I had action come repair shower. Took 15 minutes. Replaced a 2 dollar part. Charged me 165 dollars. I’m totally disgusted with the company. Never use them again.

Coming from a Dental Office here in town, we have used Action Mechanical a few times for our mechanical needs, so I though it was time to write this review. This group has always been great with us! They are fast, efficient, and we always know what were paying before. I highly recommend them if you want the job done right and fast. THANK YOU ACTION MECHANICAL!

They were able to get me schedule within a few business days. They have an emergency service if needed. The technicians were very knowledgeable, and attentive. They listened to the history of the unit and used the information to fix the problem.

My water sprinkler backflow was leaking so I called them. They sent someone out who said they would need to order parts. The guy was here from the initial call until he left for 29 minutes....he told me before he left the part would be available in a few days...I waited a week and called back...they had no clue and said obviously the part was not here yet but should be there early the next week. I called again the following Friday and was told...oh my the part is here, but we are really busy...maybe Monday.....while my grass was dying. The guy called and showed up and was here 32 minutes......got my bill and was charged 2 1 hours sessions of 96 dollars. The supervisor Jerry raised his voice and said we came twice and it is an hour minimum each time, but they failed to tell me that originally.....he said we have been here 25 years and it has never changed...like I knew that. If you want to be overcharged and treated poorly go with these guys,,,,,if you dont then please take your business elsewhere.

I recommend Action Mechanical for any plumbing needs, ask for Gary. We remodeled a condo and Gary was there several times to install new faucets and fixtures and shutoff valves, etc. Very professional work, very nice person.

We decided to utilize Action Mechanical due to its reviews. The service we received the first time was decent, however, the technician did not fix something and we then had a water leak. Called this in, they fixed it, and then charged us for the first technicians mistake. We attempted to resolve the issue, however, Action Mechanical response was rude and did not want to work with us. Yes, they did reduce the charge but not in manner that was satisfactory to the services received.

They charged me $5,455 to install new AC unit. While installing screwed up the wiring for the boiler which then we had NO HEAT all night in SD in February. Because of this they had to bring a boiler guy over he opened a valve adding water and charged me an additional $204.48. Called them and and spoke with Bill who was anything but helpful and professional. Would NOT recommend this company for anything!

Contacted Action Mechanical to replace 3 toilets at our home and remove the old ones. Billy was here at 8:00 am and was finished by 10:30 qm. Billy wasted no time and was very professional. Friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. The man who came out (I think his name is Tim) noticed an odd set up in our laundry and probably saved us THOUSANDS in potential damage by quickly rectifying the issue as well as the original reason for a call.

These guys are fantastic! I have been with them since we moved to Rapid in January and the house had a frozen pipe that broke! They came out super fast and fixed it in a reasonable time. It was a weekend, but they were very good about keeping the costs down. I have never had any problems with them at all! They always call before coming and will always call if they are running late. I love these guys!

I’ve used Action Mechanical for plumbing and heating issues over the years. Each time they are friendly, professional, quick, and clean. Also, their repairs seem reasonably priced. I called earlier this afternoon with a clogged kitchen sink, and Eric and Donovan came out later today and made quick, efficient work of the job. AM also called before they arrived, telling me what time I could expect them. I’ve got their magnet on the fridge and will be calling them again when the unexpected pops up.

Long yet honest review: A mechanic was sent to us to diagnose our water heater as it was not working properly and the mechanic said it needed to replaced. The insurance company requested a detailed diagnoses why the water heater needed to be replaced and the Action Mechanical failed to provide a detail reason why and kept telling us that it just needed to be replaced. We tried to get in touch with the mechanic that was sent to the house but we were always forwarded to Kelly who had not been to the house to actually look at the system and had no idea what was wrong and why the water heater needed to be replaced. Action mechanical offered that they would like to come to the house to evaluate again but demanded ANOTHER charge for doing what should have been done the first time. After several calls we decided to work with another mechanical company in town who were very cooperative and helped the insurance company better understand the problem with the heating system and how to resolve it in a timely manner.After a week we received a bill from Action Mechanical who charged for coming out and checking the water heater after hours. After discussing this with Kelly from Action he said the bill neednt be paid as they had not provided the proper diagnosis yet they sent ANOTHER bill for the same reason and demanded that we pay it despite not doing their job properly and threatened that it will be sent to collections office and Kelly stated he was not willing to listen or argue regarding this as the bill was sent per policy. Very unfair and unprofessional. All we requested was that they do their job as I believe this be the utmost priority in their work policy.

Great service and quick! My water heater went out a few months ago and they were there installing a new one the same day I called them! We also had a small leak in our basement plumbing, I told them it was a slow leak conveniently located right next to our drain, so it was no rush, but they were there and had it fixed within a few hours!

I could not be happier with Action. We have used them several times. Today was the best experience, they took care of our issue and explained everything to my 5 year old along the way. Keep up the great work

I called at 10am for service on our furnace and by noon we had a technician at our home. Seth was great, incredibly friendly and professional. By 12:30 we were up and running. This is not our first visit from Action Mechanical, they have been amazing each and every visit. We will be customers for life. Great job Missy and Team!

I’ve had them out the past 3 summers because my AC isn’t keeping my house cool. They sent someone out each time, “charged” my system, their mechanic sits in their truck for an hour and a half, says they think it’s running just fine, and send me a big bill (labor). Their boss, Chris, came out last summer because I complained, looked at our square footage and the unit, said it was because I can’t have anything remotely close to any vents and the unit itself is fine. Customer service was awful. This summer I finally call someone else and find out the truth is because the unit itself is too small for my house size. Will not ever use them again.

Replaced our neighbors central air unit. Drove onto our yard and ran over our fire place area. Left marks and spots on the yard from turning around. Contacted the office and was told the supervisors where out for the day. Left a msg with the receptionist, said they would call back the next day to get it resolved. Never did and now I am stuck repairing it my self.Do not recommend them!

After a week in our newly purchased house, we discovered leaking water. I called the 24 hr service line and Nick was very helpful. He was at the house at 7 am the next morning. He fixed what he could that day. He returned with all the parts needed for the other issues and went above and beyond to help us. He was professional and polite. He answered all of my questions and gave us suggestions for other money saving improvements.

Awesome customer service! Called after hours because my AC went out. They have answering service that takes your information and they called 7am when they opened and were out at my house by 9:30 that day. Called guy came out very very rude, told a bunch of bs told us are idea could not be done wanted to run outside not inside. Called another company got done easy no issues. Told us was gonna send quote, two weeks have been by no quote, will not use nor do I RECOMMEND.

I called them at 7 am on a Thursday. My hot water heater was not working and company was on their way to my house for the weekend. At 7:15 a service tech was at my house and at 8 am my hot water heater was fixed. The technician was polite, professional, and even educated me about maintaining my water heater. Higlyy recommend!

From start to finish Action Mechanical was great!! Raja came to my home to fix a leaking water line. He was nothing less than professional, polite, informative, and wasted no time. I was very comfortable having him in my home. I have nothing but good things to say about this experience.

They had installed new kitchen faucet over 1 yr ago and they replaced sprayer with new after 10 months when it failed and today sprayer went bad again so they replaced whole faucet with a different brand that was more expensive at no charge. They are great and weve used them many times for plumbing and electrical.

When temps soured they were able to provide same day service without the need for an emergency call. Mom’s house was cool in record time. Everyone was pleasant and easy to work with. THANK YOU!

When another company was stalling in getting our air conditioner hooked back up after they replaced our furnace, I called Action Mechanical and they were on it the next day, had the part ordered and in the next week. Great service!! Will recommend to anyone that asks us!

I needed two new heaters for the greenhouse and they were able to get them installed right away.

I called Action Mechanical at 7:00 AM and they promised to have a tech out at 9:00 AM to resolve a leaking AC/Furnace unit. They were right on time and very professional and had the issue fixed within 30 minutes. EXCELLENT service at a very fair price!

We called action mechanical out to fix our broken furnace in February 2017. The tech had told us a switch needed to be replaced so he fixed the issue and we paid our bill the day of service. A week later it broke again so I called to let them know they had been out the week before and it had stopped working. They sent a new tech out and said a control panel now needed replaced. When they were finished he told us they would bill us because he did not know how they would handle the labor portion since we had just paid the week prior and that had not fixed the initial problem. We never received a bill or anything from them. My husband had got order to relocate to a new AF base so we sold our house and left Rapid. Eight months later we finally get a bill. I was so irritated and I called and spoke to Chris. I explained what had happened and that it was an error in their billing department and how unprofessional it was to send me a bill after that much time had passed. I told him we are no longer in the state of SD. All he could say was Ive only been here since June and I am trying to figure out why a bill was never sent out. And all I can do is take the labor fees off of the bill. Very disappointed that they drop the ball and then just say sorry. Completely unprofessional!! Although I do not live there any longer I will definitely not be recommending them to any of my friends or family that still are there. I only gave them a 1 star because they finally got the furnace to work.

I called regarding a 40 gallon box water heater that would not stay lit. Jerry knew this was a water heater for which they did not carry parts but said they would stop over to try to determine the problem. From there we would decide whether to replace or fix. The service person showed up with a bit of an attitude, stood before the water heater and said he didn’t know why he was there as he could not do anything and they were busy. He told me we should have called the 800 number on heater. I told him they had come out before and helped and never suggested we self-diagnose. He said he did not know why he was there and that we should be doing our own diagnosis by calling. I told him to leave and not bill me. I called Jerry to tell him how rude the service man was and Jerry acted as i was the idiot for asking for help. Why would Jerry dispatch a service person if he couldn’t/wouldn’t help?If Jerry had said on the phone there was nothing he could do I would have moved on. I will never use ACTION MECHANICAL again. Everyone’s time was wasted and their behavior was rude and unprofessional.

Im a previous customer and the work that time was good. But...I just called to ask them to install a new, still in the box, water heater that I had already purchased and they said they wont do that work unless I purchase the water heater from them. I guess that the loss of whatever markup they put on the cost of a new water heater is large enough for them not to want my business in the future....I am disappointed and will find a company that wants my business.

The first time these guys were great. The second time they overcharged and procrastinated to make sure the bill was incredibly high. Find someone else!!!

The people working at Action Mechanical are willing to do anything at any time. How can I not be impressed with that? It stands out to me every time I use them. Any business that will go out at 2:00 in the morning to get a job done is excellent, in my opinion.

Our A/C unit stopped working on the weekend, we called numerous companies who put us on the on call list, but Action Mechanical got us in within a few hours of us calling. Bill and Doug came, were very professional, educated us on what had happened and got things fixed quickly for a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend them, and will use again.

Did a great job on a faucet replacement in my shower/tub.

Called at 130pm for a slow main sewer drain. By 2pm they showed up ran the snake found block and had them paid and on their way by 210pm. They get payed by the hour and so for that im happy how fast they did, no issues or backups since. Call these guys!

Called with a problematic water heater and within 2 hours a technician was at my door. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and extremely courteous. They will be the first ones I call if (when) I have other plumbing issues.

I waited to make this review till after I spoke with the general manager to see if their customer service would surpass the initial price I was charged.I had a guy come out to do a quote.. he said $250 and knew all the parts he needed. They kept no record of this quote. When they came to do the work they left for 45 minutes to go get parts. That 1.5 hours (2 guys) that I should not have had to pay because they should have came prepared. The last hour they were here they sat around watching my brown water, trying to tell me I have something wrong and they didnt do it. finally we found out that my subs water was turned off, as they continued to waste time by sitting around and doing absolutely nothing. Thats 2 hours I should not have paid. My final bill was just under $700. WHAT?! a quote is so I can budget for a plumber. Telling me $250 then going to $700 is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, the manager got it down to $480, but did not want to hear anything I had to say about my concerns while they were here. Thats still double my quote. Not recommending to anyone in my area because who knows what they will charge them.

Had them install a new furnace and AC. The installers were very professional and did an excellent job with everything.

They came out to repair a bunch of leaking pipes in my basement, cut my internet cable and tried to hide it by wrapping the cable up and hiding it behind a pipe. They said they unclogged my bathroom sink because it was draining slow. The day after they left the u bend came off completely underneath the sink getting everything wet. I called and let Action Mechanical know about both issues and they came out on the weekend to fix the pipe, and I got two bills! One for the regular work they did, no mention of my cut cable, and a bill with weekend pricing for the pipe they unclogged. However, after I called back they took care of my weekend bill.

I had a problem that revealed itself once again not more than a month after it was fixed and action mechanical came and inspected it on their time to make sure it wasnt something they did wrong. A good company for certain.

This review is for the Action Mechanical HVAC department. This summer, we had to have our in-slab cold air return ducts sealed off and new ducting routed through the wall, and the experience with Action Mechanical HVAC guys had been great. From the estimate provided by Chris and his willingness to indulge the whims of our insurance adjuster to the work performed by his crew to uninstall our furnace, build a return box, the cold air return, and re-install the furnace, everything went very smoothly. Everyone we worked with was professional and courteous, and the work was completed in a timely manner. If we ever need any other HVAC work done, Chris and the crew would be our go-to service.
