My husband stopped in for a haircut while we were visiting SD. The shop’s vibe is awesome. All the barbers were super welcoming and kind. Charmie, who did my husband’s haircut, was awesome. I think it’s the best haircut my husband’s ever had! And bonus points for being able to book the service right through Google maps.

Oscar hooked me up with one of the best burst tapers I’ve ever had. Super chill environment and music was on point! Next time I’m in San Diego I’ll be back.

New to San Diego, I have a barber back home Ive been going to for years so I was nervous about finding a good barbershop out here, but hit the jackpot with Monarch. Got cut by Chris couole weeks back, and today by Oscar. Both times they killed it. Super chill barbers in there. Game changer is being able to make your appointment online right with google. Absolutely reccomend.

Was in town and decided to check out this little barbershop; was not disappointed at all. Cody gave me the exactly what I asked for, yet with so much attention to detail. Most folks have trouble with the line I request on my left side, but he had no problem doing that, and even gave it a clean cut look. Sure, you’re paying a little extra but you will be attended to & well taken care of. Hope to be in town again sometime soon.

Had a really nice vibe, Monarchs were kings and queens, and you truly feel like one when you leave here. I didnt drink while here, but there was plenty, and they looked like medium to high quality stuff. The music was really laid back too, all around great place to get a hair cut.

Great environment and really good service

My last haircut was in Seattle back in February 2020. We moved here beginning of March and once lock down hit SD, goodbye haircut. My hair got out of control and when I heard that barbershops were opening up last week, I jumped on the first available appointment at Monarch. I heavily rely on photos and reviews from previous customers and this place was highly rated. The online booking system was seamless and once I arrived to my appointment, Chris met me outside on time. This shop is professional and clean. Chris met and exceeded my expectations in terms of the hairstyle I was looking for. He took the time to cut with precision. The only thing that I was confused about was the reconfirmation email I received from Google saying that I had to call the shop to confirm my appointment. I tried calling and the phone was off the hook. I figured it was a minor glitch in the system and ignored it. I still got my haircut in the end!

My father is very picky it comes to a barbershop, but this barbershop exceeded his expectations! He was so satisfied with their service, they even gave him a discount! This barbershop needs to be known by many!

I cant believe that the owner of the barbershop was charging me 70 dollar haircut. And I was like mind blowing, way to much money.

Easily the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I have been getting my hair cut by Chris for almost two years now and his attention to detail is off the charts. Awesome vibe, great music, drinks are aplenty. PS4 for when you’re waiting or there’s usually a classic boxing match on TV. Very glad I stumbled upon this place one day after work when I was desperate for a haircut in a new city. Sadly, I am moving and will need to find a new barber, but will always make sure to schedule an appointment here when I know I am coming into town. You’ll be very glad you spent the time and money to get a quality cut at Monarch.

Monarch Barber shop is one of these coolest shops around. The moment you walk in everyone greets you. It’s inviting. The style of the place is also really slick, black and white stripe wallpaper, gold framed pictures, comfy waiting area. Feels like somewhere the rat pack would hang out. The barbers are professional, friendly and experts in their field. I’ve trusted Cory with my hair for many years now. If you need a cut I would highly recommend Monarch and the excellent people that run and run it.

Being new in town, we all know how it is finding a new barber. I called in and Cody got my appointment set up. The atmosphere is awesome and the cut was phenomenal. It’s safe to say I have found a barber i will continue to bring business to. Shout out to Cody for being friendly, professional, and accommodating.

Did not listen to what I said. Easily cut way too much hair off, asked for about half an inch the barber took closer to 3. Just extremely upset with this haircut.

The guy told me honestly he doesnt do the kind of haircut I want. That it was too edgy for him. I appreciate his honesty, but he was closed from 2 to 3, so I waited an hour to turn around and find another place...

Walked in, the place was full, except for the front desk guy. He offered me a cool beverage and sat me down. 20 minutes later walked out feeling refreshed. Very nice and polite folks here.

The cuts are great, they do exactly what ask, and they make sure you work up to what youre looking for. Everyone is extremely inviting, fun to chat with, and ensures youre never thirsty.
