Friendly staff, awesome service crew when the time comes and the worst parking lot Ive ever had to deal with, with around 18 side by side, they have 10 reserved, and even smaller sections of 10 spots has 8 reserved. Only parking is on the outside where youd assume guest parking would be. 10/10 dont recommend the parking lot design.
Crooks. Stole our deposit then sent our $75 remainder to collections even though we had evidence that it was fraud. DONT MOVE HERE.
I moved into this apartment in July of 2020 and the service here has been terrible, they are nice to your face but when they fail at repairing the issue they say its fixed and hope you dont follow up. If you do follow up they take no responsibility and choose to say The previous tenant never had a problem. Each time I needed help with plumbing issues they took every route possible to avoid fixing the real problem, their calcium ridden drainage pipes. They even went as far as to blame me for their buildings poor drainage when each time the crew came to work they assured me that it could be my neighbors fault. My toilet overflows on its own and if im lucky it fills my tub with sewage water instead of ending up all over my floor. The drainage system is shared by every tenant below me in the building and each time the maintenance crew came they would blame it on me or my neighbor who shares my wall. I knew something was serious when my neighbors apartment completely flooded, I was lucky my adjoining wall didnt get soaked. By this time I got to know each worker because whenever my neighbor called in a service call they would come to my apt to cut into my wall. I have made 3 service calls personally, but each time the neighbor called one in they had to enter my apartment as well. After the apartment realized they couldnt fix it through regular methods they wrongfully accused me of shoveling litter into the drains. I dont even have a cat and none of the workers had seen a cat this whole time. My girlfriends roof fell in after the Polar Vortex hit san antonio so she moved in with me for 3 days, her cat was moved out asap. The maintenance told them I had a cat so they assumed I was at fault, I paid the fine to move the repairs along in good faith but after a camera man showed up proving I wasnt putting litter in the line they continued to attack me on the issue. Coincidentally this all happened after I threatened to write a review on their horrible customer service. They hired a plumber with a camera to check the drain line and found no cat litter, in fact, their pipes have not been treated for calcium buildup in 23 years or so according to the third party plumber. They had a serious calcium buildup in the pipes and charged me 300 dollars for unauthorized pet damages because they ASSUMED I was putting litter in the drain after one of their crew members lied about finding litter. She said she assumed litter was in the drain while also saying she found litter in the drain. So which is it? These people dont even know their own contracts and didnt walk me through the apartment to sign off on the condition before signing the lease. Dont assume they care about you after you sign the lease, take pictures of everything and get a plumber to check the drains first. Who knows what you might be blamed for after entering the unit.Long story short they say repairs are fixed when they are arent. They couldnt stop my tub from filling with sewage water and have been slow to fix most of my problems in the 8 months Ive lived here, it took them 2 months just to update my cell phone number for gate entry. Theyre inept at simple tasks and when the job becomes too expensive they blame their tenants with outrageous claims to avoid responsibility. Dont move here.P.s. I have proof they didnt find litter in my drain. Watched the camera footage personally and heard the plumbers talk about calcium buildup nonstop. Not once did any maintenence worker of theirs or the third party plumber mention cat litter. Dont believe her copy and paste style of customer service. And she still hasnt read the contract regarding unauthorized pet payment of 300 dollars to cover any unforeseen damages. I paid it even though the damages had nothing to do with the cat that was here for a few days but she insists on misinterpreting her contract while saying Im not responsible for damages. She refuses to apologize even though I told her I would not write a review if she wrote an email absolving me of damages, I even told her I dont want the $300 back.
This is the worst place to live. They claim to be a gated community but cars would come and go night and day without a clicker. Extremely poor management, never the same people in the office and nothing is documented so if you move in make sure you save everything. Extremely dirty. Sticky berries on the ground and NEVER cleaned so your tracking sticky berries in your apartment and then they want to charge you to clean the rug and not to mention the dog and bird poop everywhere. Large dogs off the leash running around and I was almost mauled by a huge dog and management was not compassionate at all!!!! During COVID they were not allowing tenants in the main office at all but if we had a maintenance issue three men at a time came in the apartment with NO masks on and when I complained about it they made fun of me and laughed about it. Extremely unprofessional!!! The worst place to live. I never felt clean or safe in my apartment. Please stay away.
Half the stuff in my apartment doesn’t even my work and I’ve placed about 15 work orders since I moved in back in December and also it seems like the leasing staff in the office are completely new. Not the same sweet ladies I remember.. shame and first impressions are a BIG ONE
Ive lived here for about 2 months now. I love the place, the grounds are beautiful, the pool and workout room, etc.. its quiet, and very upscale. The price for what Im getting is on par for what I would accept. I havent dealt with management much or the moving out experience a lot of the reviews talk negatively about, those seem to be the 2 main complaints. From my experience, everything has been wonderful so far. I signed a 6 month lease (I always do that first), and if things remain the same I would gladly resign another lease.
Wreck less teenagers skateboarding around unsupervised near vehicles and pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.
After moving out if you dont give them 60 days notice youre moving when lease is finished you get charged 1900$ thanks a lot!!
Moving into this complex has been the best experience I’ve had with any apartment that I’ve moved in. Trying to find the best floorplan was probably the most stressful part because I go back-and-forth but to Anna-Lisa definitely helped me decide, And always kept me up-to-date on specials. Upon moving in I had no issues the apartment was completely clean I saw no bugs or anything. I’ve been here for about three or four months and the experience has been great I haven’t seen any roaches or anything the outside stays really clean they keep the complex up-to-date as far as cutting grass and cleaning the pool And clubhouse. The neighbors keep the outside of their door it’s very clean no trash or anything like that they actually have valet trash which is amazing. Even after moving in if I call needing A maintenance request or packages being left at my doorstep instead of the office Anna-Lisa takes care of it, even tho she doesn’t have too! I love my new home!! ❤️ If you are interested please reach out to Anna-Lisa she will make the process smoother than easy!
I have been living here for a little over 3 years now and LOVE IT!! I have never had an issue with anything!
I had a 6 month lease and loved my time here. The grounds are always clean and the maintenance and office staff were always really nice. Mail comes by around 10 A.M. which is nice. The gym usually has someone in it and the lounge was cool to hang out in and meet some of the neighbors. Quiet neighborhood and loved not having to take out the trash (though it is an extra charge to your rent but only about $13). Great location to 1604 and Ih-10. Would recommend.
There is no other persons that are easier to work with, and who do a better job, than the ladies and gentlemen at The Lodge at Shavano Park. It is amusing to see the negative comments as there is not anything that I can come up with that deems a negative review. The staff is genuine and have a great sense of humor, while the maintenance men & women do great-professional work, in a diligent manner. I feel confident that this group of people can really do great things with this property - that is already great already.
Moved here about 4 years ago and everything was initially going smooth. Overtime things changed.. I had been wanting to move out for a while but delayed mainly in hopes that things would improve. The one thing it ultimately came down to was the noise. I could not get any peace and quiet. The walls and ceilings are so thin that you can hear every step and sound the neighbors make; there was no avoiding it. Living on the second floor, I tried to be courteous to my downstairs neighbor but every step I would take would sound like a stomp. Then came the sense of security.. My vehicle was broken into and so were many others. While this could not be completely avoided, the apartment break ins I heard of really concerned me. The best thing about this property was the manager and maintenance. Dealing with anyone else at the front office was difficult. They seemed to have a new employee in place of others every couple of months. The property itself was somewhat maintained. The lot was always surfaced and recent landscape improvements helped with the look.
Spent two years there an it was nothing but positive. The staff was super responsive An the area was safe an secure. Quiet for most part, of course you could hear people above you an such but if you live in an apartment what do you expect lol. Overall I would recommend Lodge at Shavano to anyone looking!!
This place is wayyyy too overpriced for what they have. The maintenance there won’t get anything done, or they’re just unqualified. Living in a straw hut is a strong alternative to this place.
I will give this review the facts of our experience here at The Lodge.Moved in Labor Day 2014. Visited the space, signed contracts, and moved in within 3 days. Very speedy effort of the sales team. Moved in to a warm apartment because the air conditioning unit was out. Remained out for 3 days. The microwave was also broken upon move in. Replaced after 3 weeks.2 bedroom 2 bath on 2nd floor with spacious balcony patio is $1197 + $25 non-negotiable valet trash per month.Access cards to the gym and basketball/racquetball court is $25 each.Gym - dumbbells are rusty and elliptical is noisy (broken/loose part).1 out of 2 entrance gates have been broken (gate remains open) going on 4 weeks now.Air unit is an old fashioned dial (non digital).Gave it 2 stars because the location is great and quiet but the lack of urgency on getting issues fixed puts an overcast on the value of the neighborhood. Every sales person and maintenance employee is very nice and friendly. The management of The Lodge is what needs some changing or improving. Will be moving upon the end of the lease.
Avoid this place. It sucks in every way because the management doesn’t care about anything except collecting the rent every month. The management lie at every opportunity to avoid being responsible or accountable for anything. The security officer is SAPD and usually doesn’t like to respond to complaints. It’s obvious he inly took the position in order to get a reduced rate for living here. The Worst Experience In Renting That I Have Ever Had
If I could give zero stars I would. Not only did they tow my car, which was registered at the apt, (my husband and I both lost a whole work day getting it out), 5 months after we moved I get a letter from them that charges are being sent to collections AFTER THEY TOOK OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. My husband and I not only hired a professional cleaner but went through the apt ourselves and cleaned bc we have a dog. This place looks nice and its in a nice area but in the end they will screw you over. Oh yea, the fee was bc of crumbs in the oven. Not to mention the carpet replacement fees? They charged a carpet cleaning and a carpet replacement? Does that even make sense??? Ugh, just dont ever live here. Its not worth it.
I have lived here over a year now. Im writing this because I wish someone wouldve told me about this place before I signed the lease. Although, I do think that The Lodge at Shavano Park has gotten progressively worse in the time that Ive lived here. There is enough negative reasons for me to write an entire book, but I wont. First, and most importantly; Do Not Sign A Lease without seeing and inspecting the unit first. The Management staff here are LIARS and will fabricate any assurances you need in order to sign a new tenant. All the maintenance staff and most importantly the contractors that this company (Management Support) uses to do upgrades, clean and do landscaping are substandard. Management Support hires the cheapest workers and contractors to do the work here and read carefully, They Do Not INSPECT any of the work. As long as they can say that it was done is all that matters. One of the most important items to check before signing any lease is the functionality of the Air Conditioning. The design of the central AC in these apartments is seriously flawed and upon inspecting them any HVAC Technician can tell you that as it stands, you are going to have an ENORMOUS electricity bill due to this. It actually appears that at some point in the history of these apartments that the AC systems were Altered or Modified making them so inefficient. There is zero security here. The gates being left open for hours at a time only serve to invite criminals and, people who constantly enter to dump furniture/trash here.Another consequence of the lack of security is the fact that many lowlife hoodrats enter the property just to use our indoor basketball courts. There is supposedly a security courtesy officer who lives here but Good Luck trying to reach him quickly. The best option for security here which Ive adopted is put the phone numbers to SAPD & Shavano Park PD in my phone. Recently 2 apartments & several cars were broken into to illustrate what is going on in here. There was a reward from Management Support for any info leading to an arrest. Perhaps the culprits live here or regularly visit people who live here? Every weekend the open parking swells to full capacity because of all the unauthorized people that stay here over the weekend with their friends. These unauthorized people always announce their presence by driving through the complex at 3AM with their music pounding so load that one can feel it in their apartment. As I said before, there is too much to write in this small review. My advice to you is to really investigate before signing a lease here. You Have Been Warned.
Leasing agents are always helpful and friendly. Work orders are always taken care of within 24 to 48 hours. Beautiful community thats always well kept. Been an amazing experience
Worst experience with this apartment ever!!!! They don’t respect the privacy of the tenants and when you get upset because they but into your business, they charge you for a crumb in the mircrowave! A CRUMB! According to the contract they say to patch up minor holes and the some minor (pin holes) are acceptable but they WILL charge you for them! DO NOT let the location of Shavano Park pull you into these apartments! Spend a couple more bucks a month somewhere else. It will save you in the end and you’ll have a better living experience.
Dont trust the low ratings. I had a wonderful experience with the office staff who were all very helpful and went above and beyond to help. My locks were changed the same day when I was having issues with my key duplicates, and there has been good communication about a few other issues (bad dishwasher, clogged dryer vent). Except for the dishwasher, which I will admit is a moldy, disgusting mess, all of the appliances are in great shape and they work well.Since the complex is shaded, the A/C can be kept at a more reasonable temperature while the unit remains cool. The floor plan of the unit is wonderful and even though my neighbor has two dogs, I cant hear them from inside my unit!Parking has never been an issue, and the neighbors are all very kind and welcoming. The carpet was spotless, the walls were repainted very well (no watered down paint as per the san antonio norm), the shower was clean and the plank floors are in great condition. The location is nice and quiet and the high ceilings in the unit are a big plus.I was a little wary about the negative reviews, but theyve all turned out to be false. Ive had nothing but a pleasant experience. 4/5 stars due to the terrible dishwasher at move in and the really grossly dirty A/C filter.
We lived in a different building for a year...with no problems and no security deposit issues. We made that apt sparkle, lol. We are now living in another building, a year in June. Its a very quiet, convenient area. Neighbors who always left their trash bags out are gone so we are happier now, lol. Security...its OUR responsibility. The community is gated, there are cameras but thieves will be thieves...it happens. The leasing office is always pleasant, even when I call frustrated about maintenance issues...it gets done. Looks like we will be signing again in June. Btw, we have two dogs and they like it here too.😊
Thank you all for being super friendly and helpful!
Such wonderful staff and amenities are so many..love the place so far!
Office manager is always rude. She gave me a rude look and attitude when asked for a pen. Maintenance has come in the apartment for no reason and also comes and says there is a work order for the apartment when none was reported.Love the apartment itself, but the people who are running things are horrible.
Im a current resident and really its pretty quiet, you dont hear any noise. There is plenty of parking to go around and they have a lot of cool amenities. They have trash valet also that come and pick up your trash almost every night.Ive been living here for a couple of months now and im very satisfied aside of all the negative comments.
My leasing agent wasnt very communicative up front. I showed up after having driven 3 days cross country and my apartment wasnt ready. Even thought I had been clear several times about what date and time I was coming in. They secured a deposit on my debit card then wanted a money order for the rest of it. None of that was told to me before I pulled up with my moving truck. Needless to say I was frustrated and in tears. The property manager took several days before returning my call. After this initial agony there have ben no problems. The property is nice and clean. The staff is friendly. I love the valet trash. The neighbors are quiet and nice. This isnt the sort of complex where you will have noise violations after 11pm. People respect each other here. You are close to 1604 and IH 10. There are plenty of activities to do close by. And there are a few trails within 1-2 mile drive. My only complaint is they never alert you if a package has been delivered. Ive had several people send me stuff as a surprise and they had to ask me about it. An email would be nice and easy. Ive been here for a year and have renewed.
I advise against considering this as a home. I had to sue this place over small fees they were trying to collect without warrant. I WON. you dont want to have to be like me and have to sue to make things right. After legal fees... I LOST but fought it on principal. I won not only because they were wrong but they fail to follow up on requests and respond to their tenants and handle things in a timely manner. If you search public records, you will find a huge number of apartment break ins as well as auto break ins and auto theft. The police are here consistently due to many issues. You will not feel safe, your vehicles will not be safe, your wallet will not be safe. They are managed out of state which makes it difficult to get anything resolved and the people on site have no power to actually do anything.. which is why lawyers had to get involved for a measley $2400 in damages with well over that in court fees.
2 months after I moved in I found a note on my counter that maintenance had come in for an emergency check 2 days later someone robbed my apartment. The door wasnt broken, they had a key.....When I moved in there wasnt a microwave, I asked for on and the gave me on that was completely rusted inside, when I made them aware of it it took them another month to get me one.It goes on and on... This place is deceiving it looks amazing on the outside, but once you move in, you will regret it
Once my background check was completed, I was told I would pay one deposit amount, but when I received the renter agreement the requested deposit was double the amount. When I contacted the property to address the discrepancy I was told that I must have just misunderstood. There was no misunderstanding. I asked very specific detailed questions regarding the amount I would pay prior to move in. I made sure not to leave any ambiguity in my questions or the responses I received, but yet in the end there still somehow was a misunderstanding. I read about similar experiences with this property, but didnt think I would fall victim to the same experience. Needless to say I will not be signing any lease agreement with this property. I have wasted time and money. I am now back to square one in finding an apartment. Advice, if you decide to deal with this property make sure you document everything in writing and/or record your conversations with the office staff.
Worst for security. gates are always broken. the fence around the complex has holes where people can crawl through. people from outside the complex are always in the gym and ratchet ball court. People leaving the walk-thru gate prop open so that others can get through with rocks. If your wanting security forget this place. if you want you amenitys just for you forget this place. Forever telling the office about the dog below me barking at ALL hours of the night. and dont forget parking. you will be in B.F.E. by 5 pm... they leave the gate open from 4:30 to 6:30 because they say it is the busy time. where is the security in that. that is why it is called a GATED COMMUNITY.. you dont leave them open. besides that you get a bill for your water that you use... but you will get charged for water used in the WHOLE BUILDING on an average. on month our water bill was $23 for just us... was were charged almost $40 dollars because it was an average for the building... NO RIGHT AT ALL.... i dont recommend this apartment complex to anyone. THEY DONT HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE FOR GOING THE WRONG WAY THROUGH THE GATES. SOMEONES CAR OR SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT BADLY BECAUSE OF PEOPLE GOING IN THE WRONG WAY OF THE GATES
Management is awful - yes its true they are not honest regarding lease terms and fees. Please read that thousand page document line for line...They arent exceptionally rude but definitely not helpful.Maintenance is fine, except the long delays - somehow I think its due to non-communication from the front office.Parking is mostly adequate, however, parking rules are not enforced- cars sit for months unmoved.Appliances and fixtures are well dated but mostly work.I cant recommend this complex- seriously look some place else...
The apartments are fine and maintenance was great. The lady in the front office constantly lose paper work or have it filled out wrong. At the slightest sign of your irritation they will ask you to leave or just ignore you. When we gave our 60 day notice they constantly found issues with paper work making us fill out the forms over and over. Even after filling out our 60 day notice they still left other notices on our door telling us we need to let them know if we are going to renew our lease. I confronted them about the bad reviews on the front office the boss of the front office said it is the residence problem not theres.
Moved in two months ago. The office fire alarm goes off most nights, waking up most of the people in my building. The office claims nothing is wrong. Biggest mistake of my life moving here.
I lived at this apartment complex from Jan of 2015 to July of 2015 while stationed in San Antonio for training. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I still dream about my apartment here and how much I loved it! I had a giant balcony a giant bathtub and a walk-in closet. The kitchen was nice and it was an easy to clean one bedroom apartment. I saw the reviews before but decided to give it a try and im so glad I did. The gate was fixed about a month after I got there which I loved and the pool was nice the gym was small but nice. I had no noise issues. The valet trash was soooo nice to have and I never had issues with the front desk ppl like I saw in the reviews. Everyone was always nice to me, there were a couple times when mistakes were made or an oops happened but thats with any place and they were always nice and willing to help me out the best I could. My move in was super easy and they gave me no issues when I had to move out even though I had signed a year long lease, I just showed them my orders and they handled the rest. I had no problems with the move out inspection either. I miss this place so much. Paying rent and everything was such a breeze and easy as well.
THE LODGE AT SHAVANO PARK IN SAN ANTONIO IS A RENTER’s WORST NIGHTMARE. A very Dishonest place. Horrible Management, non functioning facility, unsfafe clubhouse environment, D grade quality work being done by maintenance, very slow service, IN DETAIL.. towel rack broken and hanging in the restroom. Water leaking continuously in the sinks and tub, roaches found in he kitchen, mud and dirt tracked in on the carpet because maintenance did not take off their shoes when they came in to do repairs (i did the cleaning), dirt left on the living room floor and not cleaned after maintenance came in to do repairs (I did the cleaning), debris from installing vertical blinds left in the dining room and not cleaned when maintenance came in and did repairs (i did the cleaning), debris left on the floor in the front door by maintenance after installing a shield to block the insects that were coming in (i did the cleaning), window blinds dirty, dusty and not clean from the minute I got there, screens with dust the size of dimes which I asked to be cleaned or replaced and they were not done, security gates did not work from day one and did not work when I left, they keep your deposits for very minimal things however their customer service is subpar. Management is slow to reply. Very Poor communication over email. Not sure what else to say, but I’m going to make more reviews on other platforms so everyone knows that this is not a place of Honesty and Integrity.
Beautiful apartments I have 2 friends that live here and both are happy with their apartments .. I love the layout .. if I was looking for an apartment this would probably be where I would look
The Lodge Apts are scam artist and like previous review stated they will find ways to screw you over by charging you for unauthorized fees. Pet fees $300, cleaning fees $95.00 even after it is spotless. Carpet replacements $385.00, $95.00 exterminator fees. Repaint entire apt fee $385.00 . This fee equals 5 gallons of paint for a small apt . Outrageous!! Be careful if you should move in. Take lots of photos. Don’t nail any pictures if you have to paint the entire apt. When you move out make sure you ask them to get you a water softner they will complain about hard water stains in toilers &bathrooms. Make sure you have a manager not leasing agent with you to observe your move out & Dont Foorget Pictures. Better yet look elsewhere. Be careful with Tyra Lindquist apt bill collector & assistant manager Becky . They claim they have 7 day a week service but they always only have 1 agent on duty and he or she cannot handle the walk inns. I was in the office a lot and say really upset tenants & potentially new ones coming in.
I would not suggest these apartments to anyone. the front office does not inform you when you have packages. I have had packages delivered and they sat in the office for literally 6 months because the office never called to tell me that they arrived. I have never lived in apartments besides these that dont tell you when you receive a package. half the time their gate system never works so I have to walk down stairs and outside to open the gate for my guests. parking is horrible, you will never find a spot near you apartment even if you pay extra for the covered parking. half the appliances your apartment comes with do not work and are constantly breaking. You are not allowed to have ANY guests at all in ANY of the amenities, not even the gym or they will fine you. They also have no dumpster, just one trash compactor for the entire complex which is clear across the otherside of the complex. with that being said they have vallet trash pick up but if you place more than one bag outside or if it is not in their super tiny trash can they provided they will fine you for that. which is hard to do because they dont collect trash on weekends, holidays, or after 8pm so the trash piles up and you end up with more than 1 bag of trash especially if you are living in an apartment with 3 people! The office staff is very lazy. they will tell you that theyll call you back and they never do and when you try to call them the person you need is always gone and no one else seems to be able to help you. you have to put in a 60 day notice before moving out of this place when most aartment you have to just put in a 30 day. These apartments are definitely not as good as they claim to be especially considering theyre supposed to be luxury apartments.
Regardless of whether youve professionally cleaned your apartment at move-out, this place will deduct cleaning fees, and a carpet cleaning fee, regardless of any actual carpet damage. In addition to the pet fee and deposit, theres an additional undisclosed $50 defleaing charge at move-out (despite the high pet fee - which SHOULD cover defleaing). Be prepared to lose a part of your security deposit, even if youre an excellent tenant who returns the unit in better condition than it was rendered to you. Make sure to take photos when you move in - its spot-cleaned at best, and they wont furnish you an extra copy of your inspection notes after the fact, so demand it upfront. We found mold under the soap holders in the showers, a layer of dust, roaches, pet fur and debris under the washer and dryer, debris in the vanity drawers and a fridge that had been poorly wiped down on the interior. We made sure to return it in better shape by having it professionally cleaned for over $120 - but still had a cleaning fee withheld from our deposit (despite only living here a few months). The staff seem very nice and were helpful, but they have dishonest practices. So, dont trust the friendly facade. Get everything documented and in writing, because they will ultimately try and screw you. Maintenance was quick - but required often - as the units are old and appliances are run-down. Insulation is a joke (we found a window with a large hole drilled through the metal frame and they thought an appropriate fix was to stuff foam in it when I complained) and our utility bills were high for a place this size. The grassy areas are covered in dog-poop. The pool never looked very clean. Though I dont know if there were break-ins, I did hear car alarms go off at all hours of the morning, and saw signs of what I assumed were theft. The gates are frequently broken, or left open, so dont assume that this is a secure complex: theres no patrolling of the lots at night, so actual tenants lose spots to visitors. And, the walls are thin - so youll hear your neighbors. Overall, the location may be convenient for some, but the apartments are older. The month-to-month leasing option isnt actually: its a 60 day notice regardless. Staff may be helpful and maintenance quick when you live there, but be prepared for dishonest practices regarding your security deposit.
Ive been a resident for 2 years and have been pleased with the property for the most part. As far as location, pricing and amenities offered, this place has it all.
Lived for 1 year, positives, great floor plans and layout, spacious 2 bedrm apts. Lots of trees to provide shade and buildings are well connected through walkways, maintenance takes care of requests in a timely manner. Stephanie the Apartment manager is very understanding of tenants situations and addresses them promptly. Apt is very close to major shopping areas, close to Harderberger park and Orsinger parks for children.Areas for improvement: Pest Control- Roaches are omnipresent, when you go to the office looking for packages that were delivered for you only some packages are handed over, could do a better job of looking for all packages received. Some apartments come with broken/loose handles for towel holders, atleast assign spots for open parking by apartment, outside guests park on spaces for tenants and tenants cannot find parking spots even in the next block.Swimming pool hours need to be enforced, I was living close to the pool and would see people at 2 am or 3 am in the summer inebriated shouting cuss words.
Came by today ( 5/10/2017) with my fiancé to look at 1bed/1bath apartments. Was greeted by a by a Hispanic women that didnt even give us her name. She came off very cold to us and acted like we werent worth her time. We didnt even bother to ask to see if we could view an apartment and decided to leave. I will never understand how these leasing agents for these so called luxury apartments can have the nerve to judge individuals by their appearance to see whether they can afford to live at these apartments, which is exactly what this women did to my fiancé and I. Will not recommend to anyone...
Dont even think of renting here bunch of dishonest crook and liars Crystal in particular went to look at apt was told they an apt and garage available, called the next day to verify the info before submitting application online, even while online they say they have a garage available. then two hours after getting my 100$ administration fee and 35$ application fee the liar Crystal calls to say they dont have garage available. if they would have said that upfront i would not have applied. now there refusing my refund .saying the application fee is non refundable. would not have filled out application if she would have said on the 1st day no garage available. now Ive hired an attorney over this dam lair
I did a one year lease, not much going on here though. Theres a lot of people walking their dogs but other than that the other residents are always inside. Theres probably a 60/40 ratio of older to younger population here which is probably why theres nothing going on. But even so, there is a good amount of stuff to do like basketball, racquetball, small gym (no bench or squat rack and dumbells up to 50) and a decent pool to 5 or 6 ft deep. Ive never had slow service when something broke in the apartment. I would always pitch my maintenance issue like my room was gonna flood and they would freak out at their desk and send someone right away. This is opposite of other reviews ive read before i moved in. Lockhill Selma road is what gives this place its pulse with backroads to take to get to Huebner and 1604, a nice gas station across the street and runners everywhere.
Rude front desk/management. They only want your money. Dishonest and deceptive, will leave information for processes out to generate more revenue. Make sure you read everything. Also once you sign their attitude changes. The girls at the front desk act like theyre doing you a favor when you speak with them. If you hate your job... quit.Gates arent operational often. Basketball courts have outsiders smoking weed in them. Pool is dirty. My experience, took my deposit for cleaning fees and paint on things that were already there, my apartment was also never cleaned upon moving in, when i spoke with the general manager she said i wasnt the one who showed you the apt therefore i cannot do anything.. when the apt i moved into was the apartment they used for advertising their floor models.update : i havent been contacted in a few years.. but i should update when i moved out (3 days before move out date) i was charged an extra 200$ for early move out even though i paid that months rent.and now its on my credit 2 years laterthis place is a joke, more of a dealership than a apartment complex.
Nothing but lies and rude people. We explained our situation and were told that it would be no problem by Crystal (or however its spelled). We paid the $35/ea application fee and were turned down. When we called the company who does their qualifying checks to ask why, they told us a completely different set of standards as compared to what we were told by Crystal. We then proceeded to talk with the acting property manager who was very rude, arguementative and condescending. So yeah, kinda think we dodged a bullet by not getting into this place if this is how they treat people.
We have lived here from 2016 to 2017. Our biggest praise for the complex is the location and the shady areas available through out. Our biggest disapointment is their contracting of a valet trash company. While well aware a lot of complexes here contract through valet trash companies our problem is if you pile more than one bag outside which often happens over the weekend when they dont come from Thursday evening to Sunday evening we get a notice. If the trash can is not out there with bags piled on top we get a notice....If trash is put out to early we get a notice. Stupid as all this may be it is written somewhere in the contract admittedly. What gets us other than paying alot extra for a useless service that makes a otherwise decent looking complex look ghetto is when we set the garbage out at the directed time it is often just not picked up by the valet garbage contractor. (Happened numerous times)(and its obvious with all the neighbors trash setting there also) and guess what....When it sets out there after they fail to pick it up we get a notice from the office lol. This office needs to spend less time dogging the tenants and spend a little more time dogging the contractors to do their job right.
Honestly there pet policy is beyond ignorant. Their aggressive breeds list is inaccurate and out of date. If they were truly concerned with peoples safety Yorkie and chihuahuas wouldnt be allowed. Im sure its just office drones following managements moronic rules. Atleast they were up front the Second time we asked that our retiever mix was not allowed.
Dont even bother cleaning the place when you move out. You will never see your deposit again. Cleaning fees, carpet replacement, extermination...whatever they make up to charge you for.
Do not lease here. They are deceptive, rude and you will regret it.It is a facade, the apartment/apartment complex is not actually as luxurious as they try to make it seem. They will also charge you fees that do not make sense, for example cleaning fee but you dont get the room actually clean, then they say its for when you leave.. but what happened to the last person who left?
I am about to move away from here only because I am relocating to South Carolina for a new job opportunity. Let me say this: This management has always been very, very reasonable. This is a business, and they have to make money. So dont be surprised when they tell you there is a trash fee (You will pay for trash even if you own a home) and you also pay utilities (What a surprise...)If you have a dog, theres a fee for that too, along with monthly pet rent. But these fees are standard at any apartment complex, so the idea that there are hidden fees is silly. If you are going to any apartment complex and looking at the monthly rent was your ONLY expense for that housing, as if it is all included, you are naive. They do not nickel and dime you any more than any place else. No, they wont fix anything unless it is formally submitted. Why? Its your apartment. You are leasing it. They need your written permission to enter, or a notice to you to let you know they are coming in ahead of time. So yea, if you call the office and say your dishwasher is broken, they arent going to just send someone over. Their leasing agents are not the central hub of all things there. You have an online portal. So use it. I did, and I got my dishwasher fixed the next day. I couldnt figure out what bulb to use in my light that went out, so I just submitted a work order. It got fixed. Saw some bugs, before I even reported anything, pest control had already been called. They got me a new, bigger, over the stove microwave just because I was moving in.The Lodge at Shaven Park is absolutely respectable, very quiet, and extremely convenient. It is close to the Rim, and La Cantera. Clark HS is right around the corner, there are two excellent, EXCELLENT HEBs here, as well as a Walmart Neighborhood Market, everything I need is close by. Location is great. Most people complaining here are idiots, have never really had to live anywhere and pay for anything, and accept no responsibility for their own actions. I like the lodge, its quiet, never noisy, people are friendly, the parking lot has been repaved, there is a half-court for basketball, its nice here. I really have enjoyed it. People just need to get over themselves and realize this is not a 24-hour service. Most of these people probably didnt even read their lease.Oh, and yea I also was told I had one deposit amount and then they increased the deposit amount after the background check. That is standard if you have no rental history. So if you have never rented before, they are incurring additional liability for the fact that you might totally mess this place up because this is your first time renting. But its a deposit. You get it back. People are just crying to cry.
I greatly regret moving in here. Ive had maintenance out more than 5 times within the first month to have stuff fixed that should have been taken care of before move in. I have exposed nails in the carpet which severely hurt a friend of mine; theyve been out twice and still havent managed to nail all of the nails down. I had 4 appliances replaced within weeks of move in, but not before losing a load of wash to an absolutely destroyed washing machine. The maintenance staff works hard, but management will do or say anything to get you to move in.
Its ok. The complex is geared more for upper middle class.
Very clean, safe, and good location.
My worst nightmare, management worst and the most inept people I have ever tried to work with, it was so bad that I moved out 2 months early couldnt stand it anymore but it was worth paying rent at two places to get out, rec area keys never worked gave up on them security gates didnt work most the time, rent was never the same was charged late charges multiple times because of their ineptness to even try, do not waste your money here, I would rate -5 if I could, so I have been forced to turn it all over to my attorney to stop all the bs fees I am still being charged even thought I left two months early.
Actually I think I just drove past, or near The Lodge so I can say little for or against her.
Very nice and serene.
Stay away from this!
