The maintenance team is AMAZING!! When we had no electricity and no water, one of the maintenance men allowed my family to use his grill so that we could eat. Once the water came back on I had a water leak, this team worked so quickly to make sure the leak was fixed and the water was cleaned up. Sometimes the maintenance team is overlooked but these men are beyond incredible. Thank you guys so much for your selflessness

Just moved in about a week ago, all thanks to the help of Kellianne! She was honest, nice, and knew what she was talking about when it came to the property. I never felt blindsided like I have in the past with other properties. My roommate and I are at the beginning stages of adulthood so they were able to work with us to get us approved.The maintenence crew seems to do their job and maintain the property which is a huge plus!! The areas around the dumpsters are always clean, little to no animal droppings, very little trash around the property. Overall clean, welcoming and has a cute cottage-like vibe. The mature trees help shade my balcony making it extra cute and inviting.

I moved out in November and confirmed with the leasing office they would forward a copy of my deposit information to the new address I provided them. A couple weeks went by and i didn’t hear anything so I called. They told me only the office manager has access to the information and they would provide her my information so she can call me back. Never received a call and after several months of this I finally got in contact with the leasing manager who advised me they mailed off the info November 3rd but couldn’t provide tracking details. Today I go in office to pay the amount that I just found out a week ago that I owed and the woman working could not tell me what I was being charged for. She said I would need to contact the manager again. The entire time I lived here I had issues with the leasing office being unorganized and they even changed leadership 3 times in 2 years. Goes to show there’s a major issue. Cars are broken into frequently. Roaches can be found in and outside the apartments everywhere. Maintenance people tried hitting on me frequently making me uncomfortable in my own home. I was promised a newly renovated apartment when I signed my lease and was given one that was not renovated. Cracks in the walls, unstable flooring. AC broke every summer. I spent 2 days cleaning the apartment before giving in my keys so I’m not sure where the charges came from and now that i’m being directed to the manager I know i probably won’t know what i’m being charged for. Horrible organization. Do not move here unless you want to deal with a headache.

Anyone else waiting for their property damage to be fixed? Weve had an inspection weeks ago but didnt hear from the management since. I am hearing they are moving and bringing people in but what about the people that are already here? This is extremely disappointing since I am one of the residents that have lived here for years and enjoy this place.

The pipes in my building are all on the main line. Due to this, if someone else causes their sink to back up, the person on the bottom floor has to deal with it. Yes, you read that correctly. Because MY NEIGHBOR clogged their sink, I now have a flooded apartment. Which wouldnt be an issue if they addressed this issue the first time it happened. It has now been over 24 hours since I contacted the emergency maintenance and I have not received any contact whatsoever, despite calling the maintenance AND front office lines. I would not recommend living here unless maybe you have a top floor apartment, but it would just be a safer bet to live somewhere else.

2/2021. I have to say... these guys have been phenomenal! Through all the craziness of last week, they have been extra great. was sitting in my car, warming up last Tuesday, when one of the maintenance guys drove by and told me where a gas station was opened. We already had met because he so kindly introduced himself, walking around property when I first moved in. The property manager has been more than committed to communicating to us about updates with water issues, and resources around town to get water and supplies. If I ever have to leave them, I will be really sad. Have never had an entire property so committed to their tenants as this one. YOU GUYS ROCK7/2020I had to find another apartment at the last minute, and this was where I ended up. Jasmine has been a great help since the beginning, and I really appreciated all her help and understanding. The property manager, (Im sorry, I forgot her name) has been really great, too. I called with some concerns, and by the time I came home from work, she had them fixed!! (mind you, I called late afternoon) Looking forward to my time here as a resident!

It could be an okay place to live, depending on the neighbors. I recommend a top floor apartment, because my upstairs neighbor abuses their dog and hits them everyday and I can hear EVERY. SINGLE. THING. Neither management, nor animal abuse lines have done anything to check it out. Thank God I no longer work from home because hearing a dog scream and cry for all hours of the day and night was driving me crazy.

Wow! Customer service is impeccable, everyone at the leasing office was courteous and helpful. Jazmine answered all of my questions, was professional and provided a great experience. Since we ended up purchasing a house, we did not sign a lease but my experience was nothing but exceptional. I would highly recommend!! 😀

It was cool until I had a package stolen, opened, and dropped off in the office.No empathy and had the audacity to talk over me as I am trying to explain what was going on. Blame was placed on the delivery service who had delivered on their part, first thing the girl made sure I knew was they weren’t responsible. They didn’t even see the person who dropped my open package off in their brand new renovated office (no cameras).Before that I enjoyed being here especially considering it was my first year. But I don’t feel like my situation was handled respectfully. She was rude and instead of trying to help she felt it more necessary to talk over me (which is highly disrespectful) and made sure to establish that they were not liable for goods being stolen. Why else would you require renters insurance? To release you of liability right? At least that’s what’s also stated in the leasing contract you sign. But she obvious doesn’t think that way and could have cared less. If she which I believe her name is Samantha, didn’t have the common sense or work knowledge to refer me to my insurance company to file a claim had the item was stolen. Ugh I had such high hopes for this place and now I have to stay another year until I’m financially prepared to leave 😣 wish me luck! P.s.Customer service is lacking in the office and it shows. Wouldn’t recommend.

My family and I have lived at Ashley Oaks 3 and a half years. In that time we have lived in a two bedroom and a three bedroom apartment. I have always found the maintenance and office staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rent is a reasonable price and repairs are made very quickly after a request is put in.

The apartment complex is beautiful and large. They have 3 phases. Phase three is pretty peaceful. They email often and send out flyers on doors as well in case you dont check it frequently. The only thing we had trouble with was a misunderstanding about the price of the washer & dryer being included in the rent or not. We were told there was no extra charge and then told there was. The office staff is very professional and nice (even when I got upset and yelled 😅 ) Other than that everything else has been great. They had a great deal on rent when we moved in especially for the location and size of the apartments. We love it here.

I have lived here since 2014,, a great place to call home,, different floor plans with different needs in mind,, lovely landscaping with majestic walnut trees and ancient oaks,, well lit parking behind metal electric gates, 2 sparkling pools on 1 side of the property, and across the street of Rough Oak,, the other phase of 3 bed room apartments,, with its own pool,, also privately numbered parking places and carports,, in the neighborhood of a elementary school within walking distance and middle school of Bradley Middle just a few minutes away,, also a high school a little further,,conveniently placed shopping and restaurants,, a wonderful place to call 🏡

I have lived here almost 5 years and just downsized to an upgraded unit. I love it here. I love the more modern look with lighter gray wood floors, granite countertops, white cabinets, and brushed nickel fixtures. Pictures on the website dont show upgrades. They have also done many upgrades the all units and the complex itself, including new hvac units, toilets, new earthy tones on exterior, repainted parking structures, resurfacing of pools, added dog park, etc. The place really looks nice. Office staff are very helpful and worked with me to get into the place that I really wanted. Maintenance guys are super nice and get things done within a day of requests, and they do a good job. Neighbors are friendly. I would highly recommend this complex.

Ive lived here almost a year. I havent had major issues. Im in an upgraded unit and its very nice inside. The only thing lacking is closet space and storage. I dont have a coat closet or much kitchen cabinet space. Im still deciding if i should stay. Only because of my storage issue and if my rent stays close to same. Maintenance is great and most of the girls in office are helpful and friendly per ny experience.Oh and a concern I have is the gates are always broken and my car has been broken into once along with ny neighbors. Id feel better if gates worked all the time and maybe invest in some property cameras.Overall though its good here so far.

This apartment complex is amazing and beautiful . I leased an apartment during December and everything happened right on schedule and if I had any questions at all the staff was amazing. This place is soooo much better than where I used to live . You need maintenance they show up that day to help you fix your issue . Definitely recommend this place if your moving!

Place is a dump even though they’re tryin to make changes an I feel like they’re tryin to up their prices to force certain people out so their apartments can look luxurious even though they’re old an dumpy.

We moved in February 2019 & I wanted to wait before I posted a review just because in the past I have gave good reviews upfront, & ended up regretting them.I have lived here now for 4 months & it’s been amazing. I have had not one problem here. I love it here. The staff from the start has been so kind & welcoming. The maintenance team is great & friendly. I have lived in lots of apartments & I have had to leave some sad reviews & was made to feel as if I couldn’t live in peace for what I would pay for. Here is just so different. I wake up everyday in love with my cozy two bed room. The apartments are not only good looking on the outside but great looking on the inside. I couldn’t ask for a better staff in the front office! I go in there almost everyday with my two boys to grab a snack, say hello & pick up what whatever packages I may have received. If I could give this place & the staff 10 stars I would!I really do recommend this place. We planned on getting a house after this lease but we like it so much we might just stay an extra year before finding a house! Apartment living here is just made so easy here!

I just want to say that I love my one bedroom, the only thing is that the apartment need an more up to date style (popcorn ceiling and the texture of the walls) But i know that there trying to fix this apartment. I enjoyed the shade of the trees and peaceful neighborhood, had no problems or drama.Office staff are alway kind. Nice neighborhood! Love it that I’m close to shopping center and movies. I had no pest problem.

Honestly I dont know why there are so many 1 star ratings. Ive been here for about 9 months and had no problems. People at the office are awesome and I bug a lot with packages and questions. Always nice with me and handle issues quickly. My apartment was handed neat and clean. Also surroundings are nice. They have put in a lot like new AC units, new toilets, renovated roofs and outside boards are new. Very nice and look forward to another year.

I could not disagree anymore with all of these bad reviews. I absolutely LOVE my apartment! The staff was amazing from day 1. Anna showed me two different size 1 bedroom apartments so that I could decide what would be best for me. She answered all my questions and walked me through the entire rental process.When she wasnt available the manager Andrea made it a point to be available to me. Maintenance has been on the ball with any requests I have made. Yes there was an issue with ants, but that was when the tree trimmers were working on the property. I dont have an issues with vehicle break ins. The grounds are kept as clean as they can be since people like to dump their old furniture at the dumpsters after hours. I personally love seeing all the kids riding their bikes and playing in the afternoon. This is a true family friendly community that makes you feel at home.

The office staff is very nice and the apartment was just redone when I moved in. Theyve always fixed all maintenance requests quickly too and the work is well done. The company is also putting a lot of work into the place and updating the complex, giving it a sleek look. The only thing Id like them to improve on is the gates seem to be broken a lot (usually from people hitting them) and the speed bumps are vicious on my small car, even at 5 mph.

This place is great. The office staff is attentive, caring, and kind. The maintance guys are kind and actually good at what they do (and NOT creepy which is a huge bonus). The entire complex is clean, safe, and quiet. I’ve lived in several different apartments during college/grad school, this is my first apartment after I graduated and not only is it cheaper than the others, but it’s bigger and safer as well. I genuinely recommend this place to just about anyone.

We are now going on 7 months after signing our lease and I can honestly say weve never had any problems with the staff or our apartment here within that time. Our work orders have always been taken care of no later than the next day, the front office staff is always helpful in answering any questions, and most of all we feel very safe here. The last point means a lot to us as we have a toddler.The fitness center is on the smaller side but still has a good selection of machines, and I only really go to use the treadmills anyway. We loved going to our designated pool in the summer and it was usually well-kept as well. I also have to commend the maintenance workers as I always see them around the complex tending to things that need attention.Also, the location is fantastic. Its so quiet in this area but at the same time we are also very close to some great restaurants and shopping centers. We love it here and are so happy to have this apartment as our first apartment moving into San Antonio.

Extremely poor management. The property manager is very rude and unprofessional. I would definitely not recommend this place. Not only is it embarrassing to have guests over because people use this property as a dumping site for old mattesses, furniture, dishwashers, washers and dryers, the pools are filthy and not maintained. The police are here on a daily basis, the gates are always broken and it is just unsafe.

This was my first apartment in San Antonio and Im so blessed to be living here! The staff is so sweet and quick to respond and resolve and questions or issues! ANT INFESTATIONAshley oaks has a TERRIBLE ant problem. Theres rivers of them spilling out of every crack in the sidewalk, coming out of the trees and making trails into the railing of the stairway, getting into our CARS multiple times even with no food whatsoever.Our neighbor downstairs has had to have her AC replaced 3 TIMES because the ants were in it and shorted it out.Other people in our building have had complaints of the ants swarming in their couches and biting them when they go to sit on them.We ourselves have had them get into our apartment multiple times, coming through tiny holes in the wall, behind cabinets, and through electrical outlets. Theyve swarmed our entire pantry, we had to throw out everything. Swarmed a SEALED bag of dog food and chewed through till they were able to get in it. Now we keep finding them randomly around the apartment, looking for food or whatever.Ive been down to the office several times to get the issue resolved, only to have them come spray the apartment, and CLAIM to spray the outside of the building as well. There is however the trail of ants I mentioned earlier (that is running down from the trees into the railing of our stairs) that has been there for WEEKS, over a month now and is just growing in population, even though they supposedly had the exterminators come to spray multiple times.DO NOT MOVE HERE :/

I am a current resident at the Ashley Oaks apartments, the biggest compliment I can give the staff and management is that every time I have made a maintenance request they have always been prompt in resolving the matter. Im not a resident but I did look at these as Im in the market. The apartment I saw was pretty nice for the price. The grounds are less than decent and kind of an eye sore. I wouldve probably went ahead and leased anyway if it wasnt for the dog poop on the apartment walkway and the loud dogs barking next door.

I have lived here one year and the staff has always been helpful. My neighbor downstairs has been awful and the office has been very understanding. I am now renewing my lease in a new unit/building with Glorias assistance. My children are very excited!Maintenance is quick to respond. Even after hours. They have fixed/replaced various issues without complaint.

Ill give it this, the area is nice and I really enjoyed all the trees, BUT find somewhere else to go.Lived there for a year and a half and it was the worst mistake of my life.I find it funny that when youre first looking at getting an apartment with them, the staff act all nice and very helpful, but once you move in, they dont care about you anymore. Forget ever getting help from them. Staff sucks and maintenance is ever worse.For maintenance to come and fix anything in your apartments is like trying to win the lottery. Oh and when they do come, its always a half ass job. Or they find an excuse to not even fix things that are obviously a problem.The main office is all disorganized, Ive never seen so many unprofessional, inconsiderate staff all in once place.Find somewhere else, trust me its not worth it.

I am Military, was trying to apply. When I toured was definitely pleased with the house. Went to turn my application in and was lied to about the apartment that was available. Went online to check and called back and now the apartment was available. So I told them about me just leaving their office, then the secretary started to get very rude with me. Besides vehicles constantly being broken into (even with security gates and the 1x a month security guard visit), and the leasing office constantly loosing your packages (even when they right down your apt number in a binder stating they have it and waiting for you to sign and pick it up), ant infestation, random inspection without reason and trying to plan to be home for that then to not be inspected, living here has been peachy. Only 1 nice person in the office, Michelle. The manager Andrea will say things like maybe we wrote the wrong apt # down for packages in the binder and USPS says they gave it to a person in the office, she never admits or makes right when she and her staff mess up. When I moved in, my apartment was disgusting, not clean3d, not painted. The assitant manager (dont think she is working in office anymore) was the person who took care of everything, not Andrea...because nothing is ever Andreas fault.

We have been here almost two years. It is an older complex and it shows a little. They keep the grounds and pools up pretty good. Maintenance is quick, same day if its not a big problem.We had a brief battle with tiny little ants, but I think we have won for now. We noticed some new folks in the office and it is a pleasant change. Not that other staff were rotten, just not as friendly. Anyway the staff are friendly and professional, the environment seems better.The location is great. I can walk to the shopping area with restaurants and theater in about 20 min.If I had one wish, it would be that now the security gates are working they would invest in the fitness room. There are three treadmills and none of them work. A broken leg extension machine. One super noisy elliptical and a worn out recline peddle unit. The cable weights are still in ok shape so technically you can still call it a fitness room but the TV mounted on the wall has no cable so its just a decoration. there is a huge YMCA just across the street but since its listed as an amenity, I would prefer the equipment in our fitness center be functional.Over all its been a positive experience here and would rate it above average in comparison to other complexes in the area of the same age.

I visit my son who lives here. The light fixtures outside the doors are disgusting, It seems as though they havent been cleaned in years..full of bugs, unacceptable. The dumpster area needs strict rules, I know its a garbage area, but could be kept neater. Powerwashing the walkways couldnt hurt. It could be a nice place to call home, if more work was put into the property.

Just dont. Seriously. Ive been here 11 months now and I can tell you that though your layout for the unit might be nice everything else is crap! Always have problems with maintenance they dont want to do anything. They make promises that they wont keep. My unit had mold in the vents to which they kept telling me its not mold its just dirt, which was bull, I bugged them for three months to fix it, my bathtub and wall is all rusted out because one of the maintenance t hay blew the ac line did something wrong and the secondary pipe wont stop leaking, Ive been told that they cant fix it, which is also a load of crap. Ive Filled out multiple maintenance requests on that one. The office people never answer the phone and. most of them are extremely rude. oh and the rent and water you pay here.. ha.. I went to just pay my rent because I was short on funds, well they subtracted my water bill from it and gave me a notice I was short on my rent!! Theyve done this twice to me! They are two separate bills!!! Anyway.. There are so many things wrong.. dont forget the ants! Ive never had ants anywhere Ive ever lived, Im a clean person, but here.. you cant escape them.So I know the price and look might be nice.. but run. Seriously.. just RUN

I never leave reviews for anything, but had to for Ashley Oaks. I just moved my daughter into her first ever apartment there a few months ago. I was scared to death having her live alone, but it has been great. Everytime I visit I constantly see Maintenance out on property working. The grounds are well kept. There isnt a lot of traffic in the parking lots. She feels safe and that makes this Dad happy. She was so worried about the freezing temperatures and was probably driving the office crazy with questions but theyve been nothing but professional. Im glad we chose Ashley Oaks to call her home out of all the other apartments in the area.

Where do I even start? Ive lived at Ashley Oaks for almost 3 and a half years, and it was very horrible experience the first year or so, but its been great ever since then. My first apartment was not ready when I moved in and everything was old, rusted, and dirty. My hot water didnt work, the paint on tubs and walls were still wet, my countertops were white and disgusting, and both light and ceiling fans in my room and my sons nursery were broken. I was very disappointed with this community at first. The management was horrible!!! They either ignored calls or would never call back. Everything had an excuse. The property has probably had three or four different management companies over the last 4 years which causes disorganization and untrained staff constantly. The second property company lost my renewal lease contract and all my pet information, so they didnt notice I was not in a contract for about 4 months until I went into the office to complain about 3 month long work orders I had placed for serious issues. It was a mess. The MANAGEMENT THAT IS THERE NOW IS BEYOND GREAT! They have been managing for a little over a year and a half, but they fixed my whole apartment and upgraded everything (counters, sinks, A/C, fans and blinds) for all the problems the previous company caused without charging me anything. The office staff is super sweet, and I get a great experience with all of them when I walk into the office or call. They allowed me to transfer to another unit when my lease was over even when I had signed a renewal without making it difficult at all for the circumstances I was encountering. The last year and a half have been nothing but great experiences. They have a lot of bad reviews, but I wouldnt mind living here until I can purchase a house. The gates are always open, but the apartments are so huge that people are constantly coming in and out that when the gates are closed, there are cars lined into the street to get in. The gates are not a security system. With any apartment community, gates are NOT considered security gates, but access gates. Anyone can follow another car in, so this should not be the reason to not live here. People get upset the gates are open, but when they are closed they are upset there is not universal gate code, but instead a calling system. The only thing that I have noticed is that it takes a few days to a week or so to get work orders completed. The property is fairly older and has about 600 apartments, so it is very understanding if a common, non-emergency work order is not completed same day or week. I am pretty sure that many serious things break more common than most people think here. My last apartment had the hot water heater, A/C, and both tub manifolds replaced and it took a lot of time. My current apartment had the hot water heater replaced. This is not a 30 minute, one man job, but takes time to complete correctly. When maintenance do complete work orders, they are very nice. Always leaving work order notes or explaining what they did. Sometimes they even find other minor things like dead light bulbs and squeaky doors and fix them without a work order. I used to wait 3 months for a work order to be complete, so waiting a week for a filter isnt the death of anyone. Of course being an older property with a lot of units will have its flaws, but it is very affordable and the office will do their best to help you regardless of what you hear. If you are looking for a decent apartment that will make you feel at home with a lot of trees, great office staff, thats affordable, and comes with a covered parking spot, this is your place.

Moved in last July. Office staff was great, friendly and helpful. Maintenance was fast easy and efficient. But the original company that owned Ashely Oaks sold to another and things quickly went down hill. Staff that I had grown to know and trust were replaced and their replacements did not last either. It is a revolving door of incompantents that I can only blame on managment. New programs such as mandatory paid trash pick up has been implemented with no opt out option, despite multiple tenants stating they did not want the service. A snarky email was sent out as a response to complaints stating it was to provide optimal service experience.Maintenance took days rather than hours to fix anything, and when we had a massive sewage back up in our guest bathroom it took over a week to get it resolved. When called multiple times regarding the sanitation and smell concerns we were informed we should call our renters insurance to see about getting a hotel. We kept getting the run around.We left for a short bit on day 6 to escape the smell for a bit to come home to dirty boot prints in our living room and no note about who was in our apartment. When we called the office asking if maintenance had been in the office replied with no, it doesnt show anyone has been in your appartment.The office had failed to realize that the contractors had somehow gotten a key from the OFFICE and been in to fix our plumbing.The contractors also left 7 holes in our guest bathroom wall which, again, the office had to be called to have fixed. Again it took a few more days.This place was once run like a top rate place, and has now sunk to the bottom since management changed.Dont live here unless you want a head ache. Or if the old company buys it back

My apartment was full of mold and it took a week for them to come out and fix the situation. Will not be renewing my lease here and i advise everyone not to live here. Better apartments and cheaper else where.

The manager Maria isnt helpful and quite condescending. Weve been having a major problem with the company, since they have been randomly taking money out of our bank without our consent and no one can tell us why but they understand. The assistant manager Carla was helpful but other then that couldnt help to explain way. Maria, the manager came in to tell me that there was nothing they could do and the best thing would be to get my bank to stop sending the money. I didnt know that I worked for them now and I have to work out this problem. The front gate has been broken for months now and they informed me that the managers are discussing different possible solutions but that it will take quite a while before anything happens. Which of course explains why peoples apartments have been broken into, (our neighbours apartment was broken into, they took everything and it took them weeks to fix the hole in his door. He moved out since he no longer felt safe) cars, and the mail boxes. They informed us that they were going to put a gate for the mail..never happened. The pools are either green or clean but always smell funny and the floors are slimy. After my daughter got an infection from the pool we have stopped going. Things seem to always be dirty, broken and nothing is being done. The price for the apartments are relatively cheap but for all the broken, half done things in your apartment its really not worth it. The AC units are extremely old, our smells of mold and for a one bedroom we pay $100 to $120 a month for AC even though we keep it at 75 degrees. Weve asked them to check it or upgrade them, but they said as long as its working they is nothing they will do. We cant wait for our lease to finish and we can move out. If you have standards and want a safe apartment for you and your children...dont move here.

I regret moving here, the people in the office made it sound so nice because of the schools located around the area but these apartments are not worth it. First they have really bad plumbing issues along with mold, we started getting mold in our unit the second month we lived here, we have dust mites which the office is not doing nothing about, the security gates are always messed up and opened, parking is limited so if you have more than one vehicle..... good luck. The office is really unorganized, we received three evictions notices in the past two months by accident. I cant wait until our lease is up so we can get the hell out of here.

DO NOT MOVE IN TO THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX !! I’ve been living here for two years and since day one I’ve had so much problems. But what has really done it for me is that we have been without a working a/c for two weeks if not longer. Ive called and told them and explained how I have a 7 month old baby and a 4 year old. They did nothing.. finally I had enough of it so I went in to the office with both my daughters and the manager Andrea was of no help what so ever. She just got really rude and tried getting loud with me... they only seem really nice and helpful when u are trying to lease with them but after that’s done that’s it they’re of no help what so ever!! Definitely do not recommend this apartment at all

I have lived here for about a year. I started in a 1 bedroom and then this past April, we moved to a 2 bedroom in a different building. Ever since moving to the 2 bed, we cant seem to get maintenance to come out for anything. It takes several work orders, emails, and phone calls to get anyone out and then when they finally do come out they dont fix anything. They tell the office staff that theres nothing wrong. Our toilets were broken for WEEKS, constantly overflowing with little to no toilet paper in them, etc. Maintenance came out, flushed one of them a couple of times and left a note saying it worked for them so they werent going to fix it. Finally after weeks of detailed work orders, phone calls, and even going into the office and telling them EXACTLY what about the toilet was broken, they finally fixed it. It still runs after we flush, but dealing with maintenance is such a headache, I dont care to fix it. Also, we asked to be put on a bi-weekly schedule with pest control, meaning he would come every other Monday to spray. He came 1 time. Once. We all the sudden have roaches in our bathroom and kitchen and we cannot get rid of them. Ive put in work orders in person, online, Ive emailed and called and nothing is being done. He never comes. Ive resorted to putting a work order in 1-2 times a week just to make sure they remember to have pest control stop by, STILL NOTHING. I was told by office staff that there was a note in the system so that ALL staff would see we are to be on a bi-weekly schedule with pest control. Not a damn thing is being done. Were spraying with store bought spray but its not enough and we shouldnt have to. They charge $6 something a month for pest control yet they cant ever seem to get him to come out to our unit. Our walkway (part of the building) outside smells like straight up pee. I definitely notice a difference in how well the grounds are kept from my original 1 bedroom to my new 2 bedroom unit. ALSO, Upon move in to our unit, we were told that they were cleaning/freshening it up. We walked into the dustiest, dirtiest new apartment Ive ever seen. Our carpets were so matted and sticky, there was no sign of a vacuum being used. They said they had it cleaned in January when the previous tenant moved out, well this was mid March and it was dirty. There was HAIR in the bath tub, we literally JUST got our keys and there was someone elses hair on the walls of our bath tub. The stove was dirty, window screens were broken and not secure, fridge was dirty and there was legitimately a layer of dust all over the floor. I wrote it all down on our inventory sheet but I was really unhappy. When they walked through our old unit they sent me a bill for $130! I have to pay them even though my new place was in worse shape than the old one. I understand these are 2 different units, therefore 2 different situations BUT, for all the trouble this place has caused and how dirty our new unit was, you would think they would compensate someway. Nope. They dont care, I doubt they even pay attention to their reviews and if they do they probably dont care about these either. They also tell you that you can only have 1 parking spot per unit when there are DOZENS that are constantly un-used by my building. Parking sucks as it is, thanks for making it harder. Their contract workers also park in the covered spots, too. I love coming home to some random companys truck in my spot all the time. :) These are just issues with MY unit, I could go on about the complex but that would take me days to write.Moral of the story, live somewhere else. We cant wait to get out.

My two roommates and I have lived here for almost a year, and were very unsatisfied with service.On move in day, I arrived with my U-haul and went to the management office to get my key. They told us it would be ready in the morning when we signed the lease, but the day-of told me Id have to wait another 4 hours because my unit wouldnt be ready on time.My roommates and I were attracted to these apartments partially because its a gated community; we were told upon move in that the gates werent working just now, but they were going to be fixed asap. We lived here for about 5-6 months before the gates actually started working (they were left open all the time).Several mailboxes were broken into.There was a pest problem of cockroaches and other bugs that every time we put a work order in for, they charged us for pest control on our next rent. We were told that pest control fate was included with the lease.The entire management office is run via outdated methods. Every work order must be filled out with pen and paper (an inconvenience for people who go to work early and get home late). Half way through our year, the management tried to set up an online portal for rent to be paid, but it is only able to be paid by one person in full, which made it difficult for us to split up evenly.Upon deciding not to renew our lease, we went to the office to give them our notice. Their method for giving us back our safety deposit is unnecessarily inconvenient. We asked if they would consider another method, to which they responded that their system just wont allow them to do it any other way (all other apartments / management teams have been able to return the safety deposit in an easier fashion before).

**Horrible overall experience**I moved into my apartment in NOV 2013 and literally before i moved in we had issues. First of all the office staff apparently didnt know we were due to move in so when we called to make sure we were good to go they said our apartment was in the middle of being remodeled and we had to postpone the move in date. After postponing we showed up on the agreed upon date and our apartment was still not ready. we were forced to move into an apartment that was halfway remodeled. One of the biggest issues was a hole in the ceiling that was leaking... it took them over 1 month to fix it. Not only was it ugly it was a health hazard because mold was growing inside the hole. We ended up having to call an insurance adjuster to light a fire under their butts.The office staff is horrible, you will be waiting at least a couple weeks before they fix any reported issues and thats only if you keep asking about it. We made friends with one of the maintenance leads so now we just call him and bypass the entire formal process. The gym equipment is in poor shape and the main pool is broken and looks disgusting. As far as crime goes, a young guy was caught trying to break into an apartment and club house but other than that it has been safe and quiet. the gates are finally fixed, so that helps, but thats about the only good thing about the place.***Dont waste your time with this place***

If your unit has any maintenance issue, dont expect them to fix it promptly. When I moved in, I found a lots of pre-existing issues. I had to contact them 4 times within 5 weeks before they actually showed up to fix some of the issues. After more than 3 months, I still have 3 things that have not been fixed yet and it looks like they are not willing to fix it at all. The biggest issue that I still have is the cigarette smoking smell coming from the exhaust ventilation in my master bedroom. I guess the below units have some smokers. I will definitely not staying here long or suggesting anyone moving in Ashley Oaks Apts.I talked to the management again regarding the cigarette smoking smell and they said they could not do anything about it. If I want, I have to knock the doors of units below mine and beg them to stop smoking in the bathroom, otherwise, my family including a little kid to suck it up till the end of the contract.I also reported the second time within 2 months about a lot of black little objects coming out from the faucet (a lots to the point that I can feel weird things in my mouth after taking a sip) and they said it was normal and told me to let the water run until it clear before using it every single time. I thought I let the water run until it is warm to use was more than enough, but apparently, not at all. Im just wondering what type of water systems does this apartment have? Would you like to sign the lease and find out something wrong inside your apartment, and then you have to suck it up for the rest of your contract because they cant do anything about it?2/15, I contacted a NEW apartment manager about the water issue again and requested her or send someone to my unit to see what happened with the water at that time, but she refused to do so. She then came later on the same day when I was not at home and claimed she saw nothing coming out from the faucet, however she saw I left a big mixing bowl with a lots of small black objects in the water. She told me she would contact the water company to inspect the water system because it most likely came from the water system and her maintenance team could not do anything about it. Today, 5 weeks later, I asked the manager about the status, she said she sent some apartment maintenance guy to inspect and saw nothing, therefore, her management team could do nothing about it. She disregarded the facts that I sent many pictures about the same issue since I moved in and David, a maintenance guy, saw himself once when he responded to one of my water issues around 1/15. How could a manager level can answer such an irresponsible way? I also contacted the corporate level in CA for help, but nothing changed.Another thing, my car parked at an assigned spot just got smashed the window by some theft recently and I also heard I was not the first one. So, good luck to those who plan to sign a contract with them!Last week, the manager brought a SAWS guy to my unit and he confirmed the rubber inside the hose connecting to the sink faucet was the cause due to too old. The manager and her team seem to care more about all issues have been happening in my unit since I moved in. She said she would take care them all at once. I hope the management team can take care the trouble calls and all other issues promptly and effectively from now on.

When we first started looking for a new apartment complex in March 2014, everything with Ashley Oaks looked very good. However, ever since we moved in April 2014, everything has fallen apart. First of all, I was assured that everything would be ready for me to move in. When I opened the door, the new apartment was completely trashed, dirty, and incomplete. The walls were dirty, and I discovered that they lied to me about the apartment having wood floors (they are linoleum). The bathroom had no faucets, shower heads, or water controls. The (supposedly brand new) toilets leaked, and the tile around the toilets was not finished. This was just the beginning of our problems. So far, we have had to have our ceiling fan replaced, the air conditioning fixed three times, a smoke detector installed (missing when we moved in), faucets, shower heads, and water controls installed in the bathroom and a toilet fixed.One of our toilets still leaks, the door frames are rotted, our dishwasher has stopped working, our stove barely works, and, as icing on the cake, our shower now leaks into the wall, as well as into the tub around the water control. The tile still has not been fixed. Meanwhile, the head maintenance man is closing the pool to residents so that he can throw pool parties until 2 AM. Never mind that one of the carports collapsed in a storm on top of several cars parked under it and is still laying there, almost a month later, blocking about five parking spaces. Never mind that there is not a single gate in this supposed gated community that works (and by work, I mean they do not close at all and most of them are off their tracks). Meanwhile, management does... well, what appears to be absolutely nothing, other than trying to get more suckers to move into this abysmal excuse of an apartment complex.Needless to say, DO NOT move into this apartment complex. I can tell you for a fact that SellSmart Reality has this apartment complex on a do not show list.

DO NOT RENT HERE! This place has black mold coming out of the vents and only 3 or 4 maintenance workers for well over 100 units. They take two-three hour lunches in the community room next to the fitness center and stare at women working out. The office staff rarely answers the phone and does not check the online maintenance requests. There is no emergency maintenance number, you have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back. It could be hours or days before this happens. If they do make a repair, they will not update the system, I have had my toilet fixed and replaced 2 times because they did not mark the work order as complete. At times they buy refurbished junk appliances from a trailer that drives through the complex to use for replacements. The fire department has been called out to numerous units because of old wiring that has caused electrical fires. The fire department has to leave a message just to get a response. I am paying nearly $200 for electricity for 1 adult & 1 child and my A/C is on 75 and I work 5 days a week and travel 1-2 weekends per month. In the winter it is $150. I am paying $45-50 monthly for community water and some units in my building are vacant. They do not do any preventive up keeping or updating until something goes wrong. They then only patch it up. I have had roof leaks, which they cant fix while its raining and then send someone out weeks later. It later rains and you realize you still have the same problem. If the person above you has a water leak it will seep down to your unit through the walls causing more mold and nothing will be done about it. The hallways are filthy with leaves and tree debris and the ground are full of cigarette butts. I am living here only because the rent is less than $1000 for 2bdr. and a single mom, but I have had it.

I was moving from Kansas City to San Antonio and everything was officially set up with the apartment complex months before I moved. On the day I was moving down there from Kansas City I got a call from the apartment complex asking if I was still interested in possibly renting from them. I was confused because I had already paid my deposit fee and application fee and as far as I was concerned everything was officially set up but they had no record of this. The day I got there my apartment was not ready because they had no idea I was even moving into the complex. They explained that the person who had taking care of my account was fired and thats where the confusion came from. I had to stay in a hotel for a night until they could get a unit ready for me. They did not reimburse me for this inconvenience. As soon as you move in any niceness or helpfulness will completely stop from the staff. After I finally wised up and moved out a couple months later I found out that I had a balance of $300 that they were sending to collections. I simply did not want to deal with them anymore so I paid this off and went on with my life. A few years later when I was trying to rent another apartment Ashley Oaks came up as me still owing $300 to them. They had never taking this off of my application record and now I was being punished for their negligence. I had to do a lot of work trying to get records that I did indeed pay this and it was a super inconvenience and hassle to get this sorted out. The mismanagement and disorganisation of the staff is mind-blowing. Ive lived in 12 + apartments and never had any problems like Ive had with Ashley Oaks. Also if you receive mail they keep it in the closet and will sometimes bury it behind other packages . I went there asking for my mail that I was expecting and they told me several times that they had nothing for me finally I asked if I could go into the closet and look for myself and lo and behold there it was . They simply just dont care . Maintenance is almost non-existent . Do not rent here.

I would not recommend Ashley Oaks at all. The people that work in the office are nice, but maintenance is horrible. There are requests that are still outstanding from the first few months we moved in and our lease is over in a month. I requested the paint color so I could paint back the walls and it has been 3 weeks and still no response. Maintenance is very slow to do anything and I have had to call multiple times just to get them to come out. Dumpsters are always overflowing, pools are never clean, the hot tub has been broken since i moved in. Not a good place to live. Not to mention there are tons of roaches and spiders, you get charged for someone to spray every month but they don’t come unless you request it. Did not even think of resigning the lease.

I have lived here for more than 5 years. The current management, Caprock, is a joke. The security gates have not worked for years, the lighting for the parking has been out for almost the entire 5 years. Yet, monies were spent to bring in river rock to replace the grass that wont grow. The most current problem is with the new tenant across the hall - they leave their garbage outside their front door - repeatedly. I have been in contact with the onsite management (almost daily) for close to a month. The garbage attracts ants that have migrated to my unit, infiltrated my pantry, and infested my washer (bought March 11) and made it inoperable. Managements response, You cant prove the ants are from the tenant across the hallway. Great! Ill try to find little tracking devices to have surgically implanted in the ants to track their migration.Stay away!

By far one of the worst living experiences I have had with an apartment complex. My fiance and I moved into the complex back in December of 2012 and have had problems since. We initially started out on a 2nd floor unit until we realized we had the neighbor from hell. She constantly harassed us and called the cops on us stating that we walked too loud, but it did not stop there. She would bang on her ceiling/our floor whenever we moved around the apartment. When we alerted the leasing office they did not take action and ignored our complaints. This happened a total of 6 times!!!! But then one night the neighbor slamed her door so hard that it knocked our tv off the wall and as a result I called the cops then. And needless to say she didnt like that. The next day we had a note on our door from the leasing office stated we either had to move to another unit or be evicted, and did i mention my fiance was pregnant the whole time and they did not care one bit of the stress being put on my fiance.So we moved to another unit thinking the nightmare was over, but we were wrong. the apartment was not finished being renovated and was missing pieces around the unit. For example the dry bar was missing wooden planks that they promised to come fix the whole year we were there but never did. and the final straw was when my family and I were eating dinner and found rats running through the kitchen. we alerted the leasing office but they took 2 days to get back to us stating it wasnt a life or death matter. a week later they came and placed traps around the unit, but would not come pick up the dead rats. We had to call the health inspector many times on them. then they stopped answering my calls and emails i would send about the rat urine and poop i was finding around the apartment, i was not going to have my newborn around this. so while we were getting ready to close on a house, they refused to send our realitor the info she needed to complete documents for the seller and even got nasty and rude with my fiance in front of my baby. They lied about sending the information and when i called them out on it they resent the document but mixed our information up with another tentant and put that we were late on the rent 10 times. and when confronted about it, all they said was oops. we we did not get that house because of their actions, but we ended up finding another house and could not be happier to be out of that hell hole.BOTTOM LINE DO NOT MOVE HERE, NASTY, DIRTY, AND RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF.

Not happy with the staff. They are overworked and forgetful. I have had three incidents with water leaking into and out of my apartment. Each time this occurred the problem was met with incomplete results which required constant follow up on my part to make sure the job was done correctly. Due to my nagging to get the job done, the staff has turned cold on me and started acting rude and uninterested in my inquiries. Every time I talk to them I feel like I’m being shooed away as soon as possible. To add a few other things the security gates have been broken since we moved in but it seems repairs are being attempted by the staff. The general idea with Ashley Oaks is shoddy upkeep with minimal customer service.
