I went to this store first thing this morning to have a flat tire repaired. I have the Road Hazard warranty, so it should have been an easy in and out. The employee behind the counter said that they were booked up for two days. Then he came outside and looked at the tire and said that it looked like I drove on it while it was flat so he wouldnt be able to honor the warranty. I just purchased the tire at the end of May, and I didnt drive on it. The man had a horrible, sarcastic attitude and was a very poor representative for Pep Boys. I went to another store down the road and they fixed the tire on my lunch break with a great attitude and quick service.

Some friendly advice to whoever runs this location. Maybe next time you tell someone over the phone to bring a car in, ask them WHILE THEY ARE ON THE PHONE the make and model of the car instead of waiting until they drive across the county and walk in to be told you don’t work on them. I know, crazy right, auto shop asking what kind of car the person is calling about. Thank a lot Bob.

I was next door, at the auto store, and walked in to get an oil change. They took me right in, and it was done very quickly. They rotated my tires, and checked my car out. Everything was great. I would only change one thing. One tire was a little low on air. They could have added the air, instead of me doing that once I got home.

My 1995 jeep was coughing & loosing torque as I was driving after taking the vehicle to them 2 times with no results. They didnt test drive the car which began coughing and the check engine light came on immediately after picking up the car, didnt do several of the things I also asked them to repair and were argumentative. Wont be back. Looking for another mechanic to fix my jeep.

I had a problem with my cooling fan. Took the car to several places, nobody could fix it.I then took it to pep boys on us19 in Palm harbor. They repaired the car and had it back to me in hours.Great service, very professional and everything works perfect. Replaced throttle body on my fiat 500L. I was quoted a price, went in and the service was done fast for the price quoted give or take $5 for miscallenous items. Bob was very nice along with the other employee. I would recommend and do business again.

I dont recommend. I used to be a regular customer but since Bob took over as the manager, youre not allowed to talk to the mechanic. Hes rude, claimed he called when my car was ready but didnt leave a message till I called and walking up there to get my car after an oil change. I wanted to tell the mechanic to not slam the door because the drivers drivers side window was temporarily held in place till I could get it fixed. I drove home and the window broke on the way.The employees at the Auto supply store next door also dont like Bob and privately has lot to say about what a jerk this guy is. Going to ask for recommendations for another mechanic.

Pulled up to their place right after they closed and one of the gentleman working was more than happy to put air in my tires for no charge, even though he was supposed to be on his way out. Very thankful.

So, I visited this Pep Boys to get my front tires balanced. I have had problems with them not being balanced properly at another Pep Boys store. Tires are fairly new and purchased at Pep Boys. Was told that they have the oldest balance machine of all their stores. Manager said he wouldnt balance his own tires on that machine. Told me to go to the Clearwater store. You would think a place that sells tires would have the equipment to balance tires properly. Makes me wonder.

Took my car in for Check engine light....was told by manager Bob that there is a cost ($150) to diagnose and if I get the work done it will drop down to $50. After diagnosing my car was told it was CO2 sensor. Was told it was going to be $650 to change it (that’s a lot) but got it done. I ended up paying close to $800 (with 6 month warranty). One day later the light came back on took it back they refixed it....2 day later light came back (took it back in). The 4th the light came on the manager (Bob) told me there is nothing he can do and would refund the money back. That was a month ago...still waiting for refund was told Corp has to get involved since it’s over $500. Meanwhile I took my car somewhere else got it fixed....avoid this place not trustworthy...and not reliable at all....I will be contacting the Corp office to get my money back. During this hard times this is just not right...

I recently started hearing a kinda strange sound from my front rotors on my 2016 FIAT 500x, so I went to my dealer looking to see if I need pads or whatever. They quoted me $300 for the pads and $150 to turn my discs - plus labor!Just Brakes quoted me $150 with a $50 mail-in rebate. HUGE difference!When I went into the store, my car was in the back getting worked on. Thats when it happened... honesty from a car mechanic! (Rare these days.) They escorted me into the shop to show me that my pads did not need replacing and that the sound was just inherent to the composite rotors I have. Total cost: $0!Again, the car was out back in the shop. They could have easily just put the new pads on and charged me for the work. They chose the honest approach - and I recommend the gentlemen from this store to work on your car.

This pep boys provided top notch service when I got my Honda Accord serviced, I had a quote from another place I usually go to but John the manager beat the price I was offered and earned the business he also impressed me by doing a few extras like throwing in an oil change, this made me very appreciative. Not only that his staff is very friendly, I enjoyed talking to them about cars. I will be bringing my vehicle here in the future and referring others.

My problem with the car turned out to be minor and they were honest about it. Service was quick. I was impressed. I will definitely use them again.

Really disappointed. I called to get a quote on brakes. They told me 159.99 and I was happy so I took my car in. While I was there, I asked them to check the back ones. They said they would call me with what they suggested. They did and told me I should just get them both done (159.99 each). They also recommended i get my brake system flushed (69.99) so I did.What should have cost me $390 plus tax ended up costing over $450. I paid but went outside to look at my invoice. There was an added shop fee of $35. I would have understood had they mentioned it, but they didnt. So, I went back in and asked what it was for. The guy was very vague. He said they use it for fees like shop supplies. I feel this expense should be disclosed before service. I also think it should be part of the fee included with services. What if I only had enough to cover the fees they quoted?My boyfriend has used them several times (recently) and his bill is always what they quote over the phone. Not sure why mine wasnt.

I recently went to Firestone and they gave me bogus information. 860$ for tie rods? No way. Brought it to just brakes for a second opinion and my tie rods are fine! The nice men there showed me and explained in detail what the problem was. Overall, their customer service was excellent and bring me out there and showing my the problem was cool too. Great customer service, gave me coupons to reduce the price and showed me exactly what was wrong with my car and what needed to be done. They were fast, honest and affordable. I enjoyed taking my time out if the day to come here and I dont usually give reviews but I felt it was necessary this time. Highly recommend and beats the crooks at the Nissan dealership any day!

I had come in to get my brakes worked on because I could hear rubbing on the front end of my vehicle. Robert the technician took the time to explain exactly what was wrong with my brakes and he gave me several options for the repairs. He was also able to beat the estimates given to me by two other competitors. The brake work was completed while I waited and the staff there were very helpful. Overall I had a great experience here and I will definitely recommend them to my friends.

- IF I COULD GIVE ZERO I WOULD- They saw me coming. I wanted to have the wheel alignment done because my car was pulling to the right. First, I was told I needed new tires, which I agreed to having two replaced. Then I was told I needed new wheel iron rods. Because Im safety conscious, I was convinced to get this but didnt have money for it. ****I was presented with a credit card so that I could pay it off over 6 months. I got a HARD HIT on my credit with a CAR LOAN of $400 and it cost me 60 POINTS ON MY CREDIT SCORE. *****Not only this, when I went home there was a light on my dash and I called them about it because it wasnt there when I handed them my keys. I was told well then you have a nail in the tire. (From the person who wanted to sell me 4 in stead of 2 tires and had me sign up for the credit card, plus told me about the tire rods.) I called back again and someone else answered who said that it is a button that you have to push when you replace tires. Went back, and it was the brake light that needed replacement. This is not where it ends. I got home and looked on YouTube for loose tire rods and my steering had absolutely NONE of those symptoms. My steering was rock solid, no looseness or play, except for the pulling to the right a bit, like when you need your wheel alignment checked. I suppose Pep Boys Palm Harbor have not caught on to the idea to not take advantage of female customers and I havent learned to trust no one in this industry. As you can see from my experience, if youre dishonest in one thing (the tire rods), you will be in another (telling me I have a nail in my tire) plus telling me Im signing up for a Credit Card and it turns out to be a LOAN?. So what else are you lying about Pep Boys?

A close family member recommended Just Brakes in Palm Harbor to check out the loud scraping noise that we thought was the brake pads. I made an appointment with Robert over the phone. With little money in the budget for any car repair, I was very worried about the cost. Robert investigated the problem and gave me the good news with a friendly smile. It wasnt the brake pads, just a simple fix was needed and it was very affordable. What a relief! I was thankful for his honesty and professional integrity. You cant put a price on that these days.

Rude and arrogant. Had to take car to another mechanic to get honest opinion and handled it a professional manner. Pep boys of Palm Harbor didnt believe us on what we needed and what was happening to the car. They handled it a very condescending way treating us like idiots instead of just checking it out.

Called got a price for break pads which included turning the rotors. sounded great, made an appointment for the same day. after I get in and they have my truck apart, the gentleman comes in with his report. He said I needed pads and new rotors. I asked why, said something about a blue color and they cant be turned. I asked again. I was told they wouldnt turn the rotors. now it went from 159.99 to over 400.00. little did they know I was at sun toyota two weeks earlier for some warranty work and had received a written estimate for the brakes which included turning the rotors. so I asked if they have the same machine as toyota and he said yes. thats when I told him I was in to toyota and they said its no prob to reface the rotors after a complete inspection. at this point I said I was just gonna go and not get the work done. then he went back out to the garage again, the first time was to inspect the rotors himself, this time was to tell the mechanic to put it back together. when he came back in he said the mechanic said he could cut them. i politely said no thank you. I believe there was dishonesty here. it was an attempt to up sell a bigger ticket which is common unfortunately in shops. most people dont know its happening cause they have no other info to dispute their claim. it was my luck i had the previous estimate from toyota . its to bad cause had this been an honest shop they would have had me and my son as long term customers. im attaching the estimate from toyota. I dont want the shop to think Im being dishonest in the fact that the rotors were able to be refaced.

Do NOT ever go to this Just Brakes! My wife took her Honda Fit there to have her front brakes done and she was literally held hostage. Took them 2 hours! Told her she needed a new air filter and it was changed only weeks ago. New calipers, needed to change brake fluid!! Give me a break.Just do want you are told to do!!Ohh yea, coupon for 100$ brake job.Not exactly. 150$$$Total waste of time

I return over and over. They explain all the things needed on my older cars and I pick what I want to have done each time. This month Im doing oil changes, but last month it was brakes and next month oxygen sensors. Friendly staff and Dennis at the desk is a hoot!!

However, one of the older vehicles that we own appeared to be having some issues with the brakes so I contacted Pep Boys formerly Just Breaks. I must say the service I received from Gio and Dan was Amazing! Dan explained and showed me what was going with my car and Gio considered my opinion with regard to the cost of the repair and provided me with options. I recently had new pads installed on my 2008 Dodge Ram using my Just Brakes warranty and the guys were great. I was I and out quickly and they did a great job.

Back in the bottom again. All because of one employee at the Palm Harbor shop. What a freaking loser! He looks like he hasnt taken a shower in days. Every time I go in for service, this model employee finds a reason to turn me away. Went for an oild change, its going to be 2-3 hours, then went for a nail in the middle of the tire thread and goofball says that cant be repaired, without even looking at it. Then starts walking away saying he needs to sell me another tire. He found out I had left when he opened the door and no one followed.

I did not know parts are marked up lot more than what they were when ordered

Manager I am assuming told me how busy they had been all day saying 14 cars just as of recent and said he only has one guy working so it may take some time and proceeds to sit down. I am a manager and if it were me I would go out there and help my guy out to get the job done faster to satisfy the customer been sitting here Almsot two hours for an oil change while he just sits feet propped relaxing while his employee busts ass absolutely disgusting. I came in yesterday sat down patient willing to wait he lets me know it will be a while I schedule an appt for today thank goodness I called to double check the appointment because He had no recollection of telling me he would get me taken care of at 3 if I would have known scheduling an appt means waiting two hours why bother??? So upset then I get the bill supposed to be 19.99 it was 25 I made sure to say I wanted the special SEVERAL TIMES still waiting and they are sooo pushy saying my tire this something wrong with that like I want a simple oil change quit trying to sell and Harrass

I could give negative stars I would . I got there at 4:30pm to have my tires balanced, I asked how long it would take and an older gentleman wearing a white button up shirt ( the store manager ) said 30 mins . I asked if he was sure because I live down the street I could go home if he will be longer . He said yes it will be about 30 mins . 30 mins go by and I see they are just now moving my car, so I ask the young man with blonde spike hair if it was done he said they were just about to start . I said they told me it would be 30 mins. He said to talk to the manager, I go talk to the older gentleman and I said you told me it would be 30 mins, he said I told you it would be 30 mins to get on the lift then another 45 mins to get it done . I said absolutely not if that was the case I woulda just went home, clearly caught in a lie he looks at me and says well what do you want me to do to fix this, seeing his attitude was not going to get me anywhere I said just finish it as fast as possible . Another 40 mins go by and they give me back my keys and said sorry we couldnt do anything we cant take off your tires . I was blown away, this is literally what you do for a living . He said sorry we cant get them off . I told him thank you for wasting over an hour of my time and I left . I do not understand how they keep the doors open with services like this !

I am forced to retract my original 4 star review after finding out the repairs on my 2001 merc cougar were (for lack of better terms) Half-assed and left my car very dangerous to drive in. CHECK RIP OFF REPORT PEOPLE THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF LIES AND UN-EDUCATED DRUG DEALING MECHANICS.To sum this up, I and my grandma spent over $1500 at this store before getting my car on the road to new york. Having an oil change, front and rear struts,ball joints and radiator replacement done here was MY WORST MISTAKE. Due to them my oil pan plug threads where stripped and i leaked oil over 1000 miles! When I took my car into a different oil change place they IMMEDIATELY notified me and showed exactly 1.5 quarts (out of 6) of oil i had left. I watched it pour from the stripped plug! on top of that I was missing the bolt that actually held my steering axle and wheel together. ALL THAT WAS HOLDING IT WAS GRAVITY! I noticed a weird noise when i hit bumps but didnt think anything of it because the car was new to me with new struts and had stuff in the trunk. As well as not putting the rubber protectors on my new radiator (which happened to go out in the just brakes garage) they forgot other bolts and nuts on my struts! I was told by 3 other places(Mobil express, delarms and sears) I could of lost my whole right sides wheel and strut assembly. I get people forget a nut or two but this last one really had me worried... They forgot to plug in my Rear ABS (anti lock brake system) wires. After calling corporate with no response all Dennis could do is tell me the mechanic (Adrian) was a dumb drug dealer and he fired him weeks before and offer me another crappy $16 dollar oil change. Dennis can take it and shove it. Is there no experience required at these places? Does anyone know what they are doing? No and No. Should you go here? Well quite frankly NO! take yourself to a local guy or a different corporate brand. Spend more now worry and risk death less later. They are not the only ones in the Tarpon/ Palm habor area who will price match.
