Don’t move to this place ! this place has been the worst place I have ever lived it is infected with cockroaches with flukes with rats The maintenance service is terrible and the service in the office is the worst, The current manager has no sense of service, they have no education and good treatment for people who live here and pay rent, it takes a month two months to repair a problem that is many! It doesnt matter how many times you call, they never answer any calls. Not counting the experiences, The area is bad I Got stole my muffler from my car, stolen several Amazon packages, The mail box lockers are stolen and are open, The pool is never clean and you can never use any amenities.

This is by far the most disgusting and stressful apartment complex I’ve ever lived at. I wouldn’t even give them the one star if possible. I would give them negative 5 stars. The air conditioning has been broken for months and the management is unresponsive. The apartments are INFESTED with bugs, the roaches and gnats are unbearable. You can’t even eat in these apartments without having a roach run across your food first. It’s absolutely disgusting. Our garbage disposal broke a couple months into living here and has never been fixed. They have been charging close to $400 over our set rent price, along with money that you’ve paid for rent and other things that will go “missing”. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to go up to the management office and demand to know just exactly where my money has gone. The management steals from you and doesn’t even have the decency to pretend they care. They won’t answer your calls, the front office is almost always closed. They ignore all emails and service requests too. When you finally do get ahold of the staff they are rude and ugly to you. If you’re lucky they will hang up the phone mid call. If you’re unlucky they will start stealing your money and having no record of your rent paid. They have a habit of making $1000 magically disappear, until you go up to the front office and start confronting people.We have also had countless other problems in this apartment that have yet to be fixed.•only one burner on the stove works•our screen door has been off the hinges•constant leaks from ALL faucets•shower is nearly unusable•countless outlets don’t and have never worked•mold everywhereMost of our neighbors have left before their lease was up and the others are also looking for other places like us.The ONLY thing the management seems concerned about is the grass. I think all of their time and money must go into making sure the grass looks decent. (Or the parking lot being repainted if you care about that) It happens about three times a week for about 4 hours. The maintenance men will cut the same square of grass (mainly dirt) for hours and then two days later they are back. So if you like hearing a lawnmower from 8 am to 11 am, three times a week then this is the place for you.This is the absolute worst apartment complex, and I’m surprised they haven’t been sued yet.So save your time and money and don’t even give these apartments a second look.
I have lived here for 4 months and honestly the manager asst Ms.Martha has made me feel at HOME shes always available, very friendly and just a pleasant manager asst. From day 1 she has been helpful. If you are looking for a home I suggest you put in an application. My apartment is upgraded and looks like a hotel... Nice and clean and most of all.peat free...
By far the absolute worst apartment complex that i have ever lived in. You get charged for pest control that never shows up. Forget trying to call the management office. Even if you get a hold of someone, they put you on hold for over an hour or tell you that they will get back to you before the day ends but never do. One of the managers is sleeping with residents. The main manager has an attitude and rolls her eyes at you. Reported a leak in the master bathroom of my 2/2 and nothing was ever done about it. Needless to say that the ceiling finally ended up collapsing. Reported that the shower valve wouldnt stop running. Nothing was done about it until the day i moved out. Trash is never in the dumpster, but always thrown all over the parking lot.
Got charged 1,700$ for a mistake that was made by a lazy worker. Told us they couldn’t fix THEIR PROBLEM. Also said we can pay in payments for the 1,700$ .100% would not recommend. Lights only in the closet and restroom. Literally not the apartments they showed us. Every month rent keeps getting higher. Infested with roaches. Maintenance does not come by. Trash is ALWAYS OVER FILLED. Car got broken into TWICE!
Our nightmare with Barcelo started with Melia. We put money down to live there and they took out deposit and didnt have a place for us to move into to. They attempted to fix the issue by offering us a place here. Roaches have been the issue since we moved in but Ive learned that every apartment in SA has roaches. They make us pay pest control but nobody comes out. We reached out so many times and nobody ever got back to us. We later found out THAT MANAGEMENT WAS IGNORING OUR EMAILS. Emails that pertained to us paying rent. The new management comes in and slaps us with an eviction out of nowhere. We showed that we had been working rental assistance programs and set up to make payment. We do not trust their online payment because the one time we used it they put our account in the hole and told us they could not fix the issue. We call and finally get an an answer and they tell us well you missed the payment (we are not off of work until they close and do not trust leaving documents with them due to how theyve done us before) so now youre evicted. After the Martha told us she would return our call (which she never did). This place is a mess. From the drug addict repairmen, roaches, possums crawling and procreating in the crawl spaces to the horrible communication. We complained About our neighbors only to not be taken seriously. This place is a joke and they change management and do not tell the residents. Do not move here. You will regret it.Ive been here for 7 months and Ive dealt with leaking ceilings in both bathrooms and my kitchen. The hot water in the master bathroom would not turn off and destroyed the tub. The a/c unit was broken, the water gets cut off with no warning, the water runs cold, NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER. And Ive made several complaints about my neighbors throwing trash into my balcony and nobody cared. Martha she came off caring but I realized she was just trying to get me and my spouse off the phone. The staff is very rude the young man at the front desk was very pushy towards my husband because he was coming in close to closing time. They have a maintenance line that never works. Its a mess! To think we tried to have a payment plan with a business that treats us this way. I have photos and videos to support all the statements Ive made.
My heater is broken and my master shower constantly runs on hot water. The water is steady enough to where my mirror fogs up and my walls sweat (this is with the exhaust fan on). I put service requests in 2 days ago and nothing. I have continuously called the office and nobody answers. After walking down to the office I saw that they are taking precautions and will work from home. I did not receive any type of email, text, or call letting me know they would be remote and where to call if I needed help. God forbid you don’t pay your rent and they’re already on you to pay. I’ve had to call 4 times already to emergency maintenance. I was told multiple times that someone would be out to help only to not hear from anyone. You think that with the dropping temperatures they would understand my frustration with my broken heater and running hot water but no. I also suggested that I stay in a hotel but only if I was reimbursed and I was told to stay at my apartment. I also suggested that I call a plumber myself and an ac technician and they also declined that because they don’t want to pay. At this point my hands are tied because I’m paying 1300 a month for a poor quality apartment and unprofessional management.
I have to admit I just moved in and the apartment wasn’t quiet what I expected from The model shown. However the staff has been extremely professional and courteous. The first couple of days I moved in, I had major issues with my apartment. I was screaming internally but the maintenance crew was extremely helpful and was able to resolve all and any issues with my apartment. Trust me, I put about 5 work orders in and I had all hands on deck to help. It’s my understanding the previous staff didn’t keep up with the work load but the new staff is great! Martha, Felix and Gilbert definitely helped out with lots of issues.
First of all I moved in right when the pandemic happened and the previous management was horrible, however when the new management came in Karina showed a lot of drive for wanting to get everything in order and resolve maintenance issues. HOWEVER when she hired Martha she took this new management three steps back by her lack of professionalism and knowledge. She has a nasty attitude and a lack of empathy. Please consider getting more properly trained, knowledgeable, and efficient staff.
Just over two months since moving in. Problem after problem. Plumbing issues, mice in walls, roaches, unresponsive leasing office, unfinished maintenance requests, stolen packages, broken mailboxes, no parking in front of your building, overloaded dumpsters. In just two months I have made the worst decision in living at Barcelo. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy. Just not worth it. If I could give 0 stars, I most definitely would.And if the property or regional manager reads this. Save it. Should be ashamed of your property.
First Impressions are key! As a property manager myself I know how busy things can be however, I simply called to confirm someone had received our rental history form on a previous tenant and the customer service was less than desirable. Marthas phone introduction was sub par (I had to call back and ask for her name) but her phone edicate was extremely tacky and unprofessional. After two emails and 5 calls to finally reach someone I should have been the disgruntled party. You can catch more bees with honey than vinegar they say. I truly hope this was perhaps just an off day but from the looks of the reviews Im going to bet otherwise.
Prior to moving into these apartments the office staff was great and efficient after that residing in these apartments there’s a total different ball game such as getting things done in a timely manner and my apartment is infested with possums I’ve had this issue since I moved in back in December it is now February and nothing has been done I could no longer turn my bathroom fan on due to the stench of the animals residing in my apartment this is unhealthy this is unsafe you’re a holes on the exterior part of the apartmentDwelling where the animals are getting in I have sent pictures after pictures still waiting for something to get done at this point I’m get ready take other measures if somethings not done
I been thru so much with staying here and I met Ms.Martha she is so helpful she helped me and my family out sooooooo much.so if you thinking about moving in go see Ms.Martha she would help you out a lot she’s the best hands down😍
Ive been here almost 3 months now and still cant get anyone to come fix our washer vault ive made several service request over phone and online and in office and still no one comes to fix it ive gone 3 months without washing in my own apt ridiculous!!!!
UPDATE: Ive been living here for 3 months now and have not had a usable dishwasher. Ive also repeatedly brought up that there is a rat/mouse issue to the leasing office and keep getting told were gonna call you right back to receive no response. Water pours into our bedroom every time it rains. I wonder if the people in the leasing office go home to their apartments and see rats and a not usable dishwasher as no big deal. My family is extremely discouraged and feel genuinely not cared about by the office staff of this complex. We wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of the rats in the walls scratching and squeaking. Were repeatedly told the issue would be handled and it never is.PLEASE dont be fooled during your tour or the rates. Once you move in its an entirely different story.
I do not have hot water.I have not had hot water for most of the month of October. I keep getting lip service, being told that they are working on it, still with no hot water.Do not move in here. They do not care about you.12/30/20 Update:Once again no hot water. The ofgice is stonewalling me. They will wany my money on the first, whether I have hot water or not.Happy New Year.
I’ve lived here for a year and I hate it. They do not answer the phone and even if you report any maintenance they don’t come. There is a horrible PEST infestation and they won’t do anything about it. If you have small children this place is a BIG no they will not be safe due to how run down and unkept it is.
Maintenance is horrible here there was a emergency maintenance request put in at 6:30 pm and it never got dealt with ....The emergency maintenance kept on saying the job was accepted and no one ended up showing up !!!
The office staff were extremely nice. They made the process really easy and fast which is much appreciated being a single mom. Stephanie and Jeannie were amazing! I love the layout of my place and it feels like a home. I like the area and I dont mind walking to my car early in the morning or late at night.
My Husband and I have lived at these apartments 8 years. We have seen our home come a long way from 2011. We recently renewed and are thankful that the staff at Barcelo as been so kind and courteous. They recently walked us through setting up our online resident portal to pay rent. They are just dolls. The maintenance man that has been here 6 years does his best to keep our home kept up daily. Overall its a great place to call home and hope we can stay a while.

The display room was amazing clean environment. But when we got the key for our first day to our apartment. They stated they clean it and it was ready to move in! some of the rooms lights switch didn’t work. Also floors where dirty and cover with paint, doors room had holes cover by paint. Both bathrooms and ac in the ceiling had mold. I wouldn’t recommend also over heard the manager yelling at a person because they couldn’t fix a a broken window. That’s some great management for Barcelona apartments.

I would like to say how happy I am that they have a new management team in the leasing office. It’s been such a breath of fresh air and you truly receive the excellent customer service that all residents should receive from the leasing office!
(PART 3) We never caused any issues with the office staff, but we always had issues with them. Like I said, they were always quick to confront us about issues, but when we told them any issues we had, we would get told a bunch of excuses and lies. Every time there would be a new employee in the office, I would have a shred of hope that the new person would be different, but it seems as if being a ‘liar’ is part of the job description.I don’t like writing bad reviews, but this place needs as many as it can get. If this review or any other reviews stops even one person from choosing to rent here, I will be happy. We were trying to buy a home in 2018, and even if it hadn’t happened, we were looking for anywhere else to move just to get out of that place. We were hoping each time we renewed our lease that things would get better, but as time passed, we quickly realized once we signed the lease, we were no longer a priority. They were getting their money, and that is all they cared about.The amount of issues that never got resolved, the amount of things I had to figure out how to fix myself because I knew it would take maintenance at least a month to come out and fix it, the amount of times I was lied to by staff, the quality of people that they choose to hire, makes this place not worth living in.The first 6 months of living here were great! Maintenance issues were resolved within days, staff was always helpful, and we had 0 issues. But once they were sold to another company, things went from great, to horrible, and slowly started beginning to fall apart. This is when it slowly went from a 3.4 to a 1.7. And if a place can drop from that high to that low, then that should speak for itself. I am not just one person with a horrible experience, there is review after review of how horrible this place is, and should not be taken lightly.If you do choose to move here, don’t expect much help from staff (the maintenance were never any trouble, just take a while to get to repairs, but they are very nice and above and beyond helpful in my experience) and if the office staff tells you something, don’t expect it to be the truth. And expect that getting a unit without cockroaches seems to be a ‘luck of the draw’ sort of thing because it seems to be an endless issue with a lot of tenants, and does not seems to be resolved. I have also read people have mice or rats as well and the office staff didn’t care less.I don’t know what else I can say except, really consider any other options you have before considering moving into this place.It is nice on the outside, and the staff can really put on a show about how much they care, but on the inside, this place, and its staff are nothing like they seem.And the fact that I was willing to make 3 separate google accounts to get my review out there should say a lot!
First off, I just want to say that I am a real tenant who is finishing up a 14 month lease at this place, but overall my experience wasn’t too bad. I did have roaches like I’ve never seen before whether my apartment was clean or not, but roach traps helped tremendously. That’s not an excuse, but my situation was livable. I did not have a rat problem, though. They do paint over everything and it’s totally noticeable. The washers and dryers suck, and it’s up to the residents to call out to third-party vendors to get it serviced. Make sure you do a thorough, thorough walk through of your unit. The major issue I couldn’t predict was that when it rained really hard, rain water would creep in under the walls/foundation and would soak my carpet about two feet in. That was annoying, and some fellow tenants had it way worse than I do.As for staff interaction, I have dealt with WAAAAAY worse, inconsiderate faculty in this line of work (Deer Oaks Apartments) than the people at Barcelo. Ben and Stephanie are very tentative with my requests and needs while keeping an open line of communication, but neighbors have told me they don’t receive the treatment apparently. Maintenance guys live on property and they are really kind and understanding, not once did I have a rude interaction with them.In summary, all apartments priced similarly in this medical center area have the same problems, more or less, you just have to decide which ones suck the least. My coworker lives here and it is outrageous they never respond to maintenance calls there is mold all over the place. There is homeless people breaking in to empty units and living there. The management team sucks here very unprofessional.
Barcelo has been going through great new changes! Besides being good location, there js plenty to do around the area. A big thank you to all the staff for always helping and having a smile. Maintenance has been cleaning up the buildings and it looks good!
New management seems to be staying on top of things maintenance are good they do there best to address issues in a timely manner. I had problems with the old management when I moved in the AC wasnt working properly & my light bill was crazy due to them not wanting to address the issue. The complex is in a beautiful location close to the interstate and shopping areas.
Just moved in maybe 4 months ago. There has been a series of problems, A/C didn’t work at first, both rest rooms water wouldnt stop running and no hot showers for a week or more. Was told it was newly renovated, which wasnt true, I currently have a variety of leaks from my ceiling. To be paying near $1,400 is insanity, after listing said 1,200. Also topping THIER property insurance on tenants, yeah highly wouldnt recommend.
Management pays attention! Some things are not in their power to prevent but once it’s called to their attention they schedule maintenance. Maintenance also get a tip of my hat 🎩. Grounds are kept up and for the most part the tenants pitch in. The pool/pizza back to school parties are a great idea for families. We live in a centralized location so with all that said: What’s there not to like?
I love this place I came here from Killeen TX and out of all the apartments I have been to this one was the best my agent was Jeanie when I felt like there was no hope in getting my kids and I a place to live as soon as I walked in the business office she was right there with great customer service understanding my situation and went above and beyond to help me and kept me updated every step of the way my kids and I love our new HOME and its because of her and Barcelo Apartments that we have one ❤

My little family and I moved in a few weeks ago & the lovely ladies at the front were so amazing!💕 we didn’t expect to even get an apartment as quick as they got us one. We were trying to get the 3 bedrooms apartment they have downstairs but it didnt went thru because the management just gave it to somebody else who later apply after us..the thing that pisses me off is when they assured us that we gonna get the apartment we even did the application and constantly in contact wit there agent and they going to say we looks like we not sure that we going to get thats y they gave it to somebody else.. Yall always gives us the round around that they still fixing the apartment and stuff but yall just gonna give it to somebody else.. They are not man of there word that first come first serve..
My rent is gradually going up and up. The hidden fees will kill you. But also recently my mom got into a fender bender in my truck w the office lady Amanda and her side dude and she gave my him address and he’s been threatening thru text to come to my door “cause he knows where I live” and ever since then my bill has gone UP UP. next step is property Management.
Maintenance is pretty quick, and are cool people. Office staff is nice and listened to concerns. overall a good size apt and im happy with it.
Crystal and the other girls in the office made me feel right at home from the start. Although I was not ready to make a decision about a apartment that day, they gave me all the information I needed. I will definately recommend Barcelo to my family and friends .
I made a ticket for maintenance and it took them a month to fix what I needed to get fixed. You pay $980 for a 2 bedroom apartment and it has no parking like other apartments. We have to park in the street.
This apartment complex is trash. They have a serious roach problem. Work orders take too long to get completed and when they rarely are, it’s half a$$ed done. Management is worthless. Be prepared for your apartment to be in the mid 80s during the summer no matter what you put your temp at. And for them to send an email stating that’s normal. Also serval times a month with out water. And don’t expect to get a deposit back they steal that from you one way or another. They tell you one thing and do a complete opposite.
I love these apartments. Aside, from there not being washer/dryer hook ups in my apartment and the laundry facilities only have a few washers and dryers, these apartments are great! Good price, nice size, not noisy. I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone. In fact, I recommended them to my friends and they loved them too and moved in.
They are great, an they really work with you when life throws curve balls at you. All it takes is communication. They always looking for better ways to improve things to make sure their residents are happy.
Even though we came into situations (sickness and then a newborn) where it made us behind on rent and we still owe 557.00 We are more than ready and willing to finish up this lease. 😩😭 The trash people come every morning. I wish maintenance would at least close the gate so that my husband and I can stop picking up trash in front of our apartment. Supposedly theirs a new property management, so hopefully they’ll make drastic changes so people can be comfortable with where they live.
First moving in, everything seems okay. There are roaches everywhere though and the interior needs a lot of work. It seems like it was just painted over to look nice, but theres a hole in the wall covered by tape.Did put in a work order to fix some door frame issues, but they claimed they couldnt enter the apartment even though no one was home to lock the dead bolt.Its currently 34 degrees and there has not been any hot or warm water for a week. The AC never keeps a steady temperature. The area is terrible, had a package stolen from my doorstep only to find the item thrown in the mud outside. Teenagers harass cars.Im just waiting for my lease to be over so I can move away.
Between battling with front desk and maintenance over what is considered hot shower water and over spray on my hardwood floors to unanswered or incomplete work orders this place is disappointing by a far margin. To add insult to injury, the staff feigns interest in a problem or refuses to help, not to mention attitude from the engineers and front desk. Customer service is obviously of no concern here. I have submitted work orders numerous times with no action or difference, often times leaving out of town and alerting the complex so that they may be able to work without delay. For this place to charge the amount they have in fees alone (non-refundable) and have such a poor product and service is a disgrace. The entire staff from front desk to engineering to management, is in desperate need of replacing/retraining. Charge the tenant the worth of the apartment, the price listed is not an accurate representation of what youre signing up for with the lackluster characters working here being the biggest deterrent. Dont tell me Im getting quality when Im getting garbage.
If I could give a 0 I would Im so thankful my 15 month lease is over!! they just billed me and additional 145.00 mind you i paid rent rent 900.00 on first just to make it difficult for me to leave . Honestly I would pay 500.00 more gladly knowing jan 31 I will never have to deal with roaches and feel secure and be able to cook in my kitchen again! This apartment has made me grateful that I have the means to move and never look back
I toured today with Heather and I wish more people would be like her she is very professional and knowledgeable, customer satisfaction and I want to make her my best friend. To bad the would not be why I write this review but she has me applying just because of her!
I do not live here but had to rate in order to post. I am in the process of moving to Texas from the East Coast due to work and currently looking for a new home. Ideally, I would overlook one or two bad reviews and give a place the benefit of doubt. However, having all of these bad reviews are telling. I guess Ill have to look somehwere else. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. Makes making a decision easier. To the management team; get it together. Cant you see these reviews affect potential rentals.
My family and I lived at this complex for 4 years and recently moved out. We loved the area and the schools but unfortunately the complex was not what we expected. We were very unhappy with everything! The apartment itself had many issues which never got fixed. For example when our A/C unit broke down(more than once ) it would take them weeks to fix. Just to name one. Also the office staff is very unprofessional, rude and lazy. They will not answer the phone and when they do they give you the run around. We went to speak to the office manager Crystal about a situation and turned out she is the same. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Worst apartments ever roach infested apartment. When you pay online it still doesnt count as an on-time payment even though its due the same day and moved out three years ago trying to get an apartment now but have to pay an extra $250 for deposit because they didnt keep a record of me living there
Maintenance was the only good thing here. The office staff was unprofessional, especially Tammy, she would roll her eyes at you as if she was not getting paid to do her job, which is still not my problem. No communication between them either, one would tell me something and the other would tell me something entirely different, just chaotic. Crystal was only interested in you if you were going to sign a lease, after that she didnt give a rats behind about you or your needs.
This place is the absolute worst. From day one there has been nothing but problems.-Constant gun shots at night-Police are always called there-Apartments have a really bad roach and RAT problem inside.-Mold problem-There is never any parking-The front office never answers the phone-It took a month to fix a leak from my kitchen sink. I was unable to use the cold water.-Walls will warp and cause holes-They shut the water off whenever without notifying residents-There were still random nails and tacks on my walls that they pained over-The doors looked like the previous owner had a pet since there was missing wood and paint pieces but they just painted over it. Extremely noticeable.-I had a bowl in my fridge to catch water since they never fixed the leak there-Sinks/faucet, fridge, tub faucet and AC constantly leaked and they took 3+ weeks to resolve any issues. Even after calling several times since I could never reach anyone.-Several outlets did not work and they never fixed it-Paint on the doors would start to chip and fall off.-When it would rain the paint on the roof would start to warp and you saw water pockets.-When they would come by to resolve a issue they would say it was fixed and it was not fixed at all.I have taken several photos and videos since I have moved in due to the issues from the start. I am truly grateful my lease has come to its end. This place is ridiculous. I have literally caught over 15 mice in my apt. One was dead in a pitcher and I could not figure out for the longest time what the smell was. The roaches are just as bad. And when you submit a request nothing gets done. What’s the point of adding pest control to our rent if they won’t come out regularly. Submitting maintenance request multiple times cause “it was never submitted”. And they take up to a month to fix the problem. The maintenance guys themselves are really nice but definitely over worked for the amount of units there is 2 is not enough. The dumpsters are extremely far from some of the units. Frequent water issues with no courtesy notice, as well as AC issues in the middle of the summer with absolutely no rush on their end. Parking is a constant issue and the neighborhood is very unsafe. From swat units on the property to roberries on the regular including armed and breaking into vehicles. When I signed my lease I clearly remember a resident telling me don’t do it. I should of listened. Don’t move here!
Worst apartment ever!!! I put one star just to write about it. Staff is the worse Crystal Hernandez should be fired and never hired again. I have black mold keeping my daughter sick as well as myself. They delayed response to fix it. When the did so call fix it they wiped with bleach and painted. Then left live mold spores growing out the wall I had to catch maintenance outside to tell him about the half ass job. I then had upstairs neighbor flood my apartment and ceiling fell on me. Went to office these unethical morons call the cops because Im irate well of course I am. I have been paying rent for a home my children and I cannot live in. I cannot wait to see these people fail. Fair housing sent over information to release me from my lease with documents from my daughters doctor. Crystal (idiot manager) calls inquiring on health records to avoid responsibility for the issue. They have my entire apartment wrapped in plastic never offered proper lodging for my kids and I. Finally she wanted to let me out of a lease after numerous attempts, however asked me sign that I would take $300 and not sue. This is how you know they are at fault and due to me not agreeing to the $300 and not suing she wants to keep me in this hell hole. The news came out they refused to talk which means they are fully aware they are at fault. I have been so miserable while living here few months back I had a bee hive outside my apartment everyday Id be getting approximately 30 living bees in my apartment I advised them now theyve sealed my window as though thats not a safety issue. If you love your family please stay out of this DEATH TRAP!! I have to pray fo sanity every day these apartments and staff have ruined my life.
*****UPDATE*****I moved out of this complex on October 1 2015 and on December 7 2015 they charged my account (WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION) in the amount of $102.00. My husband went to the complex to get it back and they refused to give it back. They confirmed they received the amount but said the account is a one way system Im not sure they understand how a bank account works. We left in October with the managers signature on our lease saying we were transferring the apartment to the new tenant. As of October 1 2015 we were no longer responsible for the apartment, the new tenant is, and somehow, here we are again, fighting to get back money that was STOLEN from us by Barcelo. Again, I dont recommend moving here, and that is based on the COUNTLESS issues i have with them even after no longer being a residentHated this apartment complex for so many reasons. From management, to property issues to neighborhood... Everything about this place is the reason we ended our lease at 6 months.Be prepared to deal with RUDE staff who just want your money but dont want to address any of your issues and concerns, to have e-mails sent to you at 3 AM on the first of every month reminding you to pay your rent, or getting a call from the manager that you are late on your rent even though you arent and that call is not meant for you but rather another apartment which she will tell you even though its none of your business, and to see fights on the sidewalk or the police every other night.Crystal the property manager is NEVER ON SITE so to speak with her you have to schedule an appointment, but in doing so she will still not be there at the scheduled time because that is how LITTLE RESPECT she has for the residents.Sandra the seat warmer in the office gives MISINFORMATION despite you asking her the same question more than once to make sure she understands the question clearly, then expects YOU TO PAY for her MISTAKES.Heather usually stays in her office but she is probably your only hope at getting correct information or any help at all if you walk in that office.The district manager for San Antonio will stop answering e-mails if you make any valid concern that can or deserves you being reimbursed on your rent for their mistakes.The first week I moved here there were issues with structures that were only addressed after a month of going into their office multiple times a week and e-mailing the district manager. That issue is still existing but the only way to see it is to pull up your carpet. I HAD A RAT while I lived there as well. (a huge rat) and the solution was for pest control to give me a rat trap to deal with the rat myself. Its utterly disgusting and something I was not willing to do. Luckily maintenance closed the floor up where it was entering in.Oh yeah, about maintenance, they respond pretty quickly but a lot of our issues were issues that were maintenance related but could not be addressed by the maintenance staff due to the fact that it was work that had top be contracted out. So when we would receive e-mails asking if our maintenance request had been addressed, and we would answer no because most times it hadnt, maintenance would be responsible for that.There was also a leak that was coming in through our fireplace that Im still unsure has been fixed or not, but if you ask Sandra Im sure shell tell you theyre still working on it, 8 months later, because if they are STILL WORKING ON IT you cant get out of your contract without fees for them FAILING TO FIX A LEAK that you reported months ago. Oh yeah, and although your contract tells you to send certified mail for maintenance issues so that you can have proof you sent it. they will deny your letter because they do not accept mail at the office, but there is no alternate address for you to send it to either... so pretty much you cant do that. I wouldnt recommend living here for so many other reasons but Ill just leave you with that.Their rating has dropped from a 3 star to a 2 star for a reason.
My husband and I were looking to move here. When we arrived at the office, we knew right off the bat that these people were rude. We couldn’t handle how rude they were and walked out. We went to the next place to check out and the management was a very nice lady. Great place and really amazing prices. I would recommend going to check out Arcos apartments.
Very unprofessional staff with very poor communication skills within and with their perspective residents. Kept my 200 dollar application fee and gave me the run around regarding my move in and application. Thankfully, I found an apartment in another community at the last minute and the application process was a breeze.
The month before I moved out there were carpeting trucks in the parking lot every day. When I moved out, sure enough I was charge $650 to replace carpeting and padding because my carpet couldnt be cleaned. My carpet had no stains or spills, Im unsure of what the issue was. Additionally, I was not charged for none of the ACTUAL damages in my apartment - leads me to believe they charge for whatever is convenient.When i tried to schedule a walk through ahead of time they said they didnt make appointments to come in the day I was ready to leave. When I went to the office the day I was leaving they said the person in charge of that wasnt on site, and Id have to come back another day. At this point I had a U-Haul packed and was moving hours from town.I lived her for two years and am a fairly neat person. I ended up catching 5 mice in my apartment during that time.While walking my dog Ive encountered countless skunks and opossums.Maintenance is often slow. I had a leak coming from the apartment above me, it took multiple emails, requests, and phone calls. Eventually I sent in a video of the leak and someone came out to fix it.During my time there my neighbors house got broken into and at another instance SWAT team was on site.You should expect to pay for parking or be open to parking on the side of the road.Paper work is not kept up to date or accurately.Some staff is friendly, including a maintenance man and one person in the office. The manager is rude and lectured me about submitting too many maintenance request, especially when problems persisted .I wouldnt recommend living here to anyone at this point.
Barcelo Apartments,I’ve been reading other tenants/former tenants comment and the replies you have given to them. Does the one stars or the zero stars they want to give you even a concern? Yes you reply to them but that does not mean you are addressing the issue. You reply back to others when they give a bad review but don’t have the time to answer their phone calls. Replying to them to make it seem like you do care isn’t solving anything. Yes this place is infested with rats, roaches, and let’s not forget mold. You cannot say it is renovated when all you see are walls being repainted, which by the way is a horrible job. The floor isn’t clean because of paint stains on the floor. Which is okay I guess, but the mold in the restroom is not. It is a concern for the human health, especially for individuals who are highly allergic to mold residues. Also the website gallery or photos posted are also deceiving. Why lie to future residents that this is how Barcelo apartments appear to be? Show real life apartment rooms. So Barcelo, can you even make your 0-1 stars become a overall 2.5 or 3 star apartments? Beacause if you were trying to solve all the issues in the past, it starts by actually getting good results about your apartment. Why continue to continuously receive the bad ratings?
Horrible place to live. I hear gun shots from the neighboring complex at least once a month (and sometimes more). Being late or short on rent is defiantly NOT an option here, either. They charged me $50 dollars the other month for being $.08 on rent. Ridiculous! Not to mention the additional charged each day the fine isnt paid (which would be normal if they didnt charge the first $50, I mean, common, at least give me a day to make up the $.08 before you steal my hard earned money). Also, since we are mentioning money, the prices are WAY to high for the complex. I pay close to $700 a month for a 2 bedroom one bath with no washer and dryer, NO BILLS PAID (bills add up to around $160 a month if you try to save), a swimming pool they NEVER clean, and pretty bad parking. In addition to the rent being high the area isnt the best with only a Target and a few corner stores within walking distance. Also, if anything in the apartment breaks, youre going to have to wait almost a week for it to get fixed after you submit a work order unless, of course, its an emergency (and even that takes forever to fix). Lastly, the place is outdated. My ceilings sag and still have popcorn texture, my kitchen appliances look like they are from the 80s, my sinks and bathroom look like they will give out at any moment from age, and my carpets are stained from old residents coming in and out.On the other hand, the courtyards here are nice to sit around in during the day, there is very little noise coming leaking through from my neighbors, and the place is a pretty nice size.Barcelo is a pretty bad place to live.

My roof is falling in and no one has fixed it. Even contacted corporate and nothing was done. Things keep messing up and never fixed. I do not recommend this place.
Office never answers phone! When you go into the office or when they actually answer the phones they tell you things that make you believe they are doing something about it but nothing gets done. I keep my apartment clean and kept up with and we have a huge roach problem and they don’t do anything except say they’ll put me on the list to get pest control to spray. When I call to put my name on the list for them to spray they won’t come spray and then they office will say I didn’t make the list or so and so forgot to put me on there even if I do it dayS in advance. Apartment management sucks!
Im looking for somewhere to move too... at first I thought this place would be the one it looked great! then I read all these bad reviews, and NO THANKS! I will not be risking bad management and staff where me and my children live. Here is some advice, if people CHOOSE to live at your apartments your staff BETTER CHOOSE to be friendly and have things taken care of or no one will ever CHOSE to live there again! sorry for everyones bad experiences, but thanks for making it easy on deciding where not to go!
BY FAR THE WORST APATMENT COMPLEX EVER!!!! YOU TELL THEM YOU HAVE ISSUES THAT NEED FIXING AND THEY DO NOT FIX IT TILL 2 OR 3 MONTHS AFTER...YOUR RENTS AT 980 FOR 2 BED 2 BATH AND THEY ARE WANTING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY RIGHT AWAY BUT NOT FIXING ANYTHING FOR YOU.. EVERY MONTH THE WATERS SHUT OFF ATLEAST 3 TIMES DURING THAT MONTH DUE TO MAINTANCE BUT THEY CHARGE YOU ALMOST 50 IN WATER EVERY MONTH. AND 60 IN SEWER....THE AC DOESNT FUNCTION RIGHT AND YOUR BILL GOES UP DO TO ISSUES THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX IS JUST INSANELY THE WORST ONE EVER.

Awful... especially trying to move out. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Constant maintenance issues with hot water. They dont screen the tenants very well prior to moving in which results in the law being there almost every single night. The office staff is cool in the beginning but over time become very petty. Leaving the mop out will result in a lease violation. Then theres Rueben or Ben... wow! Nothing nice to say there. People come and go long before a year and I see why. 1.8 out of 5 is actually generous. Hey Barcelo.. good luck in the future. Hopefully someone someday will be happy with your so called apartment homes Ha!!!
(PART 1) Doing the walk of shame for 2 years in a row to renew our contract was the worst feeling. I was always seeing neighbor after neighbor moving out, hoping that my time to leave would soon come. I always felt guilty watching new neighbors moving in looking excited, wishing I could have warned them before they signed their lease. I know there are many places much worse, but if you have another option, I recommend skipping this place and moving on to another.To put it into perspective, when we moved in 3 years ago, this place was about a 3.4 or so on Google, and now you can see it is a 1.7When we moved in, we needed a new back screen door, and a screen for one of our windows. We put in requests pretty frequently and were always given the answer “They are on back order” or “We just ordered some, we will replace it when they come in”. For 3 years whenever it got slightly windy our screen door would fly off and flop onto our patio. We would leave it hoping they would see it and remember to fix it, and yet when we moved out 3 years later, neither our screen door, or window screen was replaced.Cockroaches was a constant problem. After pest control found it odd that they were having to come out so frequently, they discovered a piece of chicken wire under our sink, where they were easily coming in and out of the walls. Maintenance claimed to have fixed it, but we continued to have the problem. We even got our apartment bombed for the roaches and still had a big problem. And often when we would call to get on the pest control, no one would ever show up. When we would call the office, they would act like it was no big deal, or offer to call someone and ‘call us back’ only to never hear from them. The cockroaches were a HUGE problem. It’s not that there were a ton, but they were frequent. And I have read having cockroaches is a pretty constant problem with tenants at these apartments.They would always try to find a way to put the blame on us, like telling us to not leave food on the floors or counters, and would find anything they thought we could be doing to attract them, but before living here I had only seen one cockroach in any of my homes before, and since we moved out 3 months ago, I have not had a single one in my home.The apartments look nice, but their problems are just covered up with paint, paint, and more paint. If you really look at the walls and doors you can see layers and layers of paint. After about a month of living in our unit we slowly started seeing the flaws coming out. The black mold all over the window sills, the painted-over mold on the metal parts of the windows. The paint on the cabinets was coming off, and you could see old food stains under the last coat of paint, and there was even a small Chunk of food under a layer of paint too. They literally didn’t even clean the cabinets when the last people moved out. They just covered the stains in paint. This place is disgusting.Then, as we used the shower more and more, even though I cleaned it regularly, I noticed it was still getting gross and black. I tried a few different cleaners, and even tried bleach, and nothing. Shortly after, I realized the bathtub was painted. Just like everything else. Then shortly after that, the paint began to bubble up, and peel. Then I could see why they painted it. It had a black chip/hole in it, and likely other damage as well. After a few months it was to the point that it looked as if it had never been cleaned. They had people come repaint it again, and they did a horrible job. Again, after about a month we were starting to see the same issues. We had to have them come out and repaint it again, where they claimed it was only staining like that because the last people ‘didn’t do it right’, and sure enough, we had the same issues, and they did a horrible job too (paint puddles all over the tub)
I’m not really sure where to begin with this place. Looks can definitely be deceiving with this Apartment Complex. Thankfully after 2 years of horror we are finally moving. First off the staff is just the worst, if you must deal with someone you should definitely go with Ben, he seems to know what he’s doing. The lady in the front when you walk through the door lost our rent not once but 3 times, thankfully we had proof that we paid. Crystal the property manager has no interest in helping you, she’s very condescending and rude. When dealing with her we actually had to go over her head to corporate to find a solution. Next is Maintenence although things get done they get done in the worst way, you basically do the repairs yourself with some glue or tape. We’ve had so many things fall apart and also our fair share of leaks (being on the bottom floor)that I’m surprised there’s anything left. The air conditioning system I’m pretty sure is from the 70s, when asked about replacing it they just put a new face on the wall and by new I mean the same one. The water pressure is the worst as well, they shut off our water 3 times without notification and we went without hot water for up to 2 weeks without notice as well. There are constant shootings and police are here every other day, the complex was on the news for a hostage situation where my husband couldn’t even get home (if you would even call it that). Now with the worst (I know) ROACHES AND BUGS! Everywhere it’s disgusting, we had pest control come and then finally they just stopped coming and we had to deal with the bugs ourself to which didn’t help a lot but it was bearable until we could move out. We’ve had to get rid of most of our stuff because of the bugs. If you value your family or yourself you would not move here, please don’t move here. Listen to the reviews don’t be like us and ignore them, we were fools. Please find somewhere else affordable to live. Anywhere really.***UPDATE***We received a phone call from a collection agency over a month after we moved out. They stated we owed $345.00! We never received a call from Barcelo Apartments they just sent us straight to collections, and the collections agency stated that they received our account 2 days after we moved!!! We are going to follow up with our lawyer, this needs to stop.Quit deleting the pictures that show what filth your apartment complex is.
Upset we dont have hot water due to boiler, we been having water heater issues over the year I been here. As of yesterday 10/09 after 6pm I noticed we didnt have hot water and No email or notices were handed out to the residents.On the plus side the apartments are roomy.
Horrible place!!!!! The PROPERTY MANAGER CRYSTAL is the absolute worst. She has no care in the world! They lie and say the notify you when they absolutely dont! Its been three months and my maintenance repairs still havent even been done!They were suppouse to be done before we even moved in!!! Which was in January it is now March!
I’ve had a great experience so far, the only bad thing I have to say is it took several maintenance requests to fix one issue but other than that things have been great and the staff has really improved and their always very courtesy when I call with any questions or concerns 🤗
ZERO stars. DO NOT rent with this property. Total SCAMMERS!!! We applied for this apartment, got approved, did not sign the lease THANKFULLY. We got approved but under stipulations, even though our rental history, credit report, and income is in great condition. They claimed that we had to pay the highest amount possible upon move in because of small medical bills in our collections, which has nothing to do with renting a property.
I dont usually write reviews nor to I pay attention to them because most reviews are written out of one bad experience. Honestly I am trying so hard to find any reason to stay here due to having a new apartment every year, I want to call a place a home, and this is NOT THE PLACE. The only good thing about this complex is the prices and space, but the staff are a bunch of idiots honestly. They do not give you notice when water or anything of that sort is being shut off. They treat emergencies such as floods or leaks in apartments to take a number, next in line gets a look at. Dont live here. Its a bunch of bullshit and there is never any parking, and the people who have lived here longer get special treatment, which sucks for new tenants trying to call this place home. Ive lived in 4 different apartments in 4 years and by far this is the ONLY apartment complex I have had trouble with. STAFF SUCKS ASS. This is the most run down place to live. Price is great but you get what you pay for and if thats what you want then this is the perfect place for you!!
I live 2 years every month I pay more from my lease agreement and mentenance to fix anything never they come to fix one day l had water liking I order to fix but I call 911 when they leave 911 they came to see.
If I could go lower than a one star I would. I just moved in like two months ago so far my car was towed once had to pay 220 to get it out so I have a vehicle for me and my children. Then I found out that there was mice in my apartment. Told them about it and they said pest control would be out well they never came. Then a month after my mice problem I walked in to my master bedroom and found termites all over my king size bed called them immediately I explained to them I needed pest control asap! And they said we were on the list for the next day. I wasnt satisfied but I understood. Well they never came the next day. They did an inspection not even a month ago which I understand and was completely fine with but now we got a letter last night stating my apartment was choosen for a random inspection for tomorrow sometime. I think its hilarious they can do all these inspections making me take off work (yes they would come in without me here but this is my house at the moment and Im not trusting anyone to just come in without me here.) and come out no problem but cant get pest control to my apartment to get rid of the mice and termites for me and my children. And still expect me to pay 875 +25 I have to pay for a parking spot so I dont have to park a mile from my home and make my children walk. May not be the office people that need the blame idk but this place is stupid and God knows I cant wait for this lease to be up!If I knew how to post pics to this Id be glad to show off my sons tortillas that became mice food! Damn things ate half a stack of like 30 tortillas and through 2 loafs of bread! I also have picture of my termite covered bed floor and windows! Stay away from this place if you can all they care about is money!

The three newest reviews are so obviously fake. That being said, i had to go in debt while living at Barcelo apartments thanks to the sneaky and uncaring staff that worked here. I got health issues due to living with so much mold. I feared walking to my car after hearing my neighbor was robbed at gunpoint near yhr laundrymat. My car got hit in my own parking spot, and towed once because I didnt have the little plastic pass in view. You could literally have anyone who didnt live there use your plastic pass and park in your spot. They dont care about safety, just the money they can make off of you.Once I called them out, I was speaken too with digust and even yelled at by staff. My friend was in the apartment busjness and would always tell me things the staff said and did were illegal or made up. When calling them out on this, i usually called corporate who would fix the problem. This place was semi livable, but just not at all worth the way they treat human beings and having to be fearful, or stepping on several tiny roaches when going into your kitchen at night.
This apartment is by far the worst one i have rented with. I have had a horrible roach problems since the first day. they said they were gonna take care of it and never did. also on their annual inspections one of the maintenance man left my door UNLOCKED and somebody came in and STOLE all my stuff. When i went to management and told them about it, they said they couldnt do anything because IT COULDVE BEEN ME. They also towed my car around Christmas from the apartment parking lot costing me 400 DOLLARS, even though i was a renter. The MANAGEMENT is horrible as well. I HIGHLY REGRET MAKING THE CHOICE TO RENT HERE. AND I WOULD LIKE TO WARN EVERYONE TO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING MONEY. I wish i could write more but i have hw to do. i promise guys dont waste your time !!
(PART 2) And as the paint chipped, black mold was showing in the shower too. And as the paint chipped off the shower wall tiles, they revealed to be gross and discolored. These people do not clean. They just paint over any flaws. It lasts long enough for you to sign the lease, do your walk through, and have no chance to back out. It is disgusting, and who knows how many years worth of food, stains, mold, and whatever other disgusting things are under all those layers of paint there are.I never had issues with the maintenance people, especially Kevin, he was always very helpful and would even show us how we could fix issues if they were easy to fix so we wouldn’t have to wait for them to come for small issues. But it did take a ridiculous amount of time to fix issues. From what we understood, requests were sent in order, not urgency. So even though we said urgent, it would take 2-4 weeks for someone to show up, even after regular calls to the office. And there were many times we had to submit many requests for one issue because they kept marking them as completed, when no one ever came out.Our air had gone out one year, around October when it was not hot hot, but still hot. And we had company over, and 4 kids in the apartment. We called. And called. And called. And they claimed multiple times they were sending someone over. A month later, they finally fixed our air.But the office staff is the worst of it all in my opinion. They always acted so nice and friendly in person and over the phone, but nothing would get resolved. Just about everything these people told us was a lie. And each time we had an issue, they would give us the ‘I will find out and I will call you back’ and never got a call back. 3 years, and never a phone call. The only time we ever got a phone call from them was after we moved out and they needed something.They have a ‘nothing that’s not patio furniture on your patio’ rule. We went on vacation one day, and came back and left our cooler out to dry. By the next morning there was a notice on our door saying to remove it, or they would charge us. It was their rule, and that is fine. But right across from us, at street view as well, an apartment had a blue cooler on their patio for 3 months, at least. I noticed it after I had removed ours, and no one ever removed it from their patio. But after less than 24 hours of ours being there, there was a notice on our door.They are always quick to make us fix issues they have, but can’t be bothered to fix issues we have.They usually put a notice on our door giving us X time to fix the problem. One day a maintenance man came to our door with blinds saying he had to replace them. Then an office man came to our door saying we owed them $50. I wasn’t even really mad, I did let the man in to replace the blinds, but I confronted the office man asking him why there was never a paper on our door giving us a chance to replace them ourselves, and he rudely told me that they did put a paper on our door, and when I informed him that we never got a notice on our door, he just ‘I don’t know what to tell you. We put a paper on your door.’ Implying that I was lying, and not even offering to give us a chance to fix it. .Then the big one. We returned home one day with a paper on our door. We were the only ones in our building with a paper. It was an eviction notice stating we had to be moved out in 4 days because we had not paid rent by the 3rd; their late period. On the 4th we got the notice. We were scared because we HAD paid rent, and didn’t get why they were evicting us. And either way, from what we understood, if you didn’t pay rent by the 3rd, you would accumulate late fees, not get evicted. Either way, we called the office, and they informed us it was an electronic error on their part, and that rent didn’t go through for anyone. AND YET WE WERE THE ONLY ONES WITH AN EVICTION NOTICE. And if they knew it was an error, why would they bother putting out eviction notices?
The workers here at Barcelo are very nice and courteous and friendly with everyones needs and the maintenance can only do so much in a day and those three guys work their tails off and dont believe everything you hear to you come and live here& very quiet place to live

Please read & believe these reviews before you lease here . The pictures online make the buildings look nice, but make sure you tour the place. It’s disgusting ! The apartments are infested with roaches, and other bugs . The whole apartment is just old . You have to turn your sink water on, to get hot shower water . I recently had a theft in my apartment, & even with the police report, Barcelo Apartments would not let me out my lease or even change my locks . Management talks to you any kind of way, & will call the police on you if you don’t agree / do something their way. The guy (Ben) manager will knock ONCE on your front door, if you do not answer he will walk right in after one knock. My car was towed twice when it was parked in allowed parking at the complex. Management tells you rent is late on the 4th but will charge you the $100 late fee on the 3rd of the month . These apartments are not worth it. $700 for a one bedroom when everything falls apart, & is old as dirt .
THE WORST APARTMENT TO LIVE IN! Please dont live here you will regret it . When i first moved in i asked them if they can fix the window in my sons room because it had a hole in it which looked like someone shot at the window, they never did and always gave me the run around about getting it fix, my tub started to leak water out of the handles and when i told them all maintenance did was basically put a band-aid over it, IT took for my apartment to get flooded, the firefighters to come out and finally they fix the BROKEN PIPE mimd you it was probably the 3rd or 4th time maintenance fixed the pipe. my water bill was always high because of the leak they didnt care. Mold grows fast around the windows and in the restroom, now to the worst part the roaches i never lived in a place where there was so many roaches i couldnt even have nothing out because the roaches would get in it they come from every crack and hole in the wall especially when its hot and at night i had to leave the lights on sometimes cuz if its dark all the raoches would come out and start getting in the bread, cookies anything i left out the roaches got in it not evem pest control could get rid of them.
If I could give this apartment complex negative stars, I WOULD. I have never seen an establishment being so unprofessionally ran. It is clear that those that work for these apartments do not care for the quality of service provided and I would be surprised if those in charge even cared considering that there have been absolutely no improvements over the course of the past few years. It seems as though this place continues to get worse and worse as time goes on. No matter how many times the maintenance men come to fix the faucets and the leaky ceilings, the issue always comes back. Sometimes we will wake up in the mornings and step into the restrooms only to find that weve stepped in a puddle of water from leakage the night before. There has been a terrible roach infestation FOR YEARS, and it only continues to get worse. They need to do a fumigation of the entire apartment complex, not just weekly sprays as they just migrate to other apartments. My home should not be a hotel for so many roaches. As if the quality of living wasnt bad enough, the office does absolutely nothing to help or even act like they care. Every time we go to the office we receive attitude and poor service. We even had one of our packages go missing although the man working at the office ripped up our only evidence of it being delivered (the delivery slip) and then accused my grandfather of bringing an old slip when it had just been delivered to the office that day. Poor customer service skills all around. The living conditions are terrible, the staff is rude, and I have never been so disgusted with an establishment, EVER. For the prices you pay here, you could get a decent apartment. Dont waste your time on these apartments as they will only lead to disappoint.
I just moved in a few days ago, and upon my arrival, I noticed some things in my apartment that were not to my satisfaction. The carpet was very wet, the stove was not working, there was a hole in the wall, some paint stains on the floor here and there, and it was NOT clean! I was told there was going to be someone to clean it before I moved in. I made a list of all the things that were wrong in my apartment, and I gave it to the lady in the residents office. She quickly apologized, and said she would send someone to fix it. Then I thought to myself, great, lets see how long it takes for them to fix everything. (I thought it would take them a long time because of the reviews I previously read) To my surprise, everything was done the very next day. New carpet was installed, faux wood flooring was also installed in the kitchen and dining area, the hole in the wall was fixed, and I even got a BRAND NEW stove! I was really happy about that! Some areas of the apartment still need maintaining, but I know theyre still working on remodeling the whole apartment complex.
Lived there for a year now. The workers are off tasks most of the time. There is always a water problem. When i moved there, there were roaches. The people who work for the apartment didnt finish their job so i had to gire so one else.& The pool is rarely clean.
Price was hood when i first moved there, but once i extended my contract my price went up $60 a month. Also the multiple changes in management didnt help.
I lived in this place for a year and let me tell you..They are very spacious apartments and the section I got I had pretty quite neighbors so I was comfortable most of the time..I was very hesitant moving here because of the horrible reviews.. Although I went for it. I personally did not have a bug problem because I bought some solution to take care of that problem plus I had very clean. Management is horrible, The only one who was really nice since day one was Tammy (she had her days as well but most of the time she was the most helpful) and she was just the front desk Secretary ...Stephenie the Managers Secretary was rude and unhelpful until I had a problem she messed up on and I got fined for it I argued with her about the situation to Ben who was the Supervisor at that time after that argument she changed her attitude towards me. Krystal was no help for anything I emailed I called never had time for her Tenants...although I dont know now since I believe Krystal (Main Manager in 2018) was moved to Melia Apartments according to a friend who lived at Melia complex. They were always Fining me for every little thing and being so unfair especially since my apartment was one of the most noticed since my balcony was facing the front ..they have big issues with the blinds every time my blinds were just a little open I would get a paper stating I was fined $25 when you would go to the apartments in the middle section where the only little grill is located the blinds were cut of and were very in very bad shape and there balconies were full of boxes cans and mattresses and they would never be fined and I would pass thru that section regularly because of the pool...they find whatever excuse they can to fine. there was a lot of leaks although I assume its because of the type of faucets they have... Maintenance was good they would come by quick and they were always very nice. dont get me wrong I loved my apartment it was very homie the only reason I left was because at the end of my contract they added me a bunch of fines that were just brought up at that point I was very upset of the way they were charging me and left after being with them since October 2017 - october 2018 my contract ended in November 2018 tho. They placed as broken lease and ruined my credit ..of course I understand that was my fault but the amount that they were charging was bad it was 5000 for only living the apartment one more month that is all I owed plus the fines they created which would have been a total of maybe 1550 not the 5000. I recently got in to another apartment and they asked barcelo to pass over the rental history and they responded by saying No Such resident lived there Good thing I had proof everything if not I was going to be assumed a liar to my new apartment complex. I just hope with the new management everything gets better because it has a lot of potential to be a good place. I just think there customer service really needs to change and maybe choose better tenants because the police do come a lot especially in building 9 and it is always the same family the little kids were always outside crying.
Apartments are not managed professionally. There are roaches everywhere, even with pest control and bug foggers, they never go away. They constantly turn the hot hot water off and never give any notice prior to do so. I am so happy that my lease is expiring soon. My floors dip in areas, my ac is leaking, my front door does not close all the way, and there is mold in the ac vents. The office staff never seems to have an answer for anything. I encourage other families to not move in here.
