I dont think I understood what people mean by saying family about MauMaus academy before coming here. The atmosphere in this academy is incredible. Im constantly feeling as if I was generously invited to a Brazilian family dinner. No BS, no politics, just positive energy and endless learning from a world-class teacher and each other ❤️❤️❤️

Besides being a great BJJ instructor Mau Mau is extremely patient and ALWAYS positive. Those last two things make for an excellent experience attending his academy. The students who attend also follow Mau Maus example and are always welcoming and helpful. The gym is also extremely neat and clean.

Love this place, they are very good and patient with kids!Keep it going guys!Mau Mau Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy Code of Conduct:01. Always be respectful, check your attitude at the door. This is the wrong place for people with bad intentions.02. Be on time for class. If you are late, wait off the mat until your instructor gives you permission to join.03. Respect the mat. Always bow when stepping on and off.04. Keep quiet during instruction. Gossip and drama will not be tolerated.05. Do not leave the mat area without permission from the Instructor.06. No foul language inside the Academy.07. Keep feet clean. No dirty feet on the mat.08. You must wear shoes or flip flops when you are not on the mat.09. If you (or your child) is sick, please stay home. Training can wait until you are well.10. Your uniform must be clean and odor free at all times. A dirty uniform is a sign of disrespect. (and it’s gross).11. Be respectful towards your training partners. There is nothing to prove in class.12. Do not coach your children during class13. All jewelry, piercings, necklaces, and other items should be removed during training.14. Keep fingernails and toenails neatly trimmed.15. No shoes, food, or drinks on the mat.16. Leave your troubles at the door, relax, have fun….find your “escape”17. Have fun.OssI love it :-) !!!

Professor Robson “Mau Mau” is the best BJJ instructor in Massachusetts! He’s very patient and knowledgeable. He will take his time to explain and help your BJJ game.Mau Mau academy also has a Muay Thai instructor name Dave. Dave is a very good Muay Thai instructor. I also recommend training at Mau Mau if you want to improve your striking skills.

Mau-Mau BJJ is a great place to train! I love it here and come as much as possible. The training is serious, but the classes are still fun. Mau-Mau is extremely knowledgeable and is always present to help each student. Its a good place if you want to compete but thats not a requirement. The students are friendly and welcoming to everyone. As a female, I really appreciate that aspect of the gym. There is no nonsense with payments. No contracts to worry about either which is nice. Definitely give it a try if your looking for a place to train.

A fun atmosphere, absolutely no inflated egos, a world champion(several times) for an instructor and great teammates that seem like family. Ive trained at 3 other Bjj gyms, but only this one is home. OSS!

Professor Mau Mau Robson Rodrigues runs a top notch BJJ Academy! He is very friendly and helpful. He has a great group of guys that train at his school. I am just visiting the Boston area. Professor John Piper at Charlotte Jiu Jitsu Academy highly recommended Mau Maus academy. If you live in the area near Medford, I definitely recommend you train at this academy. If you are traveling through like I was, you will definitely fine some good healthy camaraderie at this school. Oss!

We were fortunate to have Professor Mau Mau come to Charlotte and teach a Kimura seminar. The seminar was phenomenal! Prof. Mau Mau took the time to answer any and all questions with a big smile and genuine care. A few months after the seminar and it seems everyone still has Kimura on the brain. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your knowledge with us Prof Mau Mau! Whether youre new to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or a seasoned veteran you can’t go wrong training with Mau Mau. Hope to see you back in Charlotte soon!

Mau Mau is world class. He has the experience, skills and medals to prove it. But more important is his passion for jiu-jitsu, his dedication to his students and his heart. Its obvious he loves what he does and the proof is in his students.

As of 1/26/17 Ive been with Mau Mau Bjj for 1 year. Thanks to a great coach/instructor & fellow students that welcome you, like an old friend, my life has improved in many ways. Training here, along with the jiu-jitsu lifestyle, has greatly helped my type1 diabetes, my confidence & sense of well-being. Jiu-jitsu, with MauMauBjj, has changed my life.

I have been training with Mau Mau for a year. This is definitely the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gymnasium. The curator Mau Mau is not only a world-class Bajo player (won many world-class competitions) but also a very nice person. The people in the museum are also very friendly, making you feel like a big family. Here you can learn world-class Jiu-Jitsu and you can make a lot of friends. Highly recommended! Oss!
