I didnt like this place very much because its not a very sanitary place. Also one of the workers very rudely came to where my Goddaughter and I were sitting to grab nail polish from the case above us. She never said excuse me, so we just moved over so that she wouldnt be reaching over us. Then she proceeds to take her shoes off and stand barefoot in the chair my Goddaughter was sitting in so that she could reach. I only went there so that my Goddaughter could get her nails done and she goes there all of the time. I would have given it less than 3 stars, but the lady who did my Goddaughters nails did a great job. Also its been years since Ive had my nails done and there prices for something so simple are ridiculous now!

TERRIBLE. Just terrible. I had to go back another day for them to fix my acrylic set because it was the sloppiest thing ever . My pedicure was equally as horrible. Both my hands and feet look like a 5 year old colored them. They rush to get done and it ends up sloppy NEVER COMING BACK

Great place mood/ weather changing nails

I dont have a problem with them I usually go to guy #7 hes really go but when Im in a rush I pick anybody sometimes the women dont listen to what you want and do something completely else but the nails last along time more than 2 weeks I went dirt biking, and everything with these nails on my trip and the prices are reasonable.

My wife went in after having terrible service a few doors away at 855 princess nails. She asked for a pedicure they sat her down right away no waiting. A young woman began working quickly soaking her feet and using the proper instruments . She finished quickly and professionally. No complaints at this location, the staff was friendly price was fair.

I love this nail salon! The staff is extremely friendly and personable. They do Amazing Nails, eyebrows, and eyelashes. Everyone always gets a liner for the pedicure which is so sanitary. The prices are within range. The only drawback is parking is atrocious as it is downtown Newark.

My friend went here today and had a horrible experience got harassed in Spanish not knowing my friend understood Spanish this place is horrible and disgusting and all they do is gossip!!!

They are a bit pricey compared to the other nail salons on the same block. a fill in cost $35 here, whereas most places are between $20-$25. HOWEVER, I am always pleased with my nails. They turn out natural looking all the time. I love that my nail technicians knows how to paint because lets face it, just because one knows how to apply acrylic doesnt mean one knows how to paint!

My cousin and I went to get our nails done for her college graduation upon entering we were greeted by a gentleman at that front desk asking if we wanted gel or regular she chose a full set with gel (which he stated was 35$) I chose a full set with regular (which he stated was 25$) she was directed to a man sitting on the first set of tables she showed him a design of a 3D floral nail he said that he would be able to do it but it would be an additional 5$ Per flower which she said ok to, then the man put the set on and before doing the design he told her she had to pay first before he did anything else which he had already started he told her the price would be 35$+25$ So the 35$ maybe 45$ Set turned into a 60$ set quick so my cousin paid because she had half completed nails at this time that’s when the man doing her nails stated doing what he wanted and not listening to the requests of his client my cousin then stated to him I want my nails this way I’ve already paid for it why aren’t you listening. That’s when the man turned to her and said he didn’t do the 3D flowers so he charged her and didn’t expect to finish the job so I got up and spoke to the “manager” and he started screaming at me as if he was going to swing at me saying I was wrong then he directed my cousin to another lady whom he stated does the flowers and wanted to charge her an additional 5$ to do a simple line so a 35$ set turned into a 60$ set turned into a 65$ set.....which isn’t even the design she asked for....long story short the manager is a con-artist and the staff start off the job collects and do whatever and charge how much they please.....I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN !!!!!!!😠😠😠😠😠

The lady that did my nails was rushing the whole time, as a result she cut me multiple times on the majority of my fingers. I let her know that she was hurting me and she just kept doing it. Im fingers were aching for 4 days. I would not drop $60 here.

I like Design Nails and Ive been going there for almost two years. Its a peaceful atmosphere, I never seen anyone fighting in there or even arguing. It can be very busy in there, but they do their best to get you serviced and out to resume your day. I only like one person to touch my nails and thats Kim

Not the cleanest Nail Salon, but thats downtown Newark what do you expect, they treat you like youre deneath them(but thats another topic). The unfriendliness of the staff, I should have just turned around and walked out of the salon. It is not relaxing at all. The way they do my nails is the reason why I keep going back, pretty decent. Except for the last two times, I needed a minor touch up, nothing some filing couldnt fix. Also, Im not a fan of the pedicure station, Ill pass. You know what, I dont like the place. So, yesterday was my last visit. If you are looking for a relaxing nail salon with great service, a place thats eager to please, who takes pride in their work, who recommends products and treats you with respect, dont go here.

My sister goes to Design Nails and her set is always nice, so I gave them a try. First time, great. This time tf around 🤦🏾‍♀️ Three days later, gel polish is messed up. I go back, they say it’ll be fixed. I asked for them not to use the same polish, because clearly IT’S NOT GOOD! But, they insist, if they use a different polish I have to pay. So if you are having the same person who initially did them, fix them, then you are confident in her skills ... right? The polish itself is the issue ... right? WHY WOULD YOU USE IT AGAIN. “The manager” is like if it mess up Again, just come back.” 🤦🏾‍♀️you know what, don’t worry about it. I can lose $35 but I can’t play with my time. SMH

Love this place been going here for years since my daughter was about 2 years old but I havent been here in a year because I wanted to go somewhere closer to my house instead of going downtown because its always crowded and I sure did miss them when I went in there yesterday they gave me a welcome back I not going no where else if I dont have to they work is very good and my nails always look going when my man does them....

One of the cleaner nail salons down town, they do many designs and give you prices straight up if you ask. They also do amazing eye lashes but i had to lift them up with my finger alot cuz it was so close on my real eyelashes that when i blinked it hurt, and it was my first time getting them.

Owner geabed a lady who had mental issues, putting his hands on her. Stylist tools are not sealed sterilized, stylist cleaned tools with alcohol. Tech dis rake her time, was not rushed.

Okay so I always go here to get my nails done and eyebrows. So on my birthday I get my nails done I didnt like them but I was in a rush. That was a Friday, Sunday my nails are already lifting up. Are you serious? So I go back complain to the manager whos a pretty cool guy. He sends me to who he says is his best she did an awesome job and he actually made the first person who did my nails, it give the $45 to the second person who did my nails. Least to say she was pissed. Ill definitely go back its right around the corner from my house.

I am there every two weeks, I like going there at least twice a month.my operater is at number #6. I never have to know or complain about his work.to be honest design nails is the safest way down town in Newark New Jersey. we have going there for over 9-years.

There was a mouse running around the store and the lady then goes to say “y’all all have mice so idk why y’all are acting like that.” Also the manager their is very rude. Other than that they did my nails pretty good.

Very racist. My first time here and I hear two employees denying a black woman service unless she pays first. I was waiting for my friend to get her manicure and said what the heck why not get my feet done. I went and ask one of the employees if they give sandals after a pedicure because I have sneakers she shrugged me off and said $17.50 (when the price is in fact $15) and told me to go back there somewhere and sit down very rudely. I would never give this place any buisness. Beware. They should be shut down

The number one thing that bothered me the most about this place is that NO ONE wears gloves when they are touching customers feet. Sanitation is key.

They was rushing on our services. Plus my mom and I had to keep telling them what to do when they should already know how to do their jobs.

Id give them 0 stars if I could. Theyre completely unorganized. Cant make appointments n to expect to be seen by then. The nail designs are ok to great but no one is trying to wait all day. To make matters worse I broke my nail I go in from opening 9am till 10 . They started seating ppl who came after me cuz no one wanted to fix one nail even though I woulda paid. I went to a nail place across the street n even though they didnt have the same exact thing the made it work n made a duplicate design in 10 minutes. I spent 100atleast every time I went into design nail n will not spend another dime nor encourage ppl to waste their time

IF AFTER MY NAILS I COULD GET PEDI THEY SAID YES. ONLY TO LATER TELL ME THEY NEEDED TO GO AND THE OWNER IS THE ONE THAT VERY RUDELY YELLED HE HAD TO GO HOME. SUCH AN UNORGANIZED AND UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE BECAUSE OF THE PERSON RUNNING IT. NEVER GOING BACK. THEY LOST A GOOD COSTUMER WHO WAS LOYAL AND ALWAYS WAS GENEROUS TO THEM. GOOD LUCK.

These people are rude and unprofessional. Very unclean, I had to remind them to clean all the tools. They dont do hot stones or hot towels with a regular pedi. They dont even take credit cards. I had to tell the lady how ro file my nails. I cant believe I wasted my time in newark. I only came because I was in the area and needed to get them done. Do not go here. Please they are ghetto. Dont do it
