Nice, knowledgeable and professional people. Fast service. However, be warned that this place is located next to the sketchiest trailer park in Rapid City. After dropping off my car, I walked north to the end of the road and paused to check my phone for nearby fast food joints when two guys and a dog from 18 E New York St. approached me swearing and name-calling. I continued North and they followed me until I crossed the creek. Have someone to pick you up and drop you off if you get a repair done here.
This is the best shop in Rapid City hands down! Taylor and Troy are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They kept me updated on the process the entire time and answered all my questions. When I picked my car up they explained everything in a manner I could understand and gave me advice on what I needed to do moving forward to keep my car on the road! Whether you need a simple oil change or an engine overhaul the mechanics at Advanced Auto are the only people you should trust.
Troy got my car in right away for a new alternator and got me a ride back free when the tow company wouldn’t. Great customer service!
These guys are great. Highly professional, knowledgeable, skilled, and honest. Nice folks and super accommodating. We were passing through town on a Friday, and it became clear our brakes were not safe to continue on our trip. The shop had a full schedule, but they made time for us, did the repair, and got us on our way that afternoon. Ive got nothing against Rapid City, but we werent planning on spending the weekend there! They laid out different options and their costs, and did not try to up-sell us or steer us toward more expensive options. Super honest and straightforward. I would not hesitate to trust these guys with my car.
I took my vehicle to the AAR on Cherry Ave and initially had a great experience, especially with Troy behind the counter being helpful. Got my vehicle back and the issue seemed fix. However a few days later the issue with the engine came back. I took it back and they re-diagnosed it and this time, even though it was the same problem, they told me it had a much bigger issue that went deeper into the engine. I tell them to go ahead and fix it. One whole month passes by. I get a few updates from Troy along the way, but not as many as I would have liked considering they had my truck for a month. Issues with parts being delivered was one reason, which I completely understand because that is out of their control. Another issue with having to tow it to the Dodge dealership and it sitting there for awhile. However after one month and $3800 later I get a call saying its ready. When I go to get it, they had completely cut out my after-market remote start, saying it was prohibiting them from starting the vehicle, though the vehicle had previously started fine. While that sucks (and I still dont fully understand why), I was willing to bite that bullet so long as the main, bigger issue was fixed and they were able to start my truck. They didnt provide compensation for the loss of the remote start but whatever, I just needed my vehicle. I drive away in it and the steering wheel is almost sideways to the right and the alignment pulled so hard to the left I had to fight it home. I thought about taking it back but I just could not be without my truck any longer. Then about two days later I had cause to need to use my horn, and it didnt work. The horn was disengaged. Between having the Ram for a month, the removal of the remote start, not even able to straighten the wheel, and disengaging the horn, I just absolutely was not pleased with the final product. I STILL dont have those issues fixed because I cant find a good mechanic. I gave them two stars because they actually fixed the initial issue, the second time I brought it in, which Im ultimately thankful for. But because I think somebody messed something up with the remote start and then they couldnt so much as straighten out the wheel when they are done, I wont be recommending them.
Have had work done here thru the years on multiple vehicles. Very fair and honest. That is rare in itself. Would recommend them to my Grandmas Bible Study for sure!
I came to these guys off word of mouth and seeing their work. I dropped my truck off and they even got to it a day early. They were clear about the issue, even called me before hand to discuss the total out of door price of the repair, and knocked it out same day when I gave them the OK. Troy and his team did some good work. Ill be going here from now on for any future repairs. - Robert
Amazing, 5 stars from me amazing running like a champ.
Theyre so friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly have integrity. I wouldnt hesitate to go there for anything from routine service to larger overhauls. Highly recommend!
Got my old Toyota pick up fixed same day. Most shops would turn away working on something that old. 10/10 would recommend
I would never take my car anywhere else. They are always caring, honest and reliable. They have taken care of my moms car and my childrens car and I always get excellent service. Great prices and great people I highly recommend.
We were driving from OR to OH and needed a quick repair. Troy and the folks there were extremely helpful, quick, and affordable!
Incredible customer service, and very professional.
Fair and trustworthy mechanics here. Switched to them a few months ago and they were able to diagnose and correct issues on both of our mid-00s vehicles that our last mech. could not.
Great people and great service, with a open door policy. It is your vehicle and they want you to be involved with every step. They will take you into the shop to show and explain what is exactly wrong with your vehicle before repairs are done. You not find more knowledgeable people when it come to your vehicle and its systems.
Amazing service and time quality care took care of my car and was in and out. Yes they are still open too thank god.
Our family stopped here for maintenance durring the middle of our cross-country road trip. The staff were skilled and very friendly. They were able to quickly get the part we needed so that we could get back on the road on time. Definitely recommend!
Dont take your vehicle there. I spent 1600 dollars on 2 items that needed to be replaced. After they got them replaced it didnt fix the problems. I took it elsewhere. The other shop did a factory reset on my vehicle and it fixed my problems. They also told me the items that were replaced didnt need to be. Learned my lesson. I should have read previous reviews on this place.
Thank you for working me in today!Great communication with my concern. This is my new auto repair place!Thank you for taking care of my van today!!
Nice on the phone. Actually gave me feedback on resolving my issues (that I can do for free) rather than trying to sell service. I appreciate the honesty.
These guys are honest and treated me fairly. Fixed my truck for less than 400 bucks. They had the opportunity to pocket 3 grand and sit on my truck for two weeks but Chad kept on constant communication and his guys found the issue and fixed it in a day.
We love Advanced Auto! They always go above and beyond to take excellent care of us and I believe they are fair and honest in their recommendations and repairs.
I took my 2005 Hyundai Sonata in to have the heads replaced. I bought the heads, gasket kit and everything else to have the heads changed out. They called me and said the car was done so I went and picked it up. I got the car home and it had a gas leak and a oil leak. I fixed the gas leak myself and took the car back for the oil leak. Now they are telling me I might have got a bad cam seal in the head gasket kit so they are not going to fix it. Of course it wasnt installed wrong. I wouldnt take a thing back to these guys, they dont check things out before they send it out the door and they dont stand behind their work. 810.00 dollars later and I still have a car leaking oil.
Awesome experience !! Chad was really helpful and straight forward . honest service and done fast . highly recommended ! Thanks guys
Im forced to give at least 1 star but anyways, I took my car into AAR because it wouldnt start & needed to be jumped to start. Was hit & miss when this issue would occur. I set up an appt at 1pm. He called me around 3pm to say that they cant find anything wrong & vehicle started & ran fine for him. So again, he couldnt find anything wrong & nothing was repaired but somehow, he said I owed 205.00. When asked why I owe that, he said it was for his time. Total rip off especially when I went to the grocery store after leaving AAR & my car wouldnt start when I went to leave the store.
They are fantastic. Best auto repair shop in the Black Hills!
THEY SAVED MY ASS. I was moving my cat and everything I own up to MT whenmy trannie blew out 110 miles outside Rapid City. They got me in the next day. Turned out the only place in town that had a trannie for my Ranger was a sleazy scrap yard called A & A Salvage (dont go there). I appreciate their patience in dealing with them because A & A sold them the wrong trannie for my truck but Advanced Auto managed to make it work and didnt charge me up the ass for having to run back and forth there to deal with the schmucks to grab extra parts for it.They even picked me up from the house I was staying at and gave me a ride to the shop. The mechanic working on my truck even shared his lunch with me. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Go there.
Dropped off my integra, its been there for about 3 weeks, they fixed what they thought was wrong with it, charged me 600$ for a few sensors and when I went to pick it up, anti freeze was leaking out of my car and it seemed to be driving worse then what it was when I dropped it off, they waisted my time and money and sense Im only 19 I think they took advantage of that! Just tried to start up my car and now it wont start, dropped if off with less problems then it has now sense I picked it up, Ill be in there monday
