If you are looking for an affordable apartment in San Diego, I highly recommend The Palms. While the neighborhood is not the best, if this is your budget-range, The Palms definitely offers you the best value. I cant praise the management enough....they came to fix my clogged sink ON THANKSGIVING!!!! They arrived almost immediately. Good luck getting service like that from a big fancy corporate building. Likewise, they showed a lot of flexibility with allowing me to have an outdoor-only cat (and not increasing my rent). The fixtures in my apartment were all brand new and professionally-installed (no Mickey Mouse work, no old faucets or ancient toilet). The building is also at the end of a dead end street, which meant it was very quiet. There is a great brand new park right behind the building that my daughter loved playing at. The on-site manager once let my babysitter into my apartment when I forgot to leave her a spare key--again, good luck getting some big corporate building to do that on-the-spot. BUT most of all what really went above and beyond was the manager helping me move my couch up to my third floor apartment and just a ton of other things that someone who is more like a neighbor than an apartment manager would do. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Love the location but to pricey.
