Perfect location and great view if you live on the upper floors. Sadly, the roof top Terrasse doesn’t exist as advertised, and the pool is very dirty. Two features we were excited about and the reason we were willing to pay the expensive rent. We live right above the pool and can see how little it’s been taken care of. There are issues throughout the building like mold or leaks on the upper floor, and the majority of the hallways are dirty and smelly. Shoutout to the concierges and maintenance team, they’re actually pretty nice and really try their best.Northern liberties is a great neighborhood and I wish 1 Brown would actually make the building as “luxurious” as they claim.

Renters beware - this place is not luxury. The management company has had new managers for this property every couple of months and nothing gets done. The pool area is only cleaned a couple of times a week and the water is freezing because they keep the heater off (even though it’s advertised). Loud building with inconsiderate tenants who’s pets use the bathroom all over the property. For the same price you can live anywhere. Can’t wait to move!!

Great apartments to live in Norther Liberties. Has a amazing walkability score to nearby breweries, riverfront, grocery stores. Our apartment had great views of the river and the Ben Franklin bridge. The management staff went though some changes and I hope things must have got better. Will highly recommend this if you want to live close to all the action! again great walkability score.

Today I had to drive my friend to counseling because of this place. Management during the pandemic has just played with her emotions. They seem inconsistent and flat out dangerous. I wish management would just communicate with the tenants, and ask for everyone’s opinion when making decisions that will impact their daily lives. I would avoid moving here at all costs. I am getting my friend out to a better place soon! In the meantime, pray for us.

This place is trash. I mean hot garbage. Trying to sell itself as The Ritz Carlton but in actuality it’s nothing more than a Days Inn. For the cost of an apartment here you can find something much nicer, look elsewhere. No consistency from the management, broken promises. Can’t wait to move.

I’ve visited this place in the past and it’s sadly a dump. Pool area had trash in it and was not heated (even though it’s advertised!). Management is in complete disarray. The building is not maintained as you would expect from a luxury apartments (wires hanging from ceilings in common areas). I am glad my friend is moving out of this place cause it’s not luxurious at all. Buyer/renter beware!

Just skip this one. Roof was destroyed by a storm. 8th floor was full of mold when we were on our way out due to the amount of water leaking in through the damaged roof. Slowly stripped every amenity they could over the years. Good luck getting your security deposit back, theyll just take it and never respond to you about it again. One star because the views arent bad.

So I moved in after we had to leave our old apartment pretty quickly. This was not our first choice of place but we ended up here after our other option fell through. Life happens sometimes. So we came here, filled out a huge lease and got the keys to our one bedroom apt.The apartments are gorgeous, quiet and pretty nicely laid out. Employees are super nice and the security guys are awesome. Makes me feel secure when I get off of shift late.My huge issue with the place is the people. Most of the people who live here have no consideration for anyone but themselves. The let their dogs pee on the porch and leave it there to stink up the whole front of the building. Leave garbage in the lobby like its their own home with mommy to come clean up after them and take the Apple cores and coffee they drink and leave it outside on the side of the building. This is what kills this place the pompous, arrogant, self centered gross people who live here. These places are definitely very nice but unless you like living around people who are fake wealthy because the front door says penthouse then steer clear. The building is great, the ammentities are top notch but people seem to ruin everything.

I have visited this property before, many times, and have seen many aspects of it through friends. For a luxury apartment, there is garbage everywhere imaginable I.e. in the pool area (the pool was dirty itself), there was water damage all over the walls, wires hanging from the ceiling, etc. Many of the tenants that live here are loud, including physical violence. The management company frequently issues commands to the tenants, and do not respond to frequent requested updates about amenities that have been closed for over a year. Management is overall unhelpful and terrible. My friends are unsatisfied with the high cost, and subpar management and care of the property. Do not move here!

A terrible experience. Upon move in, the apartment was littered with dog hair, holes in the wall, and exposed wiring. Requested repairs went ignored. Contrary to advertising, there is no usable rooftop deck as it has been under construction for at least 10 months. Cars on the paid lot are constantly broken into. Ive even had building employees try to access my apartment without permission or notice. Now, they want to increase the rent by over $200 per month. So pay more for less if their motto.

Regretted moving in since day 1. I had a similar experience as others, hallway smelled like pot constantly, neighbors inconsiderate and loud. A lot of people rent out apartment as Air BnBs. The sound system seems like an awesome feature but just remember your neighbors will be blasting it and property management will not do anything for you. They also force you to use their electric company which is very overpriced. My bill for electric and gas now, in a 2 bedroom house, is half of what it was for electric in a 1 bedroom apt.My one neighbor would beat his girlfriend and I could hear her screaming in fear. One time she ran out of the apartment and down the halls. He grabbed her, slammed the door and I could hear him beating her in their apartment. I called the police and property management. The noise disturbances were a constant event. The property management group did nothing. I tried to cancel my lease after a month and they would not let me. I left and forfeit my deposit. They tried to pursue me via collections. After the collections agency read the chain of emails back and forth, saw the police report, and all of the accounts regarding the noise and wife beating they decided not to pursue any collections. They apologized to me for the horrible experience. It was so bad that their own collections agency apologized to me.

My wife and I moved here two years ago and we both agree it was one of the best decisions we could have made. There is honestly nothing in the area that even comes close to what Penn Treaty has to offer and that comes from someone who spends almost every weekend checking out new real estate. Our two bedroom apartment is beyond spacious, larger than any we had looked at. We have nine closets. What kind of apartment has nine closets? One pantry closet I turned into an office. All the fixtures in the apartment are first class. The bathrooms are spectacular. Its practically impossible to get my wife out of the spa tub with 6 jets and TV set. The indoor parking garage is a great bonus as well. Did I forget the out door pool and grilling area? On top of all of this, there is an amazing staff that works here. They really feel like family. From management, to security to the front desk to maintenance any problems are immediately addressed by a friendly and professional staff. Yes, I know that I might sound like Im piling it on but we both love Penn Treaty.

I thought of giving Penn Treaty Pennthouses ZERO STAR and Google reviews does not have that option. You can go and move to this place if you want to risk your life and property. Hallways always smells like marijuana. I parked my car out front, and my car was vandalized. I have pictures where I parked and you can see the front desk. I asked for the footage and front desk ask that I speak to management and they do NOT respond. They said the surveillance camera does not cover the whole parking spaces. What the goodness #@*!!??. They have two security guards only on Fridays and Saturdays for the entire parking lot, and mostly you can see them greeting nearby the front door because they did not want to risk their lives.I have lost valuables and money inside the car. I filed the police complaint in the Philadelphia Police 26th District. Please spend your hard earned money elsewhere without risking your life. Try a different apartment, condo or penthouse in the Philadelphia area. Management does not take any responsibility for my losses. Please do not risk your life and belongings at Penn Treaty Pennthouses.

Too bad there is no option for Zero stars. Ask anybody that lives here their opinion of the building before you even consider renting. The sales team is unscrupulous and their lease agreement is draconian, and the overall maintenance quality is evidenced by the run down fountain in the lobby. I had to move apartments after dealing with a leaky roof for almost 4 months. Tour each of the building hallways and notice the awful smell that cant be covered up by the glade plugins they installed all over the place. The elevator takes anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes to go from 1 to 8 floors - and that is if you arent among the lucky ones that require fire rescue to get you out (true story, it happens)!.I know multiple tenants (myself included) that got stuck with a lease renewal because they didnt read the fine print of the lease. Since moving apartments within the same building, Ive been dealing with a barrage of noise complaints for watching television. #paperthinwalls? After reading some of the other reviews online, it is obvious that the positive ones were written or fed talking points by management. Speaking of management, get ready to have your or a visitors car towed at least once during your stay here - without so much as a warning.Welcome to Penn Treaty, where you can pay 5 star prices for 1 star quality and customer service.

We have lived here for a little over 4 years now. My wife and I have been huge fans since the day we moved in. The building itself, the units, the outdoor landscape, and parking lots are nice, well kept, and for the most part pretty modern (and they continue to do upgrades). We are particularly big fans of the layout of our unit...feels really spacious, has great storage space, and love the floor to ceiling windows. Some folks have left some negative reviews about them taking amenities away over the years and yes they have changed or been altered (like the moving of the grills), but what they are neglecting to mention is that it is at the fault of the residents who kept abusing and being frequently warned about not taking care of things...so you cant fault them for changing things like the grills. They are running a business and lines need to be drawn. I think they are very fair and communicative about all that. The amenities are really solid! Specially in a booming neighborhood like northern liberties. The units are great, there is parking included, There are 2 small dog parks/areas for dogs to go to bathroom, the pool is very nice, and the rooftop has been our favorite! In addition to the physical assets, we have been beyond pleased with the staff. The front desk and maintenance folks are very very nice, most take the time to know your name and who you are, they have folks walking around the property at night to keep an eye on things, and management has ALWAYS been incredibly responsive and helpful to anything from a simple maintenance request to negotiating lease renewals. Even with the (normal) turnover of folks over the years... I have always had a good relationship with front desk folks. My wife and I will be moving in about a month, but purely because we outgrew this place over the years and now have a baby and a dog. It was time to buy a house, but if we wouldve decided to keep renting... We wouldve definitely decided to stay. Even during this time though, they have been very understanding and flexible with us on move out dates due to delivery of our new home. I would say the only complaint is there are only 2 elevators and can be somewhat slow... but hey, no place is perfect and we could not have asked for a better 4+ years here!Thank you to Penn Treaty for everything!

As a resident for almost 3 years it’s time I review. Where do I begin? First I’ll respond to the negative reviews... (no, I’m not being paid to say what I’m about to say): I read about the bus depot and yes that is something we’ve become accustomed to. We are in the city not quiet countryside so outside noises are not PennTreaty Pennthouses’ fault. As far as the people who whine about management having favoritism to the residents who pay their rent, well “duh” people it is a business! These are luxury apartments not subsidized living. If you can’t afford your rent then it’s your own fault for living above your means. I’ve seen people move here and treat it like a rock band treats a hotel. This is a home to a lot of us and rhe staff are family. My fiancé and I love it here. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bath in the West Tower. There are 9 closets, 2 bathrooms that are fit for royalty. Five shower heads, large jacuzzi tub, tv and marble floors in master bathroom . Six shower heads in the walk in shower in the other bathroom. Wood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel kitchen appliances, plus a master keypad to control lights, sounds, window shades and temperature. We have garage parking. The staff is beyond exemplary. There is nothing like it. We’ve tried to find a condo that we could purchase like this.. none exist. If we could buy this apartment we would in a heartbeat. What I am telling you is just this; if you move here and pay your rent as you contracted to do then you’ll have the best living experience ever. Kathy, Rebecca, Rob, Terrence, Clifford, Sean and Euton are above excellence and I don’t want to think about living without them!*drops mic*

This place is a drug den for trash. They try to lure you in with a nice pool and bbq grills, that they took away, and a catered brunch on the weekend; however, the pool is always filled with unattended children and the food is dollar store quality. I was informed through people that the caterer, Christine Fischer, buys her garbage food from Walmart and either throws it together last minute or buys it pre-made and just takes it out the packages. To her credit, she at least heats up the garbage before serving it, so its at least hot garbage. Doesnt matter because the savage residents will shovel anything you put into their faces. Yes, they treat each resident differently based on how much money you have. This place should be closed. Management is absolute abusive scum. And dont get me started on creepy weirdos that watch the front desk. Some are nice, others should be avoided completely. Too bad I cant give a negative star score!

Let’s face it: if Mother Teresa had a Google page, chances are the “critics” of the Internet would barely give her an average 3-star rating. We can be irrationally savage when it comes to rating things. So after I read the reviews you probably just scrolled through for the Penn Treaty Pennthouses in the fall of 2015, I checked this place out and – spoiler alert – still moved here. :oIs this place great? Based on my experience over a year later and counting, I’d say pretty close to it. Is this place perfect? No. Is anywhere you move in a big city perfect? Umm…that’s a big fat “no” too.First and foremost, the shower is a revelatory experience. I lead a somewhat exciting life, and it still remains the highlight of my day. It’s the bathing equivalent of Dizengoff hummus: silky, smooth & good for your health. I feel like Meryl Streep in Silkwood every day - minus the nuclear-irradiation panic. Be forewarned, it’s not the kind you can take for 30min, so make sure you rinse your hair early on. As is common with apartments like this, you have your own water heater. It recharges quickly, but isn’t the kind that can support a slumber party for 8. There’s also a luxurious Jacuzzi tub in the other bathroom. It’s collecting dust. Shockingly, despite the availability of a dope Jacuzzi tub, yes, it’s the shower FTW. Wait…there’s more! The apartment itself is really top-notch. I have the “Franklin” layout, which is a 2 bedroom. The hardwood floors are really beautiful, and the hallway tile - which is also featured in the bathrooms - is equally so. It makes me feel fancy, even when I’m not. I like to cook. The kitchen is the shizznit. If you like to cook, then you’ll really appreciate the quality of the appliances and the granite countertops. Gas burners! Depending on your location in the building, you may also be able to add cooking, entertaining & chillaxing whist soaking in a really amazing view of the city via the floor-to-ceiling windows. If, like me, privacy is more your speed, the automatic shade provides near complete cover, especially in the morning at sunrise. Plus, all of my nieces light up with excitement pressing the button to make the shade go up & down. But I digress…I hate bugs. Unless you’re an entomologist, or that odd kid who played with bugs instead of using the jungle gym at recess, having them in your apartment is like if “Groundhog Day” met “300”, where déjà vu pits you, King Leonidas, against a hungry group of Persian ants each day. Not at the PTP. It’s an amazing feeling to leave food on the counter at night and not see tiny bugs crawling on it in the morning. Nowhere else I’ve lived has this distinction, and I’ve lived in some swanky places. Why is this place bug-free, among other awesome things? It’s due in no small part to the valiant efforts of the people who work here. I work from home, and see first-hand the things both the management & maintenance staff do on a daily basis to make life the best it can be here. I’ve never had an issue getting things fixed in my apartment & often times the maintenance staff keeps up on things like air filters & light bulbs, faster than my iCal does. (Also another apartment-living rarity.) Oh, and the lobby has a sweet coffee machine, from which you can be your own automated barista 24/7. If you move here, I’d be happy to make “The Ken” for you. It’s delicious! Fresh baked cookies are available every morning and soft pretzels too on weekends. It’s also worth noting that the area is getting nicer and nicer every day. New cool restaurants already exist within walking distance (Café La Maude, Honey’s, Fette Sau, WM Mulherin Sons), with more popping up every week. It’s convenient to 95 and 676, and a quick uber ride to pretty much anywhere in the city. Sugar House, The Fillmore, Revolutions & Penn’s Landing are all a short walk away. You can also watch the Penn’s Landing concerts/fireworks from the roof in the summer!4.9 out of 5, only because nothing is perfect. Hope to see you in the lobby! ☺
