This is a great place to live! If youre looking for a quiet environment this is the place to be! One of my favorites parts about the community is the porch and also the friendliness of all the employees from the front office staff to the maintenance team! This place has everything you might be looking for from rooms with good spacing to being able to uniquely decorate your entire space! I wish I could stay here again! The only thing I would critique is the Gym Area. It has some good resistance equipment but be aware they do not have any squat or bench racks. There is a tanning bed but it doesnt seem to be used very frequently and it would be awesome to maybe swap it out for a sauna perhaps. Hope when COVID ends things will get back to being accessible 24/7. I have enjoyed my time here and I hope you do too!
University Suites is a great place to live. I recently signed my lease to live at Usuites for a second year. The apartment was very clean upon move in, and everything works great. The staff are really what makes the apartment worth what you pay (Even though they are decently priced!). The staff are always responsive, friendly, and maintenance has always been available when Ive needed them. Well worth the price, cant wait to live here another year!
I have lived at University Suites for the past 2 years and I absolutely loved it. My favorite part about living at Usuites is the community. The staff are all so nice and they really take the time to get to know all of their residents. I love that the office staff takes the time to match you with roommates (if you need it) based on common interests. When I first moved in, me and my 2 roommates were looking for a 4th to live in a 4x4 apartment. We were nervous about having a random roommate but the office did such a great job pairing us. The random roommate they paired us with is now one of my very best friends!!! Also, the maintenance team is the best!!!!
University Suites was a nice place to live. The apartments were pretty spacious. Maintenance was friendly and helpful. However, there were lots of cockroaches inside, the parking lot was noisy and the appliances were outdated. Walls were very thin and you could hear people talking three streets away. Fine if youre in college.
If you enjoy living in a nice, quiet environment, U Suites is the place for you. You never have to worry about things around the neighborhood getting out of hand and you can always count on the fact that you will be able to come home and relax after a hard day. On top of that, the staff here are some of the nicest people youll ever meet. They have done a great job of making us feel right at home.
U suites has been a chill and fun place to live at for the past 2 years. The staff are awesome and the environment is great. My favorite part about living here was having your own patio to study and hang out on. Definitely consider them when looking for housing near NC State.
This place is awesome.... Emily was always on top of everything and kept us well informed.... she goes above and beyond to accommodate our needs .... Highly recommend this place to anyone ...
University Suites is a great place to live! The staff is responsive, flexible, and nice. I have had no issues with anything and the grounds are managed well.
I had a fantastic experience living here.Even before moving in they were super accommodating and tried their best to work with our requests (we had requested a unit on the same street as our friends and they even let us be next door neighbors).Maintenance issues were always fixed in a timely manner and we were notified if it was expected to be longer. The front desk workers were always extremely polite and made me feel very welcome whenever I stopped by. The shuttle service that goes to campus was always kept very clean and was very rarely off schedule.Moving out was super easy, they made sure you knew exactly what could be charged so that you didnt have any surprises when you got the final statement.Overall one of the most affordable student housing options that actively works to keep residents happy.
I’ve really enjoyed living here. The staff is super friendly and helpful! Maintenance came to fix my A/C today, and also fixed the lock on our front door so it closes easier which we didn’t even ask them to do. It’s above and beyond service.
I loved living at university suites . Ms.Linda the property management at the time was amazing super nice . Spacious rooms very clean I didn’t have to many issues with bugs. Normal to see one here and there but that’s about all . Roommates was super friendly.
Lived at University Suites for 2 years. Loved the setup of the units, loved the setup of the complex itself, and always had very positive interactions with the staff. Staff was always eager to help and maintenance requests were always completed very quickly. Would recommend this place to any student in Raleigh.
My favorite thing about University Suites is that it feels like home - the comfortable design of the apartments, the friendly staff that knows you by name and quickly responds to your needs, and all the amenities. I was very skeptical when choosing an apartment, and U Suites made the top of my list. After moving in, I immediately knew I made the right choice. Every time I see the U Suites shuttle driving through campus, I get a sense of pride for the great community I live in. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to live, and I was not paid or asked to write this post - I truly love it here
Other reviews have mentioned it but just like others, University Suites charged me for cleaning fees when everything was left cleaner than before I moved in. The billing statement was completely messed up and they double charged me for multiple “failures to clean”. They really tried their best to get more money out of me and my roommates than was fair. The internet was horrible when we lived there and bugs were also an issue. The staff is nice, but you better check behind them to make sure you’re not getting screwed. Overall, not a great experience. Very frustrating and I will not recommend the complex to other students.
First of all, out of all the places to live around the NC State area (I checked them all) University Suites offers the best price/quality. Ive lived here for about 6 months already and so far I havent had any complaints. The staff is kind, friendly, and very efficient when it comes to providing their services. The facilities like the pool and the clubhouse are awesome, theyre always clean and ready to be used (ping pong table, pool table, etc), also the gym is pretty decent considering the price/quality mentioned before. Neighbors are chill and friendly and parking is not an issue since theres a lot of parking spots.
Loved U-Suites. Lovely staff and clubhouse facility. Rooms are large, closets are substantial, built in shelves are convenient, and you have your own nice bathroom. Cons: Kitchen is TINY and the living room is upstairs which is a little odd. I have loved living here and highly recommend it. (Plus pets are allowed)
The staff is the BEST! My dog and I are very happy! The house is a bit odd design at first but I fell in love quickly. The kitchen is nice when you are cooking for two but a bit small for four at a time.
Rooms are spacious. The main reason though for my review is I had locked my keys in my car on a Saturday as the office was closing and they still managed to call a towing company for me and had the money taken care of. All within 30 minutes. Highly recommend
Staff is very helpful. Even after I moved out they forwarded my mail to me and were very accommodating. Maintenance staff is great and always responds to requests quickly.
I lived here for 2 years and had a great experience. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms and closets are nice, parking is good. The pool is super nice. I always had good experiences with the office and maintenance staff. I would recommend living here!
Ive lived here for two years and have loved it. The staff are always friendly and make you feel at home. The amenities like the tanning beds and pool are great. The apartments themselves could use some work, they were built in a hurry with average materials.
This is the absolute worst place to live. The reasons that I feel this way is from personal experience dealing with University Suites. They do not take your concerns into consideration. When they match you up with someone to live with... they are not really matching you up at all. When they matching you, they are really just sticking someone in your apartment, even if you feel uncomfortable or have concerns. The management is terrible and very unprofessional. Dont settle for the price. Settle for where you are most comfortable and happy with the management.
Lived here for about 8 months. Staff are pretty friendly and professional. Could have a better system for handling roommate disputes but overall would have considered staying another year if they only had two bedroom options
Best place Ive ever lived-- great, flexible, and attentive management that takes resident concerns and suggestions seriously, from parking to unit transfers to improving the internet speeds. I truly have zero complaints about anything here, and signed a lease for a second year. Unless something changes and the management rests on their laurels, I would highly recommend! Beats on-campus housing by a mile.
Ive lived here for a year and a half and have had a great experience. The apartments are nice (for student living) and would highly recommend the space primarily for the fact that is has two levels, allowing much more individual space, and because all rooms have their own bathroom and closet. The staff is really friendly--they all knew me by name also instantly and always have a smile on their face and something nice to say. They are engaging with the students--they hold events and have food for us pretty regularly, and they communicate with residents via email weekly. The gym is relatively small and not a ton of equipment, but theres never anyone in it so its like having my own gym...Its a pretty quiet neighborhood, though definitely not all the time. It depends who your neighbors are I guess, but I had a friend living at College Inn and I swear you heard everything around you. I rarely, if ever, hear my neighbors through the walls. Sometimes nighttime on the weekends can get a little noisy, but thats college living. Parking is also completely open which is awesome for guests. Would recommend and am sad to be leaving!
My experience at university suites was very unpleasant. Do not live here! The rooms that they move you into are not properly cleaned what so ever. I didnt know I would have to pay for the apartment to be cleaned when I move in and then have to go clean it myself. The carpet is disgusting and feels sticky to your feet in the bedrooms. Carpet is also matted to the floor in the living room and stair area. Also carpet in bedroom was ripping and tearing when I moved in.Management tried to make it seem that they really cared about your concerns but in reality they only cared about what they thought would make the most money. During my stay at university suites I had many problems starting with the randoms that would walk through the apartment complex and also many people who did not live at the complex using the club house at night. Roommate matching they say is something that is the base of who lives with who in this apartment complex. That is not true what so ever as I have experienced it first hand. I brought many concerns to the managements attention on why I did not feel safe or comfortable with the roommate that they tried to move into my apartment the last month that I was there. They just dismissed my concerns and said they were not concerns at all. They will tell you in an email if you have concerns tell them and they will take care of them. Then if you go into the office and have a meeting with them they will tell you the complete opposite of what was in their email. Reason being is theyre trying to cover their butts in email incase you take them to court, which is what I had to threaten to do before they even took my concerns into consideration. Bottom line is do not live here. It cost so much to live at a place that has no concern for their residents only their residents money. The only reason I even gave this company one star is because thats the only way I could write a review.
Really good experience here at University Suites at Centennial! All the staff is extremely helpful and friendly and easy to work with. The grounds are tended to really well and there are always cool events going on.
University Suites is a great place to live. I recently signed for my third year to live here. Its great to have your own bathroom, the rooms are a good size and the patio is definitely a perk. The amenities are a great perk and theres something for everyone. The only down side is there are often water overages although they are never more than $10. And the pool gets very crowded during the summer. Overall, its a great location with friendly staff. Breakfast club Wednesdays and free shirts are a huge bonus!
Nice staff. They have helped me with several things and I am always satisfied with the result
Took advantage of move in special advertised on website. The move in special? Dirty carpets and walls and a fee to clean carpet and paint at move in. Lease renewal in 2 months? And today...18 year old daughter came home to unlocked house and room unlocked and left unlocked by maintanance? I wonder if they would replace any items that would be stolen. Read the other 1 star reviews for a more complete picture. I wish I had. Anyway, I am glad that we only have to deal with this unprofessional place for only one year.
Overall its pretty okay. Good size rooms/closets and lots of storage. Maintenance responds quickly and there are a lot of community events. The kitchen appliances are a little outdated though and theres not a lot of storage (cabinet wise) in the kitchen. I also wish the air circulated a little better, but I guess thats what you get with multiple stories since heat rises.
Okay, so overall I didn’t mind living here. For what I was paying at the time, it was pretty okay. However I did have some issues. First of all there’s a bug problem that isn’t too terribly bad, but their pest control does not help it at all. Lots of roaches and water bugs and the occasional huge spider. Secondly the internet is T E R R I B L E!!!!!! Which obviously is not ideal for a student community. And the office did not do one thing to help with that issue, any time I tried to complain they would hand me a packet and tell me to call korcet who never knew how to fix our internet. Also, my roommate broke lease policy by letting a whole person AND their animal stay in our house for 3 months for free, and that situation really compromised my living, but as far as I know, horizon didn’t do anything about it. The pool is ALWAYS closed, and random people go there often and cause huge scenes and leave huge messes. There were multiple nights that I really didn’t feel safe because of the crowd that was out there, and again it didn’t seem like the office did too much to stop these people from coming. The only thing they did was start to enforce wristbands that you had to pay $40 for if lost or stolen. Lastly, the air doesn’t work very well upstairs, it was usually 10 degrees hotter up there than downstairs. Besides all of this, I enjoyed my time here. My neighbors were always great, and the office staff was friendly and welcoming. They also do random days where they’ll get the community food or treats, they hand our little gift baskets to a couple different houses every month, they throw parties for residents, and stuff like that so that was cool. Also, it’s very clean and put together, and the office does help as much as they can when you have a problem. The office workers also try hard to get to know their residents very well. I lived here for 2 years, and for a majority of my time there, even with rotating staff members, they knew who I was. So overall, is this the best place in the world to live? There’s definitely better options, but I felt at home for the 2 years I was there.
Amazing staff! So kind and helpful and quick to respond to emails, calls and messages in general! I loved it here!
Coolest people ever! I loved living here. If youre in Raleigh and looking for a place to live, I definitely recommend this place!
The rooms are OK but be extremely careful when you leave. Make sure your room is spotless even though it is not when you move in. This company will find any excuse to charge you for exorbitant amounts of money. It has to be in a better condition when you leave than when you move in. We were charged $75 for a slight mark on a wall which should be expected after 2 years wear and tear. It would have taken 5 minutes to clean if they had notified us beforehand but they didnt.
Very nice place to live, rooms are a decent size and its will worth what you pay for. Staff is extremely nice and helpful.
Living here is the Suite life lol. The people in the clubhouse are so nice and so willing to help with whatever you need! The apartments themselves are super nice and I have renewed my lease to live here again next year. Ive had so many fun memories here, and the location is great. It is about 5 minutes from NCSU, but the drive becomes easy (if you dont take the shuttle). Plus, its only about 6 minutes away from Target, which is great for busy college students.
The apartment is cheaply made for the ridiculous price they charge for 4 people to live. Appliances are always breaking or working poorly. Parking is a nightmare, especially for visitors. Maintenance wasnt friendly or helpful at all really. My front door kept popping open and I asked them to come look at it because obviously its a safety issue and they said, nothings wrong with it after glancing at it for 5 minutes. The door continued to pop open until I moved out. I also asked one of them for help changing my flat tire in the parking lot (even though it wasnt part of their job it was about to get dark and a young female is trying to change a tire, you would think they would help or at least be friendly) and they refused. Moreover, when moving out they charge you for the most ridiculous things (like lightbulbs). I cleaned the apartment before leaving and they charged $80 for dirty kitchen. It doesnt cost $80 to clean a kitchen (an already clean one at that). Finally, they claim that the area is safe and there is a security guard on duty, but my car got broken into when it was parked right beside the clubhouse. The only good thing about the place was the bus drivers and thats if you saw them because the bus was always broken down.
My girlfriend was sexually assaulted in these apartments! The ignorant staff did nothing. DO NOT MOVE HERE! There is also a guy named Mike Baylor who has been stalking her for a year now. We believe he is the person that is going around peeping in peoples windows. There are maintenance men in and out of girls apartments constantly and it is NOT SAFE! Beware of these people and DO NOT give Mike Baylor your info.Mr LUND, YOUARE LYING!!!! THERE WAS NO CALL MADE INQUIRING ON ANYTHING. YOU ARE A PAID TROLL!!!! SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND QUIT MAKING FAKE POSTS OF PEOPLE GLORIFYING THIS COMPLEX. IT IS MISLEADING AND SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!!!!
Highly recommend this place and I am a parent of a resident and very fussy with my standards. We searched everywhere in the area for a home away from home and this is the place! The grounds are immaculate as is the interior homes and rest of the property. The room is beautiful and spacious. It is a very peaceful community with high standards. The staff is beyond exceptional. We met with Kaneesha and Linda and they went above and beyond to help us! Not only are they great at what they do, but very compassionate ladies. We had originally set up at another neighborhood and when we arrived the place was disgusting, inside and out. We happened to drive by The University Suites, after our bad experience at the other place, and luckily decided to stop in. This place is the real deal, not like the other places on the internet, that when you get there to find out they have used false advertising with the internet pictures. The manager and staff here do a great job at keeping this place up to high standards!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed living at USuites this year. The staff are so friendly and really try to provide an environment that feels like home for the residents. Monthly, there are celebrations, giveaways, or free food from the staff that make living here filled with sweet surprises. The townhome style allows me to feel like I’m coming home everyday rather than coming to a typical student apartment. 10/10 would reccomend!
My sons lease ended, he cleaned up, took pictures and checked out. They charged him for not cleaning. I saw the pictures, he cleaned. So dont bother cleaning because they will charge you for it anyways. Just typical shady landlord practices.
I absolutely love University Suites. The community and facilities are wonderful. My only frustration is that water overages are so easily incurred.
I have lived at University Suites for about 6 months nowPros:The apartment is one of the most spacious places I have seen for student living, including walk-in closets, huge rooms, and lots of storage. I use the gym and printing center all of the time. When its warm, the pool is beautiful and there are always people playing basketball, volleyball, and cooking out. The price is fair compared to other student living. I love the people working at the front desk- they have been very accommodating and friendly.Cons:We have had a couple of things break in the kitchen, so the appliances are pretty cheaply made, but I expect that from student apartments and they are still much better quality than many other places I have seen. Also, when these things were broken, maintenance was pretty quick and nice, so it wasnt a big deal. The only other negative of USuites is the fact that the rooms werent very clean upon move in.Overall, my roommates and I love it here and we all have already renewed our leases for next year!
Love living here prices are fair great environment staff is caring and great people.
The owners of this complex placed a charge on my credit report for a property that my child in college never lived in. I never even heard of them until I saw it on my report. Claimed I co-signed and am responsible for a lease that I signed through an email because she never moved in. I am going to sue them.
Great place for the price. Spacious rooms and closets, nice pool, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
They have great staff and customer service! Very nice place to live.
The staff has always been helpful and polite throughout my stay here, except for the new property manager who is quite rude.
BEWARE, Horizon is posting fake reviews. Nobody in their right mind would give this place 5 stars. Please click on the recent 5 star reviews and you will see those people have also reviewed other Horizon-owned locations in the last week. It is a piss-poor marketing scheme, and needed to be announced publicly. (No surprise, they have now deleted many of the recent fake reviews) I did not live there, but am posting on behalf of a friend, who doesnt want to be harassed by management any longer. They will reply, try to discredit me, and ask me to contact them to make it better, but its all a facade. Supposedly student housing, they will accept people not in school, as well as drug dealers. They have night time security, but cars are consistently broken into, random people fly through the complex, and the private pool becomes a public pool on Sunday, when management isnt there. Now we finally can get to the actual apartment. The kitchen is miniscule for 4 people, the oven barely cooks food, the range isnt level, so you have to hold the pot on the eye. The dishwasher wont remove ketchup from a plate. The floors are paper thin, sounds like a parade happening upstairs, the walls are similar. If anyone in the entire row plays music, you can feel the bass. The no towing policy is awful, as its not unusual for you to have to park on a different street, and when UWoods has their end of the year party, there is NO parking available in the entire complex.TLDR: there are much nicer places to live for 600+ dollars a month, but be wary, Horizon also owns many of the nearby complexes. There is no amount of apologizing from management that can reconcile an awful year here.
Slow work orders, obnoxious neighbors, big rooms, nice patios
They nickel and dime you for everything. So the price their giving you isn’t the real value. At move out they charge the standard $60 move out fee, but they expect the walls to be without a Knick, everything to be vacuumed and spotless and they’re super paticular about move out time and date with no wiggle room even though it’s during NC state final exams. Additionally, for a non furnished apartment, it’s a little pricey with a tiny kitchen and the fact that they don’t have a matress buyout program is ridiculous considering that they give u a bed frame and they don’t want u to make any marks on the walls but u have to move ur own matress and furniture in and out. Overall they have unrealistic expectations for residents and they overvalue their property.
Lived here for two years. The first year was great and the management was very friendly and helpful. After being taken over by the new management the second year things went downhill very quickly and I immediately regretted living there again. Management was rude and unknowledgeable and overage fees were high. I will not refer anyone to Usuites in the future. They even charged residents unrealistic charges after move-out. So glad I got out of there.
This sleazy Apartment Complex will rip you off in more ways than one. They have employees that walk into your apartment without notice, the apartment manager will use your ssn or any information for their personal use. They are rude and ignorant and sometimes charge double for your rent on your debit card and then deny it. They have roaches. Drug dealers sell outside after dark and one of my friends was robbed at gunpoint. The office manager is a racist drug addict that steals out of peoples apartments. DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS CRAZY PLACE!!!!
I would strongly recommend renting elsewhere.University Suites unscrupulous move-out policy compromised my otherwise positive perception of the complex.Despite having my bike stolen off the front patio within a month of move-in, my roommate’s’ cars broken into, and the constant noise from the trash compactor, I felt the apartment was comfortable and rent fairly reasonable.Upon move-out, Horizon (the property management company for University Suites) charged me and my roommates exorbitant fees for headboard stains left on the walls ($225 to 3 roommates), a dirty bathroom ($65), and unclean oven ($25). (Images attached) They would not provide evidence that these charges matched their contractor’s labor costs.Yes, we were notified of costs for damages in a move-out letter, however, were under the assumption that because we left the apartment in “clean and sanitary conditions” (according to lease terms) we would not face any additional charges. My roommates spent over 4 hours cleaning after all tenants had removed their belongings.Neither I nor my roommates would rent again from University Suites after this experience. I plan to avoid any Horizon-owned property.
I wish I would have been told that my water had been leaking for the first 6 months. I set up a recurring payment method and by December I owed $90 in water overages.
