Apartments are not cleaned properly or thoroughly before move in. Underneath all appliances are covered in previous tenants filth. There is hair painted into the walls and doors in all rooms. Electrical flickering in both the kitchen and bathroom and tub drain broken upon move in. Dryer vents are not properly maintained posing a fire risk. The bathroom tub and walls are painted and will begin to chip and peel with daily use. Maintenance staff is unprofessional and rude. Every request made to maintenance has been questioned and argued. Office does not send proper emails for work being done around vehicles and inside apartments. Emails reflect wrong dates and wrong information. Walls and floors are very thin allowing noise travel easily. No sidewalks for tenants walking posing a safety risk. Dumpsters are continuously overflowing. Constant disruption to tenant and their animals due to outside “beautification” year round. Saddle Creek seems to not value their existing tenants as much as they ploy to usher in new tenants.

Hands down the worst and most unprofessional experience I have had with a property management company. We moved in to dog poop on our porch and were told it would clean off when it rains. The roads are CONSTANTLY in disrepair yet always under construction. The apartments are deceivingly small and VERY poorly built. They raise your potential rent by like $10-15 every day (might be more) after you see the unit until you sign. This should tell you all you need to know. MAKE SURE YOU READ YOUR LEASE. They tell you you need to give 60 days notice but even once you do this you still owe them money somehow? The people who are positively commenting about the staff are either staff members or fake reviews. I have lived in cheap college town apartments and still NEVER had anything close to the rude, passive aggressive, downright threatening interactions with an apartment complex that I have here.SERIOUSLY, JUST DONT DO IT

Great location. They really need sidewalks. Many people walk through here and it is dangerous around curves, especially at night. Also, dumpsters are only every other building/parking lot. So you may have to carry your garbage a distance.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. If you have a pet... PLEASE do NOT go here. They say they are pet friendly but are not. In their pet policy they charge you a fee like most apartment complexes do, however, if you read the fine print it talks about “removing the padding and carpet if it is (stained, permeated by pet odor and damage in anyway). HELLO dogs come in with wet or muddy paws.. it’s Michigan!! Their apartments are only 800 square feet and they will charge you close to 700$ to replace the carpet and keep your security deposit on top of it. Also, management is absolutely horrible. So much for supporting “hometown” hero’s. Here’s to you saddle creek apartments.. I rate you a ZERO.

I dont live here, but it seems like all of the past 5 star comments were either bot comments or paid comments to get their ratings up. Its very suspicious that all of the 5 star comments praise the maintence and surroundings and environment and mentioning Jeff specifically. All while all of the bad comments say (with evidential photos) how bad the neighborhood is and how bad all of the staff and especially the maintenance crew is. If I was anybody looking for an apartment I would steer clear. It sounds like a con of an apartment complex...

Originally, I was going to rate this apartment community a 1 star but I’ll move it up to 3 stars since it seems like my major issue is in the process of being solved. I’ll give it 2 weeks for the issue to be completely resolved (fingers crossed). The office staff is super friendly...Maintenance responds superrrr quickly. Even with the major issue, a guy was called out that same or next day. I had an issue where an outlet was sparking. I put in a work order and not even 2 hours later, a maintenance guy rang my doorbell. My place is finally starting to feel like it should have when I moved in the month of January. They still aren’t 4 or 5 stars because the apartment still isn’t the best. The door to the washer and dryer is super hard and loud to open and close. There isn’t a pantry in the kitchen, just the water heater behind a door that looks like it should be a pantry. Closets are weirdly placed and they’re all in the bedroom (3 closets in one bedroom?). Bathroom doesn’t have a bar to hang towels. Furniture placement was a very difficult task because the apartment is so small and there are only 3 walls since the kitchen kind of takes the 4th. One of the 3 walls has the sliding glass door out to the balcony, another is near the staircase so it’s only 60 inches long, and the 3rd wall is the only wall that makes the apartment look “normal”. The apartment is just a whole lot of “let’s make this tiny space look like a whole lotta luxury” but does not take realistic expectations of furniture placement or ease of accessibility in consideration.

We had a pretty decent experience living at Saddle Creek for almost 2.5 years. We were in a third-floor unit (Citation) and it was very spacious and we loved the vaulted ceilings. There are a few things that we did not like though, there are no sidewalks in the community so there are people walking EVERYWHERE during the evening and sometimes its dangerous after dark. The maintenance people are not the best, they do 4/10 job every time especially when it comes to the heat/ac. We had problems with the AC every summer. When we moved out, we were charged over $400 for carpet replacement (it was perfectly clean) and were given a BS excuse about why we were charged this fee. We complained and got our money back immediately so it seemed like a shady tactic for people who dont pay attention.Overall, a nice community. Just be careful and keep everything in writing when either signing your lease or leaving.

BEFORE YOU MOVE HERE, PLEASE CHECK YOUR APARTMENT ADDRESS IN GOOGLE MAPS! My current apartment location/address is wrongly shown in Google maps. All my online packages from amazon, wallmart, khols etc were delivered to the wrong address. I tried explaining the issue to the staff but to my surprise, management is not even interested to listen and they said Do whatever you want... (forget about addressing the issue)With COVID situation where if you do a lot of online shopping, think twice before you move to saddle creek (as you will be on your own to figure out the puzzle of updating google maps, tracking your package delivery etc...)Im a current resident. After my interaction with the current staff, I would like to give ZERO STAR if applicable. Thinking to move out of this apartment.....

Apartments are very small and expensive for the space. Becareful with these apartments property management, they ripoff your pockets at the time of move out charging you for the issues or damages that were not caused by you. They are not negotiable and not amicable when you bring an issue to the table and will send to the collection agents without even discussing with you when you dispute certain charges after move out.I have contacted your office multiple times about the disputed charges which I was not responsible. They did nothing except sending directly to collection agents without discussing or negotiating.

Maintenance was ok, not the greatest, but they absolutely screw you with incredulous charges after you move out of your apartment. Very disappointed in this management.Since I cannot reply to the post that management made. The two photos below is what I was charged $654.40 to replace ! If I am the only one who believes that is steep for the damage seen below, I am sorry for the bad press that I am giving the location.

Be careful when you are signing the lease with Saddle Creek Apartments! They only want to steal your money if you don’t want to extend their lease contract! We left the apartment in a great perfect condition and cleaned, and they kept our security deposit plus they charged us additional fees that we didn’t notify them in a period of 60 days that we leave the apartment! We got so many calls to extend the contact and sign a new lease and no one mentioned about the extra fees we should pay if we leave the apartment! They charged us additionally with 25 days and we found out for that after we moved out!Absolutely terrible experience, they only want to steal your money if you don’t want to sign a new lease with them and they for sure will find something at your home to charge you extra, for cleaning or some damages so they will keep your security deposit. Additionally, not kid and baby friendly especially if you live in a second or third floor, small apartments, very small storage places, you don’t even have a place to keep your baby stroller, not to mention the challenges to bring the baby and the stroller at the same time with all their stairs. I would not recommend to anyone this place to live, especially if you look for something with lot of storage and baby friendly home!

Please note it is a constructive criticism. If they improve any points below, I will give update.1) No security guard.2) Common area Maintenance newly outsourced and very very poor ( Cleaning, snow removal, lawn mowing..)3) No fencing. All are exposed. No safety.4) Most of the buildings lights are bad. No light at the entrance.Updated on Nov 5: Building Lights are restored. Still no street light at the entrance.5) Sewage water stream flows on the broken road.6) Dog poo everywhere including tennis court.7) Outsiders have free access to tennis court and mostly used by them only, while residents will be waiting outside.8) Childrens have no playground.9) No sidewalk, pedestrians always have a sandwich moment between both side passing cars.10) Only price is five star and every year rocket high.11) People are leaving almost everyday due to the above issues.

My apartment has been recently renovated, which was very nice of them because I did not think my apartment was worth the rent that Im paying. My husband and I just moved herE from the east coast, and so far we are really enjoying our lease at Saddle Creek. Jeff and Kelli in the office have been a joy to talk with and very helpful. I have emailed the office a few times with general questions, and typically there is a fairly decent reply time. A member of the maintenance team, (I wish I could remember his name!) came after hours for a minor maintenance issue, out of courtesy when we didnt expect anyone to come until sometime during the week. He was in and out of here in minutes, and didnt seem bothered at all about the call. So far, so good. The apartments are located in what feels like center of everything, so we havent had a hard time learning our way around town. We applied, got approved, and moved into our apartment in 48 hours or less. We couldnt have picked a better first home in Michigan.

The leasing office staff is courteous and follows up on work orders on time. The property itself is very well maintained and snow removal has been prompt in the winter months. The one thing lacking is side walks. Its a pleasant place to take an evening walk, but the lack of sidewalks causes an issue. The rent is expensive but is at par with communities in the area with similar amenities. There are the usual bug issues in months following the winter. But I guess thats not because of a fault on the community management.Ive visited a few other Beztak Properties and this one has been the cleanest and newest among them. The property is centrally located and is only few miles from 96 and 275.It is within 30-45 mins drive from most other towns so thats another advantage.Having said that, it is difficult for visitors to spot the property entrance. The placard towards the main road is small and is not lit at night. All in all, I would recommend living here if the rent falls in your budget.

Decent place to live, location was great. Quality of apartment for the amount you pay in rent is poor! These apartments lack insulation and windows allow lots of outside air in, so be prepared for your heating and cooling bill. Jeff in the office was wonderful, always polite and helpful. Kelli in the office always seemed to have an attitude everytime you had a question or a maintence request. She was not pleasant to deal with. Maintence response time was decent but they seem to just do quick fixes and quality was not the goal. The neighbors were nice and quite. Overall its an average apartment. Two weeks later we get a letter in the mail saying that because we left befor the full thirty days was up they are charging us. They kept the entire deposit and gave us a bill for about 500 bucks. All in all it was another months rent. I feel that is unaceptable. We did everything they asked and during the process they did not tell us we would be billed for leaving when we had to. I loved the apartment but being punished for doing things the right was and leaving is crazy to me. I am not happy and will be telling everyone I know not to even attempt to rent from there property. My husband and I signed a lease with Saddle Creek back in June, planning to move into our new apartment in August. The apartment itself was really nice, especially for the price in this neighborhood, and we were looking forward to moving in. However, two weeks before our scheduled move-in date, they called us up and told us that the current resident changed their mind and wasnt going to move out. They gave us two options: Move into a more expensive apartment with a different layout that we did not like, or wait two and a half weeks for an apartment of the same style as the one we chose. Obviously, this was not acceptable to us. We (very politely, I might add) asked for some kind of compensation for our trouble, but the company that owns the apartment complex, Beztak, would not budge at all, not even for something as simple as a little extra help with our move.Nowhere in the lease agreement did it say that they retained the right to do this to us, nor were we given any warning that the previous residents would be allowed to change their minds after giving notice. Needless to say, we did not want to live in an apartment complex that would not keep a contract. We scrambled to find another apartment, and we ended up moving in next door at River Oaks West. Saddle Creek refused to refund our deposit.Bottom line: DO NOT sign a lease with Saddle Creek unless your plans and/or budget are flexible. It seemed like a nice place to live, but you cannot count on receiving the apartment you sign a lease for.

For being one of the most expensive apartments in Novi, they are definitely not the best quality. The floorboards throughout my apartment have serious water damage, my update was cheaply done, and there are bugs (spiders/ants/roly poly bugs) EVERYWHERE that I cannot get rid of. I have sprayed multiple times and put out traps. When I finally got fed up and complained about how disgusting it was, I was told that pest control only comes twice a month and I would have to wait. They came and it hasnt gotten any better. Very thankful that I only have a four month sublease here because I am ready to get out! There are better places to rent in the area.

I would not recommend this place due to the management teams lack of honesty and communication. To note there consistancy I had a similar issue as Keifer Wallace below (reviewed 3 months ago). When I finished moving out not only did I not get my security deposit back but I was told I owed them an additional $500. Charges and short dispute explanation below.1. All 4 drips pans for the oven. 2 of the pans I never even used since I used 1 for cooking eggs and another for cooking noodles. For other foods I always used the oven.2. I was charged an additional amount for not letting them know I was moving out 60 days prior. Prior to moving out I even asked the leasing office when my lease ended and if that would be my last day with no additional charges and no one communicated the 60 days prior rule to me in this conversation. They even asked me to write them an email in regards to moving out and I stated MM/DD/YYYY or whenever is my last day just to be clear I would be in the apartment for the full period in case I wrote down the wrong day.To dispute charges you need to dispute them within 7 days. When I went to dispute these charges I went to the leasing office a few days after and was told sorry there is nothing I can do for you of course the next step I took was the ask for the manager to have a discussion sorry she isnt available now I then replied when is her next availability, can I get scheduled on her calendar, and what day is she less busy that she would prefer I then got the response You will need to physically mail in a letter to say you want to dispute it. I then decides its OK as long as I can get the keys back since I work in Novi and my reasoning for staying here was to cut my commute short from my current place in the metro area. They told me they could not do that even though I was paying for it. Good to know they are good at stalling the period for disputes and claiming twice the rent on an unit.Very disappointed in the professionalism of this place
