Was pleased with everything about the car and the service, except that the agent when i went to pick up the car tried to sell me an upgrade for $19 per day then cut it down to $90 for the whole trip, then after I left and checked my email, had seen that Avis said i could have a Free upgrade. But that is fine, I get it. Other then that, the car and the service was great, easy, and affordable. Very happy with everything

I have always had GREAT experiences with Avis. When upgrades are available, the clerks dont hesitate to option them. When reservations are made, I have never been dropped or forgotten about. A car is always reserved and is the type I reserved or better. Pricing is better or similar to all other rental companies, so my decision is easy and is Avis. I enjoy some of the perks as well. Amazon gift cards and promotional emails.

The toyota corolla had substantial cosmetic flaws and dents all around the car. Paint chucks missing from mirror to mirror around the entire front of the vehicle. The car was not clean inside. The rear seat carpet was pulled out on drivers side. There was trash under passenger seat. Was the car cleaned and sanitized before the vehicle was released for another customer rental?The morning after we rcvd the rental and only drove to the hotel the tire was low and eventually went flat. Avis customer service gave me an address that was 415 miles away at an air force base to bring the car to and we obviously did not go there. Thank goodness for strangers that stopped to help us inflate the tire on the road. I was fed up and lost all confidence in Avis and their vehicles. Id like to suggest a compact air pump in rental vehicles in the future. These issues cause a great inconvenience during our vacation and anniversary celebration.

I pre-reserved a rental car months in advance from AVIS. We get to the Orlando airport. We went to the AVIS counter, the agent told us we reserved a full size car, a Camry and its in spot #37. We get there and no car in the spot, it was EMPTY. We asked a few AVIS workers who could not help us. Finally after walking around with no help we found a female agent who found us a stinky, dirty smoke smelling, dented Ford Fusion that she gave us. We took photos of the inside, it was filthy. sticky seats, totally a MESS. The vehicle must of just came in and was never cleaned. I WAS A DEVOTED AVIS CUSTOMER, NOT ANYMORE. YOU RUINED THE START OF OUR VACATION.... VERY ANNOYED WITH AVIS. IM DONE WITH AVIS, Looking for new car rentals, there are many. If you keep up these tactics, you will be out of business. Im going out to social media and explain what you did to us on our vacation and how bad your customer service is. I will be showing photos of what you gave us as a rental car. very very SAD. Also PLEASE TRAIN your employees!!!!!!!

Renting a car can be a complete disaster right now, but luckily we didnt have any issues. Our flight was delayed 2 hours and I was so worried they would give our car away. Nope. No problems. We arrived Saturday night around 7:30 and we waited longer to get our checked luggage than my husband waited in line for the car. Other rental car agencies had LONG lines. Our car was what we had reserved (for a great price, too!). Only issue was that it did smell like smoke.

We had no problem returning the vehicle on this day. Avis staff members were present to assist us and printing out my receipt. Unfortunately on August 21, 2021 upon our arrival, we had a very stressful experience when I was assigned to the first vehicle. Air conditioning was not working at all. I then went back to the service desk and was told to drive the car to them. I and my entire family and pet were drained, hungry, thirsty to drag ourselves to the service desk. I told him no and to offer me another vehicle. In the meantime, we are four passengers and a miniature poodle strolling three large luggage, mini luggage and personal items, carry-on and carrying our poodle in his personal carrier. Now we are strolling our belongings to the second car and we load every item ready to go and again the air conditioner was not working either. We removed all items and proceeded back to the service desk and demanded another car. The service staff member sent a staff member to check if I did turned on the air conditioner correctly. He sat there wondering why it didnt work. We decided to go straight back with all our belongings across the street to the Avis counter and explained what I went through for over 2 wasted hours. They apologized for what happened, and I was given an excellent vehicle. Our arrival was on time at 5:18pm. When we left to go to our resort, I arrived 8:45pm. Avis customer member gave me a $50 discount. For what I and my family went through, I should have a larger discount. Thank God returning the vehicle was a breeze, but upon arrival it was so stressful and we were losing it! I and my husband are seniors and it wasnt easy especially with a poodle that flew for the first time. No one there to assist us with our luggage. I looked around and noticed another family waiting to see if their vehicle is good to go. It appears to me that these vehicles are not inspected and thats a danger to all customers. This needs to be addressed.

Terrible and unreliable. The counter service is supposed to be 24 hours. We arrived at 1am, apparently only A side is 24 hours check in. We were at B side and had to go to the other side. and no one was at the counter! waited 20 mins for someone to show up at the counter. We found a vehicle in B side so we went back to that side and upon checkout, The man was extremely lazy and rude. We asked him to check the dents on the car and it was almost like we were asking him to do us a big favor. He saw the dents scratches and said they don’t care about that. We took videos and pics just in case. We told him the gas was only 3/4 full and he said return it the same as you got it and did not even look at the gas tank or make any notations. I asked him about the gas and he repeated himself like a robot. And kept closing the door on us as if we were bothering him with questions.

The attendant was unfriendly and nonchalant. The interior carpet had an odor probably after it was detailed made the inside unbearable. I was given a car with no washer fluid, i informed a staff and was told to ask for another vehicle rather than provide a $2 washer fluid.The only plus is the car is like new.

The rental experience was seemless. Didnt even have to go to the counter. The only problem I had that unfortunately I had not realized until after I left and driven Quite a distance away was that the key fob supplied with the car Was defective and and any button you pressed would activate the alarm system.. Which then became very difficult to turn off. we were able to utilize the car for the short stay we had by by just using the door unlock. Which did work. We did notify the Avis representatives upon return. Otherwise everything was quick easy and efficient. And the car was clean and in good condition.

Customer service is TOP NOTCH!! I have used AVIS multiple times and they have always provided TOP NOTCH service, from the beginning of the rental to the end. Being a Preferred member, the agents locate an upgrade rental and make sure our family is well taken care of. Even in the midst of this rental car crisis of cars not being available or costing an outrageous price, AVIS has always had a car at their normal, affordable prices.

Renting from Avis at MCO was great. Checking in and getting my car was quick and friendly. The car was clean and in good condition. Turn in was similarly timely. I recommend Avis if you need a rental at MCO!

1 star just because you have to. Yet another frustrating and aggravating experience with Avis. As a preferred member (does that even matter anymore) I made my reservation 3 weeks prior and included my flight info as requested so Avis could “ensure we have your car available when you arrive”. Our flight was 3 hours late getting in (12 midnight instead of 9pm) so as usual I went to the lot to get the car but assignment wasn’t on the board. Walked back to Terminal B Avis desk only to find no one there and a hand scribbled note saying “desk closed go to Terminal A”. So off to Terminal A - upon arrival found 1 agent Working and a line at least 40 people long. So here we go... while waiting I make a call to the 800# and they were of absolutely no help! So, 1:15 later, I’m at the counter and explaining how aggravating this has been. The agent states to me “I didn’t do anything to you so you don’t have a reason the be angry with me” my response was “Well Sir, you are a representative of Avis and therefore you need to take action to correct the failures that have occurred”. I asked why my car wasn’t assigned in the lot and he had no response. He did mention “ If I had my way, there would be more people working”. I sent a message to Avis to determine why my “preferred” status didn’t have a car assignment.So, this is more directed to the operation and not the individual... schedule your staff so that there is more than 1 person working during peak arrival times. If your a customer... modify your reservation if your going to be arriving late and trust that Avis honors that. Wish you all safe travels!

-100 Stars for this Avis location. Really angry and frustrated with Avis. Worst Experience ever.I got a complimentary upgrade on the Avis app and confirmed a white Mustang which showed location G20. Instructions to pick up the car were unclear because they didnt mention the Airport terminal A or B. The baggage claim of my Delta Airlines flight 854 was at terminal B and so I went to the Avis parking garage at terminal B where there was no G row. Counter lady told me to go to terminal A. After taking the tunnel and lots of escalators and elevators, I reached G20 parking spot at terminal A. I was stopped at the exit and told to return the Mustang and get a contract. I went to the Avis Preferred counter to get a contract for the Mustang and the counter guy told me since I reached late, I cant get the Mustang and he gave me a Kia Forte instead with a contract. I asked him why I couldnt get the Mustang since I already had a complimentary upgrade. The counter guy said its already sold out. Then after some time, he handed over the keys of the same Mustang to another person. And that wasnt the only Mustang parked in that garage.Almost all the people there were lost and couldnt get the car they wanted.Advice: Call Avis to confirm the terminal A or B before going to the parking garage at this MCO airport. I have attached a picture of the rows at terminal A. Other rows such as R, S, etc are probably at terminal B.Story doesnt end here. I didnt like the Kia Fortr and changed the vehicle to a Nissan Sentra 2021. After 5-10 minutes of driving the car out of the garage, I got a low tire pressure warning.

Only down point was the long line. I waited over an hour, I wish there had been more agents. However, once I got to an agent the process went quickly, all documents were digital so I didnt have to worry about any printouts and only a short walk to the vehicle. The price was great compared to other companies and the vehicle was good. I would definitely rent from Avis again.

First car was haunted. We hadnt even left the lot and the control panel was turning on/off the radio, A/C, etc.Second car we left the lot with a low tire, aired it up, then found out it was a slow leak.Third car we hopped in and immediately upon backing up realized the back-up sensor was broken and detected a presence behind the vehicle that wasnt there. At this point we were fed up and just dealt with the screaming every time we backed up. (Screaming back-up sensor, not screaming obstacles 😅)2 stars because swapping vehicles was not too complex, but no discount or attempt to compensate us for lost time and stress was offered.

There wasnt anything that stood out about this rental as exceptional. The car had a roach population and there were hidden fees. I was an hour and minutes late and was charged $65! Also there was a strange unexplained 10% charge. The car was rattly, and the GPS sucked! If you are renting in Orlando, rent WAY in advance. The prices here are ridiculous. On a positive note, the counter lady was charming and quick. Avis is way better than budget, in price and wait time.The budget line everytime I come through Orlando is at least an hour wait. I paid extra for the toll option and was satisfied. The whole Orlando rental car market is a pick your poison scene. Tourist trap!

You have to give credit where credit is due. I arrived Thursday morning on a late flight from Southwest Airlines ✈️. I was one of about 30 people in line at Budget car rental at 4:00am in the morning. Their partner company next door Avis👍 was there and the gentleman didnt have a line. One of the patron for Budget walked over there and asked him will they match the price😱💵. This gentleman was a lifesaver he saved my trip. I got a car and paid a good deal. He matched the price and everything was done right. I definitely got to give credit with five stars all the way. I even saw what I think his manager come in early that morning right before I was leaving and give him a handshake for staying late or coming in early. Im not sure Im just happy was there. 🙏😇🇺🇸

I was not clear where to go to pick up the car. I waited in a line that wasnt moving. As I started reading posted signs I started to wonder if I was a preferred member. I searched through the mobile app and realized I could be and there was a designated parking space. I proceeded to the lot and found the parking space only to realize this is the wrong car. I went to the service desk and they told me the car was given to someone else because my flight was late. They quickly gave another car.

2 out of 5 due to the time it took to actually get the rental car. After the flight to Orlando, we waited an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes to get the car while other lines that were considerably longer were going through their customers with ease. We had also forgotten our car seat base in the rear of the vehicle. Thats on me, but when I contacted the lost and found they said it would take 30 days to find any item. I understand we lost the item, but 30 days seems a little excessive.

The check in process was easily and painless. The check in attendant was friendly and smiled. The vehicle was exactly as promised. I had it for a week. Returning it was super easy and there was an attendant waiting there with a baggage cart who took us all the way to United ticketing check in!!!! I couldnt imagine having to carry all 6 of our bags with a 3 year old, and we didnt have to! Would absolutely recommend.

Staff is rude, unorganized, and very unprofessional! Like others commented I should have looked at the reviews on here before, but assumed I would have the same pleasant experience at all Avis as I do at home. Like others have said even being a preferred member means nothing at this location. Make sure you pay attention to names when you first talk to someone there because if you have an issue they refuse to give you their names. When i called corporate about my prepaid reservation the person I got was very nice, friendly, apologized on Avis behalf for the rude employees, and I was happy with the outcome. I love my home Avis, but do not bother with this location! Ton of other options and all around the same price.

Excellent customer service, really top notch. They went the extra mile to help us when Spirit Airlines cancelled our flight without warning and left us stranded. We couldnt be more grateful or recommend them more highly, both at the Atlantic City NJ airport location and at the Orlando FL International Airport. They cut the red tape and got us rolling in a nice car as quickly as they could. Thank you!

The car was neat and clean. Avis staff was polite and professional. I returned the car with a full tank of gas but Your Staff said Ill rent it with 13.5 gallons of gas in the tank and I returned it with 12 gallons of gas. I was charged $14.99 for the supposed 1.5 gallons of gas. I dont mind paying for what I used. But no one can know just how much was in the tank. It showed full and I only drove it a few miles after I filled the tank up. I agreed to return it full and I did. Avis took advantage of me.

Flew into Orlando and arrived after midnight. They had a couple different areas for rental car pickups, the first two we tried had no one there, and there were no signs showing what to do or where to go. Called Avis and their customer service said they were open, but could not tell me where to go. Eventually ran into a janitor and they told us where to go. After finally finding the counter, mentioned to Gustavo that I had received an email after landing and suggested maybe he could relay that something helpful for future customers would be to let them know in that email which counter they should go to to pick up their rental. He just sort of brushed it off and said they couldn’t, didn’t really seem to care. My biggest issue with Avis was Gustavo asked if we would like the $50 a day toll pass or a basic $6 a day toll pass. We asked do we have to have one or the other, to which he said yes. I get they always try to sell you some kind of worthless upgrade, but I inquired again, so I have to have one of those, he answered yes again. He went on to explain how they worked and I said can I choose neither. And he said yes, but I’d be sitting a lights and in traffic for a long time. I get that, but to flat out lie twice to my face like I’m and idiot just reminded me of the old school car salesman. I should have just turned and walked away right there, but at 1 am just decided to finish up and get out of there. Did not purchase the toll pass and when we compared the times between toll roads and non toll roads the toll pass would have saved us a whole 20 mins for our entire week in Florida. Definitely not worth any amount for the have to have toll pass. Car was great, but service and lies were nothing I’d ever want to deal with again. Won’t rent from Avis ever again.Update: I received an email from their customer service rep about my experience. They happily stated that there are 2 counters at MCO and if one is closed go to the other…umm…thanks, I already have figured that out weeks ago when I needed to pick up my rental. They should just add that info to the reservation confirmation email in the future to avoid further frustration from future customers. They also told me that the toll choices were optional. Again thank you, I had already figured that out after being lied to about it twice. To all future customers, please be aware that their “options” are just that, options. They will act and tell you that they are mandatory, but just politely decline them. It seriously is bad business practice to tell consumers that options are mandatory. Just be aware that at the counters, their employees sales pitch to get you to add on items and tell you that you have to choose one is a lie, you do have the option to decline. And even better you have an option to instead rent from a more honest company.

Drop off is so easy. Drive your car to the return center and unload the vehicle. Leave the keys. As simple as that!!Even better,they have employs that helps take all your luggage into the airport for you. This was so helpful. No fee,just a nice, well deserved tip. !!!

We arrived at the airport at 9:15, I went to the AVIS counter to check in, as there were some issues, to begin with when I made the reservations. The gentleman there was great, prompt service and off we went to pick up the car out of the garage. This is where it went south. After we walked to the designated space, we noticed that it was not the car we were assigned. I had to then go to the counter in the garage and wait in line to be helped. This guy, took my paper and then handed me back a paper and said go to this space. Not once during this time did he tell us that he had downgraded the car, let alone the fact that it was a different vehicle altogether. When I arrived at the designated space I was quite confused, I sought out a manager. She attempted to put us in the same car the first guy had put us in, only for it to be rented out beneath her before she could complete the change. She then stated she was going to put us in an SUV which was an upgrade, she gets that paperwork and walked with us. As we approached the vehicle (this is vehicle number 3 now and by now over an hour has passed - it is late, it is hot and I have been up since 4 am), she opened the trunk area and I noticed that the garbage was discolored in several areas. I thought at first it was from the sun, the manager turns to leave and I open the back driver side door to put in my backpack and notice that there is sand, garbage and upon looking at the side of the car it hasnt even been cleaned. I had to run to catch her, by now its after 11 pm, I am exhausted, my travel companion and I have now also been forced to walk the length of the parking garage in the heat three separate times to go to vehicles that are not there, not what was originally given and now a dirty vehicle. We started this process close to 9:30 - there are ZERO reasons for this kind of service. The manager finally found a clean vehicle, when we returned it with a full tank of gas I was charged for gas. I had to wait in line again to get that removed. The one star is for the manager, who did her best - however, the whole situation was unnecessary. In the beginning of having to make the reservations, the guy who took it did not honor the price that was listed on your website. Granted we are talking about $11 to $15 bucks, however, given how down hill it all went it just shows lack of customer consideration. I dont care how busy you are, you make sure you know what inventory you have at your disposal. The current practice is obviously outdated and needs to be revamped. I do not recommend using this or Budget as they seem to be one and the same according to the call in line and the return attendant who lacked any useful information.

Our experience was ok, but not above average. As seems to be typical with car rental, we did not get the vehicle that we had reserved. Instead of a Scion economy car, we got a Mitsubishi SUV. It was OK, but if I wanted that, I would have reserved that. Service was good and price was the best we could find at the time.

I Fly multipleTimes a month decided to become an avis preferred member to avoid rental lines etc. great first two experiences. At this airport however I walked 10 mins out of way to go to preferred counter and back to find out it was closed. Causing me to get to the normal line late where it also mentioned there should be a preferred line but there was not. Then nothing was said but the preferred line just silently opened inside….while I was stuck in the middle of the normal line. After being in the normal line for 40 mins it’s announced that the preferred kiosk in the garage is now open again. Several of us race there to then wait in line yet again. Trying to show loyalty to avis but you all are making it really difficult. Got to be up in a short number of hours and tired of wasting my time on this business trip. Disorganized chaos here. And then finally my usual class upgrade for preferred was not honored and had to pay for ups grade epic fail avis pound sand I’m out

If I could give 0 stars I would!My husband and I flew into Orlando on August 19th and had already rented a car online with Avis. When we arrived to pick up the car it was ready and everything seemed fine but as soon as we pulled out of the parking garage we heard a noise in the front of the car that sounded like one of the tires was going to fly off and it kept getting worse with higher speeds. Before we even exited the airport we returned to Avis and requested an exchange. The ladies at the customer service counter had no knowledge of what customer service even looked or sounded like. There was no empathy or concern that we were put in an unsafe vehicle, it was more like we were bothering them. The lady helping us had no idea what she was doing and after 15 mins and help from the other employee she’s handed us the keys to us and sent us on our way. About an hour after leaving the airport I received a message from my bank that stated my account was overdrawn, which was odd because we never use our debit cards so upon looking somehow Avis had charged a debit card that was not linked to my husbands app or account. He spent over 30 mins on the phone with customer service and thought the issue was resolved. Once vacation was over we returned the car with no problems.We kept checking our bank account and still noticed 2 charges on of $250 for holds plus a couple of dollars on one for whatever reason. My husband had to call back to customer service and have them remove the holds and figure out what they charged us for after we returned the car. This is when we realized that the lady at the counter in MCO didn’t do a proper exchange, she rebooked another car and charged us the rate for that vehicle even though it was not our fault. We got everything taken care of through customer service, well so we thought.Fast forward to yesterday September 24th we got an unusual activity alert from our bank that there was an attempt to charge my husbands debit card from Avis for almost $3000. He of course declined the transaction and we to the Avis app to see what was going on. Next to the reservation for the initial UNSAFE car was a receipt for the amount charged to our account. He tried contacting customer service and asked of course they told him to call back today and speak to someone.We will NEVER rent cars through Avis again especially from this horrible location. Pay the extra money and book with some who actually knows what they’re doing and cares about their customers.

I paid for an upgrade so my kids and grandbaby could be comfortable but vehicle stunk like Marijuana, vehicle overdue for service, ac didnt always feel good, needed oil change and tire light was on. I shouldnt have to be worrying about these things on a rental while vacationing with my family 😕 BUT they did give me partial credit upon complaining so at least they did try to keep me satisfied

The rental car was great. We just didnt appreciate having to wait in line for service as long we did. We thought that Avis should have provided more agents for handling customers. There were at least 15 people ahead of us on Friday afternoon, July 15, and we would have appreciated being serviced faster. We had called months ahead, but that fact counted for nothing, it seems.

Im a preferred member and have been a member for over 10 years. This was the worst experience Ive had at Avis. The Orlando, FL Airport Avis gave me a dirty vehicle to drive. I asked for another, and they gave me another dirty vehicle, I asked for another car and the third vehicle had engine issues, so I finally got a 4th vehicle that was somewhat clean. Terrible experience!!!!

3 hours waiting at the preferred desk only to get the wrong car. At least 100 people in front of me and only 1 person working the counter. AVIS takes your money by wont hire enough people to clean the cars or work the counters. Mobile app worthless as only told me to go to counter. 90% of preferred not assigned cars (see photos). Even after signing agreement most people had to wait a long time to get a car because no clean cars available. Do not rent from Avis at MCO!! All rental car lines were hours long so I suggest take lyft/Uber and rent off site elsewhere.

Vehicle was infested with bugs and we had to throw out the food we were going to bring back the last day due to this. ($50 dollars worth of food) Not to mention this led to a very uncomfortable ride worried about said bugs and fear of them getting in our luggage. Then they slapped me with a $180 dollar gas fee to top it all off. Avoid this place.

This was a great experience. The front counter person was extremely helpful and really took time to make us feel comfortable with where we were going. The other counter operator was doing the same thing to an elderly couple in front of us: Didnt rush them and seemed to make them feel completely at ease with the entire process.

Poor communication and poor signage. I landed at Orlando International airport at 12:30 am in terminal B. I was directed to go directly to Avis rent-a-car in the Parking area of terminal B, but no one was there and there was no sign, information or service individual to redirect. There were a number of people wandering who had made the same mistake I made. I had to go back into the terminal and then walk to the other side of terminal A where there was a Avis representative who was then able to help me, an HOUR after I landed and had my bags!! Unacceptable!

Had pre-paid a reservation with Avis which I had to cancel upon arrival. Was told no other companies in the Airport will reserve without a major credit card. Read in the terms and agreements ; a form of payment (usually a credit card) and assumed I would be fine with a debit transaction. After the stress and frustration of canceling I decided to walk over to Enterprise and got a vehicle within minutes.

When I called to add my wizard number the guy didnt pay attention to me at all, then cancelled my reservation, which I prepaid for. Then I get to the Orlando airport and have no reservation, they had to remake me one and I had to pay again, was told to call customer service the next day to get my money back. Called customer service and the guy who cancelled my reservation put it in someone elses name and someone elses email. Had to give credit card info to prove it was my reservation. So far have only received $150 of my $763 reservation. Was told it would be 3-5 business days and its been 10 days.

I was dissatified, being that the car was reserved and paid for prior to my trip, however once we got to Florida Ontario Airport, there was an additional $250 deposit fee that had to be paid in order for us to have the rental car. It has been 4 days since we returned the car, with a full tank of gas. We were not informed that the additional money had to be paid, so it took away from our spending money for the trip. (Highly Disappointed). The lesson is, moving forward I will drive my own car (newer model, more space and nothing to pay for but gas). Never again!

I had to stand in line to pick up the car over three hours in line. Our flight landed in Orlando FL, few minutes after midnight. By the time we got the car and headed to the hotel it was almost 4am. I had two children with me who had to sleep on the airport floor while I stood in line. By the way I was not the only person with children who was waiting in that line. This was the longest & hardest time I ever had to rent a car.

I used the mobile app to select and find the car. It was a bit challenging to find where the rental car lot was. The first car I got in smelled like smoke so I easily changed to another in the app. The car was fine but the counsel area layout was odd and was not extremely clean. Exiting the garage was easy. The toll situation in Orlando was very confusing and I still have no idea how much I am going to get charged. I wish the app would have let me know these is a heavily tolled area and how to navigate that.

I arrived at this location and there was a sign in front of the person at the desk directing Avis preferred members to walk across the street for their car. I walked all the way across to the garage and there were no Avis employees there at all. An employee from another car rental company told me to walk back across the street to where I was. When I got there and I told the desk agent that their sign was misdirecting their preferred customers across the street. He told me to email the CEO. His name was Karen or Caren or something.

The car was rented for a long period of time. We are sensitive to smoke. When we got the car it was after midnight and had no choice but to take what was assigned. The car smelled terribly of smoke. There was a cigarette burn on the back seat. We verified this with the attendant as we left the airport garage. I noted it to the Avis rep who e-mailed me and never heard back. Need better customer service.

The vehicle was poorly cleaned, there was no windshield washer fluid, and it was so poorly lit in the pick-up area we couldnt see there was a crack in the window until we had left the garage. There are no direct numbers to discuss such matters, and I was on hold on the phone with your claims department to report the damage was already there for over 45 minutes. And when I arrived at the garage to drop the car off, the attendant told me it wasnt her problem to tell the company.

Only 1 star because I had to leave one. Avis told me a credit check was needed to pick up the car and validation of my flights to and from Orlando. I booked with a work discount, best believe it will be the last time we use any business travel with Avis. The representative was very nonchalant about asking for my personal data, it made me extremely uncomfortable and was overlay invasive. When I told him so he produced some paper citing policy. A credit check is very extreme, especially when paying in full for something like a rental car.

Ease of pick and return. However pick up was lined up and only 5 representatives, so we were an hour in line. Our rep was apologetic and resourceful. She worked quickly to get us the car. When we went to the lot, our car was not there. We had to stand in line again in the pick up area to get this rectified. Again polite representatives helped us.

This post was initially negative due to rental procedures and hidden fees regarding toll usage. If you are planning on renting from AVIS, sign up for their preferred program which is free, at least 25 hours ahead of your rental date, to skip the long lines.AVIS, refunded the hidden convenience fee which cost more than the tolls I used over the almost two weeks I had the car, updated this post to reflect their desire to work with their customers.

Hello. I would like to let to let you know about the issues I experienced with my recent car rental. When we went to pick the car up, I was told that the vehicle I had reserved two months in advance was not available. When I was upset about this I was informed that they dont reserve a specific vehicle and too many people had rented cars. The desk staff were rude about it and would only offer a smaller rental car that wouldnt hold our family. They also informed me that we had brought too much luggage. We finally took the smaller car to get to our lodgings since it was almost 1am. We had to return it the next day since it was too small for all of us. It also had a flat tire. They still could not offer us the vehicle size that I had reserved so we had to rent another car through Hertz. At that time they assured me that I would be given a refund for the rental (minus one days fee for the less than 12 hours that we had the smaller car), but I would have to call the 800 number to receive the refund. I have spent 4 and a half hours on calls to the 800 number, been hung up on 3 times, I have been told that I would not receive the refund then assured that I would be given my refund of $815.42 and that it would be returned to my account within 3 to 5 business days. That was 11 days ago. I called again yesterday and the representative said I just need to be patient and wait a few more days then call back again if I havent received the refund. At this point I was hung up on again. I would very much like to resolve this. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

The car outside had many small dents and scratches, inside was clean, but there was something wrong with the tire. I did not drive it except to my friends house and back to the airport, as I was afraid something would happen.

I got a flat tire on my car and they could not give me a comparable car and they could not fix the tire. I missed an entire day of using the car because of the tire. I know it isnt your fault I hit a nail, but the accommodations to fix it should have been better. I called myself and was on hold for 16 minutes, then lost my connection. I wanted the car I paid for, which was a convertible mustang. Ruined a chunk of my vacation and put others out to try to help me. Not Avis people.

Spoke to Angela manager for Avis employee number #32032 on 8/4 from my initiated call requesting status on my credit from case # 40949040.I explained to Angela the case number provided by Hector AVIS  representative July 31 and what I was informed due to the additional days charged and requested mileage also resulted in confirmation of me fueling vehicle.I had to close my rental agreement unfortunately 4 days later July 31 with Avis Hector,  over the phone because of AVIS errors.Angela had no response to additional days and charging, and to the no fuel information captured which was reason for the mischarging and the lack of information relayed By Hector from the July 31 call.  Only affirmed what was already researched and identified by Hector 7/31 call.  However redirected with the below…1) Sent me a modified reservation in email in which I told her and Bryan the representative to not send me what I have just provided in email as my complaint as u can see per email traffic below. That is not addressing questions and concerns.2) Angela further pushed me over to address my concerns with Corporate for better rates with Avis Corporate.3)Further INSULT and lack of customer service Angela provided me the same “option”twice with in the call to accept a $303.18 INCREASE from the original rate being disputed.FOR TOTAL standard rate of $609.98 INSTEAD of the undisclosed cost of $ 306.00 corporate rate. Yes she said you can accept to pay more or accept what we are offering option… From misinformation communicated by Avis.Turned in vehicle 7/26 to Avis Orlando airport However Avis did not receive vehicle into their Avis system until 7/31 from my call.. I was closing my rental with Avis over my the return July 26 on July 31 ( 4 DAYS LATER, NO MILEAGE and NO FUEL INFORMATION CAPTURED by Avis from MY Return). I was This vehicle could have been rented again by that time accruing mileage and daily rates, resulting in charges against my card.Deficiency in AVIS process delays and not correctly captured information that impacts customers. The car was not cleaned when we arrived it was 10:45 at night so we did not notice. It smelled like stale cigarettes and had face masks and papers on the floors. No audio on the car functioned. The car door was a safety hazard, broken, and would not stay open. I could not return it for a new one within 2 days of my location once I got to my destination. I will be challenging this car fee via American Express and may sue. I have video of the door being a horrible safety hazard. Shame on your company for renting this vehicle.

Three stars because the rental was actually nice. There were a few stains though, and the windshield was blurry even after using the washer fluid. However, the damn line was way too long. We got off of our (delayed) flight at around 1:30am and didn’t leave until almost 4 o’clock because there was only one representative. That’s unacceptable. If you don’t have enough staff, then you don’t need to be open. And you definitely shouldn’t be taking online reservations to still have to wait.

Super simple to use this company. Check in was easy. Rental car pickup was right at Orlando Airport. Drop off was seamless, didnt have to see or speak to anyone. Just parked the car and then received a text a little while later saying our rental was checked in. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely use them again. We got 2021 Chrysler Voyager. Seated 7 people and had great gas mileage. We used about 400 miles and only had to fill the tank once when we returned it.

I got billed almost $500 extra for Optional Services which I never accept in any form (I didnt even accepted stuff like e toll) and Recovery Fee which was never mentioned to me before.Theres literally no reason to lie to me @Avis, just tell me the total upfront.Edit: avis contacted me, and just told me they can do nothing about it. Our van was great and comfortable. We found a used band-aid and an empty coffee cup in the sliding door which is hidden when the doors are open. I wish an attendant was available to point out some of the prior damage to the vehicle. I took pictures before leaving parking garage during pick up. Other than that the van was great and counter help was great.

The nissan pathfinder we rented had been in a minor accident, the front bumper cover was misaligned. The interior was stained and filthy. we filled the gas tank and still was charged for gas at $9.90 per gallon.

I am a Preferred member. In Orlando, the Preferred line was outside and had to wait about 20 minutes in a line that was about 5 deep on 25 May. In contrast, the normal line was inside and I could have walked right up to the counter. My previous experience with National Rental Car was with Emerald Isle. In that program, you could walk right out, by-pass the line, and pick your own car in the class you rented. Much better program. I wish my company would have stuck with National instead of moving to Avis.

After booking this reservation 4 months in advance, I arrived in a state 1000 miles away from home with 10 children and Avis told me they had to perform a credit check. Being a recent victim of identity theft, my credit report was locked. I was told it takes 48 hours to update. Can you imagine the dismay I was in. Then conveniently, the guy at the counter knows about an offsite rental place that will pick me up take me away from the airport and when I get there the cost is double what I was expecting to pay. Then a few days into my trip my car was charged a no cancellation fee by Avis, after they denied me the rental. I feel like there is a whole scam going on and I will be reporting this all to the better business bureau through my lawyer

I would never rent a car with Avis again. I waited in line for close to 2 hours and a half, when I had already paid and made reservations for the vehicle months in advance. There were only 3 customer service reps working to assist over 20 people waiting in line (time around after 12am). After the long wait, I couldnt locate my vehicle spot and when I did there was another SUV in my spot. Luckily, there was a Avis agent near by and I asked her to help me get the vehicle I originally made reservations for. She told me she can switch my reservation to that available vehicle, I said ok because I really didnt have another choice. She made note of it on my contract paper work. On my way back to return the vehicle, I full the gas up and on my way to the airport the gas went right below full. Avis charged me $37.31. Thats crazy. I paid 35 dollars to full the tank up and Avis charged me 37.31 for 3 gallons of gas. I called about this and they did tell me to send in my receipt but I cant find my receipt to get reimbursed the money. Overall the service was horrible. More employees at the desk would be helpful to assist customers and more employees in the garage to help customers locate there vehicles will be also helpful.

We gave Avis a chance since all the rental companies at the airport had mixed reviews. We arrived on a Friday around 2pm. The line inside was Looooong however, since we were a preferred member (all we did was connect our Amazon account to Avis) we got to skip the line! We headed outside to the second story and found our car in the correct space. The app shows you where if your a preferred member. The keys are already in there and you just check out through your phone. We had no problems with our rental. No warning lights and the car was clean. Check in was a breeze. We followed the rental car return line and followed the Avis signs. When we parked all we had to do was select return car rental on the app and we were done!! There was even car hops waiting for people to help with luggage!! We will update if extra charges appear on our card.

I have been using Avis for years and this was the worse experience I have ever had. The staff at Orlando Airport was horrible. They didnt see as a preferred customer they assigned me a vehicle that wasnt checked in from the last customer. That wasted more time on the exit. The guy at the exit area blamed me because the vehicle was on his list and said I was suppose to check the license plates. Lastly they charge me a deposit, I have never paid a deposit. but the worse was the manager couldnt answer any of my question. The van was not cleaned when I picked it up. I was charged for fuel when I returned the van but I did fill it up. So that was just a bad bad time with Avis I am seriously considering taking my business to another car rental company as well as my employers business. Totally Dissatisfied

The process took way too long. There were no lines, however, it took almost 45 minutes to get our car. The worker did not tell us what the hold up was. I had rented a 15-passenger van, however, ended up with a 12 passenger van. After the long wait, we didnt care what we ended up with at the end, we just wanted to hurry up and get out of there. I paid for a car seat in advanced but the worker tried getting me to rent one. I had to repeatedly tell him I already paid for one in advanced. Car was in really bad shape. Brakes squeaking, side door had to be slammed shut with brute force and opening it was a hassle as well. Definitely not going to rent from Avis again.
