Gym area.. never wait for a treadmill!Exercise classes for all!Awesome for children of all ages! We are especially loving grandchildren in V ball and Basketball And the great ladies in child care!Friendly and in the know staff! πππππ
This review is about the youth Basketball leagues. This is my sons second season playing and all I can say is that its all about favoritism and winning. Players with less skills are benched most of the game, get little play, while were paying plenty of money for the season as well as our monthly dues. I noticed this in the first season when the coach used the same 2 players ALL game long, while my son and others were benched the majority of the time. I understand my son isnt the best, however, this is the reason why I have him enrolled so that he can get his practice in before starting high school and trying out for the Basketball team which is his goal. Another complaint is that the coaches make fun of the kids and embarrass them......with demeaning comments which I wont even write on here. I thought the YMCA was about families and making people feel good? Not making kids feel like theyre less than. Every Saturday morning its the same thing. Today, my son played a TOTAL of 4 minutes! This is completely unacceptable! I know Im not the only parent that feels this way.
Clean areas. Members are predominantly wearing masks and using provided wipes to clean equipment
This is by far the best gym Iβve gone too. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is energetic but also relaxed. You never feel judged and you enjoy the workout. The machines are great and well maintained. Although, it would be good to have an unlimited buddy pass for the price of the membership. Other than that, itβs great!
We love Aquatic Center in Pembroke Pines. Professional staff and great facility! Thank you!
Love this family place. Activities for all ages
GREAT FOR THE FAMILY, The location in Pembroke Pines is super clean and neat. all the equipment great. my 10 y/o daughter feels great in your Gym and that is very important for us.
People at this ymca are unprofessional. One Fitness instructor is mean and rude to patrons. She would call out in the middle of a class and do mean I am watching you gestures and stop the class to target people. She is especially rude to non Hispanic people. 100% true. Go there and see for yourself. In fact most people are mean if you are not Hispanic or white. Rude people at front desk, sports center and almost everywhere in this building. Not a supportive place at all.
Very friendly and dedicated front desk staff. If you are looking for a personal trainer, chose Sebastian. He is very knowledgeable and focused on helping his clients achieve their goals.
Front desk staff go beyond. Super helpful. Also, its comforting to see all the employees constantly cleaning machines. The place is spotless.
Poorly run basketball program where referees are lost and donβt understand the game. Missed calls cause players to get hurt. The league favors certain players and promotes anunsportsmanlike atmosphere for children.
My brother and I have visited the last 2 days from out of town. Everyone we encountered has been very helpful and friendly. It was a very inviting atmosphere. They take the pandemic very seriously with keeping clients safe. Staff is constantly cleaning and everyone wears masks at all times. I felt valued and safe enjoyed working out here.
Courteous staff, clean and spacious surroundings, plus the classes are stimulating. Lots of parking space. Soon Ill post pix.
I love the cleanliness of the facility, the state of the art equipment inside the gym, an array of classes (although they could use more spin classes in the morning), and the fitness programs they offer for children. The staff is always friendly and courteous as well. I highly recommend the Y!
Love this place since moving to SFl. Great workout spaces, kiddo activities are fun. Clean facilities, and friendly staff. Felt safe when dropping kids off to workout. They love it.
They make you feel like family and the staff are very knowledgeable on whats needed to help you achieve your fitness goals.
The YMCA has been a go-to activities partner for our family since 2011. We moved here from Indiana and so glad the YMCA here has been as supportive and caring as our old YMCA family back in Indianapolis. We enjoy the variety of programming for members of all ages. There is something for everyone at the YMCA Family Center and Aquatic Center in Pembroke Pines.
2nd time there... love that they take your temperature before you check in... very friendly staff....my parents have been members for years and still enjoy going...
If you want to play basketball this is not the place for you, they close the courts for the whole day for camps and aftercare . They have no care for the paying members who use this facility for the courts .
Very nice.
While I enjoyed going to the gym and think its a great facility, their customer service is VERY questionable. With the pandemic ongoing, my girlfriend has been trying to cancel the membership since the gym is closed for obvious reasons. Nobody has responded to her. Nobody is answering the phone. Their corporate office has updated their IVR to send you to voicemail of which there is NO voicemail configured for it. YET they are still charging her monthly. I called YMCA of USA and got nowhere with them. Essential their response was You need to handle it with the local Pembroke Pines Office.. Theyre closed!!! Absolutely unacceptable!!!
YMCA is a safe place to go for us as a family have enjoyed the classes in a friendly and save environment and the little one have enjoyed the summer camp having fun and sharing time with other children. Thanks to YMCA to open this summer camp
The cycling class are awesome! Nice size facility. Though the cardio machines and weights are a bit tight. There is one cable machine and free bar machine and when busy, its almost impossible to get to. Staff is nice. Fairly priced. If they had a slightly earlier cycling class its be superb - but they do offer numbers evening options. My schedule just doesnt always allow me to take advantage...
Karate instructor Sigung Sergio Troconis here is very professional and great with kids. I hope that YMCA sees how valuable he is.
The YMCA is far more than a workout facility. It is an encouraging, come-as-you-are, on-mission family center where you meet friends for life, as well as grow personally in body, mind and spirit. Years ago, I spent eight happy, formative years at the Y as a lifeguard and manager. When I moved to Broward County, a friend involved me in our local Y, and now Iβm the Chair for the Board of Advisors in Pines. For teens and youth it is a place to learn leadership. For kids who canβt swim, the Y is at the helm of drowning prevention. For adults it is a place of community, growth, and health.
Great family oriented gym overall for the area
Every time I walk into the Y I feel great. The staff greats me like family. The facility is impecable and the equipment is fantastic. The facility is so clean I feel safer working out than pretty much anywhere else right now. Everyone there is family oriented. And the best part is everything is organized. The weights are where they belong and in order. What an amazing concept. If you have a family this is where you want to excercise.
I loved it thanks for asking
The Pembroke Pines YMCA is great! There are always tons of classes for both adults, teens and kids. The cycling classes are amazing and ongoing throughout the day. The only thing I would definitely look into upgrading are the actual cycling bikes. They are not the best but can definitely get the job done. Trainers are also great!
Very good place for play baseball. Save and funny
Love this gym! Great amount of equipment and space. Also love the classes available to the members and wide range of time slots for them
This Y is well maintained. All the latest equipment. Always clean. The staff is helpful.
Disappointed they are not open today, Aug 1st... its 10:30am and its beautiful outside, there is no storm yet. I didnt even get an email about their closing and drove out there to find the doors locked. Should be open to your members who want to work out .....
Great staff. The gym and its equipment Is amazing. Only thing is the Basketball courts ; the courts are usually always used and it cant be publicly used due to camps. I believe that it should be open all day for the public. But other than that its worth a monthly membership.
Great customer service, wonderful staff. Great prices. I loved the classes offered here
Grray family place excellent covid precautions
The Y at Pembroke Pines is fantastic. Promotes a friendly atmosphere for your choice of exercise which are many. After a stressful day at work, I find it relaxing to go there . The staff is wonderful. Personal trainers are available, I had Gerard he is great.
The Family Center is very kid-friendly allowing adults time to work out while kids have fun playing video games, foosball, etc. The Aquatics center just got an update and the kids enjoy it very much. The swim classes are great for our kids too.
LOVE this Y! Great programs, wonderful amenities, friendly staff, accessible location and hours of operation. Cute guys too! :)
The best place to go to exercise, clean friendly, best teachers, everyone with a nice actitud, helping you in anything you need Love it
Theyre constantly updating and have a lot of family events. Very impressed
Most excellent family environment with the necessary equipment to support a wide variety of exercise enthusiast even into the events levels. In addition it provides confidence Safe child care while you are striving to attain your physical fitness goals.
Family centric, always clean, friendly staff.
Excellent, their basketball is open, unlike the Weston Y
The YMCA is great for families and people who want to get in shape. Their classes, facility and programs are excellent. And we havent heard of a place that does childcare as good as they do for a gym.
This place is awsome! You dont need to join an expensive gym. Just come to this one. They have all you need at a fraction of the cost and you can join sports leagues. Awesome place.
My family joined last year. We all enjoy our time there, weve even closed the place a few times. They also have a Subway sandwich shop inside! The staff is very professional and helpful. No meat market here activities for kids of all ages and kid sitting is availabel for free, while you work out, so do they.
Ive been going to gyms for 30+ years. This place is excellent. Great machines, clean, safe, everything you want from a gym. Like any gym in the world, there are times when it gets more crowded then other times. Ive read comments about unsupervised kids running around. Ive never seen that. Remember, its the YMCA so youre going to have children but Ive never seen unsupervised children running around.
I have enjoyed being a member of the YMCA. The exercise classes are wonderful and they have great hours to be able to fit a workout into my day.
This gym has a subway inside! First time Ive ever seen that happen hahaπ€£ but great atmosphere but it is a very tight space good thing theres not that many people ever there. All the equipment is super up to date and has a rock climbing area inside but its not too crazy. Really love this gym got to get a trial week to try it out unfortunately I cant afford to come here monthly. Too expensive for a college student wish they had a college student discount this would help ! β€ thanks
This place is awesome, love the gym, love the people and the Subway is there too.
I love this place. So much activity. The staff is welcoming and really takes time to assist you with your questions and they also took Te time to give me a 15 minutes workout with a personal trainer to see where I am at. Special thanks to Tracy and the whole staff .
Great staff, daycare available, nice gym equipment. Large assortment of classes offered, something for everyone. Initially I was hesitant to get a membership at a YMCA...but it is very updated and current.
Our family enjoys the Y here in the Pembroke Pines area. Well worth the monthly fee!
Love the Y. Great facilities and professional trainers. In addition, they offer a great variety of classes.
Excellent for all types of classes for both adults and kids. Huge gym that has every type of exercise machine. Full size basketball court. Subway sandwich shop attached to premises.
The people are very Helpful.
I love the YMCA! It offers a range of activities from family yoga to spinning to basketball. Even when it is full it isnt too noisy. It has something for everyone!
Good place to workout. Limited on free weights and space. Gets crowded fast.
Excellent and spotlessly clean place
First time in this location, kids club clean and nice, very organized. Also the gym is very clean looks new.Enough equipment... I really like this place!
Great place for the whole family. Good activities. We enjoy it.
This is a beautiful environment for children and adults. Great amenities! Family friendly, no prejudices, none! Equal treatment for all.
Theyve truly got it all great workout facilities and awesome fitness programs such as yoga, pilates and zumba included in your membership.
First time since it closed, very clean and staff glad to see you back. Small amount of people thought.
The atmosphere is great in the place. Everyone is very nice and friendly. Great place to workout and my kids to do sports and activities.
Its a family center-- baby care while exercising; after school for teens, silver sneaker classes for seniors and full array of exercise machines, also personal trainers.
Online offer that brought me in had added guidelines it cost less to keep my membership elsewhere by both location distance / traffic and cost
Good workout place. E end when Ive been gone for a while, welcomed back.
Staff is friendly and very helpful. Great family place to workout
Love this center! Some instructors are ok. But if you need a GREAT work out, take Alina or/and Darcelle classes! They are awesome! Super professional, they know what they are doing.
I usually take my son here in the evening (6PM) because of the basketball courts. Now the entire courts have been taken over by Volleyball from 6PM-9PM. I would think they would do half court Volleyball and half Basketball to be fair for the kids that play Basketball, but thats not the case. I spoke to the manager which with a smile told me that there is nothing they can do because the Volleyball is a paying league. As if the kids that play Basketball go there for free, we pay for that membership as well. This really goes against YMCAs mission. What ever happened to looking out for every kid and keeping them involved with sports and keeping them out of the streets, if you are being so unfair and not allowing the kids that want to play Basketball? I am very upset that they are not willing to do anything to correct this and be fair for the kids that play Basketball. Please show your support by complaining to the Management or writing a letter. We need to get Basketball back in the evenings for these kids !!!
I have to say Iβm very disappointed in the daycare aspect. I was told that my son (even though he walks well) was to be in the infant section because they canβt βwatch every kid and he might get pushedβ. That statement alone was unsettling and I will not be going.
Nice facilities and family-oriented, which IMHO is a good thing. There are times when its a bit too busy and I dont like or have time to wait for a treadmill. Also, there is a yoga instructor there who is absolutely terrible. I am surprised that she is still there after so many years. She doesnt circulate around the room checking for form, she doesnt give specific instructions on form, etc... For example, during standing tree pose there were several students with their foot pressing against their knee, which can be very dangerous. She didnt mention this verbally or correct them. It seems to me she doesnt really care about her students. I love yoga and was looking forward to taking classes here instead of having a separate yoga membership and having to drive 20 minutes to a studio (there are no studios in West Pines), but I care too much about learning proper form and alignment and avoiding injury to risk taking another class with her.
Great gym highly recommend if you need a good work out.
Good place for the family to spend time together. The kids love it here.
The workout areas offer lots of choices and are kept spotless. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Its a good place to drop off your kids and there is a Subway inside to!
Good & helpful staff. Good amenities. Plenty of parking.
This Y is absolutely, the only reason I didnt give it a five is because it doesnt have an indoor track.
I really love Gaby and Rima Zumba classes they are so energetic people and very kind and professional. Also I love Thai Chi
The place is great, they have varieties group workout, cant go wrong with one on one training, awesome workout machines but sadly they dont have a sauna.
Get place to work out. They also have a childcare center so no excuses!!
The people and staff make this a wonderful Y
Love this place to work out.
I visited to partake in a Zumba class and really enjoyed my visit.
Amazing family oriented gym. Kids love going. Great equipment and instructors!
This place is beautiful with great staff, awesome class schedule and variety, plenty of parking and the best part : IMPECABLE
Very Family Friendly And Personal Trainer Leo is really knowledgeable and patient.
I lost 80 pounds in just 5 months. Thanks to all of you. I love them!
A great family driven place and exercises and activities for all ages.
Its a good facility for adults, but my kids get sick here every other week. They dont disinfect the play areas. Beware.
Pretty fun with lots of activities but a staff member in particular wasnt very friendly
Best Gym in SW Broward. Modern cardio machines w individual tv for each. Lots of weights, Never had to wait. Great Subway restaurant located inside too
Love the classes but the gym is depressing: very small and unexciting.
It was nice. It has everything but a steam room and suana.
The YMCA here in Pembroke Pines is awesome! Very nice people, and the subway is great!
Nice gym. Could use more floor space for stretching
Fun place. Over priced. Child care has too many children vs care givers.
