I have lived at Sherwood Crossing since April. I had a situation when I first moved in. I went to my leasing agent - she was unable to fix the situation for me. After many frustrating weeks, I went to the Manager Horace. He immediately rolled up his sleeves and fixed my situation and put me in another apartment. I have found that Sherwood is quiet, and a clean place to live - atleast where I am it is. Maintenance workers do a good job. Management office is now a delight to deal with. My only negative thought is - its a little pricey. But other than that - I would recommend living there.
I have had a horrible experience living here! Management is rude and maintenance never fixes anything! Our dryer was broken for months and wasnt replaced until 5 months later after harassing management and maintenance for months. They lie and say they fix your issues and never do. We still have a broken sink and dishwasher. The walls have holes in them which leads to bug infestation. All they care about is money and none of the residents needs! Would not recommend.- Response: False. The doors, sinks and dishwashers are currently still broken and damaged, nobody came to fix it. There was only one instance where they couldn’t come in because we were sick back in March. Besides that, there has been no attempt to come here. Repairs are still needed til this day.
The only reason I am leaving any stars is because how nice Sophia is and always addressed my concerns.I have been lied to for weeks now about when my air conditioning will be fixed and last night was told it was fixed and ready to use only to find it was not. I have filled out a total of 5 maintenance requests as well as 2 emergency requests to get this issue fixed with no result. Besides that great place. But this is a huge turn off and hope this review reaches someone to fix this problem. Also when I stopped by the office yesterday, their air conditioner was running full blast and was very cold in the office but, which shows how much they care about their residents.
Do not live here!! Management is so shady and doesn’t care about residents. They turn off the central AC to apartments and only let residents use heat settings from September to summer. Was never informed of this upon move in. Had to find out through multiple unresolved work orders due to me thinking AC was broken. Dishwasher broke twice and flooded apartment. Took over a week for repairs to be done. Upstairs neighbor had a pipe break in their bathroom which caused my bathroom ceiling to cave in and make the only bathroom unusable. Again, submitted several emergency work orders as damage got progressively worse and was told no one came because they were confused as to why so many order requests were submitted. No one from office bothered to call and check in just to make sure it wasn’t multiple repeats. Didn’t live in apartment during damages and was told I would be get rent credit but upon inspection from upper management, was told the apartment was in livable conditions meaning no rent credit. I just moved out of the apartment a week ago and was just informed of $700 I owe in damages. When I called to figure out what exactly was damaged and what I was being charged for, I was told they couldn’t tell me since they no longer had me in the system. I paid $600 for a security deposit plus another $300 for my dog. That should’ve covered any damages as was stated when moving in. Whole thing doesn’t make sense and I’m still currently working on this issue. Moral of the story, do not ever live here unless you want to be screwed over.
Came yesterday for a showing! The apartment was beautiful and big! Leasing agent was super friendly, the neighbors I seen outside were also friendly. I love the updates they’ve done and I love the neighborhood as I grew up around here. Not too worried about parking as there is street parking. Hope I get approved to move in.Update: been settled in for about 5 months now. And I’m still satisfied. Leasing agents are always attentive..maintenance people are always polite. Pretty sound proof don’t rly hear my neighbors (maybe because I’m on the 3rd floor) only can hear if you’re in the hallway. Plenty of storage. Bugs here and there. Nothing bug spray and keeping a clean home can’t handle. Dog park is great. My puppy enjoys meeting other dogs and people. Always parking in front of my apartment. Gym and pool are nice.
Lived here for over a year, staff handles maintenance quickly and property is well maintained.
I have lived here for over 10 years and have not had any major problems. The people are friendly and the property is very well cared for.
My experience being here has been a nice one..I myself found the people to be very friendly even if its just a short conversation or a hello. I like the part that the hallways are vacummed and windows on main doors washed. I must say the maintenance men are really nice to me and help me with what I need . The manager listens to your concerns and helps in a timely mannor..so in a nutshell I like it here its roomy and I just give a lot of credit to these wonderful maintenance who seem to care and I look for that in apartments its imp to have a place that cares. Thank you.
My husband and I went and looked at theses apartments very nice very spacious apartment. Sophia was amazing she answered all our questions and made us feel welcomed really everybody in the leasing office was amazing they were so helpful nothing but a good experience so far.
First there are mice all over the place, the ACs don’t work my apartment was 89 degrees for a year before they fixed it and now someone had thrown up in the hallway and Maintenance will not wash the carpet. Don’t move here
Trust me this is not the place you want to live….managements is RUDE and disgusting. NOTHING gets fixed. Maintenance will lie and say that they came to your apartment and was turned away.
I hope you like it hot because they simply do not care about fixing the AC when its broken.
May 2021: Leaving review for experience with leasing agent Sophia. Sophia was friendly, helpful, responsive, and flexible scheduling visits for my out-of-state move-in. Just moved in, will update accordingly.
I moved here 2 weeks ago from the city, so far I have had an amazing experience living in this community, its quiet, cute dogs, beautiful view and great value. I read reviews from others and I know there are bugs but this is suburbs cant expect it to be pest free. My advise is to get a pest ultrasonic device and spray vinegar water mix outside the patio to keep the spiders at bay. Apart from that I think Maintenance is doing a great job and so are the staff from leasing office. People have mentioned parking issues in some of the reviews but I always get parking, if not there is plenty on the outside and not too far away from apartment building. Thank you Sherwood team for making it a better place to live.
Great family. Great place to live love my community i love to be able to wake up to such a beautiful place its always nice and clean Ive never had any problems living here I love my yard I can decorate they call me the decorating lady I love it
New garbage disposal works great...Thanks
Great place to live, neighbors are friendly. Pets are kept privately, grounds are well kept up no trash or debree on side walks or parking lots. Management are polite and very cooperative to your needs. Emergency assistance always available. Property is well lit at night for security.
Im shocked by the low rating as I lived at Sherwood from 2006 - 2009. I understand management and facilities may have changed in the last 11 years. During my time, I always had a great experience with the mgmt office. When I asked for leniency on missing a payment by the due date, lock-outs, and granted me a day-by-day contract during my last month, which was out of my lease contract.
Have lived here now for almost 2 month. Everything has been great. Have had some routy neighbors making all kinds of noise after 11pm but thanks God It looks like they have moved out. So far so good. Have been very pleased.
We highly recommend Sherwood Crossing! My husband and I having been living at Sherwood Crossing since May 2019 and absolutely love it here. For a 1 bedroom, our apartment is huge and has plenty of storage space. The staff has been polite and knowledgeable, the maintenance staff has answered all our requests in a most timely manner. We loved using the pool this summer and love playing games in the club house. We love the pet friendly environment (we have a dog)! We have not used the fitness room but saw that it has a lot of modern equipment. There has been NO mice or bugs in our apartment so that is not even an issue for us. I would recommend to the office that they try to soundproof their ceilings a little better than they are, but all in all, we are very happy and are so excited that the property is in the process now of being re-modeled with new siding, it looks beautiful, cant wait till they get to Laurel Court!Mary & Agustine TorresLaurel Court
I moved in 4/23, and there were a few things that needed repair. Maintenance took care of everything except for the A/C. Its been three weeks and Ive submitted five work orders and it still does not work. 5/15 I took the day off from work to see if anyone would show up on the most recent work order, and nothing. Got an email saying the work was completed.Edit: Ive since gotten a call from the leasing office, and they sent someone out to look at it. They wont be able to fix it until Monday.Edit 2: It was not repaired on Monday (5/18), and after multiple emails, all they did was put in another service request. It is currently 5/21, the outside temperature is 63 degrees. My apartment is 85 degrees.
I called on Thursday to make an appointment to tour the complex on Friday afternoon. The woman who scheduled our appointment even checked with her supervisor while we were talking to double check the availability. When we arrived (from out of state I may add) the leasing center was closed. I called again and a new representative said they were not taking appointment or scheduling tours. ???? We knocked on the door until someone came to assist us and he claimed the call center is just scheduling people and not notifying them, so he would not be able to help us. If this is how they run their organization, I highly doubt we will be pursuing renting from them.
Horrible please read the google reviews they are all true. This place has a bug problem big water bugs all around. Mice inside. The floor floods when it rains. It’s a mess they honestly just all about the money here they always say they will come fix something but don’t. They make you pay thousands of dollars for a ran down shack. We were suppose to get newly renovated and the closest door is broken, the cabinets messed up. One only thing is the apartment is spacious but it is a spacious mess. It’s raining and we are literally walking on a soaking we carpet throughout the house. Its so bad we are trying to figure out how to break the lease. Haven’t been here a year only 6 months and it’s a disgrace. If I could rate this place a 0 I would rate it 5 times.
If I could give no stars, I would. This place was terrible. I lived there for almost 4 years and always paid my rent on time. Kept my place clean and vacated on time with the entire place cleaned out. I put in maintenance request in the beginning to have my bedroom door fixed because it wouldnt shut. They kept ignoring the request and telling me it was fixed and it was not. After several request to have the door fixed, the maintenance crew came out and took the door for a week and a half. When they finally returned the door, it was busted up. They make up bogus charges to decrease the amount of the security deposit you get back. Also, They charge you for an additional two months of electric even after you leave. Their reasoning behind that is supposedly you are not charged for electric in the first couple of months when you live there. I was charged for electric from the very beginning. Be careful! If it seems too good to be true, thats because it usually is too good to be true. This is a warning to any potential tenants. I would honestly keep looking if I were you.
It is a very nice area. The apartment is spacious. I just wish maintenance was better at taking care of things. I have a few problems that have been there since I moved in that I have addressed but have not been fixed
I had a really good experience and the Neiborhood are friendly
Today my fiance and i went to view the apartments. They seem to have everything we are looking for. But to top it all off the young lady that we worked with today Cynthia was just incredible. She was very Personable, informative and overall made a great first impression. We both decided it would be great to be able to to deal with the staff in the office for the duration of our stay there if need be versus some of the other apartments we have dealt with. It is certainly a breath of fresh air. We viewed an apartment and fell in love. They are just beautiful all around and come with everything we have been looking for. We cant wait to finally call Sherwood Home. Thank you Cynthia for all of your help and for being so kind.
NOTHING NICE TO SAY
My car was broken into here, my sisters car was rear ended, ghetto people live here and they should install cameras. Zero stars
Update 11/09/2020*My car was hit in the Laurel Court. The guy who hit it ran away. I no longer feel safe living at this place and don’t feel safe parking my car in the parking lot. I’m very disappointed that there are no cameras and no one seems to have seen the person who hit my car. I will not be renewing my lease. We love our spacious apartment! The leasing office staff is professional and polite. The Maintenance guy comes whenever you need him. We feel secure in our apartment. We always get emails with any updates regarding anything happening in the neighborhood.
I have been living here for 9 months and I love my apartment I havent had any issues with mice thankfully and maintenance has always came the same day or next day to fix any issues. my only issue is being that I live upstairs my neighbors below me smoke constantly and the hallways as soon as u walk in the building the smell hits you its embarrassing and overwhelming I dont like to have guests over because no matter what I do it constantly smells like cigarettes if motels have rooms for smokers why not this complex I have a young child and 1 on the way second hand smoke is a danger to all of our health so because of this I will be looking for a new apartment next year overall not to bad majority of the time it is quiet.
I wish I could give this place less than a 1. Living here is a joke. Every time I call in with an issue, I’m never taken seriously. We have been here since the end of August and I have been ready to leave since December. They don’t care about you. They just want their monthly check. Do yourself a favor and find a different place to live. You WON’T be happy here. Counting down the days until October when my lease is up.
Nice apartments
We recently had a major plumbing issue where they had to rip up the carpet and dig a hole in our apartment floor. Due to safety issues we were not permitted to remain in the apartment. Morgan properties said we had to contact our insurance company to cover living expenses for relocation to a hotel. Morgan Properties DID NOT PAY ONE CENT. They care more about profit than their residents. Wish I could give them a minus 5.
My aunt, my cousin and my sister used to be in this apartment complex building they left Because how ghetto it was but now my brother rents out a two bedroom apartment he keeps his apartment very nice absolutely beautiful and he as 2 children but every time I go there it smells like weed in the hallway before going into the apartment... other people pay so much money just a live there when you have other people there just do whatever the hell they please.. when you go in the one side off of Red Lion Road and go all the way towards the back when its a nice day you will see how ghetto i seen a lot of underage kids drinking in the parking lot... if you didnt know you were at apartment complex you would think it was a projects building!!!!! 💯
Horrible place to live. $1,200 for what? I moved in and there were dead roaches in the draws in my kitchen. On the side of the stove there was grease and more dirt. Underneath the stove and refrigerator it was trash. It looked as if someone just moved out the same day. I’ve been having heating problems since I moved in ‘ in January... it’s now the beginning of April and I still can not control my heat. My apartment is so hot I have to turn on the central air so that my apartment can cool down. It’s so hot in the apartment the central barley cools the apartment off.
Living there was not bad at all. I actually really enjoyed it for the most part. Danielle and Cynthia were always great to my girlfriend and I. However, then things seems to change around the complex. Management was obviously treating their employees like trash, so much so you could sense the hostility in the office when you walked it. But amazingly this did not change the treatment we received from the 2 ladies in the leasing office. It was when I moved out that I became very disappointed. I was warned that management will nickel and dime you for as much of your security deposit as possible. Now, I am a very clean individual overly so in most peoples minds. But with that I said I went ABOVE and BEYOND to clean the apartment after moving out. I shampooed the carpets, I scrubbed the floors, bathroom, windows, vacuumed, everything I could do I did. Then I got my final bill and security refund: What a JOKE. Now mind you my move out date was AUG 1:Over 40 dollars for CLEANING on AUG 1st60 dollars for CarpetOver 30 dollars electric for 6 28- 7-31 ( I was not in the apartment at this time except 1 day)8 dollars in service fees for electric I didnt even use.and another random charge I do not remember. My mind was blown I only got 1/4 of my deposit back and I know for a fact my apartment was in better condition when I left than it was when I moved in!My advise is to get a walk through done with you present cause if not they will screw you out of your money.
This place is absolute trash. My girlfriend lived there for 2 1/2 years and during that time it was nothing but awful. I saw many bugs and mice. There were things they were suppose to fix that never got fixed. The last 4 months the A/C was out and they never came to fix it. The hallways always had a weird smell.Do yourself a favor and never rent from them!
To follow up on my last review because i ran out of space. We were then woken up this morning to be told oh we will be there at 8:30 to begin drilling into our floor and we were no longer going to be transferred and it was up to us and our renters insurance to move us.We have been more than patient and our completely fed up with the lack of respect, care, and responsibility Sherwood Crossing and Morgan Properties has taken to make sure its residents are in a safe environment.Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from here.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move here! I have been here almost a year and a half. At first I loved it. But lately the mouse problem is out of control. They call an exterminator who only comes on Thursdays which is ridiculous. He came and put glue traps all over. Big deal. Thats just putting a band aid on it. Maintenance came filled holes. I found more mice. Called the office was told it was not a priority. Took them 2 days to come back out and fill more holes. Found more mice. Called and was told my message will be passed on to the property manager. No one calls you back to follow up or check on the situation. So youre left wondering what is going on. They make you feel like you dont matter. I have mice in my kitchen. That should be a priority.Edit- Their response to this said they want to continue to resolve any issues. What a joke. I am still having problems with mice. I put a work order in and over a week later called to find out the status and was told they didnt know what I was talking about. First, if that was true then why not call me and ask? And second I know they are lying because I spoke to the regional manager about it. Also, I had a problem with the dryer in the building venting into my apartment so I called it in. Absolutely nothing was done. In fact I had to take matters in my own hands and pull the vent out of the wall so they shut the dryer off then tried charging me for the vent. I got the regional manager involved in that too. When I spoke to the property manager she pretty much said I was lying. She is very rude and does not care about the residents at this complex. They will make everything sound great and wonderful until you actually move in then they dont care about anything. Its a complete joke. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
Those Appartment must have a make over. For the price they are very poorly kept. To much money. The kitchen and bathroom are horrible. Doors are old very, very poor. To much money Over $900.00 a month and they do not match the area. The office staff are very nice. They do change staff every month.
Lived here for 2 years and lived it at first! The pool was a great idea and the view of nature and stream are still nice. But the place just seems to be falling apart. Ceilings caving in and crumbling. And not just my apartment either. Lots of plumbing issues over the 2 years. Dryer vents never cleaned so lint is always on your clothes. Maintenance for a bit seemed to only do quick temporary fixes instead of solving the real issue. Like my sink not draining right so the maintenance guy turned down the water pressure so it wouldnt fill as fast but then made it horrible when wanting to use the sink! Used to be nice out back until people drove all over the grass moving out and maintenance wise and even though they charged the tenants for the damage to the grass they never put the money into fixing the grass! Horrible placement for the few dog posts that you can find. They put 4 out front by the parking lot but only one out back by the huge field of grass forcing you to walk all the way to the other end to clean up. Just little stuff that can easily make things easier like assigning sections to some parking so people arent parking in a different section simply so they can be lazy and enter their apartments from the back So now I have to park in a differen section because they have 3+ cars+ 2motorcycles parked down in our section of the complex. Then the not letting you know when theres mail in the office for you. They used to call you if a package was taken to the office instead of being delivered to you One day they decided it was too much work. I sort of understand but if I call the office you should be able to tell me if something is there at that point Not force us to go to the office only to find out it was delivered to the beer store(alternative drop off location)So yea it was nice but as the guy said to me (that moved out shortly after) Its a one maybe 2 year stay then you get the hell out! And he was right! After a few seasons of mice and never seeing an end to them the time has come for us to get the heck out!
Nice place to live. Needs better parking enforcement, and security.
I paid the $1500 penalty to break my least ! ——This place used to be nice, I lived here back in 2015 but I left because they over charge on electric an came back in 2018 ! Which was the biggest mistake of my life!. When I returned the property manager quit and the Maintence was 20 times worst ! Is ran down, when I moved in everything needed to be fixed, pluming, mirrors in the bathrooms, sinks needed to be replaced, dishwasher, also I had no heat the entire time, AC was broke half the summer. I paid the $1500 penalty to break my least ! Because it was not worth the $1515 a month I was being charged for that section 8 management.
My wife and I Robert and Dianne Gallagher were at your complex today. We were informed we did not meet your criteria due to our current credit rating. We were impressed my your office staff and your facility, we have the income and were willing to put up 4 months rent to get an apartment. We have paid all of bills on time or ahead of time in the past, the past year has been hard on us and we are very much back in control. Since your upper superior personnel seems to treat PEOPLE as a number rather than good perspective rent prospects that is a shame, maybe you will be able to rent to drug dealers to adolescents with a high credit score to fill your property vacancies, that should make your current tenants overjoyed. Again your office staff was very helpful not like sit behind the desk number counters
This has to be the worse place i have ever rented from. The mice problem and bug infestations. Had floods in the building all year i was there. Maintenance comes whenever they feel like it. This place used to be good it is now run poorly and no communication what so ever. They put money into the outside of the building but the inside is a joke. They are theives so watch your security deposit when you move out. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
I simply dont understand some of the reviews, perhaps it matters which building you are living in. Ive lived here two months after relocating to the area. The staff has consistently been incredible. Regarding maintenance, I had concerns about the way the carpet was installed, maintenance addressed it. I had a lose deck board, maintenance replaced it. My air conditioner wasnt working, maintenance replaced it. I had an issue with beetles or water bugs, the exterminator addressed it. I have yet to see a roach or evidence of mice (hopefully Im not speaking too soon).Neighbors havent posed any problems. As a matter of fact they have been friendly. Its apartment living; so of course you are going to hear people walking and such. However at night it is peaceful. The only thing that I consistently noticed is the garbage (sometimes furniture) outside of the trash bin; but even then it eventually gets cleaned up. Also, I wish there was assigned parking. Sometimes when I come home from work, I have to park away from my building - I dont think visitors should be allowed parking over tenants.I have to say, Im pleasantly surprised. Its a real decent community!Deborah S.
I can never say I enjoy living here! There are so many mice! And just a month ago we called the office to address them about a wasp nest in a nearby tree, they said they would take care of it but its been a month now! Children run around outside by that tree and people walk their dogs! The mouse problem is just terrible, my poor grandmother tried to sleep tonight only to find a mouse next to her bed, now Im too scared to sleep tonight because we were unable to catch the mouse. I dont want to be told to speak to the office because so far the staff here have done nothing! Im very close to moving out, and I havent even been here for a full year!
Dont live here. I have mice and ants that they keep coming out to take care of, but both keep coming back. I cant use one of my cupboards because it is the mices toilet. Maintenance will try to do things as quickly and inefficiently as possible. Cynthia is the best part of this complex.
The air in my apartment stopped working yesterday. Called maintenance and they came right out surprisingly. At 3pm told me what they needed to do to fix it, it’s now 6pm, office is closed and my unit is still 90 degrees.5 weeks ago we noticed water marks on our bedroom wall and immediately went to the office and told them there’s a leak somewhere. We were told it wasn’t an emergency since water wasn’t directly coming inside and someone would be out tomorrow. That was 5 weeks ago, no one has come out to fix it.Our kitchen drawers fall out and we have to glue them back together.Someone keeps putting bags of dog poop in front of all the buildings in shire court, we’ve sent emails complaining and have been ignored.Police are constantly here due to people fighting all night.I get harassed walking my dog to the dog park by creepy grown men that follow me around. I do not feel safe walking around by myself after a certain hour.Applied with my dog and paid the dog deposit and apparently wasn’t charged my “dog rent” the first year, so got a random $300 back rent charge because they failed to include it.Wrote a list of complains on my paper saying I wasn’t renewing and took it to the office and they just said “sorry”.My car has been hit in the parking lot causing damage because neighbors don’t care.-this is the 3/4th time my air conditioning has stopped working in the 2 years I’ve been here and I’m just told “the unit has a leak nothing we can do” you could replace the unit so when it’s 100 degrees outside we still have air. We pay our rent on time and our electric is sky high for the air to be on, that doesn’t even work.My dog has been panting for the past 2 days because the thermostat can’t get any higher in here and after having literally 4 people here to “fix the problem” 3.5 hours later it’s still unbearably hot. I pay way too much in rent for it to be this hot. I don’t care if your shift is over this is a health concern and a “maintenance emergency”
I regret signing my lease here. There were many issues that I found. First the upkeep on this place by the staff is awful. One of the stove tops did not work. I reached out to maintenance and they adised they would get a new stove for the apartment. 8 months later still no stove. They just paint over everything before you move in. I found this out as paint started chipping off the bath tub floor after a month of use. The walls and floors are paper thin, and you can hear any of your neighbors if they talk over a whisper. The worst part of living here is the whole apartment complex smells like weed. I don’t smoke, and when I would turn on my bathroom fan or when the ac is on the smell of weed would start to come through into my apartment. This place is somewhere I don’t recommend living.
I wouldn’t even give this place 1 star. i applied for a lease with three adults. $180. was told i needed a co-signer because yes I have crappy credit right now but who doesn’t these days. but I have never been evicted from ANYWHERE my husband and I make more than enough to cover the rent. yet we were declined even after I added a co-signer because the co signer didn’t make enough. WHO CARES THAT PERSON DOESNT PAY MY BILLS. I am responsible when it comes to having a place to live I have children! instead give me a run around because of a co signer!? SCAM ARTISTS. ALL THEY WANTED WAS MORE MONEY OUT OF ME AND A WASTE OF MY TIME. $240 broker now because they wanted to give me a run around. thank you for wasting my time and taking money from me that I could of used for an easier place to get into!!!!!
It’s been a year since I’ve lived here. My original review was rated 5 stars. However, now that I have a more thorough experience this is a more realistic view of my opinion. Management staff continue to exceed expectation with customer service; except for Dante ( who is rude, arrogant and speaks to tenants most inappropriately). The grounds are kept to the best of management’s ability. However, let’s face it, no matter what apartment complex you live there will be neighbors who just don’t care about keeping the grounds free from debris. Garbage is collected weekly, landscapers are visibly present, snow removal has been decent.During the winter months there were mice present; probably from the creek neighboring the complex. However, management continued to send exterminator until the problem was eliminated. The reason why my rating dropped from a 5 to a 3 are purely due to 3 reasons a). Unbelievable fees and b). Parking c). Unleashed dogs. One time I locked my keys in my car during business hours and I was charged $75 for maintenance to come unlock my apartment door. The lease says if you are locked out, “you may be charged a fee”; so I expected to pay something-but not just under One hundred dollars!Parking here is herendous! On a consistent and regular basis tenants have visitors parked for extended periods of time (I’m talking weeks at a time). Combine that with tenants who have multiple vehicles for each household parking is a premium. I never lived any place where visitors have the same parking privileges that the actual renters have. I’m frequently forced to park away from my building area because of this. During the evening and winter months this is extremely disappointing. As a tenant paying $1275+month, expecting to park near my residence is a reasonable expectation. There are more then a few tenants who walk dogs (large dogs outside of the dog park) without a leash, which is an accident waiting to happen with the amount of other dogs, people and children present.Due to the outrageous fees, parking situation and free roaming dogs, I do not plan to renew with Sherwood Crossings at the expiration of my current lease.
Even though My family hasnt moved into your community yet, I wanted to thank the wonderful staff esp Cynthia and John for their professionalism and courtesy in answering all our questions re your units and availability. We are so thankful to you guys for taking the time to help us find the right home and location and are looking forward to moving there in the very near future.Having a administrative staff such as yours that make potential tenants feel welcomed is a great asset to your community.Sincerely, Wiggins family
Why is it my job to have to call the police and be threatened with physical assault by the person who is parked in my spot? You guys made up the rules that people would be ticketed and towed if they parked in private, paid for spots. Now you act like the onus is on us. No, you should have security checking spots. Its not our job to call the police, it is your job. Hire security to check resident tags and stickers. Easy solution. Ive been talking to all my neighbors and most of us are pretty fed up.
Honestly the worst leasing experience i could Have ever had, i lived there almost 2 and a half years, my electric bill for a small 2 bedroom at one point was almost $500 for the month and went up every month after calling them and bringing it to their attention multiple times they just kept telling us to pay It and That they’d fix It and When months had gone by with no changes we refused to continue paying It and they sent us an eviction notice when we called the office they said It was Fine but now i have An eviction on my record when i had Never been evicted and made It hard For me to get a new place afterwards.Anyways Finally we reached out to the electric company ourselves and they told us that the office had never even asked them to come out and look at the problem in the 4 months we had been reporting a problem so they came out per our request and our meter was broken which could had been fixed and saved us money from the beginning, at one point every time we turned our air on our apartment would flood but they refused to fix It until The weather got over 90 degrees for a certain amount of days in a row.Our apartment smelled like cat piss when we moved in, there were patchy holes in the walls, the carpet was put in incorrectly and started tearing up weeks after moving in which they now say is our fault and took out of our security deposit even though we reported It when We moved in.We’ve had mice, roaches, our dog got fleas and we had to spend thousands of dollars on medication multiple times after awhile i couldnt Even wait to leave i decided to just move out and pay two rents for almost 6 months just to not be there anymore
This place is a good place to live. They are near at least 3 food markets. 2 Wal-Marts as well as a hospital nearby. They have Many amenities including a pool and fitness center. They also do not have that high of rent for everything they offer. If you have a problem it is fixed the same day. I love this place.
Save yourself a big headache and money DO NOT MOVE THERE. I have lived in multiple apartments from my time being in the military and traveling, but this was THE WORST apartment I have lived in. To keep it short I lived there 2 years each year rent goes up but quality declines. My apartment heat stopped working and wouldnt heat the apt. over 64 degrees doing the winter months; their solution was to give me plug-in space heaters and I would have to pay the increase in energy cost and wait to be reimbursed. The heat never got fixed constant run around with the office. that was just one incident. finally when it comes time to move out I understand damages will occur naturally, but they will deduct every possible thing from the security deposit so dont expect to get much back. For the price they are asking for there are a better places in the area and better quality. dont be like me and ignore the warning signs you will pay financially and mentally dealing with the stress that comes with living at Sherwood crossing.
Had to pick up a friend. Very nice places. Want to find out more about them Im looking to rent
This place is for people who can enjoy a nice apartment. It offers a pool, playground, dog park, and creek for hiking. Overall would give 5 stars for the whole package.
Spacious apartments for the money. Horrible management. Quite a few lousy tenants that ruin some of the good amenities for other residents at times. If your looking just for a decent living space Sherwood is a good choice. But dont expect much out of the management/maintenance staff.
***Warning***Do not move into this complex. It was nothing but a headache from day 1 of Maintenance issues, no AC in hot weather and then having no heat then After being flooded out twice in unit A3 in the middle of winter, I discovered I was living and breathing in new and old Mold and how maintenance fixed it was to paint over it and thats it. I also had crickets in my apartments so every week they had to come spray. Maintenance was horrible and half assed jobs and After contacting the office to set up a meeting with the Property manager Kathleen she was always busy and was never available.I ended up having to call 311 and also L&I myself and then came and gave them days to correct the issues but i ended up packing up and moving out early. I do NOT recommend moving in.
My husband and I moved here in November I liked the size of the bedroom and walk through closet the kitchen lmao only one person at a time can go in there and up to today what ever has water like bathroom ceiling, our kitchen ceiling from the persons dishwasher, and the ceiling where washer and dryer are well they are have leaked and maintenance smh don’t bother cause when they closed toys r us they were hired to do maintenance and when they say they “fixed” the problem and leave the mess for you to clean and leave lights on but there is one guy who knows what he is actually doing and very nice and friendly his name is Parker he is the only one I want to fixed anything around here and the thing is I do like it here just fix things the right way the first time so we don’t have to keep calling back with the same issue
Live here in 2br,2ba with Den, LR, DR, Kit, laundry Room with W/D, Storage closet, Walk in Closets every room, patio, grass grounds and Trees, on premisses Picnic area Barbecues, playground, Dog Park, build in pool with lounge chairs fenced in, 4 apartment and townhouse courts with parking, private parking if needed, any apartment size or townhouse sizes for your particular accommodation, utilities included in rental pricing, beautiful atmosphere, close to schools, shopping area, Transportations and Jefferson Torresdale Hospital...,.....
Maintenance is very fast and the property is always well groomed. The pool is a large and clean. Very nice staff at the leasing office.
I went for a tour on this apartment complex. As soon as I parked my car, this pregnant lady (the manger) comes out of the office. As she was walking towards her car and asks me if I was going in and I said yes...we are going in a meeting she told me, the office is closed and got in the car. She didnt even look my way, she didnt even tell me if they were coming back or offered anything to me.......she was so rude. So I just left and never went back. I am glad I never rented from hem because from what I hear, the manager is very rude and doesnt care about anything. The maintenance sucks as well. They never do what needs to be done, you put a request and it gets done months later I have heard from current residents. So I am glad I never rented here........Maybe that RUDE manager leaving the office that day was a sign for me.
Power always going out, bad signal, and everything looks like a drunk person put it back in place. I cannot wait to move. It is infested with ants! Worst place ever I do not recommend it😡😡😡😡
Have they fixed the issues . Seems like someone needs to call and exterminator for the bugs mice etc. also seems like the mantaince ppl need to address mantaince issues ( paint issues peeling paint etc stove issues and heating issues ) I was on here looking into renting cause it’s closer to my work but if the stove don’t work heat don’t don’t bugs I may as well stay in zombie land where I know may house is clean stove works and no heating issues.
Horrible. Old. Nothing like the pictures its all fake
The only issue I have with Sherwood Crossing is the rent goes up every lease renewal . I understand price hikes but now I know why I constantly see move outs.Dont get me wrong it is a nice community but there are some nice neighbors that have moved because of yearly increases . A full complex with quality people is better than a two thirds full complex.
My parents just moved in and they love it.
The staff Cynthia and John are great. However management are crooks and thieves. Kathleen is unprofessional and rude. Upon arrival the apartment was filthy. There were bugs and dirt in the bathroom and kitchen. Also the heat wasnt working mind you its the middle of winter. I regret living here and worst part it hasnt been even a month since I moved in. I wished I saw the reviews before I chose this apartment complex I can see why it was rated 2 stars. I definitely will file a complaint and sue this establishment. There is so much more but I will leave it at that. Terrible place! Horrible establishment!
This is beyond terrible customer experience. I went inside the office and had to wait over 10 minutes before someone walks over and asks if I needed help. It is a disgrace. Leasing agents were too busy giggling an being on their personal phones when they noticed someone had walked in to the office. I was briefly explained what they had available; I felt I was rushed. I was so frustrated that I told the leasing agent thank you but that is ok and walked out. As I was leaving towards my car a resident asked me if I was interested in moving to this complex and she stated please dont, it is terrible here; it was the biggest mistake I have ever made What does that tell you? A lot.............I will not make the same mistake as that resident.
Do not move here. Unless you want to get screwed over. I lived there for about 2 1/2 years unfortunately. Maintence is a joke. Mice are included. They do not clean the yards or leave enough doggy bags around the complex. Then when you move out they rack up insane charges so that not only do you not get your security deposit but you OWE them money! and trying to get ahold of them on the phone is like trying to get ahold of Oprah. and when they do answer they pass the buck on the corporate side so they dont have to hear you yell when you find out your security deposit will not be returned. so yeah ive had some really great memories with this place...good times good times.
This is not worth the money or headache. Mice everywhere, people not picking up after their dogs, getting hit with hidden fees everytime rent is coming up, some nice people but majority are shady af, and parking is the worst smh.
If you are thinking of moving here. DONT. I have been a resident for 4 years the first year and a half was mediocre at best. Maintenance when they do show up cannot fix anything right luckily I was in construction and fixed most of my own problems. The apartments are falling apart and to my professional opinon being close to the creek those ones ARE sinking you can see the stress cracks in the walls and cinderblocks on the deck.. Decks hasnt been painted or replaced in years Parking is absolutely horrible.Just now finding out about the complimentary carpet cleaning that we were never told about. So much to list alls they do is take your money please avoid at allcost this place is tooo expensive for what youwill not get out of it.
Do not live here at all costs!! This review is long overdue as I moved out of this dump in April. Long review ahead standby. While initially I was pleased with my apartment/this complex it slowly began to break down month by month. There are a ton of fees when you move in and yet the amenities were closed for several months i.e the gym. There was never any parking in my lot because they have reserved signs that you have to pay for monthly in additional to all the other fees and there just are not enough reserved spots to go around. The office staff will lie to your face and are completely incompetent. A few months before my lease was up I received the letter from the office that included move out instructions. It stated that I needed to personally shampoo the carpets. This was unheard of to me so I called the office and was told that vacuuming should suffice after I asked if they offered any carpet cleaning services.I was then informed that by two staff members that residents can receive a complimentary carpet cleaning once a year. I was never told this when I moved in (of course) so I asked if I could schedule a cleaning. I was then denied my complimentary cleaning since I was not renewing my lease.I lived here for a total of 16 months and paid an absurd amount when I needed to extend my lease for four months beyond the initial 12. When I moved in I paid a $500 deposit after 2 months of waiting and calling about the return of my deposit I received a measly check for $68. They charged me a $350 carpet cleaning fee which is absolutely absurd!! Considering I only had a few spots near the entrance of my apartment. I understand it is there practice now to never return deposits fully. Lesson learnedDo yourself a favor do not stay here.PROSthe poolCONSEVERYTHING ELSE- RODENTS- NO PARKING- INCOMPETENT STAFF- NOT ENOUGH TRASH DUMPSTERS- DEPOSIT THIEVESNot to mention the loud neighbors and the people constantly moving in and out they just cannot keep a steady flow of tenets perhaps the mice running freely have to do with that.DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
Literally made up damages to keep part of the deposit. Now I understand why they would not let me be at the inspection and would Dodge questions about it
To start, I have lived in these apartments for three years. The maintenance team is extremely slow when completing work orders and the work done is low quality at best. However, the office staff is friendly and generally helpful. The apartments are starting to fall apart due to POOR MAINTANENECE. The only true pro to sherwood crossing is they allow big dogs without issue. I would recommend, if you are considering moving in, shop around first!!!
Literally made up fake damages to keep part of the deposit. Refused to let me be there for the inspection for a reason apparently
Overpriced. Maintenance is terrible. Only positive is that they allow large dogsUpdate: finally moved out. Stay away
I have been here 3 months and have caught 3 mice and still see more droppings, we could hear them often specially at night,i have mice traps and glue traps all over the apartment, their exterminator is a joke,If i knew what i know a bout this apartment, i would have never moved here, please be advised.my plan is to post every time i catch a mouse and the land lord says you can not break your lease because of mice problem.
SCAM. Apartments look good on the surface then once you sign the lease all the cut corners start to show. Our dishwasher is moldy and disgusting, we were told it would be cleaned before we moved in. Their version of cleaning it was to run the machine with no soap. Once we moved in and realized it wasnt fixed, we submitted a request to maintenance. The maintenance guy ran it with some dishwasher detergent and said for us to run it again if that didnt work. It did not work, and weve been without a dishwasher the entire duration of our lease because of this. The garbage disposal backs up into the dishwasher so when you have to handwash your dishes because the dishwasher is disgusting all the dirry water flows into your dishwasher. The air conditioner leaks, maintenece fixed it, not sure what they did because it still leaking on top of my washing machine. My oven door fell off about 3 months ago, maintenance came out, looked at it, said they would need to order a replacement part or new stove and wrote down the model number. Well i guess they just threw that away because I still have no oven. Upgraded bathrooms is a lie. They just glued plastic sheet tile over the old tiles, not even measure well, since you can see where the pieces all overlap, and its popping off already. They just paint over whatever dirt is already in the sink because you can see and feel all the bumps in the paint. Our apartment was recently painted before we moved in, and cleaning up all the dirt and dust was our job once we got there. Our cable line was hanging out of the wall with no cover, unattached to anything and was active when we moved in. All of the doors in the apartment are crooked so you either need to yank your doors open and force them shut, or dont even bother closing them because they have huge gaps around them anyway. No one pick up after their dogs, theres never any parking near your building because visitors take all the spots or people park sideways and take up more than one spot, so people just make their own spots in the parking lots. Ive seen people trash diving in the dumpsters and people driving all their trash here to throw away from places outside the complex. I could go on forever about this place, but seriously save your money.Edit: 3 weeks since they responded to this review and I have yet to be contacted by anyone.Edit2: 9 months later, still never heard anything, things have only gotten worse, and I just found a dead mouse in my apartment.EDIT 3: Almost a year later, still none of the above issues have been addressed aside from the dead mouse. Convienently my building was randomly selected for pest services a few days after I made that last edit. I called the rental office this morning to get some clarification of a rent payment issue, was told Id get a call back shortly. No one called and when I called again to follow up the person I spoke with was extremely unprofessional and hung up on me. This is typical of every encounter I have with office staff, turnover is incredibly high and no one in the office knows what theyre doing or talking about. Quality has been quickly going down hill at Sherwood Crossing.
If you are thinking about moving here, DONT!!! The property manager is very rude. Staff is very rude. Rats and bugs all over the apartment. I wish I could give less than 1 star. It’s just terrible
I like living here it’s nice and peacefull
Cute little small but for one or two nice
Be ware, leaky ceilings, rats, water and electricity get cut out every other month. The apartment are old you can hear people walk upstairs. Absolutely horrible apartments. Been here for a year and going to move out in a couple of weeks, cant wait.
Rats, cant turn the ac on without the ceiling dripping and falling apart. i called maintenance on call to report the broken ac and it was sweltering insidd the apt even though i.out it on ac.... they never came and other times they said ok well get someone out to look at it...and kitchen ks small with cabinets that fall apart when you pukl them out. with screws sticking out of the carpet
Horrible horrible horibble!!! Roaches everywhere, neighbors always loud all hours of the night! My car was keyed from bumper to bumper on both sides and all they can say was they had no cameras to help. Trash was always all over the floor because dumpsters were always full. Maintenence would do what you requeted just so you can have the same issue not too long after. Oh and the worst part of all is once you actually leave they come up with any excuse in the book to steal your deposit and even have the audacity to bill you hundreds of dollars more and give you only a week to pay it or they threaten to put it on your credit! I honestly waited month by month to leave this place!!!! couldnt be happier now that I left. All in all, I HIGHLY dont reccomend this to anyone!!
I am currently a resident here and have been since last July 4th weekend 2014. My husband and I have not liked the apartment we rented from day one. Since it was a holiday weekend when we moved in, We didnt get to see THE apartment we were to have. It was not move-in ready, as a matter of fact, they gave us $75 credit to clean it!!!! I dont think so.. There were dirty former tenants clothes behind the washer and dryer, cabinets not even wiped down, and I am here to tell you the apartment( model) we saw was NO where near what we wound up with. I refused to move in. I mean, we spent like $3,000 moving in andtraveling from 2,,220 miles for my husbands job. So, there was only one other 1 bedroom available, which we hurriedly went and looked at, but it was not the Executive One Bedroom which has more square feet and the regular one bedroom. We moved from a 1,700 s.f. 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. So, due to the other one being so small, we regrettably moved into the one we are in. The pictures you prospective tenants see on their website are not what you will wind up with. No pretty wallpaper, nothing. Our kitchen cabinets are 1960-70, just painted over with tons of white paint. Just painted over EVERYTHING in the apartment. But what has been happening lately here is very disturbing. Just today, out walking our dogs, we came across trash in the parking lot that had what looked to be drug vials and used condoms all over the place. And tonight there was 2 men digging in the trash dumpster in the dark. There have been rumors of security being hired, and I can tell you that the lighting in the parking lots are seriously inadequate. Also, tires being slashed and an altercation that looked like a blood bath on an apartments patio door. (I have pictures)Im just telling you our experience since we moved in. I would NOT recommend this place to anybody. Oh, and moving in over the 4th of July weekend - our A/C wasnt working and the award winning maintenance crew refused to come out because it was not 80 degrees, only 76. They couldnt even fix the entrance way doorbell the first time, had to come back out a second time, as it was ringing both us and our upstairs neighbor. Seriously?
A nice place to live.
Ive lived here in apt 39A for almost a year and its been hell. from finding termites in my bedroom and the constant mold smell i will not be renewing my lease. WORD OF ADVICE FIND somewhere else to live
My girlfriend lives here, great size apartments
Cockroaches, showers that switched from ice cold to boiling hot in a second, loud neighbors at all times of the night, car broken into, trash all over the place and Kiss your security deposit goodbye because they add false charges when you move out.Easily the most miserable place Ive ever lived. Couldnt wait to leave. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!
My sons girlfriend just moved there with her family.
Love this place.... all sad to be moving.
The worst place you live in they have mice’s with the thousands herbal in every thing you need to try to live in it so you know what I am talking about I used leave there for more then 7 year I never go back never give a good recommendation it’s the worst worst worst place with trust never you will get the security deposit back forgetting for good the will make you pay extra above the security they are inventing how to get what they can from you i sore you west your money
Always seemed nice to live
Not bad for the price cleaning living
