The Red Wood Management Co team is extremely unprofessional. I have family that live out there and they already ready to leave.Property management sent an email to all the residents telling them that the pool is a privilege not a necessity. I’m sorry but the money that the residence spend on this property the pool should be accessed anyone that lives here. Also I find it very disturbing that both property managers show up to the residence home when they are only a few days late on rent. One cause for concern because it seems like they only targeting the black and Latinos. Which is so funny because it seems like the property manager is black and Latino. This calls for uncomfortable question and concern. No one should have to feel uncomfortable going home or even being home at this property. They also it’s going to need security cameras around the property so many incidents has happened and it seem like the property is slow with the moves. I highly recommend that everyone who is looking for an apartment to avoid this one look at the surrounding apartments in the area. I have a friend that is apartment finder agent and I tell him to do not recommend anyone to go to his apartment at this moment with this new management company.
The Red Wood Management Co team they have here is rude, unprofessional, and not at all helpful. Extremely argumentative and do not care about tenets. They basically have no intention of making it feel like a home to you, if that is what you are wanting. Slow to get things done and poor management leader skills as a whole. I would absolutely pass on renting here, because dealing with property will be a huge battle and headache on all levels.
From the first day we got here, Ryan did a phenomenal job in making us feel welcome and part of the community. He’s got to be the BEST! Then, after needing some assistance with a few things around the apartment, we had the opportunity to meet Carlos & Jeff who were absolutely phenomenal; professional, courteous, and super friendly. On top of the staff, our apartment is stunning, the views are off the charts, and we’re just overall happy to call this place HOME for a few months!
Best apartments in San Antonio, don’t get to discouraged about the other reviews, some people can’t be pleased. Great and quiet secluded location right next to I-10 for easy access. The top floor has the best views and also has 13ft vaulted ceilings making it feel larger. I did not have any issues with excessive noise from other tenants as I did in all previous apartments. Management is great and very tentative when it comes to work orders. Also I have met some great people here, everyone is very friendly. Would highly recommend.
Ryan and the other front office staff are really amazing. Straight up, they will address issues very quickly and are always friendly. I also wanted to let the maintenance people know they rock as well. Seriously, every issue weve had they have addressed within 1-3 days. Always friendly and on-point. Property is also well maintained. Thank you all for making this a great place to live!-James
It is dangerous to live here!!! Someone broke into my apartment one evening and stole very valuable items, luckily I was away. On another night, my car got broken into in the parking lot. I got a security camera and caught a guy trying to break into my apartment while I was asleep!!! This is so scary! Ive stopped by the Leasing Office every time to let them know, and left a message for the Property Manager, Kristi Morton, to call me, as I was needing to speak with her regarding my security concern. I never heard back from Krist Morton. When I stopped by to speak with her, she became extremely rude with me and said she never got my messages. This is truly the worse experience Ive had anywhere. The Property Manager does not care about the residents here. Dont rent here!!!!
I recently just moved into Ascent Cresta Bella. The location is perfect & the complex itself is immaculate. Ryan Escamilla helped us find the perfect apartment for my boyfriend and I. Ryan was very helpful and attentive. He made sure all our questions were answered & also made sure our unit was ready for our move in day. He also provided the best service possible in this pandemic. Juan & I could not be more happier. Thank you Ryan!
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful especially Maggie. She is always working hard and has an extraordinary will to help. During the pandemic, she made sure the gym was cleaned and sanitized, as well as, ordered everyday. I would really like to thank Maggie and the staff to make Ascent a great complex to live.
We didn’t get to tour in person when we signed but everything that we saw in the video was what we got. It’s a great environment filled with families and couples! It’s the prefect place if you want the out of city feel without being too far.
SAFETY CONCERNS...I am shocked at the lack of concern by management for the safety of their residents. There is a group of about 5-6 people that live in or are consistently staying in a 2 bedroom on the third floor of building number 5. Several residents have made noise complaints in the recent past. This group came in at 2:00 am this morning highly intoxicated and extremely disruptive. After asking them to keep it down, one of the males attempted to start a physical altercation with me. HIs friend had to drag him away.I reported this to the management this afternoon. Their response was that the most they could do was give the other residents a courtesy call. They said they have no responsibiltiy and it is up to me to handle the situation. They are now on notice that the safety of residents in their community has been threatened. They have the option to take action. Should they not, this situation is likely to escalate given their endorsement and complicity to this type of behavior.
BEAUTIFUL AREA! This is a really nice side of town but this property isnt the best option in the area. There are other properties near the RIM that will give you more bang for your buck (ie more closets and storage space, additional studio rooms, reasonably priced covered parking, cleaner dog park, better security, safer parking lot - There are accidents in the parking lot).I found it very stressful living here. My car was broken into once in my third year of living here. I also saw many trucks have their tired stolen. Trucks are targeted in this area. The gate is often broken but even when it isnt its fairly easy to walk in. I lived here for 3 years so Ive been on the property since it opened back in 2017. I agree with some of the other reviews - the walls are very thin, and the hallways, stairwells, and landscaping could be better maintained. Not sure why they have begun digging out the flower beds to replace them with rocks (not real dog friendly.)The Fees Can Be A Little Steep:To keep the community clean they started DNA testing the dogs in the community. Fees for not picking up are - $350 first offense, $450 second offense, eviction third offense. They will tell you the fee used to be lower but that is not true - first offense was 350 dollars when they initially introduced the policy. If we receive 3 photos from one resident that result in successful fines you will be awarded a $25 gift card.Since COV-19 hit - apparently the fear of fines has stopped working the way management had hoped. Now they are offering $25 gift cards to anyone who helps catch the offenders by sending in pictures/ videos of the resident not picking up after their pet. If it takes others surveillance to keep the community clean - fine, so be it.Better late than never on this one - its taken 3 years for them to address the speeding issue. This month (April 2020) they finally did! Theyve added a speeding fine. 50 for the first time, then 250, then eviction. Much more reasonable than the pet fine. Was happy to see that. Hopefully in the future they will see the only way to truly slow people down will be to remove the option to speed all together (Ive mentioned this to the office recently - in the two years Ive lived here Ive seen no efforts to add speed bumps. Will update if things change.) Major oversight by the complex. Back side of complex does not have any sidewalk so if youre walking youve gotta do it in the street. To keep the Gym organized theyve started charging fines. If equipment is found left out cameras will be reviewed and the resident will be charged $50 per item. I dont use the gym often but Im sure that motivated people to rack their weights when they are finished. This is also a large community with a small pool area in comparison. You can only bring 3 guest with you to the pool and everyone has to wear wrist bands. I never had pool days with my friends here simply cause we couldnt call go.Unless you are dead set on the view, consider looking elsewhere. You can get a better value in a safer place.
So I recently just moved in and wasn’t aware of construction that was going on my roof. It has been pretty intense, so of course, I let management know. I’ve lived in other complexes, but none have been as attentive and sharp as Ascent! My light had fell off, and IMMEDIATELY the manager Kristi made sure maintenance came to fix it the same day within 5 minutes that I got off the phone with her. They even offered other things to accommodate as well as checking up to ensure that I was taken care of! Impressed! Then I had someone else come by (after it was taken care of) to check AGAIN and take care of me even more for the noise I experienced, as well as a date that the construction would be over with. I might as well add that Ryan is awesome as well! He wasn’t my leasing agent, but might as well should have been. He made sure i had an easy experience moving in, and gave me as much information as he could! Management is wonderful and will take GREAT care of you, property is BEAUTIFUL, and I absolutely love it here.
I love this apartment complex. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also during this pandemic Maggie made sure the gym was sanitized and safe to workout in everyday. Thank you for all the hard work and making this place a great area to live in.
I don’t know if it’s where my apartment is... but we also hear people fighting. If these are high rise “nice” “Luxury” apartments then why does it not seem that way. Parking is not the best either. :(Maintenance is cool. Those guys get an A+.
Apartment is beautiful but RYAN ESCAMILLA in the main office has gone above and beyond to make my living here a great experience and is the reason for my 5 star review! He is always attentive, gets back to me quickly and helps me with any issues that I am having! The maintenance staff is also incredibly timely, nice and helpful.
This apartment complex has been GREAT! The community grounds are always clean and well kept. Maggie and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.Hands down one of the best apartments I’ve lived in.
During the construction of our home we leased an apartment at Ascent Cresta Bella for almost 2 years. I cannot say enough good things about the property! Fun & contemporary, very nice amenities, gorgeous pool area, well manicured grounds, VERY pet friendly (having our own little fenced in yard was a HUGE bonus!) but most of all the manager, Kristi Morton, and her staff bring first class attention to their tenants needs. I give them an A+++++ and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an apartment in the LaCantera area.
Toured this apartment with my daughter and the lady that toured us was phenomenal, she is the assistant manager Kayla. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the property and was able to answer all of our questions we had. It is a beautiful property with gorgeous amenities and very clean buildings! This is my number one pick for where I would like my daughter to lease at.
Living at Ascent Cresta Bella Apartments has been amazing! We had just moved from Orange County, California and this was the next best thing to home! We wouldnt have wanted to be stuck quarantining anywhere else. The margarita delivery event was our favorite!
One of if not THE nicest apartments in San Antonio and probably beyond that. The building design from apartments to pool is breathtaking and it overlooks an amazing view. Price point is well worth it and cheaper than what you would expect to pay. Very peaceful community. Happily Satisfied, the manager Kristie will take good care of you there!
Before I had moved cities I resided at Ascent Cresta Bella and absolutely loved it! From the start leasing consultant Ariana had greeted me with a warm welcome and answered every question I had about the property. She gave me a tour of the property and I instantly fell in love with the scenery and amenities! Ascent Cresta Bella was in the best spot with no noise, easy axis to get onto I-10, and next to the RIM. I will miss my time there but definitely a great place to have had my first residence of my own. I strongly recommend this residence and the staff was beyond helpful.
I can’t rave enough good things about our new apartment! My boyfriend and I moved in about a week ago into this property. It is beautiful, the price is unbeatable, and the staff is amazing. There were some minor issues when we moved in, and they have all been promptly fixed. Mark and Luke from the maintenance team are quick and super nice! Kristi, the property manager, & Ryan have been super accommodating to our needs. They are pet friendly, and welcomed my boyfriend’s emotional support animal without a problem. DO NOT HESITATE TO MOVE IN. YOU WILL LOVE IT :)
First apartment I moved in to and most of it I would say I have no problem with. You are getting what you pay for. My only problem will be the parking spot, as I was reading the other reviews parking spot here has been an issue for years already. To this date (January 22, 2021) we didnt know we will be one of those people that will encounter that problem. Our car got towed for parking illegally but parking spots here has been an issue. It is open to the public, everyone can come in here with no problem residents or not residents. If you coming home from work late guaranteed that you have to park on the other side of the complex. The only time we had to take the risk and park illegally for a reason that it was raining and super cold that was when they took an action and started towing peoples car, when for the past months Ive been living here people been parking illegally and no actions was taken from it.
I had the absolute best experience when I took a tour here the other day. The manager, Kristi, was hilarious and very kind. She had answers to all of my questions throughout the process. The property is great, and you cannot beat the views for the price. I submitted my application the same day with no issues and am excited to move in, I give this property 5 out of 5 because Ascent at Cresta Bella deserves it! Thank you for giving me a great new place to live!
First of all: this is a beautiful apartment complex. It is on a hill and the views are incredible. The property is very well-managed and is new. The apartments are very nice and high quality. The amenities and especially the pool are very nice and very well-maintained (although I will say during the summer, the pool draws a younger college crowd that can get rowdy, so families may not enjoy this as much).I really enjoyed living here and was sad to have to move. We needed more space with a baby on the way, and unfortunately couldnt afford the jump from a 1 bedroom to 2 bedroom.During my stay, it was difficult to get ahold of the front office at times (due to COVID and turnover of staff). And I was frustrated upon move-out because the move-out fees that I was being charged I felt were unfair and excessive, as I had left the apartment in good shape similar to it was upon my move-in. I am writing this 5-star review because I was treated very well by the regional manager, Lyndsey. She was very kind and understanding and reduced the charges to be more than fair. It is too bad she isnt in San Antonio full time!Overall, highly recommend this apartment. I have recommended it to other friends and co-workers, and they love it. The location is also great because it is right next to the RIM and La Cantera, where there is plenty to do.
There’s so many good things to say!! To start off, moving in process was easy. We love the view from our apartment, amenities are top notch, management is very efficient and caring. Any time I need maintenance they are very quick and respectful! We were so lucky to also get a garage thats right in front of apartment door which is SUPER convenient when having a toddler. The neighborhood is wonderful and I never hesitate to take a stroll around here just for fun! Our one bedroom apartment is very spacious for us and it’s so homey! Very grateful to be living somewhere where I don’t have to worry about my families safety!
This complex is quite the hidden gem-not too far from San Antonio proper and comfortably isolated from the hustle and bustle of city life. I renewed my lease with this complex for many reasons:1. The management staff, Kristi and Ryan to name a few, have been very accommodating to our needs.2. The very responsive Maintenance Experts have always been courteous and professional when there has been a service request.3. The amenities are impeccably above par; the clean gym areas, the safe and relaxing pool area and the convenient trash disposal service are amazing.I am very fortunate to have found a home spacious enough to enjoy the view of the hill country while I play my baby grand piano in the living room.
I had the best experience over the phone. Finally a apartment complex that wanted to find out more about me and what I truly was looking to find! Thank you Kristi for really showing me how much you cared in making my move easier. Coming from Ohio I was very nervous about even having to move. I look forward to meeting with you very soon and visit my hopefully soon to be home!
Maggie does an awesome job sanitizing the gym daily. Real nice lady.. thanks for the clean towel!
Love this property. The staff is amazing too. The manager gave me a tour, she was so sweet, accommodating and was very helpful/knowledgeable! The property is beyond gorgeous and is in a great location. Thanks Kristi!
Great apartment. Only downside is that walls next to the stairwell are not very soundproof and you can hear people going up and down the stairs
Just moved in here a couple of weeks ago. I love that you can grab free coffee in the morning & catch the sunrise from the top deck. Listening to the morning birds, staring out at the hill country is quite serene. As with any apartment community, always lock your doors & never leave your car running unattended. If able to, I will continue to edit/add updates on my experience living here at Ascent Cresta Bella.
I enjoy living at Ascent Cresta Bella. Great management and excellent maintenance team. They are all very responsive. Also a shout out for Maggie, one of the housekeepers, who did some cleaning for me yesterday. She was very professional and did a wonderful job.
Terrible place to live and ridiculously priced. Better off living in a rent house. I did not inform them 60 days ahead of time that I was moving out and was charged an entire months worth of rent. After all was said and done I ended up being charged $3,500 out of pocket. Therefore I tried to call the front desk to see what I could do about the situation and nobody would pick up the phone for over I week. I ended up having to drive to the front office and was told If you could not afford the apartment then you should not have chosen to live here. Let me remind that this was after the fact I had drove to the office AND was informed two weeks after I moved out that I was going to have to pay them the extra expense. 10/10 would not recommend.
Love this community and the friendly staff! Kayla is amazing and always willing to help. Plus, they coordinate the best resident events!
I have been an apartment locator for 21 years and I cannot rave enough about the manager Kristi Morton. I have watched her grow in the industry over the years and you could not ask for a better person representing your property! She brings professionalism and grace to the apartment industry and much-needed knowledge when dealing with the public. I also love Accent Cresta Bella! A beautiful gem in the hills of La Cantera. Gorgeous pool with amazing views. I truly think theyre one of the best in the area. Great floor plans ranging from 1-3 bedrooms! With the combination of Great management and gorgeous property, you cant go wrong!!
I have been a vendor at this property for some time now, the property and the location is great, staff is very polite and friendly. One if the leasing agents (Ryan) is very helpful and always helps me with any information and help that I need. I definitely recommend this property to anyone searching for a new home.
The management team is responsive and easy to work with. You will appreciate a property that actually cares about its residents and goes above and beyond! You will love it here
It is a great place to live, relax, be safe and interact. The manager is very helpful and on top of things. It is a humble place to live and she makes sure the premises are taken care of as well the apartment maintenance.
This is a beautiful property, well maintained. The staff was nice. Ryan Escamilla was super helpful with everything I needed. He went above and beyond to assist us. I truly appreciate all his professionalism and his support.
Lovely complex, apartments, and fantastic location. Only issue is lack of parking and everything else outweighs that (starting second year lease living here) Ryan Escamilla at the front office is so nice to work with and very accomodating!
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Kristi & her staff. True professionals. I would highly recommend this community to anyone who interested in living in the Cresta Bella area!
I moved here in March and the quiet, luxury you pay for is well worth it. The staff is incredibly friendly and I have neighbors on both sides of me I never hear. I also live on the ground floor and my upstairs neighbor is super quiet. I appreciate the little things and how the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I will be renewing my lease.
I know during this time a lot of people can be stressed about their living situations. But I’ve never felt more welcomed and taken care of by Ascent Cresta Bella, it’s great staff and leader Kristi Morton! They’ve been helpful and there for me along every step of the way, not to mention the property itself is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I can get used to calling this place HOME!
Apartment hunting can be an extensive, exhausting, and overwhelming task for just about anybody. Whether you’re moving out of your parents place for the first time or moving cities for the big promotion, everyone is looking for a comfortable place to call home. Ascent Cresta Bella is that place for a lot of families and individuals, including myself and my girlfriend. From the atmosphere of the community to the professionalism of management, ACB stands above and beyond what you’ll find elsewhere. When your apartment needs attention, it’s scheduled and dealt with. Want a garage or covered parking? ACB has both ( I’ve had a Leveled Ram 2500 crew cab in my garage comfortably, that’s with my huge storage rack on the back wall). When you want to swim or catch some amazing views, you have full access to a resort style infinity pool. Did I mention with multiple pergolas?!! You might be thinking “But I haven’t heard about a gym yet?” Yeah ACB has one, it’s two stories too! Anyone love free coffee? There’s a coffee bar constantly stocked for our convince in the beautiful 360 lounge. Like your trash picked up on time and lawn cut like clock work? I think you get it, I know I’m rambling. I’ve been here nearly a year and a half and I can say that has been my experience consistently. The views are unbeatable and the property is well cared for and always clean. Love it.
One the best community’s I have ever lived. Management are on point Specially Kristi. Super safe and clean I highly recommend living here,
I have been working with Ascent Cresta Bella since January 2018. I have enjoyed working with the management team over the years. You can tell Kristi Morton, the property manager, takes pride in her work! Great professionalism, and a great property to work with!
My son lived here for 2 years, and recently moved out of state. He was having trouble with his rental verification in a new state, the staff at Ascent Cresta Bella (Ryan, Ari, Kayla and Kristi) went above and beyond to assist us. I truly appreciate all there professionalism and understanding of our situation. This a beautiful place to live, and the staff is awesome!! Thank yall so much!😊
Not that they need another negative review but everyone I have talked to has been dishonest from the beginning. I will say that this complex is absolutely beautiful and has the potential if they had the fitting staff. I went to tour with over three months left in my previous lease because of how competitive their prices were. This is now obvious because of the other terrible reviews and lack of professionalism and honesty. When I went to tour the leasing agent was kind and showed me around the property. The cart to drive me around in broke down so we had to stop and tour a smaller apartment that I wasnt there to look at. The reason it broke down was because it was completely empty. Being a good sport I thought it wouldnt hurt to look. The other leasing agent in the office at the time was called and told to come pick us up. We ended up walking for whatever reason a few buildings to look at the apartment I was there to see. Once we were done the other agent came to pick us up in the cart and that one too was almost completely empty. She laughed it off saying it happens all the time then continued to say how she would never fill up the tank because she doesnt want to smell like gas and it was not her fault. I laughed it off because I was trying to see the good in the community. It took me about a week to put in the application and before I did I specifically asked if I was be refunded what I paid. I was told yes with the exception of the $50 application fee. Seeing that I would get the other $150 back I didnt think it was a loss. So here we are weeks later and I decide not to sign because my current complex has dropped their prices and I can actually move into a larger bedroom than at the Ascent for the same exact price. Well of course they dont want to refund me now. Saying that their policy was only good for 72 hours. This I understand but I asked specifically if I could get my refund before I submit the application and I was told yes. The leasing agent should have reiterated that I would not get this back. If this was the case I would not have signed because like I said I had 3 months so I was not in a hurry to sign a new lease. Despite the terrible reviews I thought I should give them the benefit of the doubt but I was wrong to do so. I advise you not to sign with these people, its a scam. I have spoken with the leasing agent, assistant manager, as well as property manager and everyone refuses to help. I am waiting to hear from Mr. Sider from regional to see if he can help. This could have been avoided if they just told me the entire truth from the beginning instead of been so desperate for a lease. As of 4/10 I still have not heard from anyone. It has been almost a month.
The maintenance lady is very attentive and professional. She did a good job when she came over to my apt.
I had some initial issues when trying to obtain an apartment which were promptly addressed by management and staff. Lexsy and Ryan have been very helpful with the move in process and so far I have really enjoyed living in my apartment here.
The woman who cleans disinfects everything very well & is very kind! Always offers me a towel while working out and is very helpful
Edit: I am giving them 5 stars. We have lived here since December of 2018 and could not be happier. Kristi the Manager is amazing and very responsive to anything we need.We moved here in December from a home, purposely picked the top floor because we were concerned about noise. We have neighbors on both sides of us and they are super quiet. Have had very little maintenance issues and the ones we have had were responded to asap and the maintenance team is AMAZING!My husband and I appreciate all the rules this community has, without them this property would be like every other apartment community, full of dog poop and nothing but college parties at the pool.I love valet trash and the $30.00 monthly fee is a common among properties in the nation! I love that trash bags dont just sit outside until the tenant decides to take it out.Where they can improve is pest control in the exterior hall ways, full of spiders including the dog park. Cobwebs needs to be swept off the walls and ceilings and pressure wash the halls and stairs from time to time. The gates seem to always be broken and there could be better security at pool at night. I have seen people come in that do not live there and use the pool, leave their trash all over and the drive off.
Maggie keeps the facilities absolutely spotless! You know your able to utilize everything without fear of it being dirty.
Been a vendor at Ascent @ Crestabella for couple years. Property manager Kristi Mortan and staff, have always been very friendly, polite and professional. I definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for place to call home.
Super professional staff and beautiful community! The manager Kristi is up-beat, helpful, and responsive! (:
Went to tour the property a week ago and I think Ill be signing a lease here. Very nice property with a great team! Thank you Kristi for the tour and taking care of us!
Been here for two years and just renewed my leased again- really enjoy Kristi the new manager and her team. positive attitudes. Very responsive to minor maintenance & replacement issues. Great location - my place has a million dollar view!
Great modern complex with professional staff. Kristi Morton is always so helpful
Kristi was great when I called to get information for business associate moving to SA. She was able to answer all my questions and offered to let me view apartment and FaceTime my associate.
I have lived here for about 6 months now and I love it. The dog park is great and I always feel safe walking my dogs when I get home late at night. Everyone in the office is very nice and the maintenance staff has always been there to fix all the messes Ive caused. :)
One of the Worst place I ever live that the office staff never helps never answer my questions and VERY Disrespectful. This place is falling apart. Vehicles get stolen rims get stolen do not feel safe there thank God I moved on to a nicer and safer property. At least here the manager wasn’t taken away in handcuffs . I am very surprised she still works there. I do not and will not recommend this place to anyone.
The customer service is outstanding. The staff followed up with me every step of the process and made sure she could give the the best specials. Property is very nice and views are to die for. Dream Apartments for sure!!
Absolutely trash. The management will give you so many unreasonable warnings and extra fees. Don’t ever consider moving here.
Gorgeous property. The units are very nice and quiet. I have a friend who lives here and I visit often and I have never been able to hear any one in the halls or upstairs. It looks like the residents are very good at picking up after their dogs. I did have to visit the front office one time because I was having a hard time get in the gate and they are super friendly. They absolutely seem worth the price you pay.
Highly recommend it! Moved here in 2018. My daughters and I really love living here. Since day one staff has been very friendly. One night I heard something outside so I called cops & to my surprise the officer told me he had been patrolling the area for 7 years. He said it was his first time answering to a call here! I felt very safe especially from the reassurance that I got from the officer!!!! We walk our puppies day & night & feel very safe not to mention our incredible view!!!!!!
Highly Recommended!! I was one of the first people to move in here and I dont plan on moving out anytime soon. There was a management change several months ago and it was definitely for the better. The new staff has alway been very friendly and helpful. My favorite part about living here is the amazing views of the hills. I dont think there is a better place in San Antonio.
Called to inquire about apartment for our grand daughter spoke to a young lady named Ari. Very detailed and informative. Answered all my questions - told her would be stopping by with my grand daughter soon
The rent price is ridiculous. It is not worth it at all. I do not know what was I thinking in the beginning before I moved in. The walls between the apartment are way too THIN!! I can hear my neighbor’s alarm in the morning. And there are too many party people here. They do not care about other people and turn on loud music. Thanks to the base of music, my entire apartment was shaking! The staffs of this apartment are rude and never helpful. We already complained several times, but nothing changes! Ugh I wish I can get out of this place as soon as possible.
During the COVID-19 pandemic they’re ResidentDirect Service fee to pay your rent through their online portal was $135 and when when asked for an explanation they simply said that that’s just the way it is. They also sent out a notice March 16, 2020 to all residents of Carter Haston Properties saying some precautions they were taking, one of them was closing the office and only giving us the option to pay our rent online which gives you no option but to pay a $135 fee when doing so. They also continued to charge us for amenities that were closed during this pandemic. I’m not at all impressed with how they handled this situation or their explanation given considered I didn’t get any explanation. So to be clear they want me to pay $135 just to pay them my bill in the middle of a pandemic, I don’t ever remember paying more than maybe $40 to pay my rent online before these last 2 months. Also they never answer their phone, I’m convinced nobody is ever at the desk. Overall unimpressed.
DO NOT LIVE HERE!! These apartments do not care about the residents at all. They have sent out multiple reminders to us since Covid 19 has started about rent being due on the first of the month no exceptions, even to the peopl who have lost their jobs due to the covid pandemic! They even charged people EXTRA for mays rent just so they can pay their office employees! They are only worried about their money to pay their rude front office workers who talk down to their residents and are extremely unprofessional.*** Not only all that but the walls are completely thin you can hear EVERYTHING around you including the person Below you which makes no sense. There is NO HOT WATER in your shower or sinks basically if someone in your building uses hot water earlier than you forget about a hot bath it’s freezing cold. They let anyone come into the complex so there is never any parking for the residents just strangers who don’t live here and there are LOUD parties every day and there is NO courtesy patrol at all that is a lie! You have to just buy earplugs as I had to do to even sleep at all in these apartments. Let me tell you I have lived at many apartments but this would have to be the WORST place I have EVER lived and that’s including living with my parents! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT RENT HERE.
1. Took over a month for a leak from the apartment above to get fixed. I reported it and 2 weeks went by before maintenance came and saw that it was a much bigger deal than they thought. Ended up having 3 holes cut in my bathroom for over 2 weeks. In that time, I had to deal with multiple roaches, spiders and crickets as well as an overwhelming smell of weed from one of the neighbors. When I asked about pest control, the office said- “ oh we’re sorry- they came yesterday and won’t be back till next week”. No offer to set up the maintenance to come that next week.2. Upstairs neighbors (both, one moved out halfway through my lease) have been a nightmare. There were points throughout my lease where my wall were literally shaking from whatever they were doing up there and when I brought it to the offices attention, they actually said “ we can’t do anything, they’re living life just like you”.This new upstairs neighbor let’s their dog use the bathroom on their porch so it runs down on to mine - as of today, I reported this 2 weeks ago, 1 week ago and today- still nothing has been done. So now my porch smells like a portapotty.3. Jan 6th of this year, there were around 70-80 kids (what looked like highscool kids) shooting fireworks, partying and hotboxing the pool and clubhouse - at 1:30 in the morning. Those were my 3 biggest issue with living here- the property itself is nice but the manager- Kristi, is a headache to deal with.
We lived at Ascent for 2 years. Kristi and the rest of team were always very friendly and when there were any maintenance issues they were always quick to respond. We appreciate everything!
I am a new resident and had some issues finding packages that I had ordered. The delivery man had put my (three boxes) packages in three different lock boxes. I would never had received it if the assistant manager, Kristi, had not gone through each package lock box. Thank you again!
Ari was super friendly and helpful with the move in process! This place is a hidden beauty :)
We have lived here over a year. We are friendly with Travis and Kristy, and think very highly of them as people. However, they have an opportunity here, there are MANY issues that need to be addressed, but to do requires an investment.1. Car theft/vandalism... The gates have been repaired numerous times, but at some point, one has to question what the point of repairing the gate is if there is no countermeasures in place to prevent it from happening again. And to put a towing enforced sticker on a car victimized by poor security shows a complete lack of responsibility.2. Pool... Unless you are a college student looking for a party, this amenity is not the place to go, no matter how attractive it looks at night. Most there are non-residents, disrespectful of residents, and make it an unpleasant atmosphere. There was a statement recently about enforcing the wristbands, but like a lot of other things... no follow up.3. Dog Park... Fixing the drainage at the dog park was supposed to have started in January, never happened. While I use my own bags, a lot of others do not, and the public bags regularly run out over the weekends when staff dont take DNA samples, so people feel confident to not pick up after their dogs. Have seen other reviews with people railing about the DNA, but those are likely the folks that caused the place to get so nasty that it forced management to implement the policy.4. Amenities... There are many complaints about the upkeep of each, the pool area, the gym, the dog park. When we first leased, these were justifications for the rather high rents demanded. Now, after these amenities have fallen into disrepair, we notice an additional amenities fee in our rent. I would suggest repairing these amenities to a state that justifies a fee, people dont like paying for broken stuff.5. Courtesy Officer... Get someone who will actually answer, respond, and resolve... and most importantly, make sure they are SEEN doing this. A lot of the issues are coming to a head faster and more stressful than they have to because the courteous residents have lodged numerous complaints without any resolution. If issues were handled before a complaint had to be reported, the residents would be a lot less angry. I personally think an on-site courtesy officer would address a lot of the foremost issues.Travis and Kristy, I think, are doing the best they can with what they have. My suspicion is that the issue lies in decision makers above them. But kicking the can down the road just makes for a bigger can next time. The maintenance guys have been phenomenal for me. The neighbors that I have met have been nice and friendly.
Do not be fooled by the high-end appearance. Do NOT move in here unless you want to deal with awful management, throw away your money and lose your security deposit. Also, the recent positive reviews here are FAKE. Shows how desperate the new management is to lure unsuspecting tenants.
Dishonest management.I was charged extreme moveout charges.$450 for a new stove top that just needed cleaning but they said was damaged. (After only cooking on it this is impossible.) I called many other apartment complexes in the area who have these same kind of stoves and they all agreed with me having to replace a stove top after being the first tenant to use it is absurd.I paid $150 for the easy move out cleaning and assumed they could easily clean the stove but if I could go back I would have not trusted them and just done it myself. I asked for proof and all they could send me was a picture of it before it was cleaned. They had no proof of what it looked like after the cleaning.$100 for a gate opener I never received. They said it was on my lease and I told them the employee who wrote up my lease made that mistake. I told him I only needed one gate opener. I even went out of my way to find that previous employee from the previous management to prove to them that I was not making this up. He emailed the current management and they still said the charge remains.$80For pet cleaning and I didn’t have a pet. They said they found pee stains when the flipped the carpet and pet hair. This is impossible.I would never trust this management company again.
Very beautiful property, very quiet and peaceful. The views are amazing but all this is a plus to the staff. The assistant manager Kristine is one of the best assistant property managers I have come across. The entire staff and herself are very happy and helpful professional individuals.
I lived here for almost a year now .. I defiantly will move out as soon as my lease ends.. First the walls are too thin you can easily hear anything outside or even your neighbors.. Second, the parking always full, for two nights in a row I parked my car by the leasing office and I live in the last building in the complex ..so I have to walk for 0.4 mails to get to my building.. I also talked to the staff at the leasing office more than 4 times about this issue and they did not do anything about it .. I also talked to the manager about a month ago and he did nothing about it.. Ive seen cars get towed because they parked at the handicap spot because there wasnt any spot available.. Honestly, I was so happy when I moved in but now there is no way I,m going to renew my lease.
Everything is good staff, apartment, car parking, swimming pool but only problem is this they don’t have storage with patio .
Incredible views. Beautiful apartments and best of all the staff provides excellent service. My expectations are definitely exceeded and I strongly recommend this place
Horrible Place to live, Management team is terrible but besides that there are car break ins and cars being stolen and tires being stolen every other week the gates are never working and the gym is filthy. There is mold in multiple units and the maintenance crew wont do anything about it. Also they told us they were going to hire a new security team at the beginning of the year but they never did. They are losing so much money that they have started adding new fees to your rent that were never part of the lease. Seriously horrible place to live please be warned!!!! ALSO NOTE THAT THE GOOD REVIEWS ON HERE ARE FROM BEFORE THE NEW MANAGEMENT BOUGHT IT.
I would say overpriced for what you get. A family member lives here and you can hear easily through the walls. Small. Good views, but similar and less expensive options in the area.
I moved out before my lease was up because this place WAS THE WORST PLACE I EVER to live in!Rent cost is too high for how horrible this place is. My suggestion is if you can afford the $1600 to $2K rent then just rent a house. These apartments were built CHEAP. I had black mold in one my closets because the construction of the building allowed for water to seep in from either a leak in the roof or the puddles of water that would be standing right next to the building after any rain. I had a yard and my yard would be a large lake when it rained. I informed the maintenance about the water issues in our yard and they said that they would not fix the issue and the water would just need to slowly evaporate or “drain” away. The mosquitoes were in full force after a nice summer rain since the standing water would attract them and I could not go outside and enjoy my patio/yard.You will hear every noise from your neighbor. The reviews that say how thin the walls/ceilings are absolutely true. I lived on the bottom floor and I had tenants above me that I heard just about every move they made. If you do not live on the top floor then do not live here. You will hear every step your upstairs neighbor takes. My upstairs neighbor would stomp around all day and night. You can hear when your upstairs neighbor showers, uses the toilet, vacuums, opens/closes doors. I felt like I was living in cheap Section 8 housing apartment. No place to park. There is not enough open parking spots for tenants and many times I had to park two building down from mine. There are cover parking and garages to rent but the cost to rent them are ridiculously high.Dog poop everywhere. I would say about half the tenants that have dogs do not pick up after them. So, the complex would wreak in the summer time with all the dog poop around and the flies would be horrible. The dog park is disgusting. I stopped taking my dog to the dog park area because of the dog poop all over the place and my dogs would get sick. My vet advised me to never take my dog there since the tenants and maintenance would not pick up the dog poop or hose down the area. The place always smelled of dog poop and urine so I felt bad for the tenants that lived around the park. Also, when it rained the gravel flooring would become a mud pit and maintenance would not go there after the rain and spread out the gravel. The gym equipment was always broken and never fixed in a timely manner. There would be equipment broken for months at a time.Security is a joke! There are not enough security cameras around the complex. Tenant’s cars would get broken into or even stolen from this complex. The two gates are always breaking down so many times the gates are left open for anyone to drive into the complex. The complex has a security officer on duty but I would call the number and the security officer had another job and could not respond to my call. My advice is just call police and skip calling the security officer all together because they were never available. There more issues I have but this review section only allows so many characters.Overall this place is selling you a bunch of lies. The rent is far too expensive for what you will actually get. I am so thankful I got the hell out of that place.
I have several pictures of the theft and vandalism that happens EVERY week in this apartment complex. Both to my personal property and my neighbors.I only have a month left in my lease and have expressed my interest in moving out early because I feel so unsafe living here. They do not seem to want to work with me on moving out. There is theft and break ins happening right outside my apartment window and as a young female I do not feel safe sleeping in my apartment at night time.If you are a working professional with a nice car do not move here. You will be a target.A F250 was stolen in front of building 10 my building and a car sits on blocks now from the tires being stolen again in front of building 10.Not only did the car get its tires stolen but the apartment management is terrible and does not seem to share a concern for the residents safety. Instead- they decided to put a “towing enforced sticker” on the vehicle that got its tires stolen, showing no sympathy for its residents. Each resident probably pays anywhere from 1200+ for rent, yet they don’t even hire a security guard. If you ask to see the surveillance they say “the police department will take care of it”.The truck that got stolen? Well the apartment management told him he had to buy a new gate clicker. The apartment pays no attention to the safety and concern of their residents... yet are super fast to charge you penalties for leaving your empty trash bin out for 3 Hours in front of your front door... because you decided to sleep in that day. Maybe if they paid more attention to the concerns of their residents I wouldn’t be so angry to write this review.I am terrified to live in my apartment even with one month left.Let’s not forget to mention that they may have lowered their prequalifications on renters... either that or multiple people are shacking up in a small apartment because there’s now more college students, it’s loud at night... and I have to wait 30 minutes just to find a parking space.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! This is not a safe place to live in, there are trucks that are getting stolen, and according to residents it is an ongoing problem that management is aware of, but has not taken the appropriate steps to stop. I have lived here a total of one week and have gotten my trucks tires and rims stolen. A neighbor of mine had his truck stolen the very same night. There are people leaving left and right because they are sick of all the theft that happens here. THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!
Fun community and great staff. Feels like college. It’s great and there’s fun neighbors
Currently has a great manager, we had a noise complaint that was addressed. Also locked out of our room, which was handled promptly and professionally.
I give this property 4 star because I haven’t lease there yet, but luke was the person who show me around the property he was awesome he made me feel home and he understood what I was looking for.
The website dies not give actual pictures or much information about the property. While I was on the website I did a live chat and the person was helpful, but could not give me info regarding property amenities, finishes, or parking and directed me to the property to see for myself or to call. When I called the property the girl quoted me $200 + over the rates the gentleman gave me on the chat and over what the website shows. For anyone not in the area and trying to relocate these inconsistencies are super inconvenient and turns future tenants away. Definitely needs better management and updated information on all fronts. I see it as a foresight into daily life on the community and only see hassle. *Disappointing
Do not recommend this place, beyond the beauty there is nothing else, thoughtless and unfriendly management! For this price do for you favor and do not close at this place!!
I would NEVER recommend this place unless you have a ton of money just laying around that you dont really need!!! Wish I would have known about all the RULES and VIOLATION FINES BEFORE we moved in! Yes it is beautiful, yes the view is amazing ( of course it costs extra depending on what view you have) and yes the staff is great but here are the money-pits...First, it IS a pet friendly complex BUT you pay $150 Pet Fee/$150 Pet Deposit per pet at move in so if you have 2 pets, thats $600 and $20 per pet each month in pet rent. You have to have your pets registered and get a DNA mouth swab that costs $100 per pet or you will be fined $350 plus $10 a day each day the pet is on the premises until you do. They presented this wonderful new service under the guise of caring about our furry friends when in reality they are using it to be able to determine who isnt picking up their dogs poop. If you dont pick up after your pet, they will collect the poop and match it to the DNA and you will be fined, a non-negotiable $350 for first offense, $450 second offense and $550 plus eviction for third offense. If you have an apartment with a small yard(which costs extra of course!) the same rules and fees apply to you too and they conduct random yard inspections. So... you can HAVE a great little yard for your dogs but just make sure they can be trained to use the porcelain friend inside because God forbid they poop outside and your not walking behind them as they go, to be able to catch it!...wait...I forgot...they cant GO OUT unless YOU are out there WITH them because they are also not allowed to BARK!!! If they DO bark too much and someone calls you in, then guess what? you get fined!!! Second...you have to pay $30 a month for valet trash pick-up and no, you cant opt out of this either. They give you a small kitchen trash can and a small recycling trash can. Your trash cannot be too full, you cant put another bag on top, or anything else (like pizza boxes) and same for the recycle one. You must not put it out before 6pm and you must pick up the empty cans before 9am the next morning and they dont pick up on Friday and Saturdays at all. Dont worry!, they give you a long list of trash dos and donts( that you should laminate and stick on your fridge) because If you DO get any of it wrong or somehow forget the rules, then guess what? You get fined anywhere from $25 to $75 per bag depending on how many times you mess up. Third...your patios can ONLY have patio furniture or outdoor plants..NOTHING ELSE...or...you guessed it! Are you catching on? Wait!!! theres more! Fourth...You will be given wrist bands for you and your guests to use the pool. You can only take 3 guests per household. A courtesy officer will be patrolling at all times and If you or your guests dont have the proper wristband on, then your guests will be treated as trespassers and you...wait for it...Yep! You will be fined. If you lose any of the wristbands, which are given at move-in, you will have to pay for the one/ones lost and a new one. Have you gotten out your calculator yet? Last, but definitely, not least, I would like to mention that this is a gated community at the higher end of apartment rentals. However, this part of town is not lacking in new apartments going up everywhere and this one does not offer anything that the others dont have as well. That being said, our truck was stolen from right in front of our door here in our high end, gated community, and when we asked if we have security cameras in the parking lot they said no. We asked if the courtesy officer was on duty and the answer was yes but somehow our vehicle being broken into and driven off wasnt seen or heard. Guess they were busy patrolling the pool for wristbands? We have always believed that you get what you pay for, but here at the Ascent, you dont. You just pay...and pay...and...
-5 star rating. Please dont move here. When we first moved here back in October, before another management company took over, there was no crime. Just in the last month, over 20 calls for burglary have been made. My boyfriend and & I want out of our lease now! Countless number of trucks have been stolen & damaged. Right now we have police on the way to report yet another vandalism made to now our third truck. Our first truck (Ford) had the door handle ripped and only because it was a push start ignition they couldnt steal it. They dumped soda & other liquids (out of spite) in the interior. While that truck was being repaired. Our loaner truck (Ford) was also vandalized. Door handle again ripped off & keyed on sides out of spite (another push start). A neighbors truck (parked next to my car) had all four tires stolen & left on cinder blocks. All management did was slap a towing warning on our neighbors truck. Each time, renters have complained to management and asked them what has been done to increase our security?! We have been told lies. They have reported that there is a 24 hr hotline help number, that if you call, no one answers ever & no one returns your voicemail. We have never seen the supposed security guard they have hired to patrol. If they did hire a company we would see signs posted all over GPS protected. Not to mention the gates have not worked for over 3 months, so they have been left wide open, as an invite. Management has been more concerned with charging & enforcing their new puppy poo DNA rules. They constantly blew up renters phones about bringing their dog down to the office for a swab DNA or else there would be $100 fee and they would find you (not written in our lease). This allows them to charge you $300 if they have to pick up your dog poop. This morning my boyfriends brand new GMC truck was vandalized. The door & the door handle are wrecked. They used stones to break the handle off. When they couldnt get inside of the truck they cut his brake wires. We now have to spend our day getting a tow truck, filing insurance claims & getting yet another loaner vehicle. SAPD is on the way now & we are moving out of here ASAP. Management has done nothing to ensure our safety. They have continued to raise the price on the apartments & even allowed college students to live here (above the maximum per household). This use to be a quiet neighborhood, but now it is overpopulated with late-night parties, blunts found on the ground, beer cans littered, drug dealers & thieves.
This a very beautiful Apartments nice ppl and very well kept place it reminds me of home in some way ...the hills like San Francisco, love the view is beautiful make u feel like home and on vacation when he by the pool are ... home away from home ... I will make this place my next home
Revising my initial 5 star review to 6 stars, been here almost 2 years and the new management and ownership group have been attentive to any issues that arise. The office manager (travis) and assistant manager (kristy) are rockstars and really know how to run a development of this size and stature; sharp, friendly and attentive. The perks, pool and views speak for themselves. The location is perfect for anyone working at USAA, UTSA, Medical Center or in the Rim/La Cantera area. The only issue I can point to, because this wouldnt be a real review without it: Before the new ownership group took over last year, we had pet poo issues, but that problem has more than corrected itself through effective management and stern warnings. Although the policy was always to pick up after your pet, policy is worthless without management enforcing it, and enforce it they have. I NEVER see pet poo anymore, stark contrast to the way things were. Big shout out to the new ownership/management group for turning an annoying issue into a non-issue. The maintenance team is also very friendly and attentive (richard and carlos) Bravo! Keep up the good work! Ok, I accept payment in the form of gold, silver, chocolate and/or free rent ;)
Nice staff, beautiful property, just opened, a little pricey, but good.
Ridiculously way too large of a complex...makes you feel like a number, not a person. Poor design.
Awsome place nice people!
Nice apartments, nice pool, well kept grounds
