I have volunteered many times and have witnessed first hand, The morning staff and the quality of care that they provide is amazing. They go out of their way to care for the residents and make they feel at home and cared for. I do recommend that this is a great assisted living place for our love ones.

I visited this facility last Summer and still on my mind. It is a lovely community that has a lot of charm. It is not a fancy place by any means, but it is so warm and welcoming that it does make you feel comfortable. I looked at apartments, which are not bad at all. Of course, the renovated ones look much nicer. I noticed they had a big pool party with food and music, which was nice to see everyone having so much fun. This is the place I would like to go when I retire.

I love this community! Michael, Susan and Karolina are amazing and so helpful. They provide excellent service and care to each of their residents. Michael is a hands on executive director and is always doing stuff to make the community better for residents and staff.

I am looking for an honest culture and a happy place with amenities in the area, and lot to do. I am at an early retirement age. Also, Im looking for a communicative staff who is looking out for my parents best interests and desires, even if not with them, but instead to find the place they would be most happy and secure.

Me and my wife have been living at New forest estates for a little over two months at this point. I worked closely with Susan and Michael before moving in and they were thorough, caring and committed. All of the promises they made me regarding the services they offer, the flavorful food, the friendly residents and their commitment to the residents have been kept. Michael keeps an open door all day long so I go visit with him, talk to him about anything and he never rushes me. My wife and I are thankful to Susan and her team, they make us feel cared for. a very different feeling from where we were living before that claimed to care for their veterans. Most of the men here are veterans like me and I like that because we share stories and drink at the happy hours. Best of all They let me move in with my dogs in a apartment that is a couple of steps away from the court yard. Thanks for treating us well and for keeping your word. I recommend this place to all my friends and some have already moved in here. This is home until the end.

Ive visited the facility several times. Each time Ive left feeling the warmth and compassion from the staff. The facility is beautiful and the residents seem to be very happy.I recommend New Forest Estates for the next level of care for your loved ones needing independent or assisted living.

We have provided personal care for dozens of residents at Newforest and am always impressed with the smiling resident faces. They are always very social and seem to enjoy their home. I hear positive comments all the time during our interactions. The staff is very caring and always looking for ways to improve their service. They truly value the positive feedback.

My grandmother is a new resident here and had an emergency around 1:30 am. After speaking with her, I called the front desk and was greeted by DMario. I informed him of the situation and he assured me hed check on my grandmother immediately. I returned a call to my grandmother and within a minute of my previous call DMario was at her door. He was courteous and very professional in helping her remedy her issue. He told me that hed monitor her throughout the night and would inform me at his shifts end with an update. At 6 am he called me and relayed all the necessary information about the rest of her night. On behalf of myself, my grandmother and my family, I thank DMario for his outstanding work and dedication to the residents.

My mother has been living here for 6 months. The interaction she has with the staff and residents has helped imrpove her health. Everyone knows her name and treats her like family. I visit her multiple times a week and I always show up unannounced, much to my surprise everyone always seems to be on their A game. In the evenings, Brandie goes above and beyond in her role as concierge. I have seen her helping residents, cleaning the front area, taking food to people and she always offers to help me with things that I bring for mother. Her actions inspired me to write this review. Michael Rivera is a compassionate leader and he has established a team who is worthy of my respect. I recommend newforest to anyone who is looking for dependability and honesty.

I worked at Newforest Estates as a concierge. It was a very rewarding experience! I became very attached to the residents, their families and pets. I actually enjoyed going to work. I will never forget the memories, the great conversations and the lessons Ive learned at my time at Newforest Estates. :)

I felt blessed to find New Forest for my mom and I still do. It is a happy, homey, safe and welcoming environment and my mom feels content and peaceful for the first time in many years. She has only been there for a few weeks in the independent living, she is adjusting very well and the staff has met every need she has had.

Even before my parents got there, Susan Maddox had been helpful with answering our questions, showing us around, and explaining everything to us. The director Michael Rivera was also involved from the beginning, helping to clarify services and amenities, and also taking the time to show us around and accomodating our parents unique needs. He has continued to be involved with helping my parents and our family adjust in every way possible. All of the staff working for New Forest--front desk receptionists, dining room staff, etc, have been very pleasant and accomodating as well; they all appear to have a genuine concern for my parents safety and well being. Other agency professionals from Amada, Legacy and N&J, that work closely with the facility and have offices there have gone out of their way to help us in every way possible. The communication has remained consistent, the facility is clean and peaceful, and I am constantly reassured by everyone that my parents are doing well and getting what they need. Any concerns or questions have been addressed with patience and professionalism every time. Highly recommended :-)

Newforest Estates has been newly renovated and is beautiful. It is a great place and many of our veterans call it home. The Executive Director, Randy Stevens, and his team are sensitive and caring towards all their residents. I would recommend it to anyone.

We first met Michael A. Rivera while touring NewForest Estates in October 2016. What jumped out at you when we met Michael was his enthusiasm and energy. He seemed to know every resident on a first name basis. They brightened up when they saw him, always ready to tease and encourage him as much as he encourages them!! He truly loves his job and loves the residents. Im very pleased to work with Michael. He has helped us most recently in picking a rehab facility for my mother after a fall. I can trust him and his judgement.

I just started working at New Forest a week a go as Executive Chef and I can tell you they have one of best management team that any other community in San Antonio. Proud to work with them.

Im an employee with newforest Estates and new to the industry itself, but i can say that all of the staff and management really care and take pride in what they do and treat the residence as if they were family. I Love coming to work everyday and feeling the joy and satisfaction of helping our residents. The owners also have invested a lot of money in renovations and the property looks amazing.

July 21, 2016.New Forest Estates is recently and still undergoing a renovation. What has been done so far looks great, nice improvements over the 1 1/2 years my mom has been here. The rooms are nicely done----simple as you would expect. Most of the staff here is very friendly and nice.The meals are the weak link here from day one and continue to be. Here is a simple question, why cant they use fresh potatoes for mashed potatoes? Twice now they have been served and they taste like cardboard. The vegetables are so overcooked, the other night the broccoli was disintegrated---total mush. Today the carrots where mash-able they were so soft. Yes, things have to be cooked more than at you would do at home, but this is really sad. Everything came with a some what coarse grind of black pepper. Pork loin today was not braised as advertised, but dry, roasted pork loin. Bean soup was served in a cup, that was sitting on a cart, not being kept warm. It was cool at best, however seasoned well. These issues could easily be corrected. How about if Randy started dining everyday with the residents and eating the food, he is the one in charge, he is the General Manager?? Just a suggestion in hopes of making it better and not just cheap food.

I have been working for this company for a while now, and out of all the wonderful things I can say is that when I come to work its not really a job . I enjoy coming in everyday to be with the super friendly staff and the even more friendly residents who live here!!!

This place is deceiving. Lets start by talking about the conditions of the place. Yes the renovations add appeal to the place but for the residence the constant maintenance issues are a burden. A/C units are constantly causing issues weather it be that they dont work or they are leaking and causing damage to the residents apartment and the toilet issues never stop. The residents are always told that maintenance will get on it but that sometimes takes days. And God forbid you have an issue on the weekend because youll be stuck till Monday. There are constant leaks through out the buildings and all the staff ever seem to do is put a wet floor sign over the puddles. My aunt is now living there and it wont be long before she is yet another one of their many move outs. Her neighbors constantly share their stories of dissatisfaction with this place. The food is not the best. A former employee who happens to be an associate of mine shared with me that the kitchen has roaches, gnats, and improperly stored food. Some residents have even shared that they often get sick after eating meals there. The rent rates have gone up due to the renovation and Randy seems to care nothing about the issues as long as he knows his job is secure and the apartments are filled. A former resident was threatened by management to have the police called on him because he was passing out the number to the Pacifica corporate office to other concerned residents. I witnessed a resident fall during meal time due to sitting on a chair that had a broken wheel on the leg. Lucky for them he didnt hold them responsible. The staff is nice but again could care less about the residents opinions and feelings. This is a place that paints a beautiful picture but as soon as you sign a lease, you see whats really going on. I can not wait to get my aunt out of this place. I am willing to pay more money at another place that cares about her as a PAYING resident. PLEASE BE WARNED! If you love your loved one spare them the headache and worry.

The Staff is very friendly and welcoming and the place is very clean. Every time I go in the residents are very happy and enjoying life.

Came with my friend Helen today to visit her parents. When Helen asked her dad where the CD player that she bought him for his birthday was, he said it Disappeared. Other elderly people were complaining that they werent given any meat for their lunch, even though fish was on the menu . Thirdly, one old guy was complaining that he hasnt gotten his meds in a day or 2. Noticing alot of new staff here, seems like Newforrest is hiring the cheapest of the cheap, thats why the employees have to steal cheap stuff like CD players and meat out if the kitchen . Definitely do not recommend this place. Im reporting the theft to SAPD, and good NG to find out who to report the general conditions to.

I am an employee of Pacifica at NewForest Estates and I have been with the company for almost 2 years. I will speak on behalf of my own experience and my team. I am new to this industry and working with seniors in general. So, I was a bit nervous making the transition to a senior retirement community. I am extremely happy that I did! Being able to serve our residents has been such a gratifying experience. I have gained so much knowledge while working for Pacifica. They provide great resources and support from the corporate level down to us at the property level so that even though they are located in San Diego, CA, we never really feel alone. What I like the most about working here is the people...that goes for all of our wonderful residents, management team and team members!!! My front desk team does a fantastic job with customer service and I always enjoy watching or hearing them interact with our residents in a positive way. My team does a great job at working together and making sure our residents are accounted for on a daily basis. I appreciate all of their hard work along with all the other employees that go above and beyond for our residents. It is what makes us successful and fulfilled at the end of the day. Also, since Ive been working here, it has made me more aware of alzheimers disease and how the number of those being affected by this disease keeps growing astronomically. This really hits home for me because we may all get there some day and so I feel it is only right to find ways to contribute in some way. I make it a point to create fundraisers throughout the year to support the Alzheimers Association along with the help from my co-workers and our residents. We have alot of fun raising money together and wow...I cant even describe the level of satisfaction we get for making a contribution! I love working at NewForest Estates and I hope that it continues to be my home away from home!
