Rental rates are waaaay too high for the age and quality of the community. They are charging over $1000/month for 1 bedrooms in a community that is over 35 yrs old & there is no fitness facility! Parking is terrible! Dog waste is a huge problem! The location is decent but rental rates are crazy high for a property this OLD...especially with popcorn ceilings, nonfunctional bathroom exhaust fans, horrible water pressure, no ceiling fans or overhead lighting in the bedrooms or living rooms, and even though they replaced all the windows and patio/balcony doors, they still have major air leaks! So much so, that I actually installed curtains between my living room and sunroom just to try to keep my electric and gas bill at a reasonable rate. I do love the size of my 1 bedroom w/ sunroom but its NOT worth the price. Sorry!
As someone who has moved many times and multiple apartments, Laurel Oaks has far exceeded my expectations. Maggie and her staff have been so easy to work with and very friendly! Some of the units are older but very well taken care of. I had minimal maintenance issues and the ones I had were fixed very quickly. If I wasnt getting married and moving, I would have renewed without hesitation. I know this isnt going to be true for everyone, but I also had the best neighbors in my building! I cant recommend Laurel Oaks enough!
This place has far exceed my expectations on every possible regard.I came from Rocky Mount, looking for an affordable place to live that would be safe for my three children, and I could not have chosen a better place to call home. Maggie, and all the other representatives of the complex have been nothing short of wonderful. There at every need, communicating everything effectively. Our apartment is beautiful. The area is quiet. The amenities are wonderful. The price is extremely competitive. I can not stress this enough, and everyone who knows me knows how serious I am when I say: If you are looking for the perfect apartment in Raleigh, there is no greater choice than Laurel Oaks.
This is an amazingly comfortable and quiet apartment complex. From the moment I met with Maggie nearly 3 years ago, I knew this was where I wanted to live. Its safe and the maintenance staff is awesome. Any issue Ive had has been expeditiously handled (which have been few). It really is a great place to live.
As a recent transplant to Raleigh from Ohio, it’s overwhelming to search for apartments in and near Raleigh. There are so many different complexes, and Laurel Oaks’ reviews stood out to me as I was searching for an apartment from three states away. I felt that the 5 star google reviews portrayed an accurate account of Laurel Oaks, and I’m happy to add another positive review to those ranks. This complex is located on a beautiful campus, with ample trees and green space surrounding the apartments. The complex feels tucked away from the surrounding busy roads, and I’m thankful for how quiet Laurel Oaks is. Pet friendly, fantastic responsiveness from Maintenance when issues have arisen, and a friendly and helpful office staff round out the positives that I have experienced in my months at Laurel Oaks. All in all, when I was searching for an apartment, I wanted a safe neighborhood, good value, and responsive staff. The team at Laurel Oaks has hit each of these points out of the park, and I’m happy to come home here every day. Definitely explore your options with Laurel Oaks, I’m thankful that I did, and I’m sure you will be too.
I over love MAGGIE she knew my situation and understood it!! She made me and my daughter feel like this is the place I should call home!! She helped me a lot along the way and I APPRECIATE her!! Shes the BEST !! The place is very spacious and clean !
Today I had the opportunity to meet Jessica in the front office. She was very busy, but took the time to make me feel welcome and that she would help me shortly. In my time waiting, I had the chance to speak to a number of residents and ask them about the apartments. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I had the sense of a true community here. I spoke with one of their maintenance crew and he was amazing to chat with. I think this is where we will end up living soon! Thank you so much for your warm, professional welcome Jessica!
I have been living at Laurel Oaks Apartments for 3 years now. Prior to Laural Oaks, I had previously gone to a different complex and was going to be renting a unit from them. Come to my surprise, the unit was in terrible shape and in desparate need of face lift. In a panic, I called every apartment complex that was in Raleigh. Thankfully I came across Laurel Oaks. They had what I needed and were able to show me that same day. I was super impressed. The application was super easy and luckily I was able to move in that next day. I am so thankful that I found Laurel Oaks. I have lived in a lot of different apartments in different cities and this is the BEST by far.
Recently rented apartment for our daughter. After visiting several apartments we ended up at Laurel Oaks, and we are happy we did. Maggie was amazing. She was very helpful in getting the application in and approved. Thank you Maggie for everything.
Ive stayed at this complex for a year, and I just renewed my lease for another year. I have had absolutely no problems during my time staying here. The staff is extremely responsive to any problems that may arise during your stay there. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The prices are great for how close you live to downtown. Im 5 minutes away from the grocery store/lakes/pool.
Great place live. Secured and maintenance team are great. Maintenance are done less than 24 hours after reporting. Complex is treated for bugs regularity. I love the community.
Great place to live! Affordable, friendly staff, and a great area. I have lived at Laurel Oaks for 1.5 years and any issues have been attended to promptly. Highly recommended.
My boyfriend and I went to look at these apartments over the weekend and Jessica was amazing! She made us feel at home before we even saw the apartment. She was wonderful and such a delight! We decided on a different place (only due to work commute) and even after letting her know she was still amazing. We will definitely have to remember them!
I met this nice lady passing out her business card and I googled the property name and address so that I could go and look at the apartments she was talking about she was dressed really nice and she said that she had good prices for a two bedroom and that they were HUGE! I came and I liked the apartment it was really big and different from all of the other apartments that I had seen. I like that it has so much space and it was around my budget. If you are looking for a great apartment that’s affordable and has great space and location come see her.
Shoutout to Jessica! I came in today to look at an apartment after my sister came to see it. Jessica was awesome. The most down to earth leasing agent I have ever met. The apartments are older and there is no gym but for the sq footage the price is awesome. It is also not too far from 540 and just a bit more of a drive to 440 and 40.So thanks Jessica for your hospitality and for the fun chat we had about zodiac signs!
The office personnel is A++ They are so friendly and extremely attentive to your requests. Quiet neighborhood, clean living area and the pool area is a huge plus!!! I’m enjoying it!
I am very pleased with these apartments! Very nice, beautiful, spacious place! Plus the location is great! Jessica, Maggie and the maintenance team was very helpful with everything!
Visited with Jessica at the leasing office and had the best experience on tour! She really sold the place to me & made me feel right at home already! Lovely apartments at good rates too. Thank you Jessica!!
Great experience with their offices staff, always friendly with smileMaintenance service always on time and always work doneGreat family neighborhoodAlways cleanBeutiful landscape
The staff is what sets this place apart. I lived here for ten months (recently moved out) and never had any issues. The leasing agents are super communicative on expectations throughout the application process, the weeks leading up to move in, and are super helpful on move in day if there is anything needed. We felt at home as soon as we spoke to Maggie, and she was our go-to the entire ten months we spent there. I never felt like I was bothering her when I asked a question and I always knew she would either have the information or be able to get it for me. Sure, the unit was a bit on the small side in retrospect but Maggie really sold it to us and made us feel like there was a lot of potential which was inspiring and I think really what helped us make the decision to move in ultimately. Maintenance was always rapid in their response rate to issues and left detailed notes about when they had been in the apartment and what exactly theyd done. I could always count on them to have whatever I needed fixed within 24 hours. Also, given how close this place is to everything, its a no brainer if youre looking for a short and affordable lease in a quiet neighborhood you can feel safe in at all hours.
Safe and well maintained apartments. Staff is amazing.
My stay so far in Laurel Oaks has been exceptional! The service I received from Sarah from start to finish in finding a new home has been great. Shes incredibly helpful in showing me all the benefits of living in Laurel Oaks, as well as using great communication ensuring that the apartment was in its best condition prior to my move in. Its not luxury, but you will feel safe and comfortable here. I like the neighborhood as its not the typical huge building with 20+ apts. The apartments give a more private feeling being in a wooded area. The last bit of information Id like to pass is that the team here has made it very clear that they are here to provide an exceptional experience. The morning after the latest overnight snow, they maintenance crew were out cleaning up sidewalks/walkways... Much appreciated. Thank you!
Ann was very nice! I really enjoyed my tour with her. The model looked fantastic, but they had a lot things that arent necessarily included in the model. The grounds were a little ugly. Part of their walls were held in place by large sticks of rebar. Could be a bad accident waiting to happen. Good deals on their 2 bedrooms. Had to go elsewhere due to better location.
Quiet neighborhood GREAT staff very helpful filling up the application Jessica Harris will guide you through the hole process
Very quiet neighborhood and staff is friendly. Safe and perfect location! I love living here.
Jessica gave me a tour and was sweet and funny. She made my visit here welcoming.
I lived here a year and I thought I wanted to stay here another year. Until I needed the apartment to come and fix my front door. They sent a new guy they just hired to fix my door and he stole my credit cards out my wallet and my tv unit. When I reported it to the apartment they to me that I would get a rent credit then went back on it, and told me they dont have any proof he stole the items. But heres the thing he was the only person in the unit at the time. I was in the office talking to management when they sent him in to my unit. So how is there no proof, it was there before I went to the office. I have never lived an where were the maintenance staff steal from you.
I came in on Saturday afternoon about 4:05 pm to tour an apartment. The grounds were a little run down and the buildings could definitely use a powerwash but I decided for the price it was still worth a shot. I walked into the office and the leasing consult behind the desk is eating a big bag of hot Cheetos with a resident in front of her. Seeing me she licks her fingers and continues to eat her chips, but does ask what I need. Upon telling her I was coming in for a tour she said ahe was doing her last one for the day because they close at 5p and I vould come back Tuesday. Didnt offer to go over any pricing and didnt ask if she could provide me with any other information. But, she did continue to eat her Cheetos. Im very disappointed in this unprofessional representation of Laurel Oaks.
Going into my second year of being here and unfortunately I’m ready for my lease to end. For one, after visiting a neighbors apartment, I realized that my apartment was in real need of renovations and upgraded appliances, especially for the price that I am paying. There is a terrible bug problem. Even though I am supposition paying for Terminex every month, since living here I have purchased my own spray which helps more than the Terminex I paying for monthly. I have had a problem with my heating and AC unit, and had to call maintenance numerous times before Wayne, the maintenance man (who is wonderful) recognized my apartment and realized I needed a new water heater and HVAC system. Old door knobs have kept me from entering my bedroom and as I type right now my closet door is stuck and will not open. I have called weekend emergency maintenance an hour ago and still no one has called to connect with me about it. That has happened before when I called on the weekend when my heat was out. Also, you can tell renovations are needed in my apartment. It seems now that issues were covered up by paint. A new issue that has arisen is now I will be charged a monthly pet fee which I do not think is right. I have been a resident for over s year with no pet fee and now after signing my 2nd year lease, I will required to have a pet addendum. I do like the area, but I know I will get more for my bucks at another complex with a gym, computer lab, bigger apartment, upgraded appliances without the bugs! I do have to acknowledge Wayne and Margarito, the maintenance men. They are great and the weekend/emergency maintenance workers could learn a lot from them. They are swift and very courteous. I will miss them once my lease is over.Update: I called weekend/emergency maintenance again because I still hadn’t heard anything regarding my request for my closet door. Still no one has called or came by my apartment. I had to miss work this evening because I did not have access to my work clothes!! Beyond disappointed and upset as a paying resident
Just a terrible complex. Hopefully they’ve won the roach situation.
