cut you want, and if youre trying something totally new dont worry, they stop every step of the way to ask you what you want and give you a mirror to examine what they have already done. I didnt know what kind of length I was going to like the sides with my new hardline-parted pompadour type cut, Marvin had no problem taking the extra 5-10 minutes to cut a little bit off at a time until I had exactly what I wanted. These guys know how to deal with your hair and cowlicks to make you look great. They only take cash, the haircut is $16, so just give your guy a $20 and youre set.
