By far the worst manicure I’ve ever received in my entire life. I went in right at 10am for a gel manicure and was there for an hour and a half. They are filed uneven, there is polish all over my nail beds, my cuticles were cut multiple times with the drill and the actual nails are incredibly bumpy. I had the nail tech file them down because they were so bumpy and she repainted them only to make them look worse. When it was time to leave I paid with card and was informed that I could only tip in cash or I could Venmo her (weird and unprofessional). I informed them I only had a few dollars cash on me and they told me I needed to tip at least 18% (for the worst manicure I’ve ever received in my entire life). When I told her I wouldn’t Venmo her she then added the 18% tip on my card (after going back and forth about how I couldn’t do that).I saw the negative reviews for this place but thought “how bad can they mess up a gel manicure??” And they’ve destroyed my nails to say the least. I’m currently looking for a place that will redo them since I personally can not walk around with nails that look like this. I would never recommend this nail salon to anyone ever.
Really bad manicure. Showed a photo of what I wanted: long almond sheer ombre. Was given crooked, thick, bubble-like, short, very opaque white and pink nails. I got them done on thursday, and that monday they were all lifting and falling off on their own. They sat me 45 mins after my appointment time. They gave me additude and clearly were talking about me to each other. On the receipt the total (including tip) was $95. Why was i charged $103 on my card? Not sure. Dont go to this place its dirty, poor quality and unproffessional.
Horrible customer service. I asked the woman to file my nails shorter and she said she was going to charge me an EXTRA $10. I then left and still tipped her 15% (for nails I didn’t even like) and she ran after me and told me I was forced to tip at least 18%. I will never be going back and it was extremely unprofessional.
They take too long the owner need to work on her time management skills along with her customer service skill along with her employees. Their work designs are not what it seams. In my opinion they seem more attentive to their white clients more then the minority.. I wont be going back there at ALL!! Only been twice and both times felt the same way so yeah.. its a NO GO FOR ME..
Great mani-pedis. Super fair prices.Ambiance loud and light.😎. Not obligatory Zen. More like 80s cool.
I have been going to Glitz on and off for five years when I moved to NYC and heard they did amazing affordable acrylics. I will say that their work is very good most of the time. But the staff here are a nightmare. Don’t ever expect anyone to acknowledge you when you walk through the door, and expect a 90 minute wait any time after 4pm. I recently moved next door so decided to give it a try again but it was a no go. A few years ago, two of the nail techs were screaming and punching each other. Nooo thank you!
My wife always gets her nails done here.. i guess its great..
I have been going to Glitz Nails for over a year now! 10/10 experience-highly recommend! Ling and Olivia do my acrylic nails and I believe they preform the best work. Their prices are extremely affordable and their work is beyond impeccable. This is the only salon that can achieve sharp, thin, smooth acrylics. Each nails is perfectly shaped and even among the others. I promise you this is the place to go for neatly shaped nails. They perform gel pedicures as well, and even acrylic pedicures if one of your toe nails is broken or cut too short. They don’t accommodate appointments very well-So walk in’s are highly recommended and keep in mind you might need to wait 10-15 mins. Arrivals earlier in the morning the better!
Nails will lift or peel or fade away after 3 days no matter what. Because of the good prices and great service I tried gel, acrylic, gel acrylic, and now again acrylic and this is just ridiculous, Saturday-Wednesday.
Got a filling with Gel Wednesday the 24, by Thursday they were lifting went and fixed one. Friday about half of the nails were lifting from the cuticle couldn’t return for repair till Saturday. She fixed about four nails. Today is Monday March 1 and guess what ???? The first one she repaired is completely off! They pick and chose who they give good quality service to. They need the mangers approval before they can decide on your choice of nail design and color (weird) and they always respond with a price for any inquiry instead of giving a straight answer. (Also weird) Please have cash because their tax varies.( annoying) Also they have more “please tip with cash” signs then Covid safety precautions.
Always friendly staff and clean salon. All safety measures are up so a mani pedi is the ultimate treat after quarantine! Definitely stop by.
Dont go here!! I went here a few times when I moved to the area. I always get a gel manicure that lasts at least two weeks but when I got it here it started chipping in the first week. They told me its my nails and I should get the more expensive dipping powder. So I spent more money and got the dipping powder. Once again it didnt even last a week, its supposed to last around 3 weeks. When I went back at the end of one week to show them my nails they wanted me to pay for new dipping powder!! So I walked out, I refuse to give them more of my money. I will attach a picture of what my nails looked like at two weeks with their dipping powder. I ended up finding another salon and my dipping powder lasted 4 weeks (Evas Nails and Spa on 1st ave)! Save your money with this place.
I came here after reading a lot of reviews about this place and others around it. I have to say that most of the reviews are pretty accurate. It wasnt immaculately clean, and I had to wait about 45 minutes to be seen, but I went near closing time and they still did a decent job. A man did my nails but I unfortunately dont remember his name. The nails definitely couldve been neater but considering the price and how long they lasted, Im not unhappy. I really really recommend making an appointment.
Ive come here 4 times- Id highly recommend Olivia but shes in high demand! Ive had acrylic tips ($28) and a fill in ($19). They prefer that you tip in cash. Im always impressed with this place - you get a great deal, high quality results and theyre very nice. Worth it in every way.Ive also had Judy who is wonderful!
They make their acrylic super thick and it looks like u have wide nails
On the weekends there is usually a wait. They do a decent gel mani for the price. It’s around the corner from my apartment so I mainly go for convenience.
Lin did my gel acrylic nails, and they are honestly the best nails I have ever gotten done! So beautiful, thin so it looks more realistic, and she took her time in perfecting my nails!! Also, can’t beat the cheap and affordable prices! Thank you, I will be back!
I just went there this past Sunday and it was too expensive. I paid $71 for a pedi/mani i got designs on my fingernails but it shouldn’t have cost all that. The lady doing my toe nails complained the whole time and she did a sloppy job. The only pro is under my feet is softer and even tho my fingernail designs couldve been more even i like how they came out. I only went there because i need a pedicure/mani done bad and i live nearby. Next time im going elsewhere.
I’ve been a long time goer and this past time was the last. She was rushing through the gel, then got up for the back massage portion and fully burped in my ear. Enough is enough of this place. Bye for good
I came in with an appointment with a friend and they took my friend right away and had me wait an additional 50 minutes. So by the time my friend I’m finished I still wasn’t seen. I asked the manager for some sort of compensation for wasting my time (a discount or additional service) and they were very unaccommodating, like everything else. Would NOT RECOMMEND
I LOVE this nail salon. This was recommended to me by a friend a few years ago. I was looking for a salon that does really good acrylic nails. Olivia who I believe is the owner is just so genuine and always to pleasant. This salon has the nicest workers. Not to mention how affordable their prices are for such good work! You walk in and feel so welcomed. I love coming here because of how nice they treat me and how attentive they are. I stopped coming here for a year or so and branched out to other salons. I thought wait... I love how Olivia used to do my nails, let me go back. So I went back and let me tell you how happy I am to be back!! I had gel extensions(From previous salon) and while I was getting a pedicure I soaked them off. After soaking off the gel extensions my natural nails under were so strong and healthy!! Except for 2 that broke. Olivia immediately told me I should let my natural nails grow and she will put a silk extension on the two that broke. She was honest with me. Most salons would have done another set of acrylic to take my money. Not Olivia. She was honest with me and told me that another set will only make them weaker. My pedicure was so amazing. Peter is the one who did my pedicure. He was so nice, so gentle. I loved my previous visit. I loved how my nails turned out. I never had my natural nails this long before. Im glad Olivia knew was she was doing to give me the results and opinions I wanted!! I cant wait to return this weekend.
Annie is epic! Love coming to this place! They do such a great job and have amazing color options! Massage is good there too! They can do lots of shapes as well! Great pedicure too!
Great service and amazing price. $23 for gel manicure is the best Ive found around.
Love this salon! Best nails and for a good price. Staff are lovely. I always leave feeling fantastic
I came here last week for an acrylic fill in and for some reason I ended up paying 40 dollars instead of 19. The color chips easily and two of my nails already broke. I would recommend don’t come here for the low prices because you get what you pay for. Employees were nice at least.
The best. Ive been to so many salons in this city, no one comes even close to this place!! I travel all the way from Brooklyn to make sure my nails are as perfect as possible every. single. time. They can do no wrong and they are all the sweetest people in there, love em!!
Wouldn’t recommend this place for an acrylic set. My technician did a poor job— first, they filed my natural nail bed using an electric file. When they added the acrylic, some of the nails dried lopsidedly, and some of the nails also dried with lumps. I pointed it out, and my tech tried to reshape them by filing them down, but it didn’t help. The tech was extremely rough when filing and shaping the acrylic nails. After the acrylic dried, some of my nails had glops of the stuff beneath the nail tip, and my tech never removed it. Also, there is dried acrylic material on the skin around most of my nails. Now that I’m home, my nails are hurting; it’s painful to dry my hands with a towel or to even change my clothes! I can’t believe it. I’m very disappointed with this experience (it was my first time ever getting tips lol). I’ll probably get these nails taken off tomorrow. Overall, it seems like this place is hit or miss, and unfortunately it was the latter for me.
I needed an emergency gel filling and my usual place in Jersey had no openings. As soon as I Googled, Glitz popped up. I noticed they do the same gel filling close to home and I liked the end result. They should work on their hand design technique. Good place for an emergency visit.
I went to this place today, this morning with a friend and I stood for 5 mins or so at the door waiting for someone to acknowledge me no one did so I sat and waited for 10 more minutes and still no one said anything. It was very rude I opted to not support this terrible business and it’s bad customer service.
No frills and definitely no glitz, but pricing here cannot be beat! I have never had any issues and Ive always had lasting manicures and pedicures. I normally go for regular pedicures and gel manicures when I come and both have lasted around a month which is more than Id normally expect! There normally isnt too long of a wait, but theyre not great at honoring appointments, so Id just call and ask them how busy they are before you come by. They dont seem to turn people away really, so I think the issue is that they let people in when they already have appointments!Id recommend bringing cash as they charge you a little more to use your card. If youre looking to treat yourself and have a luxurious experience, I wouldnt come here, but if you just need your nails done at an extremely reasonable price and a pleasant experience, this is a great place to go!
Very miss or hit. I went a few times and every time its different. It is very very cheap though. I got acrilic fills for 23$
I had to wait about an hour, I shouldve called ahead. This is the only place near me that does acrylics, that I know of. I asked for coffin shape, and my nails look nothing like that. Some are filed too much on one side and none at all on the other. Some are just crooked. The acrylic they used was very thin. I wanted OPI Mod About You, a very popular color, and they didnt have it. I couldnt understand why they didnt or if they couldnt find it so the lady began putting hot pink polish on my nails that she claimed was the same color. We had to SEARCH all around the place for a gel color similar to the light pink shade that I wanted. Such a bad experience. I want to bite all my nails off, they are all bad except my thumbs.
Stunning for the first time going to Glitz, and It is super beautiful that I just turned out for my nails salon!
Best price for a set of acrylics in the city. No hidden fees.
This place is the lowest price nail salon I could find living in the city. They generally have a long wait unless you make an appointment. But the staff is really nice and I always love my nails.
DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give it no stars, I would. This place is absolutely DISGUSTING! Nothing was clean. The first time I went there I got a full set of acrylics with a gel polish. The tools were being used on the same people, nothing was being sterilized. My mistake I went back a second time. I went to get a fill but before I came I purchased my own tools, they wouldnt let me use them... The day I got home 2 of my nails broke. Went back AGAIN to get them fixed; I get home and 4 more broke. I had 6 nails all together, so I go back the next day. They wouldnt let me get my money back so I had them give me a new set. The lady who was redoing my nails was cutting me. I eventually saw blood on my hands but I knew it wasnt coming from me. I respectfully told her I need to wash my hands because it was not sanitary. SHE YELLED AT ME AND WOULD NOT LET ME WAS MY HANDS! She didnt cover herself and still wouldnt let me clean myself. I had to tell her to put a bandaid on or give me a new person. This place is absolutely disgusting and I do not understand how they are still in business or how it has not been shut down. I have been getting my nails done for years and this was the worst experience I have ever had. Thanks to this NASTY salon, I now have warts on my fingers.
They were nice and did a good job but man, the place is filled with fumes. You stop noticing after a little while but go outside and come back and youll realize youve been huffing nail polish remover.
This place has no idea how many people wait to get their nails done. You have to wait so long, 30-40 minutes at least to get your nails done. I had waited once 1 hour and 20 minutes, with that time I could’ve walked out with my nails painted. I even made an appointment, too. Another time my appointment was at 3:00, and they ended up doing my nails at 5:00. This is all true. The reason I gave it 3 stars instead of none, is because when they finally reach your nails, they come out really good. But I just hate the wait and how they ignore you.
Clean good customer care
I did a lot of research looking into where in Manhattan to find a reliable but cheap place to get my acrylics done and ended up finding Glitz on Yelp. I have not been disappointed. They have an excellent color selection of gel polishes, and they do a great job shaping up my nails. Im pretty picky about shape and theyve done an excellent job every time. A fill here is $19 which is a STEAL in Manhattan. I was inspired to write this today because one of my nails (Ive had mine on for months) popped off today when I wacked my hand into a door. I went in to get it fixed and they didnt charge me a penny! I will say this isnt a luxury experience but you get good looking nails for a bargain which is all I care about. Would definitely recommend!!!!
They charge you too much money for French tips!😡🤬
This place is amazing cant complain my nails last me up to a month with no lift!! They are very professional and treat you with love and care!!
So glad I found this shop! The young lady who did my nails filed them so that they looked natural without me having to ask and my (acrylic) polish stayed on until my next visit.
Very satisfied- great prices! My nails look great.
Great job affordable and fast. Definitely recommend making an appointment.
I give this place a 3 star because service wasnt good. The young girl who was doing my nail messed up 2 of my nails and the more she tried to fix it, things worsen. Few months later the place closed down in LES.
I don’t recommend this spot I came here for a filling n the filling wasn’t done properly!! The guy also hurt me with the machine.. after charged me $48 smh. Went to work the next day and my nail broke from the top smh as I said he did a cheap job for and expensive price!! Went back got it fix. Next day another nail!! Same thing... Which I refuse to go back cuz the gas money isn’t worth it for only another nail to brake the next day!!! 😡😡 I don’t recommend I repeat don’t recommend this place!!!
Friendly and clean. No wait. Accommodating to all needs and good deals.
Good prices. But sometimes The work on your nails chips. 🤷♂️
Good price value ratio, my only concern was basic hygiene. Otherwise really cheap and the nails are well done!!
Nice nails and even better prices.
Long ass wait, left my feet bleeding and in pain for an entire week after what I would call an abusive callous removal. They also encouraged me to use dirty unsanitized nail brushes while getting my full set, and I told them I could tell they were dirty and used, and 2 of the employees giggled and just shook it off. There was not a single clean brush to be found after asking multiple workers. Beware of pedicures here and only come if you’re desperate for acrylics, but don’t use the nail brushes!
Honestly best prices. No glitz but worth the way they work on ur nails
Good value, great pedicure, gets very busy.
I live In Brooklyn but I was at NYU for the afternoon so I came here to get acrylic fill and gel polish- had to wait almost 40 minutes because when I called they weren’t taking appointments. When I got home my index fingernail snapped off when I was brushing my hair! I called them the next day and asked if I could make an appointment to come in And have the nail repaired. The girl acted extremely put out and told me that I could walk-in, no appointments. I have now been waiting here at Glitz Nails once again for almost 30 minutes and no one is helping me. They act as if I’m trying to get something for free when I spent quite a bit yesterday and have had to come back to Manhattan to have them fix THEIR mistake! I will never come back here- beyond the terrible service it is 90 degrees inside and their are flies everywhere! Worst experience ever!!
Kelly does great eyebrows
The women always do a fantastic job on me, but the male technician I had this last time was BEYOND terrible.
Olivia is the best
Best artificial nails on budget!
The people here are as friendly as can be and not to mention its in a very good price range
Good service 👍😊
